CW's Arrow lands Katie Cassidy!

More news coming out of the CW's new crime drama series based on DC Comics' Green Arrow, Arrow has brought on former Supernatural demon actress Katie Cassidy to take the female lead. Now I'm definitely going to have to watch this it it makes the fall schedule. 

As reported earlier, Stephen Amell steps into the role of millionaire Oliver Queen, who secretly moonlights as Jason Bourne a bow and arrow welding vigilante, with a penchant for green, out to stop crime.

Katie Cassidy will play Laurel, a young legal clinic attorney with past romantic ties to Oliver. In the comic books, this character has her own alter ego known as The Black Canary. It is not clear if Canary will be making an appearance on the show just yet, but let's face it Katie would be the perfect Black Canary.

Susanna Thompson has been cast as Oliver's mother Moira Queen. The series is being prepped for a fall 2012 debut on The CW.
