There's a new way to stay Valiant while you stay home: VALIANT HERO OF THE WEEK!

We want to offer some entertainment and escapism for Valiant fans during this challenging period. Every Monday for the next several weeks, Valiant will post a poll on Twitter that features four heroes, and the fans will determine who becomes the Valiant Hero of the Week! Once a hero is selected by the end of Monday, they will be celebrated throughout the week with:

Engaging social content encouraging fans to share their favorite art, covers, stories, and more
Free PDFs featuring the hero
Videos from Valiant staff saying why they love the hero and suggesting ways to celebrate
Giveaways
And more!

If you do participate in the weekly celebration and create content about the winning hero, please send us your link(s) and we'll make sure to share it on our social channels and feature the content in our weekly newsletter The Valiant Voice. We'll be using #ValiantAndQuarantine in all related posts. Please always feel free to reach out with asset requests – we're happy to provide high res artwork, covers, PDFs, quotes from staff, and more.

Valiant Hero of the Week kicks off on Monday (March 30th) and the first poll will feature Bloodshot, Punk Mambo, Quantum & Woody, and Ninjak. Who will you vote for?

"Bloodshot" Review

The Premise: Vin Diesel plays the titular character known as "Bloodshot" (whose civilian name is Ray Garrison), a former soldier turned super-weapon by way of nano technology infused into his blood that make him stronger and more durable with the ability to repair the injuries he sustains at a rapid rate. After being saved from a near-death experience with these newfound abilities, he must find down the parties responsible for the death of his wife.

The Good: David S. F. Wilson is making his directorial debut after a career of working in VFX and that particular background is evident in the creativity and design of the special effects throughout the film. Though some have criticised Vin Diesel's performance, it's no less adequate than the performers that popularised the B movie action flick in decades past. The difference is that this time there is a budget and technological advancements to better develop the straight-forward revenge plots of those films.

Who The Film Is For: The general consensus from Valiant fans seems to be that they appreciate the film's approach in adapting the source material. Those looking for a less child-oriented superhero film, or a nostalgic trip down memory lane of the revenge-seeking action star are sure to enjoy this.

Valiant Promotes Heather Antos & Lysa Hawkins

As Senior Editors, Heather and Lysa will play key roles in managing the Editorial Department, crafting the future of the Valiant Universe, overseeing relationships with comic book creators, and much more. Lysa and Heather both have extensive and acclaimed careers in the comic book industry and have been influential in the return of many fan-favorite Valiant characters while also establishing completely original properties that explore new areas of the Valiant Universe.

Heather says Valiant Entertainment is unlike any other publisher she has worked with. "Valiant has allowed editorial to break tradition and the mold in some very exciting ways, and I could not be more thrilled to be taking on this new role alongside my friend and colleague Lysa." Heather adds that the two have ambitious plans for Valiant's future.
