Josh Hutcherson's Celebrity Basketball Game Benefiting STRAIGHT BUT NOT NARROW

On August 9, 2013, Josh Hutcherson held the second annual Celebrity Basketball Game at L.A. Live. Yes, it was a star-studded event filled with fun, excitement and laughs...all to benefit a non-profit organization that Josh holds dear to his heart, Straight But Not Narrow.

It was definitely an evening that fans could enjoy! This is the second year that my daughter and I attended this fun event...watching and cheering on our favorite celebrities on the basketball court.  We even had celebrities that played last year return this year to support this incredible cause for today's youth! Celebrities such as: Aldis Hodge, Edwin Hodge and Jay Harrington, to name a few, returned to join the fun in promoting and raising funds for SBNN!

Here's the event overview:
In 2012, the first annual Josh Hutcherson Celebrity Basketball Game benefiting Straight But Not Narrow kicked off the weekend's festivities for the Nike Basketball 3ON3 Tournament. The Hunger Games star, Josh Hutcherson, and his celebrity friends hit the court for a competitive and highly entertaining basketball game. All net proceeds from the game went to raise funds and increase awareness for Josh's charity, Straight But Not Narrow. Check out the photos from the 2012 Event.

Well, back to the event! This year was an incredible turn out! It was great! Not only were fans treated to an exciting basketball game, an option for a meet & greet with Josh Hutcherson was available...and, boy, did those sell out FAST! After getting our wristbands for this event, we noticed the line of fans waiting for their moment to meet Josh Hutcherson, get a photo with him and get a signed Catching Fire poster. How cool was that! But, alas, we did not avail of such option...haha! As I looked around, I noticed that large groups of One Direction fans roaming around! Yes, there was a One Direction concert at the Staples Center as well! Every once in a while, while we waited for the game to start, we heard squeels from various groups of One Direction fans waiting for the doors to open to the Staples Center.

The Main Stage!
As the 6 o'clock hour arrived, we were allowed in to the basketball court area, and we made our way to the bleachers. The excitement was definitely building as we waited for the game to start. First one on the court to warm up was Ben Lyons!

To start the festivities for the evening, Alexis Keegan sang the National Anthem...and she sang it beautifully!

Of course, one of the most exciting moment of this event was the presenting of the check! How awesome was that! Not only to raise funds for an important cause for the youth today, but to also raise awareness for their MISSION.

Another memorable and exciting moment during the game was the dance off with Josh Hutcherson! Yes, one lucky fan got to dance with Josh!

We were absolutely giddy with excitement throughout the entire game! Everyone played a good game and had fun! However, there was a concerned moment when James Lafferty got injured; but after the medics checked him out, it didn't look like it was too serious. But, he was still out of the game...he played a good game.

This was definitely a fun-filled and exciting Friday night for a good cause! What more can I say!!??!! This is my second year going, and we have had an incredibly amazing fun each time! It was definitely worth it to support such a great cause, and be part of the excitement and fun!

Straight But Not Narrow's vision is to encourage our youths, and everyone else, to be true to yourself and others...Just Be U!
