American Horror Story Recap: The Replacements

Fiona has trouble sleeping, and she heads down for a stiffer drink. The past comes calling, 1971. Fiona's past self asks her mentor how she knew she would become the next Supreme. She tells her about her mastery of the seven wonders, and Fiona asks to be allowed to demonstrate her powers. She sees Fiona for what she is, and when she vows to ensure that Fiona never takes the Supreme Mantel, Fiona slits her throat while Spaulding watches, ever in the shadows.

Fiona became the Supreme with no real leadership, being ruled by her instincts, always being the most desired, until she wasn't. It's time to turn to some plastic surgery to get her desired results.

Zoe visits Kyle's mother, she's of course grief stricken, and spending her time smoking his left behind pot. She talks of his virtues, of him becoming the man of the house at an early age, and his gentlemanly ways. Before Zoe came to visit, she nearly hung herself, and she thanks Zoe for saving her. Zoe tells her that she'll see Kyle again, and she mistakens her words for thoughts of heaven.

Nan and Queenie watch the cute shirtless boys next door as they move in. Madison isn't hating the view either, but the boys' mother is against their exposure.

Delphine LaLaurie cannot believe all that she sees on the television. The future is not agreeing with her. And Fiona's new appointment for her agrees with her even less. Maid is beneath her.

Madison, Nan and Queenie talk about the virtues of cherries, and while Nan is far from a virgin, Queenie is still one. Delphine is having a hard time adjusting to the fact that black people have the same rights as white people, so to shove that hard lesson down her throat, Fiona makes her Queenie's personal maid.

Misty tries to help Kyle find his voice. Kyle is pretty healed up. Zoe admires the mud's healing properties. Kyle strokes her hair, but still doesn't speak. Zoe wants to take him home to his mother, but Misty doesn't want him to go, she healed him. Zoe promises to come again, and Misty watches fearfully. He's not ready to come home yet she says, but Kyle doesn't want to stay with her. Zoe promises to come back, but Misty doesn't believe her words.

Nan and Madison head next door to seduce the boy next door, Luke. They have very different approaches, and Madison quickly finds herself ignored. Luke's mama doesn't take too kindly to the welcoming committee, and when she tosses them out after Madison inadvertently displays her powers. Madison doesn't take their welcome mat being yanked out from under her lightly and lights the house on fire. Looks like the girl is a fire-starter too.

Fiona and Cordelia are both dealt with medical blows. One cannot have a facelift, the other a baby.

Zoe ditches Kyle on his doorstep, and watches as his help me face is dragged into the house.

Luke's mother Joan comes over bearing bibles. Fiona offers her a drink, but Joan refuses, and sets about issuing complaints about the girls, warning them off. The threats peak Fiona's interest when she mentions the fire-starting. Of course Madison arrives just in time to make thing worse. Joan leave and Fiona gets a little fire-starting demonstration. Run Madison, run while you still can.

Kyle's mother is being creepy and overly motherly. She doesn't understand why his body looks so different. And then she kisses him in a not so motherly way. Looks like her was the man of the house in every way, and Zoe just delivered him back into his former nightmare.

Cordelia pays Marie a little visit too. She's there to solve her fertility issues, but Marie already knows who she is. Marie goes over the nitty gritty of the spell that she's asking for. A whole lot of sperm, a hot pepper, some dancing, an animal sacrifice and a big long nap for Marie and there could be a bun in Cordelia's oven. But Marie refuses to help her for any price, because her mama has a big mouth. All of Cordelia's dreams ruined.

Nan hears Zoe's thoughts about Kyle. But Zoe doesn't elaborate. Kyle's mother call Zoe with the good news of his return, but its not all good. She knows something is amiss.

Fiona has a little girl bonding with Madison. Madison is her normal prickly self, and Fiona baits Madison, who falls for it all too easily. Fiona starts in on her lessons, and Madison proves to be a very quick study.

Queenie is enjoying her new slave all too quickly, but though serving Delphine isn't exactly submissive. She fears what's outside, that the Minotaur she crafted to punish her whore daughter's lover, has come back. Delphine spills her beans, and Queenie finally discovers who she really is. How did it take her this long to realize who she was. Queenie sends her off to hide, but not before cutting her. Just what is that voodoo doll up to with her bloody towel? And how does she think baiting a minotaur is going to end well? Queenie gets the Minotaur to follow her. She tries talks to him, finding themselves in similar situations, just wanting to be loved. She touches herself, pleading for the beast to love her, and he's a lot rougher than she imagined.

Kyle's mother invited Zoe over for dinner. She doesn't really know what's wrong with him. She tells him they told her he was dead, and that his body is all wrong. And when she goes all incestuous on him again, Kyle loses his shit and bashes in her skull. Dirty, nasty woman deserves it.

Fiona and Madison drink it up and play a little pool. She sees in Madison her past self, and as Madison gets overly liquored up, Fiona is pouring hers away.

Zoe comes to dinner, but finds no dinner, and a bloody mess. Someone got a bum deal.

Fiona and Madison return home. They plot out their placement, and Fiona lays it on her, that she's the next Supreme. Madison's powers are growing because she's siphoning Fiona's. She's dying, she has cancer, and won't last much longer. Fiona refuses treatment, preferring to go out on top. She spent her lifetime squandering her gifts, and she plans to make up for it by being a better mentor for Madison, to be more like her mentor. She bestows upon Madison the very knife that she used to kill her own mentor, she begs Madison to kill her to take her power, but Madison doesn't, and instead winds up the one with her throat slit. Spaulding, ever helpful is there. Fiona tells him to bury her deep, and she relaxes as if nothing happened. Madison was obviously not the Supreme.
