Gotham, Queen Sugar, and More Quality Content to Headline Inaugural Tribeca TV Festiva

Expanding on the success of its film festival which is set to kick off it's seventeenth run in 2018, Tribeca is launching its inaugural TV festival that will feature a wide array of television programs that will be sending cast and crew to appear on promotional panels for upcoming seasons. Thus we've compiled a few of our picks of what the line-up has to offer for avid television-fans.

GOTHAM


Panel: September 23, 4:00 PM

Attending: Executive producer Danny Cannon, cast members including Ben McKenzie, Robin Lord Taylor, Camren Bicondova, David Mazouz, Sean Pertwee, Jessica Lucas & Erin Richards

What to expect: A screening of the upcoming The Fear Reaper episode as well as a panel in which the cast/crew will discuss what's to come in the latest chapter of this highly popular DC Comics adaptation. Season four is set to introduce even more iconic comic villains that Jim Gordon will lead the fight against in Gotham city.

Queen Sugar


Panel: September 24, 7:15 PM

Attending: Cast members Rutina Welsey, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, and Kofi Siriboe

What to expect: The critically acclaimed and highly popular, groundbreaking series on Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network has been co-executive-produced by Winfrey herself along with Ava Duvernay and Monica Macer. The series is not only revolutionary for part of an expanding social movement to push for greater diversity and quality representation in Hollywood media but for the fact that all of the episodes are directed by women. At this panel, the mid-season premiere will be screened and the show's talent in attendance will discuss their work on the show as well as offer hints on what's to come for the remaining portion of season two.

Will & Grace


Panel: September 23, 7:00 PM

Attending: Cast members Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes, Megan Mullally, and co-creators/executive producers Max Mutchnick and David Kohan

What to expect: The original run of the popular comedy series was eight seasons that aired a decade ago. In a bold move by the network, the series has been brought back for a whole new run to reunite these fan-favourite characters. The cast and show-runners in attendance will discuss the show's legacy and offer some insight on what viewers can expect with this new run.

Panel: September 22, 5:30 PM

Attending: Executive Producer Oprah Winfrey

What to expect: Oprah Winfrey will be joined by the series creators to discuss this gripping new series that is set to air on the OWN network, which will address the topic of mass incarceration in the States. The first 90 days after inmates are released from prison is said to be a crucial period during which they must quickly find a way to reintegrate themselves back into society to better their chances of not returning to prison.
