Saddled with a young child, he provides for her before setting off to track down her mother and the rest of the conspirators, only to find something far more frightening. Where the guards are little more distraction on Conan’s current quest, the flesh eating in the Acheron Catacombs prove to be the greater foe.
Another great entry in the Conan story, he’s thin skinned about being called a Barbarian but still proves he has a heart of gold. The story is a slow build, to a climatic cliffhanging finish. It remains fairly uncomplex, making it a quick and enjoyable read.
