Hungering for more Hunger Games

The March 23rd release date for the Hunger Games seems like a life time away, and the slow trickle of images and trailers are enough to drive a sane person bonkers. Today I have a few more stills from the film.

The first is Jennifer Lawerence as Katniss, the story's heroine, shortly after volunteering to take her sister's place in the games. Pictured with her is Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinkett. Let me just say I'll never look at magenta the same way.

The next is Katniss being escorted by guards, likely in the Capitol.

The next is of some of the other characters in the film including Katniss' mentor for the games Haymitch (Woody Harrelson), her fashion consultant Cinna (Lenny Kravitz), and the other District 12 tribute Peeta (Josh Hutcherson).

Other images show Katniss in the tube on her way up to the actual games. Both the trailer and these photos have avoided showing any images from the actual games.

Lionsgate's film adaptation of the very popular novels by Suzanne Collins is set for a March 23 release. Set in the futuristic world of Panem, the story follows Katniss as she becomes a contestant in the annual Hunger Games, a fight-to-the-death competition held by the government in which only one young person will survive.
