Once Upon A Time S04E16 Recap: Best Laid Plans

Past. Snow and Prince Charming go running through the forest. They're tracking something, a unicorn. She moves to get it over with. He knows that she's worried about Maleficent's prediction that their child will grow up with a dark heart, but she could even be a powerful hero. She said that too. Snow and David approach the unicorn. According to legend they only need to touch its horn to get a glimpse of their child's future. Snow feeds the animal an apple and then they lay their hand on the unicorn. David sees a bright future, one where the baby is perfect and beautiful. He thinks that everything will be fine. Snow sees a different future. She will be beautiful, but she will rip her heart out and crush it literally. Snow tells David the child is evil.

Now. Regina doesn't understand how the author is trapped inside the book. Emma isn't sure. Regina wonders if they need to draw a key or something, ,but Emma isn't sure, only that they need to do it before Gold figures it out. Henry alerts his mothers that August isn't doing so well. They take him to Mother Superior. August has been changed by magic many times, he will need to be very strong to survive.

Regina tells Emma they have a bigger problem. Gold and the other Queens are after the page, but since its the actual door they can't, and if she comes back empty handed, then her cover will be blown. Emma suggests that they hand over a conjured page. Henry marvels over Emma's good magical skills. Regina doesn't think that a forgery is the answer, its Gold after all. Emma tells her that she can either use that or pull out and they'll protect her. Henry thinks the copy is good, but Regina thinks that maybe another type of copy would be better, and takes a picture with her phone. Emma sees the brilliance in it, since they think they're looking for an actual physical door. Regina hopes the photo will keep them on their wild goose chase. Regina hugs Henry, holding him too long, worried about when she'll see him again.

Emma and Henry come home, to find Hook with her parents. He reveals what Ursula told him before she left. Gold and the others plan to darken Emma's heart and turn her into a villain. Henry thinks that you can't unsavior the Savior. Hook knows that the author can make that happen. Emma finds it ridiculous, she has no plans to go dark. Hook knows darkness, its a funny thing, it creeps up on you. Emma thinks that no one gets to decide who she is. Snow wonders if it is possible that Emma could go dark after what they did. David doesn't. They were told that they had to guide her, but the author has the power to change everything, maybe even turn Emma dark. David and Snow make a quick escape.

Regina returns to the villains, they've been waiting. Regina claims that she didn't get the page, it was under a protection spell. The savior nearly caught her trying to break the spell. Gold isn't sure that he believes her, she's been gone a long time, and she came back empty handed. She's not empty handed though. Cruella isn't impressed with the photo, ruined by a glare. Gold sees the glare as something else, magic. The door has been sealed by it. He realizes that the author is behind the door in the book. He wants the page. Regina doesn't think that will be an easy task, since its being protected by the savior. Maleficent has a plan to take care of Emma.

Hook asks after the Wooden man child. Emma admits that he's not great. Hook hears in her voice that she care for him, just a hint of jealousy creeping into his voice. Emma tells him that now isn't a time for that green eyed monster, but he knows her preference for men in leather jackets. Emma assures him that August is only a friend. Emma asks him if he remembers her friend Lily. She had a hard time making friends, of letting people get close to her. August was a rare exception, and nothing more. Hook notices something odd, and tells Emma to look, right before they're hit by Maleficent's spell.

Past. Charming tries to get Snow to tell him what she saw. She refuses, afraid that saying the words allowed would make it too real. They come across a peddler, with a stuck wagon. Charming moves to help him, and offers him a drink. They tell him to keep the bottle. As they head back off, he warns them that Maleficent has taken up residency down there. They know about her all too well. He tells them that she turned into a dragon, and laid an egg. She's claimed the surrounding area. He advises that they go east, but the path is unclear. They could be lost in the forest for days. He tells them to stick to the path, there's a kind old man who will help them get to where they need to be. They take his advice, and head east. They travel until they reach the cottage, its the apprentice's cottage. He opens the door before they knock. He sensed that they were coming, and that they were at a loss over their child. They hear Maleficent's dragon shrieks in the background, but he tells them to pay her no attention.

Now. Gold tells Maleficent that she knows what she has to do. She does, but she wonders if he does. She needs her happy ending, and now she's changing their deal. Cruella and Ursula were a means to an end, Maleficent is more useful, and that's why he needed them to get to her. She just put the entire town to sleep herself, proving she's worth more than they were, which is also why he hasn't been a bit remorseful about losing Ursula. To keep her, he needs to give her what she wants. She needs to know what happened to her child after those heroes got rid of her child. She needs to know its true fate. After she gets him the page, and she gets her answer, the heroes will pay.

Snow walks fast, and David catches up to her. They made a vow to be good, but since the Queens have arrived, they've done nothing but lie. They want to turn Emma dark, and if they aren't careful they're going to help them. Snow notices that everyone is asleep, but they aren't. Snow thinks because they've both been under sleeping curses, but Emma hasn't. They rush back to their daughter.

Cruella and Maleficent sees how nonthreatening Emma looks under the spell. Cruella is tempted to ring her helpless neck, but Regina tells her not to. She claims that kill the savior at the moment would be ill advised. Gold tells her that the page isn't there. Regina is sure it was there, and it didn't suddenly walk away. Maleficent put the whole town to sleep, except those who have been under a sleeping curse before. Regina realizes that there is someone that includes.

Henry runs with the book. He's likely going to test his mother's commitment to Gold. Regina warns all of them against touching Henry. Gold sends the women after Regina. He has something else he needs to attend to. Snow and David spy on the villains, wondering what they're up to. Snow gets a call from Henry. He's at the sorcerer's mansion. He figured that when everyone fell asleep the bad guys were up to something. Snow warns him that as long as he has the page, he's in danger. David thinks that they should destroy the page. It would stop Gold from ever freeing the author. Snow worries what it could do to him or Regina's chance at happiness. She wouldn't get happiness from the author, but maybe she could find it on her own.

Past. At the apprentice's home, Snow asks him the meaning of their visions. Charming saw pure happiness, she saw pure terror. She wants to know which is the truth. They both are. They're all born with blank slates, and with the potential for good and evil. She wonders how to ensure their child's goodness. He tells them that there is a way. To banish the potential darkness they have to pay a grave price. He cannot simply banish the darkness, another living vessel would have to absorb it, a vessel also a blank slate. If they wish him to perform the magic, they need to secure the proper vessel. He tells them to be sure they want to proceed, because once its done it cannot be undone. Charming sees that its wrong, even if it insures that their child would be good, it would destroy another. Snow wonders if it doesn't have to be a child. The peddler mentioned that Maleficent laid an egg, and they've seen what type of person Maleficent is in both forms. She doesn't think that her child or offspring would be any different.

Henry hides beneath the table with the page. He stares at it and a light begins to shine from it, leading him to a drawer. Inside the drawer is a key. Regina finds Henry, and she's not alone. She didn't want it to come to this, but she had no choice. She told the other Queens that she could handle the retrieval, but they didn't believe her. She warns them off, touching her son. Maleficent has no plans to intervene so long as she does what she needs to. Henry at first refuses to give her what she wants, but she presses, giving him the eye. She's obviously telling him to slip her the fake. He hands over the page, and satisfied, the Queens leave to find Gold so they can set the author free.

Past. Ursula and Cruella complain about the cold. Ursula passes out, and Cruella is next as Snow knocks her out. Snow and Charming head in after the egg. Maleficent has filled her lair with shiny silver items in preparation for her offspring. Snow and Charming close in on the egg. They go to grab the egg, but Maleficent's tail is wrapped around it. The dragon rears its head, and breaths fire. David grabs the egg, throwing it to Snow. Snow warns Maleficent that if she burns them, that she'll burn the egg too. Maleficent turns back into a human, and pleads with Snow for her baby. Snow promises to return the egg once they're done with it.

Snow and Charming arrive at the mansion, warning him that the Queens are on their way. They've already been there, and left. He tells them that they took the forgery page. The real one is hidden in a book. He shows them where the page really is, David wants to take the page to hide it. Henry tells them that he's found the key and they can free the author. David snaps at Henry not to, and forces Henry to hand over the key. Henry reluctantly does. Snow thinks that they're on a slippery slope, on their way to being no better than Gold.

Gold goes to his shop to check on Belle. He takes his beloved and puts her in bed. He makes a confession to his sleeping beauty. His magic comes at a cost, and he's racked up an enormous debt. He's heart is changing, and he needs to change the rules and fast. He kisses her hand, promising to come back for her if he can. The Queens arrive, and Cruella wonders what he was doing inside. It's none of her business, he wants to see the page. They hand it over, and Gold sees that its a fake immediately. Regina claims that she was duped, but the jig is up. He's suspected her loyalties may not lie with them, and she's just proven him right. He has Maleficent knock her out.

Past. The apprentice approve of their vessel. The child's darkness can be transferred to the egg. The apprentice begins his spell, but some of the wording causes him concern, the distance shore bit for one. Once its complete, Snow asks about it being placed in the vessel, but the apprentice has cast it out of the realm. He sent it where it belongs, where it can hurt no one. Snow made a promise she cannot keep. They cannot return the egg to its mother. The egg begins to hatch as the portal opens to take it away. Cruella and Ursula have tracked them to this place, and they get sucked into the portal along with the baby. The apprentice warned them, once the spell was complete it couldn't be undone, and the baby is lost to their realm forever. He congratulates them. Their child is pure in intent, and heroic in spirit. Its up to them to keep the baby pure. They told Maleficent that they would bring back the child. They didn't know that baby would be sent to another land. They've made a horrible mistake.

David prepares to burn the page. Snow worries what they will tell Henry. She cannot tell more lies. She gave Henry that book to give him hope, and she cannot take it away. Regina has become a friend. She told Regina her secret, and Regina has risked her life to keep it. She cannot repay her that way. When Regina showed her her heart, she thought the darkness was from killing Cora, but now she realizes that it started long before. They have to tell Emma the truth, because heroes do what's right, not what's easy.

Emma looks shocked. This whole time she knew that her parents were lying. She wanted to believe them, in them. David tells her it was to protect her. Hook tries to comfort her, but she pulls away. She needs to leave. Snow tries to stop her, but Emma doesn't care.

Cruella thinks that they should just slit Regina's throat and be done with it. Gold doesn't plan to do anything like that. Maleficent doesn't think that Regina will help them, but Gold knows otherwise. He has something that will make her do his bidding.

Hook comes to check on Emma. She needs some time, but he's come with news. August is awake, and he'll be fine. They will all be fine. Emma wonders why her parents sent him, they knew that she wouldn't listen to them. They were right.

Past. Snow tells one of the dwarves to dispose of the mobile that Cinderella sent over. It's a beautiful mobile full of unicorns. Sneezy thought she liked unicorns. David excuses him, reminding her that its just a mobile. Snow doesn't want to be reminded of the mistake they made. She doesn't want to see it everyday. She's haunted by the baby. David is too, and maybe Maleficent deserved it. Snow thought that they were doing something brave for their baby. They were brave, but not kind. They were selfish, they're no longer heroes. David thinks that they need to find redemption, to raise their child right. To get there they have to be the best people that they can to avoid the stain of their actions. Snow asks what of their child. The unicorns could be a good thing, a reminder how easy it is to lose their way. Redemption won't happen overnight, but they can take the long hard path together.

Maleficent goes to Gold once more. Now that Regina is taken care of, she thinks that she should be taken care of. Gold points out that she didn't get the page. She deserves the answer. She has pain, but pain fades if you let it. Maleficent needs answers, she doesn't care how much it hurts, but she needs answers. Maleficent hands over the rattle. Gold reminds her that it was thirty years ago as he shows her the vision of her baby. It was a girl, named Lilith, or Lily. The same name as Emma's friend, and she's in this world.

Emma rushes to August's side. He's betterish. She claims that she's okay, but he knows that she's lying. She shows him that they have the page, and the key. She thinks that they should let out the author, and ask him some questions. Snow cautions her, that she's doing exactly what Gold wanted to do. Emma isn't worried about turning dark, but she has questions about herself, and her story. August cautions that the author behind the door may not have been the one who wrote her story. There have been may author's through history, its a job. The author was intended to record history for posterity, but this author didn't just record, but changed stories, which made some very angry. The apprentice is angered that the author forced him to perform that dark spell. The author felt that it made for a better story. The apprentice urged him to return the quill. He was making changes that should not have happened. The author went against his vow, and his position, and because of that he was banished into the book. The sorcerer and his apprentice are the ones that choose the author, and they took responsibility for his actions. Emma knows though that he still has the ability to make changes. August is surprised at how far Emma has come since they first met. Emma uses the key to open the locked door. Out comes the peddler. Snow and David recognize him, but before Emma can get any of her answers he runs off, disappearing without a trace.

Once Upon A Time S04E15 Recap: Poor Unfortunate Soul

We know Maleficent's backstory, and now it's time for Ursula. Hook and his men sail back to Neverland. He's bringing a ship full of cakes, in an effort to keep Pan happy until he can figure out how to destroy the Dark One. The sweet song of a siren lures the pirates towards the rocks. It nearly works, but Hook steers the ship away at the last moment.

The mermaid feels sorrow over nearly killing the ship full of people. Triton wanted her to kill the people, but she didn't feel that way. She wants to make people happy with her voice. That was the same thing that her mother wanted and she ended up dead. She doesn't think that all people are evil, but Triton isn't listening. He tells Ursula that he wants her back by high tide. So basically, Ursula is Ariel. How unoriginal.

Now. Ursula listens to opera out near the water. Cruella brings Ursula in to give a helping hand. Inside, August is still being questioned, and he still claims to know nothing. Ursula pulls a knife on him, but it does nothing to sway him. Regina has other ideas. He use to be made of wood, so she suggests that they light a fire under him. The light of the fire jogs his memory. Before the curse was broken he was in Hong Kong and there was someone else looking for the author, The Dragon. He died before he could get the answers that he wanted, but August did collect his research and bring it back with him to Storybrooke. Maleficent isn't so sure that she believes him, and neither does Gold, but he plans to go investigate himself. Cruella asks if they should go to step 2, and Regina wonders what they're still keeping from her. She stares into the fire.

Snow thinks that Pinocchio will be fine so long as he's with Regina. Emma isn't so sure. Regina may have convinced her that kidnapping him was a good idea, but she didn't have to go along with it, and thinks that if something happens to the kid then it'll be her fault. Something has happened. He got real old real fast. David's tracking comes up short. The rest of the tracks have been washed away. Snow thinks that they may not need the tracks as a cloud of black smoke comes straight towards them. It wraps around Snow, and enters her. Regina speaks through her, giving the heroes and update. Gold is back, as is August, and there's a bigger plan afoot. If the Dark One is back, then there is only one person who could track him.

Belle is shocked to hear that Gold has returned. Belle thinks its impossible. Emma wants the dagger, to hand it over. She tells them that Killian has the dagger, she gave it to him to hide. He hasn't seen the dagger since she used it to send the Alligator away. After the life times that he's spent searching for a way to get rid of the Dark One, he thinks that he would remember holding that sort of power in his hand. Emma realizes that it was Gold in the guise of Hook. Belle cannot believe that Gold has deceived her once again. Hook is angry. He thinks that they should have given him the chance to drive that dagger through Gold's heart. Emma reminds him that he would have been the next Dark One. Hook thinks that it would have been worth it. Emma wants to go after August, and Hook plans to right a wrong. He's going to find out Gold's plan by returning Ursula's happy ending, since he was the one that took it.

At the cabin, Regina pulls out her torn up page. She tells him that it appeared to someone really special, Robin Hood. The boy he became may not have remembered him, but he retained the boy's memories. Regina confirmed that Robin did find the page, but that the page depicts something that didn't happen, and she thinks he knows more than he's saying. Ursula jumps to her feet, putting all the queens on edge. She claims it was nothing, that she just needs to stretch her tentacles.
Hook blows on a conch as he waits for Ursula. Ursula wraps her tentacles around Hook. He's come to make a deal with her. The author isn't the only one that can give Ursula her happy ending, Hook can too. Hook knows that the Dark One is there for more than just the author, and if she reveals his plan, he will restore her happy ending.

Past. Ursula sings to a tavern full of men, Hook included. After her song, he approaches her. He recognizes her voice as the mermaid who nearly sank his ship, but ultimately let him go, and he owes her a drink for that. Sitting down, she admits that after she nearly brought doom upon his ship her father threatened her. She do his bidding or leave. She broke into his vault, and stole a bracelet to walk on land. She tells him that her father wasn't always prickly. He use to find joy in the sounds of her and her mother singing, until her mother was killed by pirates. After that her father used her voice as a weapon to bring men to their deaths. Her voice is all she has left. Hook sees that she has a rare gift, that her voice can soothe tortured souls. Hook tells her that his life has been consumed with one thought, just revenge. Her voice took away his pain for one moment, but he wonders why she's singing in the rat nest. She's saving for a trip, but he tells her that she doesn't need money for that. He'll take her. He tells her to meet him the next morning.

Now. Hook and Ursula look over the water. She asks where he buried her treasure. He didn't, its on the Jolly Roger. And his ship was left in the Enchanted Forest. Ursula can still open up portals, but she needs something from the Jolly Roger. Hook hands over a piece of the rigging. Ursula hasn't dipped a tentacle in the sea since she's been banished to this world, but she does so now. Hook doesn't think that her power worked, but it did. The Jolly Roger has just changed, its a ship in a bottle now.

Past. Hook gets nabbed leaving the tavern. He's brought onto his own ship to face Triton. Triton gives him a threat. He will not let Ursula near his ship. He shows Hook a seashell. The shell will take away her singing voice, and therefore the reason for her wanting to leave. Hook refuses. Ursula saved his ship. Triton offers Hook something that he's been looking for, a way to get rid of the Dark One. Triton tells Hook about magic squid ink, a single drop is powerful enough to paralyze any being, even Rumpelstiltskin. All he needs to do is steal her voice and show her how awful humans really can be.

Hook and Ursula head to Gold's shop. He didn't come to see Belle, but her current suitor, the Knave of Hearts. He needs the thief's help. Belle isn't sure Hook is really who he says he is, after the last time she was deceived. Hook jokes that now she decides to question his identity. Ursula points out that if Hook were the Dark One then lover boy would be dead. Very true. Will isn't feeling very helpful though, and Hook points out that they're one the same side for once. The key to getting rid of the Dark One is on his ship, currently bottle bound. Will looks at the tiny vessel, making size jokes. Hook cautions him, but notes that he spent more time in Wonderland than anyone, so he may have something to undo the shrinkage. Something comes to mind.

Regina looks at her book page when she hears Robin calling to her. He's returned, and she's overjoyed. He tells her that it doesn't matter how he got there, only that he's there now. He kisses her, and she pulls away, knowing that someone is watching. That someone is her, in full on Evil Queen mode, throwing fireballs. Regina awakens. Maleficent offers something to help her sleep. Gold returns. He found nothing at the trailer, he didn't even look. The man is a born liar, and he knows that he wouldn't have cracked so easily. Instead he visited the fairies magic supply. The potion can temporarily reverse any spell that they've cast. They made him real, so Gold plans to undo it. He forces the potion down August's throat, and turns him back to wood.

Emma, Snow and David make it as far as they can drive towards Gold's cabin. They worry if Hook has turned Ursula yet. David wonders if Ursula has turned him, since he went a little to the darkside earlier. Emma points out that if Gold had done to her what he did to Hook, she would have wanted to skewered him too. Snow is worried that Emma is turning dark. She's not, but she understands where he was coming from. She was worried about the kid, but he would have held back a little. The same rules don't apply to August.

August turns back to a human. The reversal was really short, except that it wasn't. Gold tells them that it turned the lie detector back on. August tries to call his bluff, but Gold was telling the truth, as August's nose grows. He pulls the former puppet closer to the fire as he questions him further, asking if he told them everything he knows about the author. He definitely didn't. The more he lies, the closer his nose gets to the fire. He tells them that the sorcerer trapped the author behind a door. He calls out Regina, that she knows about the door. She says nothing, but August claims that he gave her a book with loose pages. Regina claims to know nothing, that she gave that stuff to Henry. Gold goes back to questioning, asking about the door's description. August remains vague. All he knows is that it is somewhere in Storybrooke. Gold tells him that it wasn't so hard. Since the Sorcerer did the trapping, they'll start the search at his mansion. Regina offers to guard August, but Gold appoints Cruella as guard dog. Regina is the only one of them that has seen a picture of the door, so she gets to help find it.

Hook holds his ship near the harbor, as Ursula prepares to drop some magic mushroom juice on it. Hook cautions a steady hand to prevent a giant squid from terrorizing Storybrooke. Ursula delivers a single drop on the ship as Hook tosses the bottle. The Jolly Roger is back!

Past. Ursula sings her sweet song. Hook clears the ship's deck. He contemplates the shell. The young Ursula hoped that he wouldn't mind her singing. He has something to show her. He shows her the shell. Ursula fears the shell, begging him not to use it. He doesn't plan to, but he does tell her that her father offered him Squid Ink if he took her voice. He knows that her voice is all she has left of her mother, and he would do anything to keep something of his beloved. Plus he's got that hot pirate honor thing going on, but he is still a pirate. She stole the bracelet from her father's vault, and he assumes that's where he keeps his squid ink. If she were to steal it for him, then they would both get what they want.

Hook walks the ship with glee, taking in everything, including the smells. He never thought that he would get to be in it again. He removes his hook, which doubles as a key to his vault. He pulls out the seashell. If he returns her voice, she has to reveal every detail of Gold's plan. He places the shell in her hand, and the voice comes out, but not back to her. It didn't work. She realizes that Hook was wrong. Villains can't get happy endings. She never should have believed him when he said that they could do it without the author. Ursula calls off their deal, but Hook can't have it end there. He grabs a pistol, pointing it at Ursula. She thinks he's selfish, and she uses her tentacles against him, knocking him out and throwing him into the sea. Hook gets saved though, but Ariel.

She throws him onshore, and he wakes up. After making sure that he's okay, she slaps him for throwing Blackbeard overboard before she could get Eric's location. She went through a lot to find him. Hook wonders why she's there, since she did find Eric and was living happily ever after. She was, until she got trapped in that bottle. She followed Blackbeard when he had the Jolly Roger, and he terrorized a lot of people, including Arendelle. Elsa trapped the boat and shrank it as punishment, and Ariel accidentally got swept up in magic. Ariel asks if it was the real Ursula, and why she threw him overboard. It was. He promised something that he apparently couldn't deliver, and now his faith in villains getting happy endings has been shaken. Ariel thinks that maybe its because villains always go about getting them the wrong way.

Past. Ursula delivers the squid ink. He couldn't have accomplished this without her help, and asks where she would like to go. Before she can answer her father arrives. Hook tells his men to stand down, that the King is there for him, but Ursula knows that he's there for her. She calls him out on what he asked of Hook. He was trying to take away the only thing she has left of her mother. He was trying to protect her. Triton turns his ire on Hook, he may have Ursula fooled, but he sees the pirate for what he is. He only cares about one thing, his vengeance. Triton causes the ink to disappear, and Hook tries to raise his sword against him, but Triton blocks him. Hook lashes out, he's not the only one consumed by vengeance. He uses the shell against Ursula, stealing her voice. Now Triton will never be able to crash another ship. He promised to never steal her voice and he lied. Ursula sees that not only is her father a tyrant, but Hook is no better. She thinks that if all humans are like him, then none of them deserve to hear her voice. She leaps into the sea. Triton asks for the shell in Hook's hand, but Hook refuses to give it back, threatening to smash it instead.

Cruella looks at August approvingly. She's glad that the spell was short-termed, since she finds his scruff appealing. Emma busts down the door. She's there for August. Cruella pulls a gun on her, and before she can use her magic, Snow knocks her out with a frying pan. The back doors are usually open. Emma is glad to see August back as himself, and he's impressed that she's been practicing her magic as she makes his bindings vanish. Before they can make a getaway Ursula returns. She gleefully tells them that Hook is shark bait before turning her tentacles on Snow. Emma raises her hands to unleash some fury, but Ursula has her tentacles wrapped around Snow's throat.

Past. Triton apologizes to his daughter. He thinks that he had no choice. Ursula points out that her voice was all that she had left of her mother, and because of him its gone. He wanted her to choose a side, and she's choosing herself. She grabs his trident, refusing to remain his precious little mermaid. He named her after the sea goddess of old, who was strong and powerful, and that's who she wants to be. She turns herself into a force to be reckoned with, one more powerful than him that should be feared.

Now. Ursula holds Snow, and Emma tries to talk her out of what she's doing. Ursula can't let them leave with August, he's the only one that has a lead on the author, and they need him for happy endings. Hook arrives, to tell her that her thinking is wrong. Ursula is surprised to find him still breathing. She's either bad at killing or he's good as surviving. He knows why she couldn't release her voice from the shell, only the one who enchanted the shell can release it. Hook has brought King Triton with him. She doesn't understand how he is there in the land. He tells her that a young mermaid brought him through the portal. He apologizes for trying to use her as a weapon. Her voice hurt him because it reminded him of her mother, and rather than appreciating that it was a part of her, he wanted to destroy it. He asks if he can return her voice, and hear it one last time. She accepts and he returns it. With her whole, he turns to leave her in peace, but that's not what she wants. She doesn't want her father to miss out on the last piece of her mother, and she's missed him. The others realize that Cruella has left, and they prepare to vacate before the others get back. Emma is proud that Hook gave Ursula her happy ending, but Hook realizes that he almost didn't. He nearly slipped back into his old ways, so bent on finding out the crocodile's plans. Whatever mistakes that he almost made with Ursula, he recovered. He's not the man he was. Hook points out that with all the talks of authors and the book, they've never talked about him losing his happy ending. Emma thinks that he's a hero now, but so is Regina, and she lost hers, so its only a matter of time before he loses his happy ending, with her. Emma sheds a tear as she kisses him. How did she not realize that she was his happy ending before this?

Regina marvels at their lack of findings. Gold knows if the author is in Storybrooke then they will find him eventually. Cruella comes crashing in. Gold sees that she's missing August. She tells them that the heroes have rescued him, they had a mole, Ursula. She traded them in for a reunion with Daddy. August may be gone, but they still have his information. He tells Regina to get the picture of the door, they may be able to find something in it that August missed.

Hook walks Ursula to the harbor. It's goodbye, but first, she needs to hold up her end of the bargain. She reveals Gold's plan, it involves Emma. The author can't just change things in this world. He didn't give everyone their happy endings in this world, Emma did. With the savior there, the author's hands are tied. So in order to free him to give the villains happy endings, Gold will have to destroy Emma. He will fill her heart with darkness forever.

Emma is back at the apartment. Regina is glad to see that August is okay. Emma admits that it was because of her message. Regina has another problem, she tells Emma about her dream where she, as the Evil Queen, wrecked her own happy reunion with Robin Hood. Emma thinks that she is afraid of the villain that she use to be, and could become again. Regina doesn't think its that simple. She thinks that the Queen was there to protect Robin. Emma use to track people for a living, and she asks if she could get her a way to contact Robin. Emma can certainly do that. August wakes up, and Henry calls Emma over. August isn't happy to see Regina, but Emma assure him that she's okay. Regina reveals to him that the only reason she's there is because Gold thinks that she's stealing the book page, but she needs help keeping her cover. They didn't find the door in the sorcerer's mansion. August reveals that its not there. Regina is shocked, he knows where the door was, since his nose didn't grow when Gold asked him about it. He didn't know where the door was at the time, since he didn't know where Henry had the book. The door is in the book. The author is trapped inside the book.

Once Upon A Time S04E14 Recap: Enter the Dragon

Regina is back to being bad, or atleast pretending to be. She heads into Granny's diner to see her old frenemy Maleficent. The dragon is back from the ashes and Regina is ready to take the dragon on, but Maleficent isn't interested in getting revenge, she has much bigger fish to fry. Regina claims that she's been playing nice because she had no choice but she's ready to get back to her all too bad roots. Maleficent sees it as a ploy, but offers her a drink to prove her badness.

Past, Regina is upset over yet another accolade for Snow. Rumpelstiltskin mocks Regina, she taught her to ride and now Snow reaps the benefits. Regina is tired of watching Snow grow up, getting everything that she wanted. Rumpelstiltskin's lessons have gotten her nowhere, and she's tired of it. He tells her not to throw stones, and what Maleficent did by taking her time. Regina sees it as yet another stall, and tells her that if she thinks that she can rush things maybe she should go to Maleficent herself. He transports her to the eternally burning tree, and Regina takes up his offer and heads to the castle.

Emma hears about Regina's plan, and doesn't like it in the least. But Regina is suppose to check in which brings little comfort since she's missed her time window.

Regina sits in the cars with the other Queens of Darkness. Regina tries to find out how Cruella and Ursula managed to resurrect Maleficent. The girls don't exactly trust her yet, so they're not spilling the beans. Instead Maleficent looks to test her. She parks on the tracks, where a speeding train is rushing towards them. Whoever saves them first loses. The train barrels towards them, and just shy of impact Regina uses her magic to transport them to safety. Maleficent pays up, and wonders if Regina has gotten soft. Regina claims she's just rusty, and suggests that they go out and get into some real trouble.

Henry looks for more clues to the Author's identity from the page that appeared to him. Belle checks on him to see if he found anything. He's sure the door in the picture has something to do with it, he just has to figure out what.

Hook has found little at Granny's besides some empty liquor bottles and an angry Granny. The Queens are gone, and so is Regina. Emma is even more worried.

Snow and David are out looking for Regina too. Snow is starting to think that maybe this isn't a good idea. Does Snow ever have good ideas? She spots a burned out car next to the river, its one of the sheriff cars. Regina comes out of nowhere. The burned out car was Maleficent's idea of a good time. She needs to go back in, since she was able to find out little about the powerful thing that the three were hiding. The night did establish trust through, so while she had to seek out Maleficent the night before, now she thinks Maleficent will come to her.

Past. Regina sought out Maleficent then too. Armed with little more than a book and a plea, Regina confesses that she's been studying magic, and wishes for her to teach her more. A disembodied voice, Maleficent tells her to light the fire. Regina worries over the task, but does it all the same. Maleficent saunters out, clearly drunk. She hasn't had a decent fire in ages. She's less than what she was, all because of a briar rose and a kiss. Regina thinks that Maleficent just needs to remember what she was. Maleficent is ill tempered, sending her and her insinuations away.

The ladies return to the cabin. Gold is surprised to hear that they were out with Regina. He ensures that they didn't tell her where they were hiding, or that the thing that they were hiding was him. The girls wonder if Regina will truly help. Gold isn't sure. Regina went dark with heart break, and she's just had her heart broken again, so its possible. Everyone will need to choose a side in the upcoming war they're about to start, Regina included.

Past. Regina walks away from Maleficent's castle when she's happened upon by a man offering to take her to the next kingdom. He tells her that Briar Rose's daughter is going to be married. Regina takes this news back to Maleficent, who doesn't know why Regina would care so much. If someone as powerful as Maleficent can't get their revenge, then Regina never would. Maleficent sees a kindred soul in Regina, she too lost someone close to her, and the girl responsible still lives. Maleficent tells her to give up, to find another hobby. Regina sees the wedding as a reason to get up, to become a dragon once more. Maleficent reveals that she can't turn into a dragon anymore, she lost that fire. Regina thinks that they should work to get that fire back.

In Regina's tomb, she works to clean up. Maleficent apologizes for not staying to clean up. Regina thinks that Maleficent needed the beauty sleep more than she did. Last night was fun, but the morning after hang over, not so much. Maleficent offers her some aspirins, she needs her sharp. Maleficent reveals to her that they too are looking for the author, that Gold spilled the beans in New York. Regina tells her that they won't get any closer to finding the author than she has, but Maleficent thinks she needs better allies. Maleficent won't show her whole hand, but she has something she wants Regina to do.

Regina meets with Team Hero. She asked for a covert meeting, but didn't expect the Charmings, Emma and Hook. Evil has a plan, and Regina means to stick it out. She reveals that Evil is looking for the author too, but not just for happy endings. They want an entire shift of power, for Evil to triumph, and for everyone else's happy endings to be destroyed. Emma wants to go undercover with Regina, and she's not negotiating. She's all in for Operation Mongoose, and to protect Regina however she can.

Cruella's car rolls down the street, as Regina waits with Emma watching closeby and the doors open. No one is inside. Maleficent sneaks up on Regina, telling her that its just them tonight.

Belle offers the Knave a bite of delicious chocolate cake. She tells him its to die for. Hook drops in on the pair, and Will asks to take it outside, rather than fighting in front of the lady. Hook isn't there for Will, but for Belle. Alone, Hook reveals Regina's intel. They're powerful witches who are seeking more power. Hook thinks that they're after the dark one's power, for themselves or to control him. Hook suggests that they move the dagger from its hiding place, and there's no one better to bury treasure than him.

Emma continues to track Regina. Regina and Maleficent arrive at Marco's house. Regina notes that the thing of power couldn't possibly be in his house, but Maleficent tells her it is, his son Pinocchio. Regina has already gone this route, trying to gleam information from August, but when he was turned back into a boy he lost all his memories. Maleficent wonders if Cruella wasn't right, that Regina has gone soft. Regina has spent too much time around heroes, she's forgotten who she is. Maleficent taunts her, if she wants to prove herself, she will steal the little boy.

Past. Maleficent doesn't care that there is still a tree that burns from her dragon fire. Regina sees its as her spark, she just needs to reclaim it. Maleficent redresses in all her glory, and goes out to the tree. She sucks in the fire, but she's not sure that she's back. King Stephen rides in with his men, threatening Maleficent, telling her that if she intends to try to stop Aurora's happiness as she did with Briar Rose's he will put an end to her. Maleficent doesn't appreciate his threats, and tries to transform into a dragon, but finds that she cannot.

August works hard in Marco's workshop on a rocking horse, which looks to be a perfect work when Regina arrives. Marcos asks if everything is alright. With a wave of her hand, Regina puts them both to sleep. Regina is reluctant to complete the next step. Emma sneaks in. She felt Regina casting the sleeping spell, and her gut told her something was wrong. Emma wants to pull the plug on the mission. Regina is sure that the Queens will get the boy regardless, at least this way she can keep them from harming him. The Villains have taken a page from the Hero handbook, and are working together. Its time the Heroes broke some rules. Emma doesn't like it, but she agrees. Regina can move forward with the plan, but Emma doesn't like what she sees, she's going in after her. Regina emerges with August in her arms, and Maleficent welcomes her back.

Past. Stephen bound both Regina and Maleficent to take them back with him. Regina works on burning her ropes. She refuses to go out this way. Maleficent warns that there are too many of them, and Regina admits its true, but she has to try. Regina burns her way through the ropes and tosses a fireball at the soldiers. She's out of magic, not strong enough to conjure more. Maleficent watches Regina, and decides to take action too. She transforms into a giant dragon. The beast is back.

Emma looks at her tracker, and realizes that Regina has ditched her phone and gone rogue. Emma finds Regina's phone with a simple message of “I got this.”

Past. Aurora prepares for her wedding when Maleficent surprises her. Her father told her that he would protect her, but he failed. She considered killing Briar Rose, and King Stephen, but that wouldn't cause enough pain. Aurora knows that her mother defeated Maleficent, and thinks she can too with her true love. But Maleficent has a plan, and she has her own special curse in mind for Prince Phillip. She pricks Aurora's finger, sending the princess into slumber. Regina feels inspired by Maleficent's wickedness. Maleficent gives Regina some of the credit, for reminding her who she is.

Belle and Hook go to retrieve the dagger. She asks if he knows where he plans to hide it. He does, but thinks its best if she doesn't know where. He tells her that she won't see him again until the deed is done. Belle goes to hand over the dagger and hesitates. She has a nagging feeling that Gold is already in town. The dagger is her only protection against him. Hook suggests that she use the dagger. If he is there, he has no choice but to come and face her. Belle calls out to him with the dagger in hand, and Gold doesn't appear. Finding that she's wrong, she hands over the dagger to Hook, who isn't really Hook at all. The dark one has possession of his dagger once more.

Gold pays his shop a visit, under the guise of Hook once more. Belle tends to her rose. He tells her that the dagger is safe once more, and he swears her into secrecy by a pirates oath. They cannot tell anyone about what they did. Hook spots the rose, its a gift from Will. He asks if its serious. She's not sure what it is. It's new, and nice. She's not sure she can ever get over Will, but for now Will makes her smile. Belle asks what the beef is between Hook and Will, and all Hook will reveal is that he took something that he cared for. Hook leaves, and spies Belle through the window gushing on the phone with her pretty rose.

Past. Rumpelstiltskin is curious how Regina was able to return so soon. She rode on the back of a dragon. Rumpelstiltskin was sure that she lost the power. She didn't lose it, but forgot how to use it. Maleficent showed her that she already had a good teacher, and that death may be too simple, too nice. She will take the time she needs to learn, and then she will get her own happy ending, she will get her revenge.

Maleficent takes Regina out to Gold's cabin. The Queens needed a hideout, and the hovel became available. Regina realizes that their dark magic isn't an object but a person. Gold exposes himself, dagger and all. There was no way he was staying banished long. He learned a lot about himself, sometimes the teacher needs to learn from the student, and sometimes you need to fall very far before you see the light. He's finally realized the same truth Regina knew, they need the author for their happy endings. Regina asks what he intends to do with the boy, and Gold tells her to step aside. He doesn't plan to make the young Pinocchio remember anything, it won't work. Torturing the elder August though, that is another story. With a wave of his dagger, August returns, and Gold prepares to begin.

Once Upon A Time S04E11 Recap: Heroes And Villains

The walls surrounding Storybrooke still stand, but Elsa is ready to take it all down. Using her ice magic, Elsa takes down the line. Anna is ready to go home. Emma warns Anna that the town line is on the other side, and they may not be able to cross the line. Elsa is okay with proceeding with caution, as Arendelle will still be there, and they wouldn't be able to get there by walking anyways. Anna and Kristoff forgot to tell her that Arendelle has been conquered by Hans and his brothers, so it may not be there when they return. Elsa hurries Emma to find them a way home. Hook meanwhile looks queasy.

Rumple is squeezing the hot pirate's heart, everything has been mucked up. If the Snow Queen had succeeded then things would have been easier. Hook tells him that the Arendelle trio are looking for a way home. Rumple wants Anna gone, she knows what he was doing, that he was trying to cleave himself from the dagger. Belle confessed to knowing Anna. Rumple doesn't like the position he's in. Rumple tells Hook to watch Anna, to make sure that she does not come near the shop. When the stars in the sky align with the stars on the hat, he will finally crush Hook's heart. Then Rumple will wake his beautiful wife and give her the life she's always wanted.

Past. Belle looks through items in the library, and Rumple scares her as she pulls a knife from the shelf. He warns her not to cut herself. Her curiosity got the best of her. While he was away, she wanted to look over his things. He's been all over the world, and yet he says nothing. He claims that she's just the help, but she's sure that she's more. She asks about his recent trip to Camelot. It was good for him, bad for them. He brings her a trinket from Camelot to clean, a gauntlet which points out someone's weakness.

Rumple wakes Belle to breakfast in bed, but he has more planned for her. He wants to give her a proper honeymoon. He asks if she would like to see New York. He tells her to pack a suitcase, its time to see the world. Poor naive Belle, she's going to be so heartbroken when she finally opens and realizes what Rumple has done.

The time has come to finally restore Marian, and Robin just doesn't look happy about it. Regina plops Marian's heart back in her unfrozen body and she awakens, throwing herself into Robin's arms. At the dinner, Regina just wants to be alone, but Marian has come to talk. She thanks Regina for saving her life, twice. Regina wants no thanks. Marian can't forget about it because Robin can't forget. For her its only been a short time but for him, its been a lifetime. She thinks that Robin loves Regina, and that she loves him. Regina tells her that Robin is an honorable man and that he'll stay with Marian. But Marian doesn't want him out of obligation, but choice. If his heart leads him to her, she will happily accept him, but it does not as she suspects it won't she'll step out of the way. Regina has a small hope.

The broom walks, and Hook admits that the crocodile may have gotten the best of him in this life, but he'll be waiting in the next. With Rumple's immortality, that may be a long while. Since Hook is resigned to his death, he asks who the house belongs to, and Rumple only admits that it is a powerful sorcerer's. He brought the Snow Queen from Arendelle. He's very powerful, now he only needs to find the portal he used. The portal shows itself in front of Rumple and Hook.

Henry finds Belle trying to stuff her suitcase for her honeymoon trip. He tells her that the spell is still in place, and any who leave will not be able to return. Belle hadn't heard that news, but she's sure that Rumple must have a way around it. Henry looks concerned, and Belle asks what's wrong. He shows her the storybook that has all their stories in it, and tells her that he's concerned about his mother, Regina. She's on a better path though, Belle believes, and there is nothing to worry about. Belle realizes that she needs another suitcase, and sends Henry to help her find one. He climbs on a ladder, telling her about the New York Public library. He finds the suitcase, and drops a pile of items, the gauntlet among them, and that concerns Belle.

Past. Belle realized why Rumple collected so many magical things, because he had a hole in his heart. He tells her what he's missing is clean clothes, and with a snap of his fingers he sends her outside to the laundry line. Belle mutters about being correct in her assumption, and knowing that he can hear her, voices her disdain. The sound of whimpering pulls her from her revelry, and she spots a dalmatian puppy. It runs off, and she chases off it, but it disappears into the trees. Someone grabs her from behind. My money is on Cruella de Vil.

Hook arrives at Granny's. He may not be the savior, but he's saved the day he tells Emma. He shares a drink with Emma, and claims that he's found the portal to Arendelle. Emma doesn't quite believe him, but he goes on that he went to Gold, and he showed him the portal in his mansion. Rumple has turned over a new leaf he says. Dozens of new leafs, but Emma is unsure they can trust him. Talking through Hook using his heart, Rumple has him tell her that he's sure that they can trust Rumple. The portal is the same one that brought the Snow Queen in the first place. They just need to get the Arendelle trio through it and home. Emma is fine with the plan, but when she moves into action Hook makes an excuse as to why he can't go, which raises all sorts of red flags. Emma sees that he's acting strange, and he claims to be fine, giving her a little kiss. He says he'll see her around, but he grabs her before leaving.

Past. Rumple goes looking for Belle, hoping that she hasn't done something so stupid as running away. A bird caws above, dropping a sand dollar down at him. He waves his hand over it, and an image of Belle appears. She's suppose to ask him for the Camelot gauntlet in exchange for her life. There is some wicked laughing as Belle begs for her life. Rumple threatens the bird and its master.

Regina sits on a bench with Robin watching Roland and Marian. Roland looks so happy, and Regina knows that their children come first. Robin tells her that he choses Regina, which Regina finds absurd. She asks what its going to look like to Roland. To Roland it will look messy and complicated, but if he were to go back to Marian he wouldn't be truthful to himself. The best thing he could do for his son is to live truthful. Robin shows her story book page he saved of him kissing Regina. Roland shouts, Marian has fallen. She's succumb to the ice again. There must be some remnant of ice magic on her. Marian's only chance is to leave the town. Robin is ready to take Marian to the world without magic, but Regina warns him that its a one way trip. She tells him that he cannot leave Marian to that world alone, that he and Roland need to go with her. Poor Regina, she's too good for her own well being. Regina sits in the car staring at the city line. Will is outside talking with Robin, Marian and Roland saying their goodbyes. Rumple gets into her car. He's come to say goodbye. He knows that once he leaves he cannot come back, and he's okay there. He wants her to tell Henry goodbye, and before he leaves he wants to know why Henry has been snooping around his shop. She admits that Henry was looking for something, a clue to who the author of his book was. They wanted to find him and make him give Regina a happy ending, since as it stands villains don't get them. In Regina's case that's true, but Rumple think he's different. Regina notices that he and Belle seem content, because he took his happy ending and he thinks that Regina should take hers too. Regina isn't the same person she was before, and she can't sacrifice people like she has. Rumple sounds like his old self, she thought he had changed. He's evolved. He thinks he's above fate, and story books. He tells her that he's about to get what he desires, and he wants the same for her. It's finally time for her to say goodbye to Robin. She's given him a map and money, everything he needs. He thanks her, but Marian is getting worse. She needs to cross and now. Robin pushes Marian towards the line, but he needs one more moment. She and Roland cross the line, and she's instantly restored. On the otherside Marian can no longer see Robin or anyone still in the town. Regina pushes Robin towards his waiting family. He kisses her one last time, and crosses the line, no longer able to see the love of his life. Robin walks with Marian and Roland away. All Regina has left is their storybook page, which she tears apart and leaves it behind.

The crow flies high, and Rumple has brought the gauntlet as he was asked. Belle is brought forward, and Maleficent is ready to trade. Rumple captures her in a spell. She thought that she could steal from the Dark One, but she has another thing coming. Maleficent isn't alone. Ursula wraps Belle up in her tentacles, threatening to crush Belle. Cruella taunts Rumple as well. They seem to have a sorted past. Cruella tells Ursula to crush Belle, and Rumple ponders for just a moment, before handing over the gauntlet. The villainesses have lived too long allowing the heroes to win, and now its time to turn the tides. They can finally find the heroes' weaknesses. Maleficent free, tells them to release the girl, and she makes them all disappear. Belle doesn't know why Rumple would turn over the powerful gauntlet, but he points out that they won't be able to harm her. She asks why he cares, and he claims not to. If anyone is going to crush her heart he claims.

When the stars in the hat align with those in the sky they will begin. Hook points out that he won't begin but end. Rumple is surprise that he's still so spunky in the face of death, he figured he would have crumpled, but Hook has no plans to crumple before a coward. Rumple opens the moon roof to begin.

Henry and the others marvel over the sorcerer's mansion, headed towards the portal. Anna is overjoyed to see the familiarity of the door. Emma offers to open the door, fearful that the magic could be harmful. Anna thanks Emma for taking such good care of her sister, when they return home she plans to knock Hans off the door. Kristoff hopes that he and Anna could be married soon after, which Anna agrees she would like very much. Elsa says her goodbye to Emma, and Emma opens the door of the portal. Elsa takes the lead and heads in, but Anna pauses for a moment, asking about Gold, having never met him. She wishes she had, thinking him to be some sort of fairy godfather. David tells her that Gold was/is Rumpelstiltskin, and Anna knew him well. Emma is shocked as Rumple told her that he knew nothing of Anna. They had many dealings, and Emma realizes that he was playing them the whole time, but not why.

Rumple unleashes the hat as the gears of the clock turn. The hat manifests itself, floating skywards. It disappears, becoming a grand nebula of stars. Rumple is captured in its light, but Snow and Emma stop him. He can't stop. He's too close, and he's waited too long. Emma tries to use her magic, but he freezes
her. Rumple finally has a chance to finish off Hook, but finds that he cannot crush his heart. Belle has his dagger, and she's commanded him not to. She orders him to drop the heart, which he does, and to release everyone. The nebula goes back into the hat, and the hat back into its box. Belle's next order is to the town line, so they can be alone for what comes next. Rumple has no choice but to do as she asks. She backs him towards the line. She's finally faced the truth. She asks him if he remembers the first time that he saved her life. He traded for her, and that was when she thought she saw something good in him, until today. She found the gauntlet, and realized that all the signs she'd been seeing were correct. Rumple never gave up power for her, and he never will. He told her that the gauntlet would lead to the thing that someone loved most. The gauntlet lead her to his real gauntlet. He tells her that he likes the power, and there's nothing wrong with that. They can have it all. All she wanted was him. She chose him. And she wanted him to chose her too. She did everything for him, and she lost her way trying to help him find himself, but no more. He begs her, he can change for her again. It's too late. Once she saw the man behind the beast, and now there is only the beast. She holds the dagger higher, and commands him to leave Storybrooke. Once he leaves he won't be able to come back, and he doesn't want to lose her. She tells him that he already has though as he crosses the line. Belle turns her back on him, shedding tears. He sheds his own, calling for the love he can no longer see.

Anna shows Elsa a painting of her mother, Ingrid and their other aunt that she found in the East Wing. Elsa turns around to see her sister dressed in her wedding dress. She looks picture perfect, except the bruises on her hands from dethroning Hans. Kristoff sounds like he's slightly worse for the wear. Elsa asks her sister why she postponed her wedding to find out the truth. Anna admits that she wanted her sister to be as happy as she was when she walked down the aisle. The sisters both gush about the amazing smell of chocolate, and then hand in hand they head down the aisle, thus ending our frozen chapter.

Emma holds Hook's heart in her hand, literally. He asks her to be gentle, but she shoves it back inside him as she explains she though it would be more like a bandage, and he pulls her in for a steamy kiss. Our sexy Hook is back.

Emma takes a seat next to Regina. She's not in the mood for a rah rah speech of hope, but Emma points out that she isn't her mother, and offers to be Regina's drinking buddy. Regina orders drinks and Emma tells her that she did the right thing today. Regina cuts short the speech, but its a compliment, not a speech. Regina knows she did the right thing since she's miserable, but Emma points out that Gold is miserable now too, which makes her feel a little better. Henry rushes in with something for his mothers to see.

He brings them to the sorcerer's house. After they left he stuck around and found a secret room. It's a library, but Henry points out that it isn't just any library. He pulls from the shelf a book that looks like his, but blank. All of the books are, they're all potential stories, which may mean that they're in the author's house. Regina is overjoyed, hugging her son. Regina fills Emma in on Operation Mongoose, admitting that she was hoping to find the author to have him write her a happier story. Emma jumps onboard as Operation Mongoose's newest member. She intends to help Regina find happiness.

Six Weeks Later. In the city a bus stops. Rumple gets off it, walking with a limp and his cane. In the past he believed that a time would come when the students surpassed the master, but today is not that day he tells Maleficent, Cruella, and Ursula. Maleficent points out that they made a deal, and he always keeps his deals. Its more a death wish that they're making. But Rumple leaves with the gauntlet in hand, and the trio with little more than a pout. Rumple limps into what looks like an aquarium. Past. Cruella points out that the villains never win, and asks him to join them. Rumple always wins, and they've seriously underestimated him if they think otherwise. Now, Rumple passes the jellyfish. Ursula is tending the fish, but not happily. She tells them that if they don't like what she has for them, they should eat each other. Rumple tsks her, telling her that that attitude is frowned on at the aquarium. Ursula is a little too joyful taking in Rumple's current fall from grace, but he has a story for her. He finally understands the heroes and villains roles, and how the villains always lose. But more so, he finally sees that the rules do apply to him. Now he plans to find the author, and change his mind. He's gonna need her help and that of her fellow villainesses.

And that my friends is the winter finale. Are you sad for Frozen to be done? For Robin and Rumple to be in the real world? I for one am glad to be done with Frozen, and if Rumple is working on getting back into Storybrooke it means Robin can sneak back in too. Once Upon A Time Returns March 1, 2015.
