Buffy Season 9 #2
Buffy can’t escape her troubles, hell, she can barely escape her student loans. The magic has gone out of the world with the destruction of the seed, Willow is angry and Buffy still hasn’t dealt with the fallout of her actions. Buffy has been so focused on herself she’s falling into self pity, and not even her slaying can bring comfort or levity.
The bodies that have been found can’t possibly be whom they seem to be. Persons missing for decades are turning up dead, but they haven’t aged a day since they disappeared, could they be something more than human?
When Buffy is detained for questioning in the mysterious body case, she quickly makes a break for it, and lands on Xander and Dawn’s doorstep, which turns out to be less than welcoming. Spike is sticking around to offer the slayer aid, and Buffy finds a new… slayer?
I adore the direction this is going. The old mythos don’t exactly apply anymore, and Buffy as well as the reader are trying to gain footing in this new world. The pace picks up a little with this second issue, and unlocks more questions, than it answers.
