The Big Bang Theory S7E22 - "The Proton Transmogrification" Recap

The men are preparing for Star Wars Day (May 4th) on which they will watch all six movies but Leonard learns that Arthur Jeffries (Professor Proton) is dead and delivers the bad news to Sheldon. The funeral is to take place on Star Wars Day, much to the upset of Sheldon. He tells Amy he won't be going to the funeral where he would be around so many people blowing their noses.

Bernadette and Amy prepare a Death Star cake for Sheldon, but have to start all over again when it rolls off the table. Leonard and Penny go to the funeral, where Penny admits that she has never attended one before since she has never known someone who has died. Raj, Howard, and Sheldon argue over which films to watch/start with for May the 4th, leading Sheldon to storm out. He falls asleep in his room and dreams that Arthur Jeffries visits him. Arthur says he doesn't know why he is there and Sheldon says it must be because he is his Obiwan. Arthur's appearance then changes to that of a dead Jedi Master visiting from after death. Arthur gets momentarily distracted by playing with his lightsaber.

Leonard begins expressing some of his regrets and admits to Penny that he regrets not saying yes to her proposal. Meanwhile, Bernadette and Amy are still working on the Death Star cake and discussing what led them to become scientists. Arthur and Sheldon are in Dagobah and Sheldon wants Arthur to give him advice but Arthur initially doesn't know what to say. Eventually, he advises him to cherish the people in his life before they die. Sheldon is woken by Leonard who is home from the funeral. Sheldon hugs Leonard, taking Arthur's advise.

Sheldon insists on everyone starting watching the films over and Bernadette and Amy arrive with the Death Star cake. Sheldon has another dream in which Arthur asks him if if watching Star Wars is a wise way to spend his life and Sheldon rightfully says he sees nothing wrong with it.

The Big Bang Theory airs on Thursdays on CBS at 8PM.
