True Blood Recap: And When I Die

Lafayette and Jesus have breakfast, and Jesus apologizes for pushing magic on Lafayette, saying that he’s ready to live a magic free life as Lafayette wanted. When he goes to kiss Lafayette, he notices that something is wrong, and Marnie whose possessing Lafayette stabs him with a fork.
Sookie is also doing the breakfast thing, when she flashes on a memory of Gran dead in the kitchen. She and Tara talk about Gran and heaven. She tells Tara that she feels like Gran is there,  and Sookie hopes one day she can sit on the porch with her grandbabies. Tara hopes to sit on that porch with her one day.
Maxine goes to Tommy’s funeral. Even after all that he did, she still had a soft spot for him. Sam tells her that no one ever taught him how to love somebody without hurting them, and Maxine tells Sam she thinks the same is true for him. She tells him to call her mama since they’re all the family each other has left.  Luan and Emma comfort Sam as Maxine leaves.
Jason gives himself a pep talk in the mirror before approaching Hoyt, who has a chainsaw. Not the right time to tell a man you’ve been bumping uglies with his girl, but Jason gave himself the pep talk so he must follow through. After doing the secret handshake he tells Hoyt that he had sex with Jessica. Hoyt asks how, and Jason tells him literally. Hoyt punches him, bringing up the boy code, and when Jason brings up having drank Jessica’s blood as an excuse, Hoyt gives him a few more good licks. And tells him that Jason will never have what he had with Jessica because something is missing inside him.
Jesus is tied up in Lafayette’s house. Jesus tries to get Lafayette to take back control, but Marnie laughs it off. She tells him that the magic is strong but clumsy. Jesus tells her that she sought possession because she was scared of being alone, Lafayette wrangles back control for a second, telling him that Marnie is homicidal and strong. Marnie back in control tells Jesus that she wants his magic, his demon.
Zombie Arlene wishes Sookie a happy Halloween, and she “hears” about Tommy’s funeral. She goes to see Sam, and  he thought she wasn’t showing up for her shifts, and she reminds him that he fired her. She gets her job back, and bunny ears to boot.
Marnie prepares, and Jesus tries to reason with Marnie, he tells her “you can’t trade magic like Pokemon cards.” She’s insistent though. Jesus wants to know what she’s fighting for since her coven, and Antonia are both gone. She threatens Lafayette’s body, cutting it, and Jesus caves, calling forth his demon.  She stabs Jesus, and licks the blood from the knife, taking in the power. As Jesus dies he tells Lafayette he’s sorry, and Lafayette wears Jesus’s demon.
Arlene tends to her kids, one whose dressed as Janelle from Teen mom 2. And Terry gets an unexpected visitor. His captain that he saved twice. Sookie serves Alcide a beer, and there’s apologizing on both sides. He makes a play for her. He tells her to follow her head, not her heart, because her heart can’t be trusted.  He tells her that he wants to be done with the drama, and he wants her to be too. He tells her to try harder to be done with the drama, and then the crappiest phone ring disrupts them and Alcide  has to run.
Tara goes looking for Lafayette and Jesus, and finds Jesus’s body.
Sookie lights the Jack o lantern’s and Holly scares her in her fairy getup. She tells Sookie that there’s nothing scary about fairies, but she’s obviously not seen real faeries. Holly smokes her wacky tabacky, and tells Sookie that she’s been having a bad feeling all day, and then Tara comes bearing the back news about Jesus. They drive to Bill’s, and Sookie learns that Eric has been missing since sunset as well.
Eric and Bill are tied shirtless to a stake, what happened to their shirts, who cares, really. They have no plans to get free, and neither are willing to call their children. Bill tells him “I liked you better when you were brain damaged.” Sookie, Holly, and Tara arrive on the scene, and Holly hurriedly makes a circle, Sookie blasts Marnie back with her microwave fingers, and they call forth their protection circle. But Marnie isn’t giving up, her fire lights around the boys, and there’s nothing Sooks can do. Holly, Sookie and Tara call forth the spirits to help. Antonia arrives and tries to reason with Marnie, seeing the good still in her. She’s unwilling to give up even after Antonia extinguishes the flames. Gran rips Marnie from Lafayette, and Antonia takes Marnie away from the pain of life. Sookie begs Gran not to go, telling her that she doesn’t know what to do. Gran tells her she does, that the answer is in her heart, “we’re all alone in the end.” As Tara and Sookie attend to Lafayette, Eric reminds them “We’re feeling a little crispy up here.”
Arlene goes to take out the trash, and she sees Renee. She tries to convince herself that he’s not there, praying and singing, but he’s real. He tells her that the ghosts of Terry’s past won’t rest forever and to run. Arlene is shaken.
Little red sexed up riding hood runs through the forest all the way to Jason’s house. Jason ices his eye with a popsicle, and Jessica tells him to invite her in. They get naked in the middle of sex, she tells him she doesn’t want to be his girlfriend. He wishes she would have told him before Hoyt kicked his ass. They agree they don’t know each other, and she asks if the sex can be enough for now. She’s dangerous, but Jason cannot get enough.
Pam is distraught over losing Eric. “I am so over Sookie and her precious fairy vagina and her unbelievably stupid name.”She’s watched him seduce countless women over the years, and he’s always left them, but as Ginger comforts Pam she clearly knows that this one is different.
Tara comforts Lafayette, telling him that none of this is his fault, that it was all Marnie.
Sookie feeds both Eric and Bill  at the same time. This time the boys are the ones in the robes, and it looks like its decision time. Bill steps up, being the gentleman, saying that if Eric makes her happy, she has his blessing. Eric jumps at the chance, but Sookie points out that there have been lies all around. She forgives Bill, and asks for his forgiveness. He give it to her. She tells Eric that she’s always wanted him, not just goofy Eric, but vicious Eric too. She tells Eric its over, and walks away from both of them.
Lafayette lies in bed at Sookie’s, when a breeze rolls though, and he knows its Jesus. Jesus appears, and forgives Lafayette. He asks how is he suppose to live with knowing he killed the love of his life. Jesus tells him to “keep breathing, Baby, it’s that simple.” Lafayette is a medium, so Jesus says that he’ll always be with him.
Andy brings Holly flowers, apologizing for taking her flowers the last time. He tells her that he was using V, but now he’s clean. Holly isn’t ready for all that baggage and Andy breaks my heart a little telling her “I’m lonely, and I’m sober and I can be good to somebody if they let me.”  And Holly asks for a hug, and Andy complies.
Sam tries to get Luna to stay, but Luan fears that if they’re too cutesy, and cheesy god will drop a brick on their heads, oh and Emma isn’t ready for overnights.
Jessica dresses to leave, and Jason thinks its his bedroom skills, telling her he’s willing to take direction. He asks her if its because there’s something missing in him. She tells him that “you’re funny, you’re exciting and you have the sexiest hip bones she’s ever seen,” but she’s leaving because she’s hungry. He makes the hooker analogy, and she takes it the right way, even offering some role playing. She drops fangs, before she can catch herself, and she’s out in a flash. A knock at the door brings a smile to his face, but its not the person he was expecting. Reverend Newlin is back with fangs.
Alcide goes to see about the call, and sees that his foreman has been glamoured. There’s a hole, a silver chain and it’s apparent that Russell is free.
Eric greets Nan and company “Hi Nan and Gay storm troopers.” Nan is pissed even more than usual, she quit, she fired, whatever. She was to kill both Bill and Eric, but she has other plans. She tells them that they can keep Sookie, who she knows is a fairy and then she makes the mistakes of calling the boys puppy dogs. Eric slaughters her guards, and Bill stakes Nan.
Sookie comes home to find Debbie in her house with a shotgun. Tara jumps in front of Debbies blast, and loses the back of her head, and Sookie jumps at Debbie. She shoots her with her own gun as Debbie begs for her own life as Sookie pulls the trigger. Sookie holds Tara and wails.
And that’s it folks for nine months.
