True Blood Recap: Everyone Wants To Rule The World

The Houston Tru-blood factory is ablaze on TV. Human casualties are already reported, as Bill’s plans are set in motion. How will he recover from this tragedy when Sookie finds out? Eric, Bill, Rev Newlin, Nora and Russell watch the chaos with Salome as they prepare to dine on their current victim. Bill’s all “praise Lilith,” as Salome falls into another dogmatic sermon. Can someone please stake her already? Russell suggests that Eric says grace, but Eric tells him that someone more qualified should, and  Newlin volunteers. He says a witty prayer and Salome watches with annoyance. Everyone drops fang, and dines.

Molly’s access is denied entrance to the elevator, and the secretary won’t assist her. She returns the case to a locker in an interrogation room, and Eric catches her. She disables the cameras for 30 seconds to give them time to talk. She doesn’t have the clearance to get their plan done, and she has an idea to get around it, but it’s likely going to get him killed. He’s all ears, and I’m feeling squeamish.

Lafayette stares at himself in the mirror as Sookie waits to hear what he sees, but he only sees his beautiful self. Sookie’s a little on edge after seeing the wispy vampire. Lafayette isn’t really sure how to use his powers, but he’s still willing to charge her for his half hearted efforts. Sookie asks if he’s heard from Tara, and all he’s gotten is one angry text message. Tara will come around eventually Sookie hopes. Lafayette has his doubts, but his attention quickly turns to the ghosts bombarding him with their messages. Gran is there, he sends the rest of them away, and only delivers her message. Gran is glad that the “striptease fairies” are looking after Sookie and that she’s sleeping on top of it. Sookie finds a box beneath her bed.

Jessica is at the police station with Kenya, she’s worried about Hoyt, but Kenya just doesn’t really understand the whole story. Jessica tells her that atleast he didn’t shoot her in the head, as Jason comes in, and the tension level ratchets up a notch. But in Jason's defense she did bite him first. Kenya gives him the short version of the story, nulling Hoyt’s heroics. Jason actually gets it, and goes to reason that Jessica should be able to feel if he’s in danger due to their blood sharing. She should, but he’s gone completely blank. Jessica feels guilty, and shies away from Jason’s comfort.

Hoyt meanwhile is being dragged through the dirt, which vaguely reminds me of Sam’s same treatment earlier in the season. Looks to be a barn setting, and there’s a whole lot of growly animal sounds. Poor Hoyt goes from the hate group to the werewolves, who probably think he’s been hunting them. This is not gonna end well for him.

Luna ‘s in bed, hoping that her skin walking is finished. Sam wants her to go back to the hospital, scared that she’s gonna die like Tommy did. Luna refuses to lie in bed while Sam is out hunting the Obamas.

Arlene doesn’t want to trust the ghost, the last one tried to steal their baby she points out but Terry doesn’t see any other choice.  He’s going to end this one way or another, and he leaves her.

Pam watches the news about the Tru Blood factory, and Tara wants to start stockpiling the bottles, like everyone else is doing all over the country. Pam is being more rational. By halting the serving of Tru Blood, it only puts their human customers in jeopardy, thus putting them out of business. Tara raises a good question, what to do when they run out. Simply, they’ll keep up the mainstreaming charade, just as they have been, feeding on humans in private. Tara knows its going to be a bloodbath, Pam does as well, but they’ll put on a pretty front “our heads down, and our tits up, and keep the Tru blood flowing.” Tara broaches the subject of Eric, but Pam’s less soft side emerges, and she sends her off. There won’t be any hair braiding or pillow fights for these two.  Pam always turns up the sass when she’s wounded, and Eric has left a gaping hole in her soul, she is worried, very worried.

Eric mocks Bill’s strategy, and Bill maintains his change of allegiance, and beliefs. Eric thinks that Bill’s words are just an act, one that he’s laying on too thick. Bill fears that he believes what he saw, even though they were high. Everything he believes has been turned on its ear. Eric asks what he feels for Sookie, is she just one of the cattle now? Eric still sees the good in Bill, religious crisis or not, and tells him that they’re getting out of there. Eric tells him that they need to steal Salome’s blood, since the compound is on lock down. Bill takes the needle, but I think he’s about to pull a Brutus.

Sookie looks through the box for signs of the misty Warlow, but finds the normal family stuff, photo albums, birth certificates, etc, all stuff that she’s seen a million times before. Lafayette finds Jason’s framed report card, Linda Dearborne was his teacher, and she let him get away with everything by the sounds of it. Sookie comes across a newspaper clipping, and the pieces begin to fall into place. Bud Dearborne found her parents’ bodies.

Jason releases Jessica to her guards, but she’s not worried about herself. She wants to stay and help find Hoyt, but Jason won’t allow it. She leaves and Andy, Kevin and Kenya look through all of the stuff they found at the crime scenes. Kevin looks up the most visited site on the confiscated computer, and the images are disturbing. The hate group isn’t just about shooting shifters, it makes soup outta shifters and turns vampires into roasted marshmellows.  Worse, seems they may be taking pointers from the KKK, the masks, the cross, their leader called the dragon. Lightbulb, Jason goes to search for the dragon. He goes to interrogate the guy in lock up who shot Sam and Luna, and it gets a little violent.

Alcide leaves his pack. He flashes back to his father, back to when he was a teenager, before Debbie was corrupted and everything was shiny and new. His father instilled them and others with plenty of wisdom. The wolf feels his brothers and sisters in his blood, he’s stronger because of his pack. He not corrupted like man, looking to get ahead of everyone around him. He’s pure.  Alcide heads to Jackson.

Sookie goes to visit Bud about her parents. Bud tells her that it could have been a vampire, but they didn’t know it at the time that they existed, and just figured it was gators. Bud’s vampire hatred bleeds through, as he blames them for killing her Gran too, even though that was Renee, and not a vampire, no matter how you want to tell the story. Bud panics knowing Sookie is reading his mind. He’s hiding something big, maybe something as big as a Dragon? Sookie “accidently” spills her ginger ale on Bud, and establishes skin to skin contact as she asks about Warlow. But he doesn’t know anything about Warlow. She apologizes, and gets a frying pan to the back of the head. Bud and his sweetie drag Sookie off.

The reporters close in on Andy about the Shifter shootings. There have been shootings all over Louisiana, and the reporters aren’t the only ones interested in Andy’s answers. So are Sam and Luna. He cuts the conference short, and Sam and Luna tell Andy that they went back to the crime scene and picked up another scent, pig shit. Andy tells them to lie low, but they want to do anything but, which gives Sam an idea.

Patrick sneaks up on Arlene, holding her at gun point. He tells her to tell Lafayette that Merlotte’s is closed for the day.

Sookie wakes up with piggy noses nearby, and sees Hoyt laid out in the corner of another stall. Sookie reads his mind and hears that he’s high as a kite. She tests out her microwave hands, and they’re sparking nicely, when Obama comes in.

Andy and Jason try to figure out the connections between the suspects in the Sam and Luna shootings. Kevin finds that Bud had arrested both, Junior and Joe Bob. But Andy discounts the arrests. Jason blames himself for everything that happened to Hoyt, and Andy thinks he’s the worst sheriff ever. Andy contemplates retiring, cheating on his wife, and square dancing, when he sees something on the hate website of some of the idiots dancing around, which just so happen to look exactly like the boots Bud got for his retirement. Andy and Jason come up with the only conclusion that makes sense, Bud is the dragon.  Sam and Luna as flies overhear and buzz off as Andy and Jason spring into action.

Speaking of boots, they stroll into the pig barn.  Bud comes to apologize to Sookie for detaining her.  There have been cases for decades that all point to supes being the culprit and Bud plans to put a stop to it. Sookie knocks holes in his logic pointing out that Sam is a good man whose done nothing but try to help his community, but Bud’s Sweetie and likely the real dragon, seriously she’s far scarier than Bud, comes in with two Obamas at her back spewing her twisted hate. She believes World War 4 is upon them, and the Supes are already plotting to take over, to infect their children by buying up property one bar at a time. And ha, her name is actually Sweetie.  She tells Bud to give Sookie the ginger ale, but he doesn’t want to. Sookie tries to reason with Bud, but it only angers him, and fuels the hatred. Sookie wonders what happened to them to fill them with Shifter hate. Looks like Sweetie’s husband left her for a shifter, which semi explains her crazy, and Bud reveals that Sweetie is indeed the dragon. Now where’s a dragonslayer to vanquish the beast. Bud and the Obamas force Sookie to drink the tainted ginger ale.

The cop squad pulls up to Bud’s house, but no one is home. Jason spies a picture of Bud’s wife, and remembers her as not only one of his school teachers, but also that her family owned a pig farm.

Terry arrives at Merlottes, and Patrick calls him, demanding that he drop his weapons before coming in. Terry comes in unarmed, and finds Patrick holding Arlene at gunpoint. Terry held in their secrets even when they eat at his soul. Patrick admits that Terry has always been better than him, but that his wife is at home pregnant and he has to be the one to return to her. He releases Arlene and tells him that he’s sorry. Arlene stabs him in the neck with silverware, giving Terry a chance. Terry and Patrick scuffle, Patrick loses the gun in the fight, and Arlene comes up with it.

Nora sits before Lilith’s blood on her knees. Eric remarks how peaceful it must be to believe in something so fully, and how much Nora has changed, she’s no longer the power hungry bitch he once loved. Nora no longer aspires to sit in Roman’s chair. He asks how she found God, and of course it was Salome who lead her there. It was Salome who snuck her into the room when Roman was asleep, it was Salome who let her taste the blood. Each word further cements Salome’s death for Eric, it’s clearly written on his face, he’s going to kill her and save his v addict sister. Nora tells him that believing in something other than yourself is not weakness,  poor Eric, his heart is clearly breaking. He tells her that he wants to believe and asks for her help. She agrees to help.

Bill awaits Salome in bedchamber. Salome sees her actions as shaping history as Lilith’s chosen one. Bill doubts whether or not he wishes to be one of Lilith’s chosen before he beds Salome. But as he rolls Salome beneath him, its not her he sees but Sookie, who he sinks his fangs into. The dead Sookie turns into a bloodied Lilith and he bites her again. She then turns back into Salome, and he looks a little disoriented by the whole experience.

The dragon prepares to make a video. Hoyt and Sookie are passed out, and they prepare to feed Sookie to the pig. They throw her in, but Sam shifts from a pig back to himself and saves her. Sweetie the dragon makes a run for it, and the Obamas attack. Sam holds his own until the cops arrive. Everyone gives up, except Bud. He prepares to impale Sam with a shovel, and Andy is forced to shoot Bud. Jason finds a drugged up Sookie, and Hoyt. Luna chases down the dragon as a German Sheppard, and catches her. Sam checks on Sookie, she asks him if she dreamt he was a pig or if he was. Jason holds Hoyt, begging him to survive.

Patrick begs him to either shoot him or let him go. Arlene begs him to shoot Patrick. But Patrick plays Terry’s good heart against him, and tells him he has to do what his conscious tells him to, to do what’s right. Terry sees the ghost, and she tells him the same. He shoots Patrick, and she announces that the blood has been paid. She releases the Ifrit to take what’s his, and it takes Patrick.

At Fangtasia, business is good, the Tru Blood is flowing, which pleases Pam, until she sees someone on her throne with a snack. I’m not all that good at telling her happy and mad face apart sometimes, but there’s no mistaking she’s pissed about this. She lays down the rules. She tells the little goth thing that there is no public feeding in Fangtasia, and to get out of her maker’s throne before she stakes him. He tells her that not only are public feedings now okayed through the monarchy, but that Northman is history, and he’s the new sheriff. Oh Bill, what have you done?  He kick’s Pam, and announces that humans are open game. I hope Pam stakes them both.

Sookie asks after Hoyt, Andy gives her an update, and offers to drive her home. Sam comes to tell him that he;s not the worse sheriff, and Andy thanks him.

Russell tells Newlin about his first time, and how great werewolves on v are. Newlin never had a pet, and Russell looks to change that. He’s got a whole pack of them. Martha watches the entrance with disgust, and the ensuing feeding with horror. Russell immediately zeroes in on Martha, and offers her a drink. Martha tells him that she swore her life to her pack, but refuses the v. He makes an example of her, by stealing the adorable wolf Emma, and giving her to Newlin. Martha begs JD to intervene and he does. JD gets choked, and Russell and Newlin leave with Emma.

Alcide arrives at his Daddy’s trailer. He looks nothing like the strong, proud man that he was in Alcide’s memory. Alcide tells him that he lost pack master, and that he’s been a jerk. Jackson laughs, like father like son apparently.

Sookie watches the news. The remaining Tru Blood factories have been destroyed, Newlin issued a statement to the press calling the destruction acts of terrorism. Claude, Claudette, and Claudesia appear bearing food and tell her that the vampires are behind the destruction.

Eric leads Nora to a surprise. Molly disables the cameras, and Eric drugs Nora with plans to save her. Bill arrives just as they’re about to leave. Using Nora’s blood they access the elevators, but Salome and her g man hit squad are there. Bill’s betrayed them, claiming that he’s done this for Eric, that he’s been chosen by Lilith and that this is what God wants. Eric goes into custody without a fight. I don’t care if it’s all a ploy, Bill needs to find the pointy end of a stake and soon.
