Kikki Danielsson made her return to Melodifestivalen with "Osby Tennessee", a song that she describes as her autobiography in three minutes. With a simple performance backed by a band displayed on a platform, Kikki kept the focus of the entry on her message.

"I want to say to the audience, because I was an adopted kid and I grew up... my start in my life wasn't very good. There are so many other people that have a bad start but you have to believe there are possibilities. You can come to Nashville, or go... Nashville is just a symbol. That's very important to me."

Watch our interview with Kikki Danielsson here:

Kikki has competed many times in Melodifestivalen, with the first time being all the way back in 1978, and has even won the opportunity to represent Sweden in Eurovision as both a solo artist and as part of a duo. She notes how much the contest has evolved, with an increasing focus on the flashiness of an entry's staging, as opposed to just the music.

"I grew up with schlager. I followed it on the TV, and wrote down every song and artist. It was the biggest day of the year and the biggest show. It has changed a lot. It's not live anymore." When Kikki performed at Eurovision 1985 with "Bra vibrationer" there were live musicians led by a conductor to accompany her performance.

Though Kikki's simple performance may not have been the most competitive entry, her message is one that many can benefit from and it's always nice to have a legend of the contest like her in the line-up.
