Just in case you missed it I’m reviewing all the issues of Damaged, gearing up for Damaged #5 out February 1st. Here are the reviews for #1, #2, #3.

Before we dive in a little recap. The mafia in San Francisco is under attack, Henry Lincoln has been traveling the world dispensing his brand of justice, which finally led him home. While his brother Frank Lincoln hasn’t been able to escape the one mistake they share that could undo his entire career. He’s been put out to pasture, forced into an early retirement because the police force is under heat after Isaac Lordsman did nothing more than watch some very bad men burn. Still he’s teamed up with his replacement Jack Cassidy to stop Henry before he can burn the entire city to the ground but so far they’ve managed to be a step behind, and now Henry has Isaac his own prodigy for the cause, and no one is safe.

The months since Henry broke Isaac out of the pokey haven’t been easy on Frank and Jack. As the mayor’s rating declined with Henry and Isaac on their righteous rampage, Jack fell from grace, and Frank’s eminent retirement was pushed to the side.

But Frank isn’t doing so well under pressure, racked with guilt he makes a full confession to Jack about the high ranking pedophile ring that he and Henry set ablaze so many years before. He’s ready to sing like a bird, but it’s up to Jack to deliver his full confession, a confession that’ll not only expose all the parties involved, but rock Henry to his core, and make Jack question everything.

The revelations of this one are huge, with plenty of emotional fallout still to come. As the story continues to unfold it just gets better and better. And the anticipation for the next one makes my fingers itch. I cannot wait to dive into #5.

Revealing Eden receives prestigious award and rave reviews‏

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Save the Pearls Part One REVEALING EDEN Receives Critical Acclaim and
is Lauded the Best YA Fantasy Award by Books & Authors
Victoria Foyt's sophomore Young Adult novel garners rave reviews by prestigious
critics, periodicals, writers and bloggers nationwide and internationally

Santa Monica, Calif.,
(January 2012) – Sand Dollar Press, an independent publisher of fiction for young adults and women, announced that Save the Pearls Part One REVEALING EDEN, a groundbreaking Young Adult, fantasy/adventure romance novel by Victoria Foyt, was awarded “Best YA Fantasy Novel” by the prestigious Books & Authors, and received a multitude of rave reviews from the San Francisco City Review, Fresh Fiction, The Huffington Post, Readers Favorite, Examiner and The Midwest Book Review, among many others.

Released January 10, 2012, Save the Pearls Part One REVEALING EDEN has been likened to bestselling post apocalyptic books and dystopian fare including Twilight and The Hunger Games. The Sacramento Book Review and The San Francisco Book Review gave Revealing Eden five stars, deeming it “An original and thought-provoking concept of the future Earth and those who inhabit it.” It was “Very much recommended” by The Midwest Book Review and author Marianne Williamson called it “A fascinating story... for lovers of all ages.”

In Save the Pearls Part One REVEALING EDEN, Foyt examines themes of beauty, racism and the deteriorating environment. Foyt said of her new book: “Revealing Eden turns the tables on racism: what if extreme changes in the environment put Caucasians at a disadvantage? I’m thrilled by the enthusiastic responses of reviewers and readers. Who knows, maybe this novel will change the way we look at earth, and each other.”

Sand Dollar Press Head of Marketing Chaton Anderson commented, "Revealing Eden has something for everyone—the fantasy/adventure romance plot transcends genres to fuse dystopian, urban fantasy, and post apocalyptic themes with a bit of sci-fi mixed in.” She added, “Victoria Foyt touches on so many critical themes while taking us on an entertaining rollercoaster ride that provokes readers to examine their preconceived notions of beauty and race, while reminding us that true love can exist in even the most challenging circumstances.”

Available at SavethePearls.com and major online retailers as a hardcover and an e-book, Save the Pearls Part One REVEALING EDEN is the first installment of a trilogy. Advanced Readers Copies garnered unparalleled positive reviews and other authors also offer praise. Jerrilyn Farmer, author of the award-winning Madeline Bean mysteries, called it "Wickedly clever and hard to put down," and Butterflies author Martha Goldhirsh said, “Revealing Eden is a great fantasy love story! Foyt conjures up other worlds like J.K. Rowling does... no matter how the world changes, the difference between the sexes is eternal and the heat from solar radiation is no match for the heat between a man and a woman."

Foyt’s first young adult novel, The Virtual Life of Lexie Diamond, garnered rave reviews and was recommended by the Center for Children’s Books. In addition, it earned a five-star, “must-read” rating from TeansReadToo.com. The success of this coming-of-age, mystery young adult novel inspired Foyt to write the Save the Pearls series. Foyt’s career also includes co-writing several critically acclaimed feature films, Going Shopping (2005), Déjà Vu (1997), Last Summer in the Hamptons (1995), and Babyfever (1994).

Hung Alum Is The CW's Green Arrow

It's time to dash those Justin Hartley Green Arrow dreams. The handsome Hartley won't be slinging arrows over at the CW. Warner Bros. TV has their sights on Hung alum Stephen Amell. I don't watch Hung, I can't say if he's a good actor, or if the show will ever air (anyone remember Wonder Woman?) but I'm a sucker for blue eyes and I like what I see so far, but I retain the right to change my mind.

Thusfar, Arrow is said to be a “modern retelling” of the DC Comics character’s story, and not a spin-off, which is probably what killed Hartley's chance of donning the Emerald Archer garb again. Sources claim that Harley was never even considered.

Amell will star as the Green Arrow and his billionaire-playboy alter ego, Oliver Queen. David Nutter, who helmed the Smallville pilot, is on board to direct Arrow, off of a script from Andrew Kreisberg (Justice League, Warehouse 13), Greg Berlanti (No Ordinary Family) and Marc Guggenheim (the big screen’s Green Lantern).

I'm not sure if Amell can fill Hartley's shoes, but he's definitely built for the task, if his six pack are any indication.

What do you think about the new Green Arrow? I think I'll be looking out for Arrow if it makes it to TV.

Lost Girl Recap S1E3: Oh Kappa, My Kappa

The morning after with Dyson, and Bo wants a little more when she finds him still alive. Dyson is more than happy to comply. Though both keep trying to keep their distant, its clear that’s the last thing they really want.
Enter in this week’s problem. A girl runs in the woods, and comes upon a great big hole.
Kenzi finds Dyson in the bathroom, and can barely control her excitement, and happiness for Bo. While trying to nettle Bo on Dyson’s good, Bo finds Kenzi’s fliers advertising Bo’s detective skills. “Truth is for Pussies,” Kenzi tells her, as she convinces Bo this is the best job for her talents.

The girls meet with Gina’s mother, the girl in the woods. She disappeared suddenly, and giving up her sorority dreams just two days from becoming reality. The school and police are unconcerned but her mother knows different. Kenzi thinks the girl ran, but Bo wants to look into it, starting with seeing what Dyson and the cops know.
Dyson tells Bo what he knows, which is nothing. Nothing in the regular files, and nothing in the spooky files. He tells her he knows nothing, but gives her a file that he says he knows nothing about. A ten year old file in which the body was completely hollow. She asks him for another favor.

Kenzi looks into Gina’s financials, nothing on the financials or her cell phone. Bo comes bearing gifts, and Kenzi is mortified. Bo is going undercover as security, but Kenzi is infiltrating the sorority. Donning a blonde wig she does her death march.
Gina is still alive underground. Something swims around the glowing green pool, its chained and its hungry. Lucky for Gina it can’t quite reach her.

The head of security, Wayne, and Bo talk shop. She sees him take down a missing person poster, they don’t like to scare the cattle, unless the police notify them of the missing person. Which casts a big shadow on Dean Peretti.
Kenzi meets with the Kappa girls, and they accept her with open arms.

Bo introduces herself to Dean Peretti. Bo wants to investigate the missing teen, but the Dean is adamant against it, and Bo is forced to use her wiles on the Dean. The Dean tells her what a drunken frat boy said about the girl running towards the woods. An assistant interrupts , and Bo uses the pause to escape, which raises the Dean’s suspicions, and she calls human resources.
Kenzi is stuck in Kappa hell, and an all pink room. Tori is a little maniacal over the loss of Gina, but only because they lost out on other girls.

Bo takes a walk in the woods, looking for clues, and finds Gina’s necklace near a giant sink hole. Kenzi gives Bo her status update. “I’m still alive, bitches be crazy.” She’s convinced that the sugary sweetness of the Kappas equals pure evil.
Girls night in with the Kappas means shot gunning beers, and Kenzi’s wig comes loose. She covers quickly making the suspicious Libra look bad, but her cover is secure. Kenzi finally makes a break for it, to check out the basement.

Bo breaks into the Dean’s office. Kenzi doesn’t have a chance to find anything, before the Kappas find her. And they force her to rejoin the party. Instead Kenzi joins Bo, who hasn’t found anything yet. Kenzi tells Bo that Peretti is a Kappa, and the girls have to hide as the night patrol comes around. Wayne does a long creeper sniff of Peretti’s scarf, and Bo finds an envelope full of student ID numbers.
Wayne tells Bo about the break in at the Dean’s office, and Peretti takes a word with Wayne. Bo takes some maps home. Kenzi delivers the student IDs, and worries about what is going on in the Kappa basement.

Bo meets with Dyson. The dean is suspicious. The students all disappeared. Bo tells him her theory, which raises a suspicion in Dyson. New waitress, Kayla flirts with Dyson, and Bo wonders what his power is. He’s not telling since it would give away his weaknesses, but he does ask her to check in with him. Before she leaves he supercharges her with a kiss, which raises Trick’s hackles. Dyson isn’t being objective where Bo is concerned, and warns him off. No emotional attachments for the sake of the Light Fae. Trick tells him to end it.
Bo and Kenzi formulate a plan of attack, but Dean Peretti oversees their meeting.

Kayla takes another shot at Dyson.
Bo’s plan hits a snag. Kenzi is forced into the basement. She tries to back out, but her concerns are for nothing. It’s just a party, and there’s more hugging. Kenzi tells Bo it isn’t the Kappas, and as Bo heads to interrogate the Dean, she runs into Wayne and he tazes her.

Dyson watches the clock, and gets a panicked call from Kenzi. He smells death at the Dean’s door, and they find the Dean’s body.
Bo awakens in the pit, chained up. Wayne is behind the missing girls. He’s been taking girls to his fae, and drinking his “water” that restores his vitality. He’s been doing it for since 42, and he’d do it for nothing except seeing the girls suffer. Wayne rings the dinner bell, and Bo struggles out of her bonds to save herself and Gina before they’re gobbled up.

Dyson and Kenzi look for Bo in the woods, and Dyson strips down to search for her better. Turns out Dyson is of the wolfy variety as he sheds his skin and slips into some fur. Bo fights the fae, and Kenzi looks for Dyson. Dyson stalks Wayne. Just as the teapot headed sucker gains the upper hand Dyson knocks off his top. Bo asks Dyson about his lack of clothes and Kenzi wants to gleefully tell her why.
Back home, Kenzi finally gives Mr. Teapot head a name. It’s a Kappa fae. Wayne is going to take the fall for the crimes, and Gina will have her mind wiped with fae magic. And finally Kenzi talks to Bo about Dyson’s wolfy side, and Bo finally admits how she feels about Dyson. She goes to see Dyson, and finds him with his hands full of Kayla. Bo plays tough, but she’s obviously crushed by his set-up. And they clear the air, much to Dyson’s dismay, which doesn’t seem to make Trick as pleased as it should have.

Just in case you missed it I’m reviewing all the issues of Damaged, gearing up for Damaged #5 out February 1st. The review for #1 is here, #2 here, and now let’s get into #3.

First a little recap. The mafia in San Francisco is under attack, Henry has been traveling the world dispensing his brand of justice, fighting for causes until they became corrupt and he abandoned them, which finally led him home. Frank has begun grooming his perspective heir Jack revealing that the vigilante is none other than his own brother, while Henry has just found his in Isaac who awaits his own trial.

Holy hell, things just took an unexpected turn. Henry turns himself in and we finally get to know Isaac Lordsman. His childhood was less than picturesque with an abusive alcoholic father, and his harsh outlook on the present ring true. The system is inept, and they have their fall guy. He’s not a bad guy, just wants a more pure world instead of the corrupt one he has, sounds a lot like someone else we know.

Frank and Jack figure out Henry’s plan, but its way too late. Henry is way ahead of them, and no longer being green is completely working for him. Can’t wait to see how Isaac reacts to his new Daddy.

Halfway through the series, and while most are finally cresting the rise, and delivering some good action, Damaged has been doing that the entire time. This high octane series shows no signs of slowing with David Lapham cranking out some seriously good twists in his tale, and Leonardo Manco making them come to life in such glowing detail. Praises could not be higher for this series. My only questions is why isn’t everyone reading this?

Just in case you missed it I’m reviewing all the issues of Damaged, gearing up for Damaged #5 out February 1st. Yesterday was #1 and today we review #2.

Just in case you didn’t read my review of #1, lets recap. The mafia in San Francisco is under attack, the city is burning, Henry is not only Frank’s brother, and a former cop, but a killing machine. Frank is being put out to pasture. And Jack is trying to step into some big shoes, namely Frank’s. The department is under fire after one of Frank’s men, Isaac Lordsman watched a Mafia weenie roast, and Jack and Frank are forced to work together before the streets run red with blood.

Sins of the past come back to haunt as the moment when the brothers were placed on their current path is exposed. Henry wasn’t always a vigilante, like all good stories he was driven into it by circumstance and Frank not always so hardened and untrusting, but just one second, one slight hesitation changed the courses of their entire lives.

When Frank comes face to face with Henry, he’s not quite prepared for the reaction he gets, and Jack is even less prepared. Henry is a force to be reckoned with, but even the strongest of forces must find new energy if they want their causes to continue on, and both Henry and Frank see their future selves, the one who will serve and protect, and the one who will right the wrongs no matter the cost.

Another great chapter of the Damaged series. Seriously, writing doesn’t get any finer. If you like action, cop drama, insanely good artwork, then Damaged is one series you should be reading.

I’m a little tardy to the party picking up this series, and holy crap I’ve been missing out. But with the fifth issue of the series on the cusp of being released, I’m going to go back to the beginning and reviewing the entire series, as I await the February 1st release of issue #5.

Damaged #1 is a kick in the crouch. The story delivers blow after blow, and doesn't show signs of slowing. It opens up in the most dramatic way possible. The bodies of two girls have been found, and the guilty parties, and those guilty by association are promptly dispatched, and it’s all burn baby burn.

Wow, and the joyride isn’t over yet. Oh no, our “hero” Henry is just getting started I’m sure.

Meanwhile in San Francisco, Jack is getting a promotion and good cop, Frank, is being put out to pasture.  Fire and mayhem has been rocking the city, and the big brass aren’t happy. Hmmm, sounds like someone’s MO. Bad guys or not, vigilante justice isn’t allowed here, so I guess installing a bat signal is out of the question.  And Frank isn’t without his secrets, which as a new fire breaks out, just may uncover one of them when he comes face to face with Jack. For one his brother Henry is at the heart of all this trouble, and with his reemergance
Leonardo Manco does the phenomenal artwork in this piece. It’s extremely graphic and gritty, more movie than comic book really.  The twists in this tale are so phenomenal I was at an utter loss as I realized I was all out of pages. Radical has again hit the mark of combining vivid storytelling with amazing art. Check back tomorrow for the review of Damaged #2

The Grey Review and Red Band Trailer

Have you ever been in a theater where the entire audience looks like they suddenly hit a speed bump at the same time, where everyone for that one moment is so invested in the story that they scream or gasp collectively? Few movies have been able to do that in recent memory, but The Grey, does exactly that. It’s a thrilling survival movie that managed to slip in a bit of horror.

The Grey stars, Mr. Badass himself (seriously have you seen Taken or Unknown?), Liam Neeson, as an unlikely hero forced to lead a group of roughneck guys as they fight to survive and return home after their plane crashes in the remote Alaskan wilderness. Through death and despair, heartbreak and sorrow, they make the perilous journey to perceived safety as they’re forced to deal with horrific injuries, merciless weather, and oh yeah, a vicious pack of wolves.

Tensions run high in this Joe Carnahan flick, as he does his darnedest to show that you cannot kill Liam Neeson. Every man has a reason to live, but the one who is on the brink of death may be their only hope for survival. And wolves may just be the scariest of villains. They aren’t inherently bad, but that doesn’t stop them from ripping apart people. The viciousness, the need for revenge, the beauty, and intelligence, make for one heck of an enemy.

The movie is both gripping and heartfelt, interweaving the past and the present. The suspense runs high, and storyline is compelling. Carnahan and Neeson teamed up before for The A Team, but this is anything but the tongue in cheek romp of that one, it instead showcases Carnahan’s masterful storytelling.

The Grey also stars Dallas Roberts, Dermot Mulroney, Nonso Anozie, Joe Anderson and Ben Bray and hits theaters tomorrow January 27th, 2012.

And if you have any other doubts of the awesomeness check out the red band trailer below.

New Mirror, Mirror Featurette: Spell

Relativity Pictures releases a new featurette for Mirror, Mirror.

This makes the movie look much better, now I'm finally excited for Tarsem Singh's next movie. Not only are the sweeping visuals shown, but the humor shines.

Synopsis: Visionary director Tarsem Singh rewrites fairy tale history as a wicked enchantress (Julia Roberts) schemes and scrambles for control of a spirited orphan's (Lily Collins) throne and the attention of a charming prince (Arnie Hammer). When Snow White's beauty wins the heart of the prince that she desperately pursues, the Queen banishes her to the forest, where a ravening man-eating beast hungrily awaits. Rescued by a band of diminutive highway robbers, Snow White grows into an indomitable young woman determined to take back her realm from the treacherous Queen. With the support of her subjects, she roars into action in an epic battle that blends spectacle, magic and contemporary humor in Singh's signature, jaw-dropping visual style. -- (C) Relativity

The Amazing Spiderman has released an Official Movie Synopsis

One of the world’s most popular characters is back on the big screen as a new chapter in the Spider-Man legacy is revealed in "The Amazing Spider-Man." Lily Collins is Out of Evil Dead

Lily Collins has dropped out of the Evil Dead remake!

The sweetheart who next stars in Relativity's Mirror Mirror as Snow White, had the offer and was in talks to star as Mia, a young woman trying to kick a drug habit when demons far scarier than addictions rear their ugly heads.

The deal making stalled due to "scheduling issues."

Personally I think it's best for everyone, cause as adorable as Collins is, she's no Bruce Campbell, and there is no way her Mia could have stepped into Ash's shoes.

Kenzi and Bo are falling into the domestic thing, when Kenzi establishes a firm rule, no killing where they shop.

And then the problem of the week is shown. Hiker in the woods, flashes of green fire, but he’s determined and looking for something. And then he hits the mother lode, a chest of gemstones.

Kenzi looks to fill their crack house with nice furniture, but Bo says no stealing to the little pick pocket before a fiery visitor pops in. Putting out a couple of green flames, he finally introduces himself, a chunky Will-o-the-wisp, he’s the one that lost his booty. Kenzi perks up when he begins to talk about his treasure, and Will tells them about the human hunter. In exchange for Bo’s help, he’ll tell her about her family, if she has a birthmark on her foot, which she does. This information entices Bo enough to take the job.

Detective Creeper listens to Crazy Breath recount his latest lady encounter with a Gemini, as he tries to convince him to join next time with her twin, Creeper finds Bo waiting on his desk. He immediately jumps to the wrong conclusion, she wants him to run prints off a gun. He tries to warn her off the fae world, and when she goes to leave, he reluctantly helps. The Queen Bee is the Morrigan, and he finally agrees that Bo is dangerous, but he obviously likes her.

And Creeper takes Bo to a fae Bar. Creeper’s name is finally revealed, I swear I’ve been paying attention, but it’s Dyson, and the bar keep is Trick. Trick tells her a little about the fae as he has her sign in. She tells him the little bit that she knows about the fae, and he fills in a few of the gaps. Trick puts doubts in Bo’s mind about finding her parents, maybe they hid her to protect her. Dyson gives her the information on the gun, and tells her to be careful who she trusts. Trick has an idea who Bo is.

Kenzi and Bo head over to the hunter’s house, who may be a tad paranoid, if the shotgun door rig is any indication. Inside they find the hunter’s research materials, and a pawn shop that he might have visited, but before they can make a clean getaway his trailerpark neighbor holds them at gunpoint. Bo is forced to use her wiles on her, Kenzi steps in to stop her from killing the neighbor, and gets choked for her cock blocking. They leave the neighbor alive. Bo sends Kenzi home to give Will an update while Bo goes jewelry shopping.
Bo attempts undercover, but it’s not really her thing, so she takes a more direct approach using force instead of wiles this time. She makes the man sing like a canary, and gets an address.

Crazy Breath uses his soothing voice, to smooth over all the ruffles Bo’s been making, and Dyson gives her the benefit of the doubt when Miss Trailer-park ends up a grinning corpse.

Bo and Kenzi go to the motel, and Bo thinks to talk to the hunter, Connell, alone. Posing as a maid she gains access to his room, but he’s been expecting her and he has the hardware to prove it. Seems the hunter has Daddy issues. He’s a half-breed, and therefore powerless. His mom was seduced by Will one night, he was her savior, and she never saw him after that one night. It was never about the treasure, but Connell needed a way to talk to Will. But their little pow wow is soon interrupted by a guy who can remove his head, neat trick, but how the hell can the guy see to fight? Bo takes the guy out with a mop.

Another body, means its time to find Dyson. She finds him at the bar, and claims Kenzi to the fae again. He’s less than pleased about the bodies stacking up, but this one is Dullahan, a headless horseman, a mercenary of the fae. Dyson is concerned for Bo, and she asks him for Lauren’s number, though he seems willing to help her in other ways. Kenzi finds gems in the Dullahan’s pockets.

Will is busy putting out his own fires, when Kenzi and Bo step in. He claims to not know about the Dullahan, more worried about Connell. Bo tells him he’s a daddy, and his whole attitude and outlook changes about Connell. Bo goes to take care of something before meeting up with Connell, while Kenzi is on babysitting duty.

Bo goes to visit Dr. Lauren, who is reluctant to help because of the consequences for her. But she does, and she gives her an injection that was made for an incubus to curb Bo’s hungers. I don’t know what it is about the good doctor, but something about her gets under my skin, and not in a good way. I know Bo and Lauren will be paired eventually, but I just don’t like her.

Bo meets up with Connell at the storage and he’s a little bit in disbelief that he’s finally going to meet his father. Bo makes the call, and Connell locks her in with the gem. Was it me, or did anyone else but Bo see the double cross coming? He’s a bitter man, of course he wasn’t going to be satisfied with just meeting his father, he wants to make him pay. Kenzi and Will walk into the trap, and Will tries to explain why he didn’t stay with Connell’s mother. A Dullahan shows up ruining the un-happy reunion. Will hired them before he knew who Connell was. Kenzi frees Bo, and she fights the Dullahan. Kenzi burns the head, killing the Dullahan. Bo finally gets her story, and its not much. A midwife runs through the woods scared for her little charge, and that’s it. Will flashes out with Connell and his loot. And Bo asks for Dyson, she’s injured and needs to heal.

Dyson’s lightning kisses and hot body heal Bo up nice and right.

ATTN: Steve Niles and Menton3 Debut Nosferatu Wars in Dark Horse Presents!

STEVE NILES AND MENTON3 DEBUT
THE MUCH-ANTICIPATED NOSFERATU WARS
IN DARK HORSE PRESENTS!

JANUARY 23, MILWAUKIE, OR—When Steve Niles (Criminal Macabre, 30 Days of Night) premiered artwork from his upcoming collaboration with artist Menton3 (Monocyte, Proof: Endangered, Crawl to Me) via his Twitter feed, speculation and anticipation spread like wildfire across the Internet. Today, Dark Horse is proud to announce that this new vampiric tale will premiere in Dark Horse Presents!

The Black Plague was a time of death and misery . . . except for the undead. For vampires, the Black Death was a welcome relief from being hunted and a time of incredible growth for the undead. On the night of their wedding, two vampire lovers are torn apart and separated for five hundred years, setting off a sequence of events that will bring the modern world to its knees!

“I haven’t been this excited about working on something in a long time. Menton3 is the perfect artist and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be doing this at Dark Horse,” Niles said. “This year I’m making a big push to become 100 percent creator owned. Nosferatu Wars will be a big part of that, I hope.”

Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith redefined the vampire genre with the groundbreaking comic series 30 Days of Night in 2002. Ten years later, Niles is poised to make history again, as he and Menton3 blow the sparkle off of the undead in Nosferatu Wars, premiering in Dark Horse Presents later this year!

Amber Entertainment to team with Sherrilyn Kenyon

Amber Entertainment has signed a partnership with phenomnal paranormal novelist Sherrilyn Kenyon to develop and produce films, television and webisodes based on her books.

First up on deck to be developed is Chronicles of Nick, based on the young adult series. In the first book, Infinity, 14-year-old Nick Gautier discovers that the football team has been turned into zombies, sets out to stop the attacks and learns he has a key role in an unseen world.

Kenyon will serve as producer alongside Ileen Maisel, founding partner of Amber.

"As a longtime fan of the films that both Ileen Maisel and Mark Ordesky have produced, I couldn't be more excited," Kenyon said. "I look forward to working with them to make my characters flesh-and-blood people."

Kenyon is a long time fan favorite, having penned more  than 60 novels, and this isn't the first time her work has crossed media. Her Dark-Hunter series has been adapted into a manga published by St. Martins, and the Lords of Avalon novels have been adapted by Marvel comics.

As exciting as all this news is, I cannot wait to see casting for Acheron and Kyrian, that's going to be the real challenge of all this, since Kenyon's story is already amazing.

True Blood: There's a new Claude in town!

You either love what Alan Ball has done with Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire Mysteries (Sookie Stackhouse series) or you don't. He adds characters, changes up plot lines, and I've adored a lot of it, not all of it, but enough that I never question Ball, just enjoy where his version of the story goes. This is one instance when Alan Ball makes me nervous.

Meet Claude. His True Blood character is described as a smooth charmer who might shake things up in season 5. Newcomer Giles Matthey has landed the multi-episode role of a hot and mysterious British fairy. As to what he'll be up to exactly is up in the air at the moment, and don't believe anything that Michael Mcmillian says about the character, unless Chris Meloni really is a unicorn this season. One report claims that Claude and Jessica will be paired up, which may put a damper the truck bed and costume sex she has with Jason. As of right now nothing is confirmed.

In the books there of course is no Jessica, but there is Claude. There he is described as “the nephew of Sookie’s half-human/half-fairy grandfather, Fintan, and cousin to Sookie’s father … He makes an impact on all women and is described as being absolutely breathtaking , so lovely that his proximity makes Sookie tense as a “high wire.”… He started out as a stripper at Hooligans, a club in Monroe, which he later becomes owner of, and has branched out to print and runway modeling … He is depicted as being six feet tall with rippling black hair, muscles, and a six-pack. He has a pair of brown, velour-soft eyes, a chiseled jaw, and a sensuous mouth with a pouty bottom lip...Women usually say ‘wow’ when they see him, but his interest is men.”

I guess he could pass for the general description, but in the books Claude does do a stint as a Romance Novel Cover Model, and although cute Matthey doesn't really fit the image of any Romance Novel cover I own, or er, you know what I mean.

What do you guys think? Am I crazy, did Ball get the casting right? Or is he a little off the mark with this one? I guess all we can do now is wait and find out.

A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which Tributes? must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she's ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

THE HUNGER GAMES is directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobsons Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Suzanne Collins best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 16 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following.

Lionsgate will release THE HUNGER GAMES on March 23, 2012.

Elizabeth Banks talks Tink

While everyone is still abuzz about her turn in the Hunger Games, Elizabeth Banks continues to truck forward on her next project about Tinkerbell. She recently spoke with Movie Hole about the project.
The movie, says Banks, is a little like Will Ferrell’s “Elf”.
It’s a live action Tinkerbell movie sort of in the vein of Elf in which I would play Tinkerbell. Tinkerbell gets thrown out of Never Never Land, and it’s about where she goes and who she meets and the adventures she has….Tinkerbell is one of the greatest characters because she’s mischievous and snarky and fun and sexy and jealous and vengeful
Banks says don’t get too excited just yet….
We’re in script stage and everybody is really excited and blah, blah, doesn’t mean anything. You might as well not even write it down because who knows, it might not even happen.
Sounds a lot like Elf meets Enchanted two movies I adore, and I cannot think of a better actress to tackle the many facets of Tinkerbell, from sulty and sweet to tempermental, than the talented Banks. Marti Noxon ("Fright Night" "BtVS"), is scripting,  with Banks, Adam Shankman (“Hairspray”) and McG (“Charlie’s Angels”) among the film’s producers.

'Hunger Games': Katniss and Peeta ready to set the Games on fire

Every image released for the Hunger Games seems to rev fans up further. And while some fans were outspoken about casting, it seems that few are complaining about this one, because of its perfection..

EW released the current image of the moments just before their introduction, Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) readies a final flaming flourish to Peeta and Katniss’s black costumes.

“This is one of those moments where Cinna’s character syncs up with the creativity of our costume designer Judianna Makovsky,” says Ross. (Makovsky earned Oscar nominations for her work on Ross’ previous movies Pleasantville and Seabiscuit.) “What Cinna was trying to do was create something that came out of District 12, out of a coal mining world, with a fresh, bold look to it. So Judianna went to this wonderful black reflective material that glistened like coal or graphite and would obviously work well in the Tribute parade where Katniss becomes the Girl on Fire.”

Green Arrow Coming to the CW

Arrow, based on DC Comics' long-running Green Arrow, revolves around the hooded superhero, a wealthy playboy by day who secretly saves the city by night using his enhanced arrows.

The hourlong drama is a modern retelling of the legendary comics character and hails from Green Lantern duo Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, who will executive produce and pen the project alongside Fringe co-EP Andrew Kreisberg, with whom they worked on Eli Stone.

The pilot order comes less than a week after the project landed at the network. The project hails from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

My only real question is will Justin Harley be the Green Arrow again?

New Vampire Diarie's Poster for PCA win

To celebrate Nina Dobrev's phenomenal win at the People Choice Awards, the CW is releasing a poster to congratulate the actress.

And the win is all that much sweeter since Dobrev wasn't initially on the ballot, but due to fans diligently writing in her name time and time again she went on to win in the "Favorite TV Drama Actress" category. Congratulations!

New Images from Tim Burton's

Remember Dark Shadows? The gothic soap opera that aired in the late 60's, early 70's? No, well me either, but it features a motley crew of  vampires, witches and supernatural weirdos, which may just be the perfect material for Johnny Depp and Tim Burton's eighth collaboration.

Empire was on set, and learned a little about the 1972-set film version. The story focuses on Barnabas Collins (Depp), who was transformed into a vampire by a jilted lover (Eva Green's witch Angelique) way back in the 1700s and buried. He's just been dug up, and attempts to reintegrate with his descendants, led by Michelle Pfeiffer's Elizabeth and Jonny Lee Miller's Roger - despite the fact that Angelique is still around and still not in a forgiving mood.
Said screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith, "Tim and Johnny took a long time explaining exactly why it had to be 1972. 1969 was too early and 1973 was too late. 1972 is right at the time when the hippie movement and all its peace and love is dying out and being replaced by this me-me-me generation in the '70s who are all about showing their wealth and having everything."

And maybe the best news of all is that the film will not be in 3D. Producer Richard Zanuck was adamant on the fact. "We discussed this quite a bit. We didn't want to be categorised as another 3D extravaganza, because this isn't. We have action sequences, but mostly it's interaction between characters, and that's where the humour and the story come from."

Dark Shadows is out on May 11, 2012, and you can read more about it in the new issue of Empire, out in stores this Thursday.

Hack/Slash lands Conan director

Hack/Slash fans rejoice, it seems that the long awaited adaptation of Tim Seeley's action-horror comic by Relativity Media may be one step closer to happening.

According to Heat Vision, Marcus Nispel, who directed last summer's Conan the Barbarian, has come aboard to helm Hack/Slash, Relativity’s adaptation of a horror-action comic book. Alexandra Milchan, Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter are producing.
Debuting in 2004 at Devil’s Due Publishing, the series centers on Cassie Hack, the symbolic “final girl” of slasher films who survives the killing spree. Instead of curling up into a ball after surviving the horrors, she turns the table to hunt down the slashers themselves with her partner, a hulking, disfigured man named Vlad. The title has been published by Image Comics since 2010.

“I appreciate the many congrats on the H/S movie news,” Seeley wrote last night on Twitter. “It still may mean a hot jack-shit injection, but, I thank you anyway! Things to consider: Marcus Nispel is a really nice guy, he actually reads the H/S comic, and he has an amazing beard.”

Universal’s Rogue Pictures acquired the film rights to Hack/Slash in 2006, with Todd Lincoln (The Apparition) set to direct from a script first by Martin Schenk (Blast) and later by Ben Magid (Pan) and then Justin Marks (Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li). In 2009 Rogue was bought by Relativity Media. Lincoln was replaced with Swedish commercial director Fredrik Bond, and hired Stephen Susco (The Grudge, The Grudge 2) to take a stab at the script.

There had been no visible movement on the project since then, although Heat Vision notes that Nispel “briefly flirted” with Hack/Slash while Bond was still attached.

Nispel would seem like a good match for the slasher-hunting duo, having directed the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the 2009 reboot of Friday the 13th. He also helmed the 2007 remake of the Norwegian Viking film Pathfinder and the 2004 television movie based on Dean Koontz’s Frankenstein.
