TORONTO (July 22, 2014) – Space, Syfy, and Temple Street Productions announced today that British actor, Hannah John-Kamen, known for her starring role in West End musical Viva Forever, Canadian genre-favourite Aaron Ashmore(SMALLVILLE); and London, Ontario’s own Luke Macfarlane, best known for his role as Scotty Wandell on BROTHERS & SISTERS, have been cast as the leads in the upcoming original adventure drama series KILLJOYS. Commissioned by Space and produced by Temple Street Productions for Space and Syfy, the 10-episode, one-hour series begins production in Toronto on August 5.  Created and written by showrunner Michelle Lovretta (LOST GIRL), and directed by genre guru Chris Grismer(VAMPIRE DIARIES, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS), KILLJOYS follows a trio of interplanetary bounty hunters (John-Kamen, Ashmore, and Macfarlane) - or “Killjoys” - as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant planetary system on the brink of a bloody, class war. With additional casting still to be announced, KILLJOYS is set to premiere in 2015 on Space.

In KILLJOYS, Hannah John-Kamen stars as the gorgeous, complicated, and deadly Dutch. A top-level Killjoy, she’s a much loved and charming presence in her community, with a unique gift for earning people’s trust and respect regardless of their class. Under her banter and protective flirtations, there is pain, maturity, and a deep solemnity resulting from a dark secret past.

Aaron Ashmore takes on the role of John Jaqobis, a Level 3 Killjoy who, despite his profession, is a peacemaker who hates conflict. Cheerful and kind-hearted, John prefers not to fight, but his sarcastic wit has put him into the fray enough over the years to teach him how to do it well, and dirty. Give this man any machine or situation, and he can fix it, build it, and fly it.

Luke Macfarlane stars as D’avin, a handsome, rugged, sarcastic, and incredibly loyal former soldier. He dreamed of enlisting in the military since boyhood, and his hard-won expertise in tactics, manoeuvres, and hand-to-hand combat make him an instant asset to the Killjoy team.

Bo returns home to what she thinks is an empty house. She makes for the ice cream, but Kenzi springs out of her hiding spots with some sticks. The girls do a little stick fighting, and nearly skewer Nate. He finds them to be the strangest girls, but they don’t take offense at all.

Nigel goes to visit the Don, Marisol, when there’s a disturbance. He rushes along with her assistance to see what has happened hand finds her toasted.  The assistant tells Hale that Carmedy wasn’t a smoker for two centuries. He looks around the desk, and she stops him, not use to having a member of the Zamora clan under her roof. Oooh, Siren problems. Hale doesn’t take offense, he’s just doing his job. Dyson arrives, and it puts her at ease to find someone not affliated with the clans. Hale’s father, Sturgess, is giving him an out, and it doesn’t sit well with Hale.

Hale laments to Kenzi, and he tells her that he hates what Dyson has become. Their bromance has hit a bit of a rough patch. He tells her that he needs a girlfriend, and she pulls away. There is a mass noble fae family gathering, and he needs her to just pose as his girlfriend so that his family will back off. Kenzi tells him that she has a boyfriend, but he pulls out a laundry list of items that he’s assisted with, she capitulates on the conditions that there is no groping, smooching or magical impregnations. And best of all he’s brought her a present. He give her his Nona’s old gown and fascinator.

Lachlan goes over the Don’s explosion case. He tells Bo about the three clans of importance: The Zamora, the Bucara, and Finargrin, they’re like the mob with mermaids. Lachlan tells her that the time couldn’t be worst with the Invarel happening. With peace so tentative between the families, it’s the perfect opportunity for the Garuda to strike. Lachlan tells her to team with Dyson and apprise the families of the situation and rally them to the cause. He tells her to remember that they’re a pretentious bunch.

Hale and Kenzi prepare for battle. He warns her that his family is a little old school. He introduces Kenzi to his father, and its clear they do not approve, more so when the maid drops her tray at the sight of a human. His father doesn’t even see Kenzi as a person. Hale’s sister Val is less than pleasant to her as well, she’s a pombero, a fae that steals voices, and uses her brother to demonstrate her power when he doesn’t agree with her. They’re father stops the childish antics, and goes back to human bashing, before voicing his disgust with the fact that his only son is a Siren. Sirens are good enough to sleep with, but not for his son to be one. His father and Val tell him that there is a limit to charity, and cheap, ill bred mortals are it.

Bo and Dyson discuss the case. He wants to play bad cop, but Bo thinks that they should examine the evidence. A photo of the three clans is burned, suggesting that there is a vendetta against the clans.

Sturgess tries to get him to understand the importance of this meeting being in their home, they haven’t been there for 300 years. Kenzi and Bo are surprised to see each other. Dyson has arrived, and Val takes interest in Bo. Sturgess is interest as well. Dyson and Bo have come to question him, and he takes them to the wine cellar. Sturgess throws blame towards one of the other clans, saying that they’re as shifty as humans. With fast speed, he leads Kenzi away from the vintages, asking if she would prefer a wine cooler. Ouch, he couldn’t be any ruder. Kenzi saunters away, and Val gets frisky beneath the table as Bo watches on. Dyson moves her hand away, and Sturgess serves up dessert. Val remarks that the silverware the human used should be washed twice, or tossed out. That’s the last straw, Kenzi leaves. If she wanted to be insulted so, she would spend time with her own family. Val is pleased, and Hale runs off after her. Kenzi is upset over the way that Hale just used her. Sturgess mentions how easy going Bo has been, contrary to the reports, thinking that Dyson has been a good influence. It wasn’t Dyson’s influence she tells him but Kenzi’s. She tells him what she thinks of him, and Dyson stops her. Val makes a very open invitation. Bo and Dyson are off to charm the other two families since she failed here.

Nate surprises Kenzi with some flowers. His sweet gesture isn’t lost on him, even if she did stand him up for another date. She tells him it was the worst date of all time, and it doesn’t make him feel any better. He’s a little jealous of Hale, and she tells him that he’s just a friend. There are too many secrets between them, he wants to trust her, but she’s making it hard for him to do so. He’s right, and its killing her, but she can’t spill it all.

Bo and Dyson seek out Dabner, or rather they seek him out. Something entered his room, on fire, and he barely escaped. He refuses to be silence he says, and his hand begins to smolder. Trick asks if the creature touched him, as he goes up in a flash fire, and is reduced to ashes. Trick tells them that a charuough , a magma fae, sets off a chain reaction that can’t be stopped. They usually disguise themselves as rocks, and they have to figure out his motivations. With only one Don left, they have to head back to the Santiago estate.

Bo finds Kenzi devouring her ice cream. Kenzi lied her butt off to Nate, and Bo tells her that if Hale is ruining her relationship to tell him. She also doesn’t think that her issues with Nate are a fae thing. Lauren’s arrival interrupts, and the whole truth thing lacks punch. She has Nadia in tow, and she excuses herself to the restroom, as Lauren dives in with what she’s found about the charuough in the Ash’s library. They’re bad ass, and have a very famous history. They were responsible for Pompeii, which they refer to as the Rape of Scafati, which Bo recognizes. On Marisol’s desk was the word Scafati. Lauren questions why Marisol would have it, and Bo wonders what the Dons are keeping from them.

Nadia searches Bo’s room, checking out her sword, and looking at herself in the mirror. She came out of her coma, but something isn’t right with her. Bo catches her looking through a trunk of hers, and surprises Nadia. Nadia comments on Bo’s weapons collection. Bo shrugs it off as a hobby, and Nadia admits that she was checking out the competition. Bo tells her that she’s not her competition, and reassures her that it’ll stay between them, Bo remains suspicious though.

Hale is happy to see Kenzi arrive at the Dal. She wonders if he was there with her yesterday. Hale tells her that it was yesterday, and the estate is always crazy. She tells him that Nate doesn’t understand, and Hale offers to talk to him about it. He also tells her that if she doesn’t come, it’ll be another thing that his father will think he failed at. Kenzi still doesn’t understand why he chose to bring her to impress his family, and not Bo. Hale tells her that as the Santiago heir, one day he may be the head of the Zamora clan, and she asks if he needs a tiny human Queen to claim his throne. If so, she’d be perfect. But no, he wishes to set an example, that the fae need to modernize, and co-exist with the humans to refrain from irrelevancy. Hale delivers his Mighty Ducks speech, and Kenzi is in agreement for one more night.

Bo returns to the Santiago house hold, and stalks back to the bottles that Kenzi was looking at. Sturgess comes after her, surprised that she made it past security. She pulls the bottle lacking dust, revealing a hidden door. He has some explaining to do. Inside, she grabs a scroll, and he unrolls it for her, admitting that the Scafati isn’t a thing, but a clan, and Bo remembers his little cake slicing ceremony, and the four parts, four clans. The Scafati clan was the most powerful of all, and they used the charuough under mount Vesuvius to get rid of them with the condition that they would deliver the first daughter born every 100 years, but of course they welched on their deliveries. They tricked the creature, or so they thought. He doesn’t understand this sudden need for revenge, but Bo tells him of the Garuda, and asks him to stop the Invarel. But he cannot show fear in front of the other clans, even if it means death. He traps Bo in the secret room, and prepares to party.

The Invarel looks to be a hoity toity affair. The guests are announced one by one, and Hale worries over Kenzi’s late arrival. Kenzi makes a well, Kenzi entrance, looking gorgeous as always. Hale is delighted by her entrance, his father and sister look than less pleased. Kenzi is worried over her look, but Hale tells her its perfect. Dyson keeps watch, and Val gives chase. The clans posturing about is distasteful. Val continues to try to seduce Dyson, but he points out that she’s his best friend’s baby sister. She’s no baby anymore, and she sees a change in him. She mentions overhearing Sturgess and Bo in the wine cellar earlier, and her illusions of her perfect father was shattered. She breaks down a little, but she isn’t looking for a white knight, but a bad wolf. She offers to let him “feel something” for a change, and leaves him with an open invitation.

Bo crawls her way through a cupboard, and finds Nate lurking around. He snuck in with the caterers, thinking he would win over Kenzi.

Hale and Kenzi laugh over the reactions of the other clan members. He is having way too much fun with it all, and overly glad that she chose to come. Her by his side is almost better than an actual girlfriend. Kenzi laughs over his slightly changed stance of saving the fae from their prejudices. Bo arrives, completely underdressed for the party, and warns Kenzi of the other uninvited underdressed person there. Kenzi takes off with Bo, as Nate waits. A string of “Dudes,” and Bo runs off. Nate wants to talk it out, but without the Batman proclamations. Nate tells her she’s a great catch, and because he’s so head over heels for her he would almost be okay if she was dating a cop behind his back. She confesses that she’s playing girlfriend to get Hale’s family off his back, and Nate understands. Things are good between then, she still can’t confess everything, and Nate accepts that too, but Kenzi has to go. She admits that she loves him, and they’re both a little surprised by her confession. Unfortuantely, Val spies the whole her proclamations, and kisses. As Val passes Kenzi, she steals away her voice.  Val signals Dyson, and he follows. She struggles to speak, and Hale notices. Bo tells Hale that the charuough is there, and she’s off to find Dyson. Sturgess intercepts Bo, hoping that she isn’t plotting anything stupid, but she is. She’s gonna save him.

Kenzi is back in the kitchen getting a drink, when she spies a pile of people ash. With her voice gone all she can do is offer up a silent prayer. She hides out, and tries to slink away to safety, and the scene is eerily similar to the Raptor Kitchen attack. Lucky for Kenzi, Bo is there to knock the charuough away, she heads off after the beast.

Dyson is busy doing bad things with Val, who refuses to take no for an answer.

Bo searches the kitchen, while Dyson gets busy against the wine barrels. Hale catches Dyson and Val, and he’s less than happy. Dyson just broke the bro code in a big way. Bo tries to use a fire extinguisher against the charuough but, its out. Dyson taunts Hale to hit him, but Hale is too disappointed. He takes Val away. Kenzi come with the assist, and her sneak attacks pay off when she leads her to a nitrogen container, which she uses to take out the charuough.

Bo and Kenzi make a big announcement during the Invarel. She shows them the charuough skull, and warns that the Garuda is feeding off their rage, and only getting stronger. Hale sees this as an opportunity to reunite the clans, even if they refuse. Hale punches Dyson, and forces his sister to give Kenzi back his voice. They leave, but Sturgess comes after Hale. He tells him he only used the charuough to keep the family safe, but Hale knows it was about needing to be in control. Sturgess wants Hale to stay close to his family when the Garuda comes. Hale will protect his sister like he always does, he did feel it coming. Bo vows to fight the Garuda, but Sturgess isn’t sure it’s a battle she can win, but he offers his assistance. He’s trying, and he even says goodbye to Kenzi. As they leave, Hale notices his Nona’s fascinator on Kenzi’s wrist. Dyson watches the rest leave.

Bo, Hale and Kenzi celebrate with a bottle of Sturgess’s wine. Bo doesn’t think that there is anything to celebrate, she had an entire room of nobles, and none of them rallied behind her, even with her amazing prop. Hale tells her that he’s willing to throw it all away to fight behind her. Kenzi points out that there are many that will fight, but Hale tells them to not count on Dyson. Nate comes, and Bo and Hale make scarce. Hale tells him he’s a lucky man, and Kenzi tries to give back what’s left of the fascinator. Hale isn’t taking it back, and Kenzi enjoys the gift.

Nadia is still acting all weird. She purposely slices her palms with a knife, tasting her blood. Lauren sees the cut, and rushes to her side. Nadia doesn’t even remember having the knife in her hand, she confesses that she’s scared. As Lauren embraces her, she smiles behind her back.

Kenzi returns home from being roadie to Nate, and Bobo has some loud company. It’s Loki! After some introductions, Kenzi runs for pastries. Ryan asks if he should have asked them to join, oh he is such a bad boy. Bo reigns him in for round two.

Street guy Tony rolls a joint, when an old guy asks him for help. He knows Tony, but Cole has aged a whole lot. Tony freaks out as Cole dies.

Kenzi returns again, and Bo has finished with her houseguest. Kenz asks about the voicemail Bo left her. Bo explains that she and Lachlan may be on the same side. Gosh, times have changed. Kenzi is still head over heels over Nate, and Ryan makes Bo blush. It’s double date time!

Ryan works on some sensitive project, when Bo comes to proposition a double date. Ryan seems less than thrilled, but he’s willing to play. Ryan has to be the sexiest on this show.

Dyson shows takes Jack into custody, and his alpha wolf is just as sexy. He manhandles Jack’s father after the man puts his hands on him, and Hale has to step in. There’s something eating at Dyson, he’s extra touchy. Hale brings up Cole’s mysterious circumstances, but the case doesn’t interest him. And it looks like the wolf may be in a little hot water.

Bo chats with Trick, when Hale comes to get Trick’s help. The 22 year old backpacker definitely did not look his age. Trick asks Bo for her help since the Circet looks like the culprit based on some wounds, and killing is against their nature. Hale bristles a bit, but submits to the Blood King’s suggestion.

Kenzi likes Ryan’s choice of eatery, even though its crazy expensive. Ryan is paying, and Kenzi is on board. They head to question Tony, in a den of backpackers. He’s completely out of it. They ran into each other a lot, and the last time was with a girl who was into partying. He shows them a picture of the girl, but he has no contact info for her. He tells Bo about some others that have disappeared lately, but didn’t have the means to do so. Bo phones in to Hale, about the much larger case than they expected. The girl in the picture, delphine, boarded a bus to San Francisco, so she’s long gone.

Dyson is in trouble with the Captain. The man grabbed him first, but because he has friends in high places, the kid got off scott free, and the case is back to square one.

Kenzi has problems getting their table at the super exclusive eatery. The Hostess is less than accommodating. Her attitude changes when Ryan arrives. It’s all hugs and kisses on the cheek, not that I blame her. Ryan is charming. She takes them to their usual table. Kenzi gushes over the menu, wanting to order everything lobster, but Ryan has taken the liberty to order for them. His wine order raises a few eyebrows when he mentions that he was there when the 49 was bottled. Poor Nate still doesn’t know about the fae, and just how old is Ryan? Nate proposes a cheesy toast, and Ryan gets catty.

Another backpacker is at a clinic where they’re sucking out her youth. That hundred they offered her doesn’t look so appealing as she rapidly ages.

Nate tells a story from the road. And while Bo laughs and is enjoying it, Ryan doesn’t see the point of working so hard for so little. Ryan realizes that he’s being a jerk, and apologizes. The first course comes out, and Kenzi doesn’t love it. None of them do. Bo gets a call that takes her away from the table. Kenzi wants to make a break for it, but Bo begs her to stay. Ryan apologizes for being a buzz kill, and taking them somewhere that they’re obviously uncomfortable. He tells he was trying to impress them and to make Bo happy so they should order some drinks, and food and enjoy themselves on him. He has one more surprise, he’s asked a talent agent to come by and help Nate out. Oh nos, that is surely the Morrigan.

Ryan tags along with Bo to the hostile to speak with Tony. Delphine is back, and when Bo goes to talk to her, she makes a run for it. Bo and Ryan give chase, and Delphine is panicked until Bo uses a little bit of her mojo on her, which impresses Ryan. Delphine tells them that she wanted to leave the country to see a show, and she planned on raising the money in this medical testing clinic. Cole didn’t think it was safe, but she kept pushing, she had no clue he was in danger. And she came back to warn everyone.

It looks like Kenzi and Nate ordered everything on the menu, with full bellies they’re feeling much more warm and cozy feelings about Ryan, though Kenzi is still holding a little grudge about the tripe. In strides the Morrigan, and Kenzi has all new reasons to hold a grudge.

The clinic is far more posh than Ryan and Bo expected. Ryan talks fast to get the clinic worker, Tessa, to open up, posing as a rich new in town couple. She tells them about their most popular treatment, a rejuvenation treatment. Bo’s questioning rubs the girl the wrong way, and she shuts down, telling her that they’re booked for weeks. Ryan and Bo were both recognized. She blames the girl sucking out youth that she needs to be ready for when they return.

The Morrigan has a plan for Nate, she wants to thrust him into the limelight. He sounds completely on board, but when she mentions going to the office to sign paperwork. Kenzi puts more emphasis on his talent than looks. The Morrigan finally concedes to hear him play. She sends Nate off to grab his guitar, but tells Kenzi to stay and have a drink with her. The claws come out when Nate leaves, Kenzi goes into Momma Bear mode, but the Morrigan is ready to play hard ball. Nate’s dream will trump Kenzi’s desires, everyone wins in the deal except Kenzi.

Ryan takes the clinic’s shutdown attitude as a sign they should run off and enjoy Napa, but Bo know’s Tessa is hiding something. Bo heads in for a second look, while Ryan takes a phone call.

Hale goes to talk to the captain on Dyson’s behalf.  He asks for a little slack since they’re a fantastic tag team. Hale puts his badge on the line, and the Captain will get Dyson reinstated.

Bo sneaks into the clinic, and finds the latest victim being tended to. She holds the girl at knife point asking for answers, but never sees Tessa coming. Tessa knocks her out. Rule number one, make sure the area is safe. Poor Bobo, she’s  the newest donor. Bo awakens, shackled to the table. They are indeed Circlets. They have quite the business, and Lena isn’t quite on board. Tessa tells her to take care of her, and Lena listens to her sister.

Kenzi tries to bargain with the Morrigan for Nate. She sees something great in Nate, if Kenzi were not involved, but the Morrigan is toying with her. Kenzi offers anything short of her first born, and the Morrigan has something better in mind. Kenzi will owe her, or the Morrigan will take full advantage of the client agency relationship. Kenzi squirms at the idea of either, but agrees. The Morrigan leaves it to Kenzi to break the news to Nate.

Lena continues to drain everything out of Bo as Tessa watches, but looks like the girl didn’t secure the building either, because Ryan strolls in and holds her hostage with some brain frying gadget. He tells Lena to let Bo go, and to give back her youth. Bo wants them to give the humans back their years first, but Tessa balks and refuses. Tessa knows that Ryan won’t kill her over humans, being they’re all dark fae and all. Ryan and Bo have a very different matter of opinion. Tessa destroys the years held in the jar so there’s no further debate. Tessa’s bossiness gets to Lena at Bo’s poking. And finally Lena snaps, she takes Tessa’s essence. She used Lena for too many years, exploiting her gifts instead of protecting her. Lena drains Tessa, leaving her dead, and goes to save the humans. Ryan is happy over the good turn out, but Bo isn’t going to forget this anytime soon.

Nate doesn’t take the Morrigan’s cold reception well. She refused to see him at her offices. He thinks that his music is the problem, but Kenzi remains the cheerleader in his corner. She tells him that she was going to make him someone who he isn’t so he should be happy he dodged the bullet. Kenzi tells Bo that Ryan sent the Morrigan for Nate. She apologizes for his actions, and reveals to her that Ryan is dark fae. Bo plans to have a few words for Ryan, but she’s not sure she can cut the ties. Don’t cut the ties.

Hale finds Dyson in a bar. Jack turned himself in, terrified. Hale asked if Dyson used his wolf to scare the kid, but Dyson tells him that he didn’t. Dyson’s downward spiral continues, he’s done explaining himself to everyone.

Bo comes to visit Ryan, but she’s not in the mood for any gifts. He doesn’t see why sending the Morrigan to Nate was such a bad idea. He was giving Nate an opportunity of a lifetime. She tells him that its not his place, that she would kill him in the end. But there’s a price for everything, and Ryan understands that. Another touchy subject is his clan alliance. He chose dark fae long ago, and he stands by it. He points out that although Bo claims to be unaligned she’s been pretty firmly team Light. He tells her that Light isn’t good, and Dark isn’t bad. There’s a lot of grey, and even Light has a bad side. All fae tend to think less of humans, and points out her little display with Delphine earlier was like playing with her food. Ryan is right on all points, and Bo melts a little. He wants to see Bo unleashed, which who doesn’t. Bo’s anger slips away, and he tells her to leave the alliances behind. He shows her the present, it’s the hostess from earlier. There’s no rules at Casa Ryan, and its about to be a very hot time.

Lauren continues taking from Bo, this time, her car. Lauren is planning a little road trip with Nadia, and while Bo tries to be a good friend, Lauren plans to put some space between them. And ever clueless, drops the bomb that she’s recommitted herself to the Ash, whom she owes for Nadia’s recovery.

Mr. You know Who vents about his to be, but his day wont come when he complains about the eggs that were cooked for him. A knock on the head with a frying pan finally quiets him, and his wife turns into him.

Kenzi gets some cutesy messages from Nate likely by the smile on her face, but Bo is planning on breaking into the Ash’s compound and do more than a little panty raid. She wants revenge for his underhanded scheme, but she can’t really spill the full beans, and bottom line is he broke her trust, and she’s gonna kick him in the pants for it. For once Kenzi is understanding and sentimental, love has made her optimistic. Bo leaves the softer Kenzi at home to enjoy her day.

Ciara helps Dyson pack up his house, poking fun at his favorite t-shirt. Everyone is just a little too mushy happy. She jokes that the ridiculous shirt with Hale’s face has to go, and tosses it in the trash. Dyson leaps to make her pay, in a likely sweaty naked way.

Bo asks what happens if she kills the Ash. Although complicated, Trick cannot help. Tonight happens to be the blood moon, where Trick can see the future. He tells Bo to forget about Lachlan and get him the Kingmore ring, a handy piece of swag that can stop him from bleeding out once the ritual starts. Trick gives her a hefty payment for the ring,

Bo heads to the motel meet-up place, and the shifter wears her face for the negotiation. The shifter holds her at gun point, crazy about getting a better cut. She’s a little upset about all the risks that she’s been, and lost of identity. Wiggling a boot off, Bo renders the shifter incapacitated with the touch of her bare foot. Bo doesn’t shortchange the shifter, and for once he’s himself, but she does get her ring.

Dyson and Hale take Trick to see Wai Lin, a former lover, to get the hallucinogen inducing Barometz. She cuts through Hale’s bullshit, and Trick tells the boys that she’ll pull the truth out of them. Both parties lay their cards on the table, and the price is four questions.

Nate comes to visit Kenzi, and he’s got a surprise for her, the song she wrote for her when she was sick. And it has to be the cutest thing ever. This softer side of Kenzi is overly sweet, and Kenzi pulls away, worried over Bo, but Nate isn’t giving up.

Wai Lin asks about a box Trick was carrying in the past, one he wouldn’t tell her about then. Trick refuses to say now as well, but when she taunts that he’s the blood king, a fact that surprises Hale, but not Dyson. Trick finally tells her. In the box was skull of a bad man. Next she asks about his wife’s death. His wife was killed in the great fae war, in battle. Trick is demands the baromitz, but Lin wants one more questions since she had to force one of his answers. She asks if it was his fault that his wife died. Perhaps. Lin offers Dyson a good time, and he tells her that he’s spoken for. She asks if he loves her, and he doesn’t answer, so she clacks her nails and forces the answer. He can’t love Ciara.

Bo delivers the ring to Trick, worried for his safety. Hale picks up on the fact that he’s the only one that didn’t know Trick was the Blood King. Dyson is a little shaken, and Trick tells her to leave Lachlan be. He’s currently their most powerful ally. He tells her to stand down, and she asks for a book for a quiet night in, Dyson gives her a scroll to help her.

Kenzi plays some drums, and Nate finds reasons for Kenzi to get close before he shatters her world and tells her that he’s leaving. She’s hurt, but he wants her to come with him. She answers him with a kiss, Kenzi is in.

Trick gives Dyson and Hale instructions for his trance mode. They tie him down, and hook him up to the juice, and off he goes to a drive in movie, where he’s the star. Everything that is happening shows on the screen. His wife is there, and it is a happy reunion.

Bo sneaks into the Ash’s compound using the scroll Dyson handed her. She evades the guards and rifles through his papers, nothing good. She finds his super secret  chess, out in the open, and busts open the locks. Come on find the head, and yes she finds his head. Lifting out the top tray, she finds several of his heads! And he finds her, and gives chase, crazy teeth bared.

Trick’s wife has been waiting since she died waiting for him, she says. She’s seen the future and he should fear it. Some ancient fae fed off the aggression during the war, and when he ended the war, it starved, and now that fae is pissed. She tells him that he created a false peace, that a true peace was coming. Trick thought he had no choice. She tells him he can unwrite the wrongs, that if he does what this thing asks he can have his wife back. Don’t do it Trick, it’s a trap! Some creepy guy watches the movie unfold.

Bo headbutts Lachlan, and he turns back, telling her he wishes she wasn’t the one that came to take his head. He taunts her into a sword fight with the mentioning of her mother, Aoife. Trick’s wife urges him on. Bo and Lachlan dance, trading insults. Lachlan is a little too calm, he’s clearly testing her. But Bo is holding her own. Trick tries to use his blood, but the ring prevents him. Finally Trick sees through charade. When he calls her on it, the creepy guy emerges from his car with a shriek. Lachlan wants to see Bo’s true face, still thinking that Bo was sent by someone. Bo didn’t come for an assassination attempt, but for the truth. Lachlan lowers his weapon at the mention of the Nain Rouge. He throws down his weapon and falls to his knee, but unarmed Bo can’t strike him down, though she’s not above kicking him one good.

Trick calls out the Garuda, a being that isn’t as extinct as they’re suppose to, and he is pissed. Trick killed off their food supply, and they’ve been lying in wait ever since, waiting to smell Trick’s blood again. They scented him when he subdued Aoife. The Garuda announces Trick’s location to his brethren.

Lachlan is ready for a confessional. He was using Lauren to test Bo, he needed to make sure she was one of the good guys. Lachlan is the last of the Naga, and the heads are those of his brothers, clefted from his shoulders over the years for his venom. The only way to kill the Garuda, the thing coming, is Lachlan’s venom. He’s been tracking them forever, and he needed to be sure Bo could control her anger, unlike her mother. Bo’s powers come from lust and passion, not aggression, like the Garuda thrives on. Lachlan asks Bo to lead the fae into battle against the Garuda.

Time’s up for Trick, and Hale and Dyson struggle to free in from his contraption. Dyson finally pulls free a tube, knocking them all out.

Ciara looks at the discarded shirt, and tosses it in a moving box.

Hale, Dyson, and Trick all remain unconscious.

Bo returns home, still stunned, and Kenzi is bursting at the scenes with good news. Nate is a sex god, and she asks Bo if she should go away on tour. Bo tells her to go, plots to save the world.

For once Kenzi is up before noon, in preparation for her family gathering, and Bo is off for a little workout. Kenzi has something planned up her sleeve though, something Bo knows nothing about.

Lauren is brought before Lachlan, her normal chipper self. He wants her back to work, but Lauren still isn’t ready to play. She threatens to take Nadia to the Morrigan, but Lachlan isn’t playing into her hand. Lachlan knows who cursed Nadia, the former Ash. He needed a cure for what was plaguing the fae, and Lauren was that doctor. Lachlan has also discovered the shaman who made the curse, and he’s willing to continue to work to awaken Nadia, but Laure going back to work is nonnegotiable. She’s not happy, but she goes.

Kenzi hits Hale and Rrick for Bo’s shindig, which sounds like it is going to be one heck of a party. Bo asks Hale and Trick about their weekend plans, and the two play coy. Bo is hoping Lauren can score a weekend pass. She gets a call hoping its Lauren, but instead its her favorite person, Lachlan, who wishes for an audience.

Lachlan hosts a little tea party, but Bo isn’t wanting to listen to his fortune cookie philosophy, so he cuts to the point. He wants Bo to sweet talk the shaman and save Nadia, but there’s a catch. The nail can only be removed by someone requesting it out of pure selfless love, who gets nothing out of it, which is Bo to a T. Lachlan has made all the travel arrangements, Bo just has to go.

Kenzi’s party planning continues, as Bo prepares to go to Africa, sword in hand, which may just put a damper on Kenzi’s plans. Bo heads into the fae traveling office, where Peggy explains the crazy fae way to travel. Once some waivers are signed, Peggy bends the earth and send Bo to Africa, right to the Shamman’s door. The Shamman shows her all of his curses, for which there are many. He’s not doing so well, but still remembers which one is her nail, one he paid handsomely to have placed. The light is not all good, they’re willing to play dirty. Bo asks for the price to remove the nail, he sends her on a quest to retrieve a stolen artifact.

 Kenzi tries out bands for the night, and strikes out hard when when there’s a knock on her door. It’s a familiar face, her former neighbor Nate, who she had quite the crush on as a kid. Without even hearing him play anything, she hires him on the spot.

Dyson is having a rough day, Ciara is house shopping, and Dyson is drowning his sorrows. Trick knows Dyson has been struggling since he visited the Norn. Bo serves as the perfect distraction when she comes in about her Pretta hunt. Pretta’s lust after things they can’t have, and Trick knows of one that may be her culprit. Trick tells her that she has to make a trade to the Pretta, and he gives her his dead wife’s bracelet.

Kenzi’s party favors turn out to be a disaster, and it’s not the only thing going wrong. Kenzi steals a bit of icing from Hale’s cake, and finds a worm. Hale wonders what else is in the organic fae cake.

Bo and Dyson pay Peggy a little visit for their traveling plans. She’s a little hung up on calling numbers, but Dyson plays along. Peggy sends the duo to Madagascar to hunt down their Pretta, who finds them before they can locate him. He takes them to his little vault of treasures, which brings him no pleasure. He can’t touch his pilfered goods after he brings to home, they turn to sand. What a sucky power. Bo shows him what she brought for trade, warning her  that even the sand is just as dangerous as his touch. Cautiously Bo lays down the bracelet and asks for the healing mask.

Lauren has a little chat with Nadia, and tells her of her awful treatment by the Ash.  She tells her of her hopes for the future. And even as she’s on the brink of crying I feel no sympathy for her. “Introducing” Nadia to drum up some Lauren sympathy is completely not working for me.

The Pretta shows Bo and Dyson where the Mask is, and there are plenty of piles of sand between them and the Mask. The Pretta refuses to help them with the actual retrieval, leaving Bo to navigate though the sand, many of which are people who came to trade the Pretta before. Dyson finds that the Pretta’s robe is unaffected by the sand, and gives Bo a piece of the robe material, but the Pretta isn’t playing fair. He lets in a draft, and makes Bo’s quest impossible as the sand starts swirling. Dyson uses the Pretta’s powers against him, and throws his treasures at him, causing many around him, including Trick’s bracelet to disappear.. The distraction works, and Dyson gets the door shut so Bo can retrieve the mask. She takes some of the sand with her, to replace Trick’s bracelet.

Kenzi sits in rapture listening to Nate play the guitar and sing, her crush still firmly intact. She may not be the only one crushing, but Nate is a little more tactful. Relationship statuses out of the way, and something may be brewing.

Trip #3 for Bo, and she far more touchy this time, knowing that her time is limited. She uses the mask on the shaman just in time, and asks him to remove the nail. He gives Bo the power to remove Nadia’s nail. As she starts to remove the nail, Nadia’s vitals go crazy. Bo pulls the nail free, and Nadia awakens, as if nothing happened. Bo begins to remove the other nails, though she shouldn’t have the power to do so. The shaman tells her that not all of the cursed are like Nadia, many are bad people. But Bo doesn’t believe that he has the right to be judge and jury, so she pours sand over his remaining nails, leaving him unable to curse anyone else.

Ciara bought a house, which she is very much in love with. Bo delivers a recap to Lachlan, but wants to know if she was successful. Lachlan tells her to look for herself, without resorting to a bodybag entrance. She thanks him again, and he tells her to remember that in the days to come. Bo goes to find Nadia, and finds her and Lauren making out, not exactly what Bo was expecting, but Lachlan did kind of warn her.

At home, she walks into Kenzi’s surprise party, which turns out to be a very happy surprise. Kenzi introduces Bo to Nate, before chasing after him. Dyson bares gifts, in the form of a replacement knife for the one she lost to the Pretta. Lauren shows up with Nadia in tow, which makes the party drift into awkwardness. Lauren gives Bo her gift, another weapon, death stars. And Trick comes with a gift too, a walking stick that happens to be a weapon too. It was his wife’s. A handsome stranger comes to deliver a gift as well from an admirer. It’s a beautiful bangle, which Bo is happy that it’s not a weapon. Mr. Hottie cautions her to read to inscription before making any judgments. When she goes to read the inside he disappears, and she’s left alone at her party.

Kenzi delivers some coffee the morning after, and the two go over all the big bombshells from the previous night, landing on the mystery man, who neither knows or invited. Strange. Kenzi gives Bo her gift, something far more personal than a weapon, she gives her a sketchbook of her party, hand drawn by the talented Nate. Bo’s happy for Kenzi, Kenzi just wishes she could be happy for Bo too. Hooking up with Mr. Hottie could be a start.

Lauren delivers Nadia’s progress to Lachlan, and in her gratitude, she pledges herself to the Ash. With her recommitment, he places her necklace back on her neck, forever.
