Last time we saw Buffy, she actually got out of the pickle
that she was in, when a police officer actually saw the truth. Buffy wasn’t responsible
for any of the recent killings. But what no one saw, was that the guy they
thought was responsible was actually working for or with someone else.
Which, leads us to Buffy in dreamland. Slayer dreams are
always a little strange, but rarely do they actually punch you in the gut. The
first Slayer deals a number of blows besides the physical one, and Buffy is
left trying to find the meaning.
Buffy gets help figuring out what the first slayer wants,
not from Willow, but from a fairy and a dreamscape that’s full of riddles.
The quest to restore magic is now in full swing, and a
revelation in this issue is huge, and its not that Buffy may need to soon look for
a new apartment. I can honestly say that I didn’t see that twist coming, not
because it was so far off base like some of the twists from last season, but
that it was bound to happen sooner or later, and that surprise I can only blame
on good writing. The writing for this season has been phenomenal and I hope it
continues.
