Every trip into the world of Orchid feels like a descent
back into crazy town. Instead of picking up where the story left off, we
finally get to see the other side of the war. Inside of Fortress Penuel, the
king is in a tizzy over his precious mask. You remember the one that only
General China could wield without it killing him. Gletkin is having a less than
pleasant day, and it’s just getting worse as he’s replaced.
But his replacement has a sordid past, even his birth was
unusual. Delving deep into back story, the tempo isn’t so much slowed, as
changed. The crazy is about to pick up pace as Barrabas becomes a player in the
grand scheme of things. Demon, beast tamer, this guy is bad news, and he’s
headed straight for Orchid and Crew.
Simon is avoiding questions about their upcoming task. Oh
please, oh please Simon have a plan, because the guys you’re going up against
are straight crazy. While Simon may be smart he lacks the muscle that’s would
be needed for a straight attack, but
that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a shot getting Anzio out does it?
Another thrilling chapter in Morello’s saga. The action may
have slowed a little, but I see another peak ahead, and I cannot wait for it.
As Orchid’s small group travels onto Gath, and Barrabas is given the reins,
trouble is in the air and it smells fantastic. There’s bloodshed, Opal is back
to her usual heroics, and Orchid may have just jumped aboard the crazy train, I
know I said slowed, but I didn’t say stopped dead. Scott Hepburn’s dark art
compliments Morello’s twisted story to perfection.
