Leverage Season 5 Review

All good things must come to an end, and with the fifth season of Leverage hitting DVD, that end is upon us. Leverage revolved around a brilliant group of thieves, lead by former insurance investigator turned thief, Nate Ford (Timothy Hutton). The grifter Sophie Devereaux (Gina Bellman), the hitter Eliot Spencer (Christian Kane), the hacker Alec Hardison (Aldis Hodge), and the thief Parker (Beth Riesgraf) rounded out the talented team.

The final season, that took many fans by surprise with the series cancelation, things heated up between Parker and Hardison and Ford battled his demons. In between a string on jobs, they continue to face off against their most deadly nemesis, and my favorite guest star, Jim Sterling (Mark Sheppard). As in previous seasons, the group continues to get revenge against shady corporations and criminals (and even steal from them).

In fact, this final season featured some great guest stars, including a conniving shipping executive (Cary Elwes); a former hockey player now team owner (Treat Williams); and a corrupt businessman (Matthew Lillard).

The DVDs include commentary on all of the episodes. There's also deleted scenes for "The First Contact Job," "The French Connection Job," "The Low Low Price Job," and "The White Rabbit Job." Fans will enjoy these along with the gag reel. Strictly speaking for extras, there aren't that many, but fans of the show will love it, and be heartbroken hearing Timothy Hutton exclaim "Let's go steal a season 6!"
