White Collar Season Three DVD Review
Hands down, USA Network has some of the best shows on tv,
not even mentioning their great comic con panels,m their cast exudes chemistry
on and off screen. One of the freshest shows in recent years has been White Collar, whose third season makes its way to DVD today.
The show stars Matt Bomer as everyone’s favorite sexy con
man turned FBI consultant Neal Caffrey. He’s always been one step ahead of the
FBI, whether working to catch a criminal, or solve a problem of his own. This
season we find Neal coming to terms with his dark past, and perhaps pulling one
of his biggest cons yet.
One of the best things about this show are not only the
partnerships that Neal shares with Tim DeKay (Peter), Tiffany Amber Theisen
(Elizabeth), and Willie Garson (Mozzie), but the interactions between all of
them. Bomer truly plays Neal to perfection, he’s one of the strongest leading
men on any show at the moment.
White Collar is
not only thrilling, it’s full of smart twists and turns, something that a lot
of TV is missing. It’s a smart, fun, and just downright well written show that
seems to fly under many people’s radars, but it’s also one of the few shows
that I know I will enjoy each time I sit down and watch it. If you haven’t seen
White Collar it is well worth it to
pick up all three season and have a marathon before the new season starts July
10, 2012.
On the DVD there’s the blooper reel, some deleted scenes
from throughout the season, an audio commentary on the season finale, a feature
called Jeff Eastin: @ddicted, and ‘Interrogation Room’, which is a trivia
challenge featuring the cast and crew. They’re all fairly standard features,
but the blooper reel is always a highlight for me. More than anyone else, Bomer
and DeKay play off each other, and they are hilarious. The commentary during
the season finale will make you wish there had been more, but there is just the
one.
White Collar Season 3 is available today on
DVD. Season 4 premieres on USANetwork Tuesday, July 10th at 9/8pm Central.
