It’s the holiday season once again, the time for caring and sharing, it’s also the time where people come together to help those that are less fortunate and bring them some happiness during this Thanksgiving.
This year more than any other year people and families are finding it difficult to make ends meet and put food on the table not only on Thanksgiving and Christmas but also all year long; food pantries and other organizations are struggling to keep up with the increasing demand to stay supplied.
This year Jason Dube artist and owner of Scattered Studios, Richard and Kristi Zerga comic book artists and owners of Legends Of Heroes And Villains Publishing, , and horror hostess Miss Misery, along with the folks at Empire Comics Vault are banning together for the “Food For Comics” Drive.
The Food For Comics Drive will be held at Sacramento’s Empire Comics Vault where the comic book store will be offering $2.00 off selected comics in the store when customers bring in two or more can goods or other non perishable food into the store.
Empire Comics Vault will also offer 20% off all horror comics and other horror related merchandise.
Attending the event will be Jason Dube artist and owner of Scattered Studios, known for his popular creations of “Panda Days”, Caffiened Poison”, “Scattered” and now for his newest popular comic “Shadow Hunters”, also his work on the Spina Bifida charity comic “Joey The Little Genius”. Jason will be on hand to talk about these popular titles and about his upcoming projects as well; Jason will be on hand to sign copies of “Shadow Hunters” #1 and “Caffiene Poisoned”..
Jason will have copies of “Shadow Hunters” #1, as well as “Cafiene Poisoned” #1-#4; and he will be taking $2.00 off of these titles when customers bring in non perishable goods
Also attending will be Richard Zerga and Kristi Zerga artists and owner of Legends Of Heroes And Villains; they will be on hand to talk to customers about their upcoming projects and current projects including “Kitty And Batz”, “Taffy Love Is Not A Laughing Matter”, “Hotaru In Kandyland”, and “SQUIRREL”
In addition they will have these titles “Kitty And Batz” #1, “Taffy: Love Is Not A Laughing Matter” #1 and #2, “Hotaru In Kandyland”, #1-#3, and also a “SQUIRREL” preview edition on hand for sell and to sign,  for those that bring in can goods they will also give $2.00 off these great comics.
Horror Hostess Miss Misery will be at the event as well; Miss Misery is the popular San Francisco horror hostess who can now be seen on her own television show called “Miss Misery’s Movie Massacre” ; she can also be seen on her other show “The Last Doorway Show” and she is a regular on the popular “Creepy Kofy Movie Time” show; also horror fans flock to her annual “A Nightmare To Remember” film festival.
Miss Misery stars in her own comics that include “Miss Misery’s A Haunting Desire” and her newest comic “Forgotten Tales: The Audition”
Miss Misery will be at the Comics For Food event; talking about all things “Miss Misery” and the projects she is working, she will also be on hand to sign copies of her comics “Miss Misery’s A Haunting Desire” and “Forgotten Tales: The Audition”.
She keeps with the theme of the event and will be participating by taking $2.00 off her comics; in addition she will be giving way Comic Book Divas T-Shirts to customers who purchase her comics.
Be sure to attend the Food For Comics event at Empire Comics Vault, November 19th from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, get some great comics, meet great artists and creators, meet the one and only Miss Misery; and most importantly help some people have a great Thanksgiving.
