FOR THE ‘PATRIOTS DAY’ CHARITY CHALLENGE

LOS ANGELES &amp; SANTA MONICA, CA, October 5, 2016 – CBS Films and Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF) today announced the Patriots Day Charity Challenge, a nonprofit initiative that will empower people across the country to honor select first responders, medical professionals and survivors of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.

Beginning today, charities throughout the greater Boston area are invited to visit the campaign’s CrowdRise page https://www.crowdrise.com/PatriotsDayApplication for the details and to sign up and potentially take part. The Patriots Day Charity Challenge will kick off later this year with a $100,000.00 main prize challenge as well as surprise bonus challenges and will run through the film’s opening weekend. The cast, filmmakers and studios behind the film PATRIOTS DAY will be supporting this effort with both financial contributions and special prizing.

CrowdRise Challenges are innovative fundraising competitions for charitable organizations 

designed to build capacity, create massive engagement and leverage, and use the power of the crowd to provide meaningful funding for organizations in every sector. Recent successful challenges include campaigns for Revlon, Allstate and Quicken Loans. “The courage and stories of the survivors, first responders and other organizations who stepped up that morning and every day since are the inspiration for this film,” said co-writer and director, Peter Berg, who continued. “We are proud to be part of an effort to help give back to these heroes and celebrate the spirit of community that defined Boston’s response to this tragic event.”

The Pixels are coming, and its every gamer's dream and nightmare!

In Pixels, when intergalactic aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them, they attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults. President Will Cooper (Kevin James) has to call on his childhood best friend, '80s video game champion Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), now a home theater installer, to lead a team of old-school arcaders (Peter Dinklage and Josh Gad) to defeat the aliens and save the planet. Joining them is Lt. Col. Violet Van Patten (Michelle Monaghan), a specialist supplying the arcaders with unique weapons to fight the aliens.

Peter Dinklage's mullet alone is a thing that needs to be seen. In the same vein as Knights of Badassdom, Dinklage is just as much perfection in a comedic movie as he is in a dramatic role. He could make anything believable, but Kevin James as president may be a stretch. How funny Adam Sandler will be, isn't really seen, but he's got a a good group around him to pick up his slack. And Josh Gad is back in a supporting role, where he really excels. If he can muster half of the enthusiasm he brought to Frozen's Olaf, he'll be comedic gold.

Pixels is set for release July 24, 2015
