The Librarians S04E12 "And the Echoes of Memory" Recap

Nicole is revealed to have knocked out and kidnapped Flynn when he had chosen to stay with Baird and tether to the Library. In the present, Eve follows a lead Flynn left her on a TV ring. In this new alternate world, Eve tracks down Jake and brings him along to try to find the others, though he only remembers working in the Library as a sort of dream as opposed to remembering it as a true memory.

They track down Cassandra next working at a paper company and Eve finds she is struggling to remember the Library as vividly as when she entered this world. Finally they find Ezekiel working as a television host. Here he is the most famous person in the world. Eve continues to struggle with a rapid degeneration of her memory until she is confronted by Nicole, who puts her into a mental institution. While inside, she meets Flynn but the two don't remember one another.

Flynn is reprimanded for making trouble, which leads to Nicole punishing him with electroshock therapy to try to push him to forget his former life entirely. Meanwhile Jake and Cassandra recruit Ezekiel, who is convinced to join them due to his instincts and his otherwise inexplicable ability to know Cassandra's name despite her never having told it to him.

Eve tracks down Flynn and the two are able to reconnect their relationship as well as regain their memories. Nicole catches them and orders that they be lobotomized. Jake, Cassandra, and Ezekiel rescue Eve in time, and together they manage to rescue Flynn. They all run away while being pursued by Nicole and her minions but eventually find themselves trapped with no way out. Flynn instructs them on how to remanifest the Library, which restores the world but Jenkins is still dead.

Flynn uses an artifact and has Nicole help him with it so he can go back in time and right his wrong of never having gone back for Nicole. Flynn tells Nicole that she needs to stay in the past but convinces her to have adventures for the Library instead of going against it. As a result, she never became immortal. When Flynn returns to the present, time has been restored and none of the evil Nicole caused has taken place. Flynn and Eve are the only ones that remember the other world and are overjoyed to find that Jenkins is alive and immortal once more. They then decide to undergo the tethering ceremony as Librarian and Guardian.

The Librarians is available on streaming and on-demand platforms.

The Librarians S04E11 "And the Trial of the One" Recap

Loud bells begin to chime in the Library which indicates that the tethering needs to happen right away. Jenkins is able to get the bells to stop ringing for now but he tells them that the Library is beginning to untether from reality and the only way to stop it is to perform the tethering ceremony as soon as possible. The Librarians struggle to decide who will be the one to tether themselves since they do not take the decision to become immortal lightly.

Cassandra finds a spell, The Ritual of the One, and asks Stone to read it in the hopes that it will be able to decide which one of them is the best and in turn be the one to be tethered to the Library. They initially believe it didn't work but all of them are eventually brought to the Trial grounds, where the Library decrees a battle to the death that will leave only one Librarian alive. The Library has taken Jenkins captive and his life will be forfeited if the Librarians refuse to participate.

Cassandra, Stone, and Ezekiel are each transported to their worst nightmares. While in there, they encounter versions of their friends recast as enemies. They are pushed to forget one another and then emerge without memories of one another. Each Librarians is convinced that the only way to save Jenkins is to kill the others in order to be the first to hit a gold button. A violent battle ensues between the three of them until Eve intervenes and talks them down, convincing them not to murder one another.

Jenkins is freed but the Library still kills him. The Librarians are all outraged by this move so they all resign. With the Librarianship now vacant, Eve is devastated. Nicole Noone visits Eve and tells her that this was all part of her plan. Now that the Library has been abandoned by the Librarians and remains untethered, it fades out of reality and Eve is left alone in a washed-out alternate world.

The Librarians S04E10 "And Some Dude Named Jeff" Recap

Eve and the Librarians set off to leave he Library to go on yet another mission. When they call for Jenkins to open a door for them to teleport to their destination, none of them appear to notice that it is a random and simple man named Jeff. Some time later, the real Jenkins wakes at Jeff's residence and quickly determines that he and Jeff have switched bodies. Jenkins is berated by Jeff's mother, who wants him to perform his household chores, including feeding and tending to her many cats. Jenkins must catch a ride from Jeff's co-workers since Jeff's mother's car doesn't work.

Eve and the Librarians return to the Library and scold Jeff (as Jenkins) for not sending them to the precise location although they were able to solve their case regardless. Jenkins isn't able to get into the Library and when the team observes him on the security feed, they merely dismiss him as a crazy person. Jenkins returns to Jeff's home and with the help of Jeff's co-workers he discovers that Jeff had been an avid fan of the Librarians and even built a shrine to them. Jeff's co-workers are a group of techno-nerd and have been using the team names as Dungeon and Dragons characters. As Jenkins continues to talk to Jeff's co-workers, he determines that Jeff acquired a dangerous book which he used to switch bodies and recruits this group to help him work on getting back into the Library. They all believe him when he tells them the truth about who he is and how he ended up in Jeff's body. Jenkins trains the group and together they work on getting into the Library through a back door.

In the Library, the rest of the group grows increasingly suspicious of Jeff till he is forced to admit who he really is and how he was able to switch into the body of Jenkins. Jeff leads them to where he had left the book but they find that it has dissolved into slime, as it had been the prison of Asmodeus, Duke of Hell. Jeff using the book to switch bodies had weakened the spell binding him inside and now he is running amok in the Library searching for a particular gem he can use to full free himself.

Jenkins becomes discouraged but his new friends help him navigate through the various traps and challenges till they finally get all the way back into the Library. Jeff is saddened by the idea of having to go back to what he sees as a boring life but Jenkins advises him of the importance of returning to his body and that there is much to enjoy in life as a mortal. Together they realise that the gem Asmodeus is after isn't in the Library because Jeff had given it to his mother. They race back to Jeff's house and rescue Jeff's mother and defeat Asmodeus, who had already ran off after defeating the other Librarians.

After Jenkins and Jeff defeat Asmodeus, they find that they had switched back into their regular bodies. Jenkins decides to continue his friendship with the group and even becomes the Dungeon Master of Jeff's D&D group.

The Librarians S04E09 "And a Town Called Feud" Recap

Eve, Jacob, and Ezekiel head to a small town to investigate some strange happenings related to a local legend about two brothers that joined opposite sides of the Civil War and ended up killing one another. They decide that a locket split in half is at the heart of these happenings, and they must keep the two parts apart despite the fact that they're intended to be brought together in an upcoming ceremony. Recently, locals have been claiming to see ghosts of the Loveday brothers and other Civil War soldiers.

Cassandra and Jenkins decide to investigate the brother Librarians that Darrington claimed as proof that there can only be one Librarian at the time. Their falling out was said to be the cause of the Dark Ages but Cassandra and Jenkins hope to prove Darrington wrong.

Ezekiel is approached by a strange man who summons him to meet up later. Ezekiel brings Jacob with him and they learn that the man is a conspiracy theorist who believes the government is using the story of ghosts to cover up the fact that they're actually working with alien robots. The team later encounters ghosts of the soldiers who are chanting 'The brothers are rising' which prompts the team to guess that they need to steal the locket before the two halves can be joined the following morning.

Ezekiel and Jacob have become increasingly competitive with one another due to the nature of the case of feuding brothers. They return to the museum where the locket is being kept and find some old photographs in a safe that Ezekiel breaks into. They are caught by the museum curator who reveals that the locket has been moved to a secret location. Police arrive to arrest them for attempted robbery.

Cassandra opens up to Jenkins that she's worried that if there can truly only be one Librarian that she won't make the cut. But ideally she would rather the team stay together. Jenkins admits that he likes having them all around. Their investigation into the Librarian brothers' feud reveals that they truly did cause the Dark Ages because they had put their own personal egos ahead of their service to the Library.

At the ceremony, the two locket halves are joined together which causes the ghosts of the Loveday brothers to appear along with the other soldiers. Eve tells the museum curator to break the locket apart but she is unable to pull it apart. The ghosts possess the townsfolk while the ghosts of the brothers possess Ezekiel and Jacob who had been arguing over which of them could be the one to pull the locket apart. Eve finally manages to pull the locket apart but it doesn't end anyone's possessions. The re-enactment goes through and the townsfolk all fire but they all miss one another after which they're freed from their possession. The ghost brothers are revealed to have reconciled their differences before eventually dying in a bomb blast. The museum curator admits to have lied about the brotherly feud for her own interests in keeping the museum open. One brother had lost his son, which drove him away from wanting to fight in the war, while the other brother decided to turn away from the Confederate because he fell in love with a black woman.

The team returns to the Library where Cassie and Jenkins have now been convinced to believe Darrington's claim that there can only be one Librarian despite their earlier beliefs that the team could remain intact. Conversely, Jacob and Ezekiel are now supportive of the idea of there being multiple Librarians despite their earlier belief that there could only be one.

The Librarians S04E08 "And the Hidden Sanctuary" Recap

Cassandra is suffering from nightmares about her own mortality after a mission in Ecuador went badly. She decides to take a brief hiatus and visit Havenport, Ohio, as it's supposed to be the safest city in the US. She stays at a local home where she meets her landlady Carla and her son, Freddy. They used to live in the city but had moved in order to seek out a safer life.

Cassandra is shown around town where she meets some of the locals and observes how there aren't any traffic lights or stop signs. The town is also about to have a celebration of going 10,000 days without any sort of accident. It's eerily safe, with no accidents. Cassandra is nearly hit by a car but she manages to fall back and be caught by Councilman Weeks who has a flirtation going with Carla.

Cassandra decides to take up a job at the local library and gets a call from Jenkins who wants her to come back but refrains from pushing her into doing so. She mentions nearly getting hit by the car and Freddy overhears her. He asks her about how things are off in the town but she is determined to enjoy her hiatus and encourages Freddy to find the right book in the library that will offer him adventure and excitement.

Cassandra begins to enjoy making a life for herself in the town. She is helping Councilman Weeks put some posters up when he seemingly pricks his finger and becomes alarmed but pretends everything is fine and leaves Cassandra to finish her work. He passes by a small snow globe in a display case and says there is a problem, after which a crack appears in the glass.

Freddy approaches Cassandra again, pushing her to understand that people should be asking questions about why things are so seemingly perfect. He shows her a secret room he has in which he has compiled all kinds of research into the town's history and their records which reveal that the town defies all kinds of statistics. She begins to grow suspicious until she finally realises the truth of his statements by lighting a bunsen burner and sticking his arm into the flame. He isn't injured at all so she runs off trying to figure out what's going on and maintain her happy, safe life.

Ben follows Cassandra to the town square where they observe a strange series of accidents triggering one after another. Whatever was protecting the town from being hurt is seemingly no longer working. The residents gather for a town meeting in which they express their concerns to Councilman Weeks who still wants to have the festival even though the record won't be broken.

Cassandra decides to try to solve the case of what has happened to cause the town to be so safe and consequently no longer. But the various town members becomes suspicious of Cassandra as a newcomer and begin to blame her for the town no longer being a safe neighborhood. She tries to get her bag and leave but the connection is bad in trying to call Jenkins to summon a door out of the town. Freddy offers to help Cassandra and reveals that photos from the town all have a particular lens flare that Cassandra recognises as a fairy.

Cassandra and Ben read up on fairy mythology and determine a course of action to try to find the fairy. They lure it out by trying to drop a book on Cassandra's head and throwing up iron shavings that will slow the fairy down because it's allergic. They follow after the fairy only for Councilman Weeks to arrive and snatch the fairy up with the snow globe. He reveals how he was lost in the woods as a child and found a fairy stuck. She granted him a wish as thanks and he wished that no one would get hurt anymore. Ever since then she's been protecting the town. Now Weeks blames Cassandra, who determines that by using the magical portal to come in, she punctured the magical barrier. He chases after Cassandra and Freddy, who run outside and are confronted with the entire town.

Freddy has taken the snow globe and smashes it to free the fairy. She is angry about being forced to serve humans for 27 years and begins to shoot fire beams from her eyes to get revenge. Everyone escapes into the local town hall where everyone has now shifted the blame onto Weeks. Freddy steps up to defend him, saying that they're all to blame for not seeking the truth out despite it being clear that something was wrong in the town.

The townsfolk all cry out for Cassandra to help, causing her to flashback to the failed mission in Ecuador. She then has a vision of Jenkins asking her what she wants to be and she declares that she wants to be a Librarian. She determines that they must lure the fairy into the gazebo since it's made of iron and is the only thing large enough to trap her. Weeks volunteers himself to be the bait. Through a series of coordinated lures, the townsfolk are able to get the fairy to go after Weeks and get trapped in the gazebo.

Cassandra implores the fairy to understand that Weeks was just a scared little boy trying to protect a scared town. The fairy won't be deterred from her vengeance quest but Cassandra reminds her that she owes Freddy a wish for freeing her. He wishes for the fairy to know what it's like to feel fear. This is what convinces the fairy to return to her natural size and be free to go on without harming the town.

Havenport begins to re-implement the necessary safety measures of a typical town. Cassandra says goodbye to Freddy and Carla, implying that Freddy will one day be invited to become a Librarian. Cassandra also encourages Carla to give Weeks another chance, and is told that she'll always be welcome to visit the town again. Jenkins comes to pick Cassandra up and bring her back to the Library.

The Librarians S03E07 "And the Disenchanted Forest" Recap

Eve informs the other Librarians of Flynn's resignation and departure from the Library, stemming from Darrington's concerns that having more than one Librarian will lead to a Civil War. The Librarians ponder whether Flynn now hopes and expects two more of them to resign. Eve decides that the best course of action is to bring the Librarians to a team-building camp, having spotted it from the clippings book but also wanting the team to come back together again.

At the camp, Jacob develops an attraction to one of the counsellors. The Librarians take part in the various team-building exercises while learning that various campers have been disappearing under mysterious circumstances. The camp organizer simply calls them quitters with no further explanation.

Jacob and the counselor he's interested in go searching through the forest, while Eve follows a lead that sends her into a cabin. A man named Tannon sends her away, having already heard of her as the unachievable standard in his own profession and doesn't want her winning the competitive aspect of the camp.

Jacob's counselor is smitten by his charms and his admitting to believing in magic so she reveals to him that she is actually a reporter who was fired for writing about the Library. She thinks that these strange happenings will lead to the Library and vindicate her professionally so she could get her job back. She runs off when he takes too long to respond to her and his hand gets pricked on a tree. He finds footage from a Gopro belonging to another camper that is shown to have been yanked away by some live vines and branches. Ezekiel and Cassandra discover a mysterious suitcase in the lake that they believe is related to the case.

Cassandra and Ezekiel distract the team organiser, Mr. Bender, while Eve and Jake search through his cabin to try to find more information regarding the disappearances. Jake becomes disoriented by the sounds he has been hearing on and off since his hand was priced in the woods. Jake and Eve argue about her aggression in pushing the team to come together but Jake determines that she is just trying to fill the void that Flynn left behind when he quit without even saying goodbye. In her moment of passionate outburst, she knocks over a file that holds all the information not he missing campers and sets off to find Ezekiel and Cassandra while Jake goes to talk to his counselor. Jake apologises for earlier and tries to tell her the truth about his connection to the Library but collapses due to the sounds he's been hearing. Vines emerge and yank him into the woods.

She tells Eve, Cassandra, and Ezekiel about Jake being pulled in by vines. Jenkins tells them that this is the Devil's Forest and people have been disappearing there for at least the last century. They consider that Bender might be an immortal stealing souls to extend his own lifeform. Native Americans had believed that there was a Grandfather Tree from which all the world's forests originate. Eve and the Librarians confront Bender who admits he has been hiding the disappearances but doesn't know what's going on.

Eve and the Librarians finally track down the Grandfather Tree and find Jake's image in the tree. Some team members try to destroy the tree but then Jake's face speaks to tell them not to cut the tree down. Jake is being used as a translator for the Grandfather Tree and Jake was the perfect person for this since he's a linguist that speaks over 64 dialects. They give the Librarians a golden acorn that can be used to rebuild the forest if it is ever destroyed. Eve promises to protect it, after which Jake and all the other campers and people taken over the years are released from the trees. Jake brings his counselor to the Library to assure her she was right and reveals he is a Librarian. He sadly tells her he can't be with her since his destiny is with the Library.

The Librarians S04E06 "And the Graves of Time" Recap

Russian henchmen raid one of Nicole Noone's old grave to retrieve a mysterious key.

Flynn wants to find answers about whether Darrington is right about multiple Librarians being a risk for Civil War. The Equinox is 41 days away and it's then that Flynn and Eve will need to tether themselves to the Library or there will be dire consequences. Everyone back at the Library is searching for Eve, who has left for England to track down Nicole Noone to learn why she doesn't want to stay with the Library.

Eve and Nicole must work together when some more of the Russian henchmen raid another one of Nicole's old graves. A fight breaks out and the urn is shattered, revealing another key. The men get away with the key while Eve and Nicole are arguing over who has the better fighting/Guardian style and approach. Nicole reveals that she has been hiding artifacts in her old graves. The keys lead to Koschei's Needle, a powerful artifact for war that can destroy a nation or an immortal. Nicole wants Eve to leave but agrees to let her help when Eve threatens to call the rest of the Librarians.

Ezekiel hacks Eve's credit card history and learns that Eve went to England to track down Nicole. Flynn and Jenkins set off to find them while the other three Librarians will stay behind and look after the Library. Eve and Nicole head to another one of her many graves that she has been creating every twenty years to fake her death and start all over. Eve is sympathetic to Nicole having to say goodbye to so many people. Eve is shaken by the revelation of how heavy a burden the immortality from tethering oneself to the Library is.

Flynn and Jenkins discover that Eve and Nicole are after the needle and argue over their disagreement regarding Nicole's former imprisonment. Meanwhile Eve admits to Nicole that she is afraid of being alone and end up like her. They continue on their journey and come across Flynn and Jenkins who had tracked them down. Flynn has managed to triangulate the location of the needle and Jenkins is upset that Flynn and Eve trust Nicole. Jenkins believes that Nicole wants to use the needle to kill him but the argument is interrupted by gunfire.

The group must run away from Ukrainian military that are chasing after them. Eve and Jenkins end up captured by the men that have been hunting down the artifacts in Nicole's graves, while Flynn and Nicole remain free. The man in charge is receptive to working with them once Jenkins says that they are not in league with Nicole. The man claims that Nicole destroyed his family. Flynn and Nicole find the group and watch from afar, hidden in the trees. Nicole recognises the man in charge and appears fearful before telling Flynn they need to continue on their mission. Flynn reluctantly agrees to go with Nicole when she tells him he should trust Eve to be able to take care of herself and get out free.

The man in charge tells Eve and Jenkins that he is a descendant of the Romanovs. Their family was corrupted by Rasputin and Nicole was acting as his accomplice. Eve believes in the goodness in Nicole but Jenkins is more inclined to believe the man. Eve is shaken when the man shows her photos of Nicole with Rasputin a century ago.

Nicole tells Flynn they have both become prisoners of the Library and he's the only one that can't see it. They continue on their journey and reach the location of the needle. They must decode the riddle to find where in the area it is hidden. Flynn cracks the code and unlocks the security measurements, triggering a mechanism to pull the hidden chest out of the water.

Jenkins and Eve track Nicole and Flynn down while accompanied with the man and his henchmen. Nicole tells them that the man in charge is actually Rasputin and he used dark magic to stay alive. She knows this because she had infiltrated his organisation. Jenkins is pondering whether Nicole is telling the truth when Rasputin grabs the needle and stabs Nicole with it to restore his youth. Rasputin's henchmen run away, not having realised the magnitude of what they were getting involved with.

The group runs away from Rasputin and Eve chides herself for letting Nicole down. Flynn had installed a radiation detector on his phone and he decides to run toward it. Rasputin sends Flynn flying off but Eve uses her strength to force Rasputin to stab a pipe full of radiation with the needle which results in his death. Nicole is brought back to the Library where Jenkins has a ritual performed to give his own immortality over to Nicole to save her life.

Nicole thanks Jenkins profusely and leaves the Library, though not before advising him to not be a prisoner. Later, Eve meets with Jenkins who informs her that Flynn has left behind his tethering ring and taken his belongings. He has resigned from the Library.

The Librarians S04E05 "And the Bleeding Crown" Recap

An entire small town wakes up to find they are senior citizens. The Librarians are called in to investigate the strange happenings. Flynn and Eve visit the family that were recorded as being the first to turn old and find out they saw a red flash of light similar to a light bulb popping before they turned. The other Librarians spot a young woman that hasn't changed and chase after her when she takes off running. They call Eve to let her know what they've found. The Librarians follow her into a warehouse and end up surrounded by masked individuals wearing sacks on their head. A man comes swinging down on a rope and introduces himself as Darrington Dare, an old Librarian from the 1880's.

When Eve and Flynn arrive, Flynn is overcome with excitement to meet Darrington as he's a fan of his work. They leave the warehouse and decide to team up with one another to solve this case. While regrouping at a diner, Darrington reveals to the group that his nemesis Ambrose Gethik is behind the strange happening. Ambrose stole the Bleeding Crown from the vampire queen of Northampton. It is an old artifact that has the power to drain a man's life force and Ambrose used it to kill Darrington's man-servant before opening a portal to the future. Darrington followed Ambrose into the future but the difference in time of their entering the portal means that Ambrose has been here for months and Darrington arrived a few hours ago.

Ambrose has been creating powerful clones of himself but there is a problem with the technology to do so. Thus, all the clones have a rapid degeneration of their skin which is why they all wear sacks over their head. Flynn knows that Darrington is nearing his death-date which is tomorrow but they're not permitted to warn him because it's against the rules.

Flynn and Darrington head out to investigate and Darrington is shocked to learn that the other trio are also Librarians. Darrington is adamant that there can only be one library at a a time but the conversation is interrupted when they spot the same young woman the trio had pursued earlier before she disappeared. They follow her to a house in the woods where the young woman is living with her parents who also haven't aged. They have been hiding out because they became concerned that the aging might be contagious condition. What Darrington and Flynn determine is that the family has remained unharmed because they haven't been able to pay their electric bills. Electricity is a key component to the aging problem.

Eve and the trio follow their own investigation and come across a box with Artemis' initials on it. They are surrounded by the clones with sacks on their head. A red light flashes and then they are turned into senior citizens. Flynn and Darrington exit the house of the only non-turned-old family to discover their old colleagues. Flynn brings them all back to the Library where Jenkins is shocked to see what has happened to them. Darrington also confronts Jenkins about there being four Librarians in the modern day.

Darrington has Jenkins get out the Book of Librarians which Flynn has studied extensively. There are some pages ripped out of it and Darrington recites a magical incantation to restore them. It tells about how there were two Librarians once before and the rift between the brothers was what led to the Dark Ages. Darrington warns him of the risks of any doubts or fissures among the Librarians.

Flynn and Darrington leave to confront Ambrose while the Eve and the trio seemingly stay asleep at the Library. Ambrose reveals that Eve and trio at the Library are merely clones of the real Eve and trio. The only reason he turned the town old was to disguise where he had kept the real ones the entire time. Jenkins must fight off the old clones while Flynn and Darrington must free Eve and the trio before Ambrose harvests the Library-energy infused in them to try to kill Darlington. Ambrose has his clones lock Flynn in another chamber and the Library-energy beings to be pulled from the individuals. Flynn is pushing to keep the door of his chamber open and Darrington tosses him a device to scare off the clones.

Darrington and Ambrose must engage in sword fight, with Ambrose still wearing the Bleeding Crown. He is using a sword with a blade composed entirely of Library-energy. Flynn grabs a sword of his own to help Darrington fight Ambrose. The fight carries on and Flynn wants to go free the others but Darrington says they can be sacrificed and the Library will understand. He berates Darrington and Ambrose for caring more about fighting than their own good/evil causes. Flynn leaves them to their fighting and goes back to try to destroy the console draining his friends of Library energy.

Flynn returns to the Library and saves Jenkins, who has been tied up by the clones. He uses Darrington's device to scare off the clowns and brings Jenkins back through the door. Ambrose is about to kill Darrington, who finally realises Flynn was right in pointing out he has been blinded by his hate. When Darrington spots Flynn, he seems him signal to stall. Darrington being to talk to Ambrose, encouraging him to reminisce about their fights over the years. Flynn loads Jenkins into one of the machines and overloads the Bleeding Crown which destroys Ambrose and saves Darrington.

Darrington thanks Flynn for saving him and Flynn reminds him that he was able to save him because he saved his friends. Flynn encourages Darrington to find friends and wishes him to have a happy birthday the following day, all the while knowing history has shown it's his death-date. But after he goes through, the history book shifts and shows that he reconnected with his friends who were with him on his birthday and able to help him fight off his foe. As a result, he lived 62 years longer than he originally had and lived a life without regrets. Flynn later discovers a letter in the book from Darrington that says he never stopped thinking about Flynn and despite his gratitude to Flynn, he is still adamant that there should only ever be one Librarian in the Library. His dying wish is that Flynn will put things right before it's too late.

The Librarians S04E04 "And the Silver Screen" Recap

Eve and Flynn go out to see her favourite Film Noir at a local cinema. Eve pushes him to put aside all of their normal responsibilities to have a night of being normal. During a scene in the film where there is a knocking at the door, Eve and Flynn disappear in a flash of light. The other Librarians try to retrace their steps to find where they've disappeared to by checking out the cinema they were last seen at. A worker at the cinema shows them the film the duo had seen and how Eve and Flynn are now trapped in the film in place of the lead characters. They are crying out for help but can't hear the people out in the real world calling out to them.

Cassandra determines that the cinema lies in a lay-lake that collects magical energy which has contributed to the screen becoming a magical artifact that sucked Eve and Flynn in. The only way to get them out is to get the film to end in the way that it was intended. Eve also figures this out and encourages Flynn to go through the motions of finishing the film. Eve is a super-fan of the film so she knows exactly what has transpired in it and in what order.

First, Eve must dig a bullet out of Flynn's arm and then pour them drinks. Madeline Kincaid arrives and needs Flynn's help to retrieve a stolen ruby necklace by a gangster, Tony the Shaz. The Librarians and Jenkins determine a way to try to call the office in the film but Jenkins is unable to reach them. When he comes back to the main area, he finds the other Librarians have disappeared to try to go after Eve and Flynn help them. Unfortunately, they end up in a different Western film instead. Jake and Ezekiel are about to be hanged until Cassandra begins to shoot up the other men trying to execute them. Jake later sings a song around a campfire, while Eve and Flynn follow the plot to confront Tony the Shaz.

Jake, Cassandra, and Ezekiel end up transported to a science-fiction film in space while Jenkins works with the daughter of the film's writer to determine that his typewriter is the artifact. They also find out that the credited writer didn't actually write the film and changed its original ending. When Eve and Flynn reach the end, they end up right back to the beginning. Jenkins is able to call again and relay the information. They must use their Librarian savvy to figure out the original ending to be able to get free from the film. In the film, Madeline Kincaid had been the plot-twist-villain. Instead of letting it play out till the end, when Madeline first visits they confront her about being involved with Tony the Shaz. The original ending saw Madeline as the heroine trying to get her daughter back that Tony was keeping captive as punishment for Madeline leaving.

Eve and Flynn play the movie out in a nearly identical fashion but this time when they reach the end, Madeline emerges as the heroine trying to get her daughter back. However, the entire scene is interrupted by Jake, Cassandra, and Ezekiel crashing into the scene through their magical transportation device and fighting off Tony the Shay's goons. Eve and Flynn escort Madeline down to reunite with her daughter.

The film writer's daughter learns that an older woman named Eleanor that had come to see the film play is actually her mother and the original writer of the film. Though she had been separated from her daughter, she never stopped loving her. All the Librarians get free from the films.

The Librarians S04E03 "And the Christmas Thief" Recap

Santa Claus will be going on holiday with his elves and Flynn, Eve, and Jenkins. The other Librarians must look after his sleigh in the Library., as it's the first time it's been out of his possession. While the Librarians exchange gifts, Ezekiel slips away to use a magical door to be transported back to Australia. He visits his adopted mother and sisters who frequently take part in small-time theft. His mother is unhappy when Ezekiel brings her a gift that he bought instead of stealing it. They doubt his competence as a thief so he brings his mother Lenore to the Library to prove what he's made of himself. He quickly realises how unwise a decision it was to bring her so he sends her back through the magic door, not noticing she's left her foot to hold the door open.

Some time later the Librarians realise that Lenore has stolen the magic door that can take her anywhere she goes. Ezekiel wants to sort things out himself so the others won't meet his family but when Cassandra tries to call Eve about the problem Ezekiel's begging prompts her and Jake to help him. Since they no longer have the magic door to get them to Australia, they decide to use Santa's sleigh to find her and get the door back.

Upon arriving in Australia, the Librarians find that Lenore has been using the magic door to steal Christmas presents from all over the world, and most alarmingly, have stolen an elusive stolen painting from the vault of the Bank of Thieves. The Librarians bring Lenore along to return the painting. Ezekiel needs to play a game of chess to unlock the entrance to the vault. Ezekiel warns his mother to not say his name out loud while there, or else it will alert other thieves that dislike him.

Ezekiel comes up with a plan for Jake and Cassandra to cause a distraction in the main room while Ezekiel and Lenore swipe a key card to get into the vault. The pressure is on, as the punishment for stealing in the Bank of Thieves is to be killed by manner of liquidation. Ezekiel has to do some acrobatic tricks to beat a moving laser security measurement. Once he gets to the other side, he disarms it and his mother comes in with him to put the painting back. However, another security measure is triggered, causing Ezekiel and Lenore to be captured.

The Saint of Thieves emerges and when Lenore tries to flirt with him, she reveals Ezekiel's name and the two are taken into the Saint's office. Lenore is shocked to learn that Ezekiel is considered the world's greatest thief. The Saint uses some magical power to force Lenore to reveal the truth, including her use of the magic door and that Santa's sleigh is vulnerable to being stolen. The Saint wants to destroy the sleigh, and Santa is revealed to be his brother.

The Saint's men find the sleigh and bring it to the Bank, where Cassandra and Jake have stayed hidden. They call Jenkins for help on how to repair the door, as it has overheated, and ask him to not tell Eve or Flynn.

Lenore is angry at Ezekiel for not telling her he was a world-class thief, and Ezekiel is angry at her for not having listened to him when he would tell her of what he had done. The Saint demands that the sleigh be stolen and gifted to him, as he can't accept a gift that isn't stolen. Ezekiel refuses to give over the sleigh but Lenore steals the key off of him and gives the Saint the sleigh.

Lenore and Ezekiel are left tied up and argue further, and Ezekiel reveals that despite the large amount of wealth he accumulated as a thief he never kept any of it for himself. He always used the money from his scores to give back to people in need. He finally seemingly mends his relationship with his mother.

Cassandra uses a magical device to appear to Ezekiel's sisters and tricks them into believing she is a ghost. She gives them instructions on how to repair the magic door, as the orb that controls it is still in their home. Jake fights some guards at the the Bank that are monitoring the sleigh. Ezekiel and Lenore get to the sleigh too. The magic door opens but the Saint and his men block their access to the door. Jenkins emerges from the door and gives the Saint a note and a card from Santa, who gifts his brother the sleigh. The Saint can't accept gifts that aren't stolen so he is no longer able to accept the sleigh now or ever. Christmas is saved and the Saint reverts back to a child throwing a tantrum.

As there are still numerous stolen gifts to return, Ezekiel decides to bring his mother with him on the sleigh to bring them all back.

The Librarians S04E02 "And the Steal of Fortune" Recap

Gamblers at the Fortune Downs casino and racetrack are having a supernaturally large amount of bad luck, which the Librarians don't know about since they're looking for a new way to detect when new magic manifests. Jake brings Ezekiel to the Fortune Downs racetrack to enjoy some down-time, as Jake has an old friend named Slayton who works there with the horses. Slayton tells about how he had had really bad luck but believes his fortune is about to change. The conversation is interrupted by a crime boss named Bennie and his goons and girl that arrive to take Slayton's favourite horse away.

Slayton has to go to the hospital when a mix of chemicals from regular items combines badly with a bee sting to create an allergic reaction. While at the hospital, Jake and Ezekiel observe a considerable number of other patients that have all been injured due to bad luck and all are connected to the Fortune Downs casino and racetrack. They gather the rest of the team and head back to find the magical source.

Cassandra gets sucked in by the allure of gambling, as her superior intellect should allow her to do well but ends up losing a considerable amount of money due to the magical forces at work that defy all the odds that she has calculated. Jake and Eve decide to investigate Bennie when they learn he is the owner of the casino. They determine he is stealing luck but they need to figure out how. Jake hypothesises that Bennie's pinky ring is the magical artifact. Bennie becomes alarmed when Cassandra is able to turn her losing streak around by ignoring the odds and instead calculating the trajectory of the roulette ball, as her luck should've been depleted. Ezekiel gets sucked into playing on a machine but eventually manages to beat it by hacking the machine.

Ezekiel manages to swipe Bennie's ring. The team consults with Flynn and Jenkins to discuss the ring and they find that the design on it shows Fortuna, the Roman goddess of Fortune. Cassandra continues to win out in the casino and Bennie orders his men to find his ring and apprehend Cassandra. The rest of the team follows the men that have taken Cassandra to a back room. Bennie attempts to interrogate her for answers on how she was able to keep winning. Cassandra says it was only mathematics she used to figure out how she won. Eve, Ezekiel, and Jake watch the scene from above the room in the vents. Cassandra closely observes Bennie's micro expressions and deduces that he's not a tough guy. Bennie's girlfriend reveals herself to be the one in charge as she's the goddess Fortuna. Fortuna wants to know which god sent Cassandra, and she claims it was Saturn. Fortuna is slowly turning back into a statue, as three of her fingers have already turned back into metal.

Eve, Ezekiel, and Jake determine that Fortuna blowing kisses on the casino's commercials are amplified by the electromagnetic waves of the technology. This is what has allowed her to steal the luck of those that watch the commercials. The trio pursue the guards that have taken Cassandra. Eve and Jake have been infected with bad luck but Ezekiel is immune somehow. Despite the difficulties with the bad-luck-impediment, the trio are able to overpower the guards and free Cassandra.

The team realises that Fortuna plans to blow a kiss on a live television broadcast, the ramifications of which could cause death and destruction to countless innocent victims. Fortuna threatens and assaults Bennie, ordering him to continue to do her bidding.

Jenkins and Flynn call the team and tell them how Jupiter betrayed Fortuna when realizing that she planned to rule the world by luck. Then she was cursed to one exist in the world as a statue. The team is nearly apprehended by a large group of bikers that are trying to hunt them down after a $100,000 reward was offered for the team to be apprehended. Bennie pops up and rescues the team and brings them to his office, where he asks them for help in overthrowing Fortuna. He was just a man with a gambling problem and through Fortuna's help, he began to win enough to own the casino.

There's no easy way to disable the cameras. Bennie reveals that his facial injury was caused by Fortuna hitting him with her bronze hand. She began to turn back into bronze when Cassandra started winning. They realise that the only way to stop Fortuna is to win in the casino, as it steals back the luck. The team works together to cheat and sabotage the system in a coordinated attack. Fortuna tries to get one of her hired goons to turn the camera on her but by then everyone in the casino and racetrack has won, forcing Fortuna back into a bronze statue.

The statue of Fortuna is brought back to the Library. Jake visits Slayton again, who has had his horse returned and his luck has also returned to normal. Without giving anything specific away, he lets Slayton know that he was involved in getting everything back to him as a form of payback for his friend.

The Librarians S04E01 "And the Dark Secret" Recap

A group of priests are hunting down the four cornerstones of the Library of Alexandria, not caring if they have to kill in order to accomplish their goal. They find the first in a church and the second in a barrel displays at a park.

The Librarians are rehearsing a ceremony that will bond Flynn and Eve to one another as well as tether them to the Library. The ritual is important to ensure the safety and lasting power of the Library. The Librarians get word about the cornerstones being taken so Ezekiel, Jacob, and Cassandra set out to the park. Ezekiel swipes a memory card from a tourist photographer and finds images of the priests on it. They must find the other cornerstones or else the Library can be destroyed forever.

Back at the Library, Nicole Noone is found. Nicole was Flynn's original guardian and has been locked up in a secret part of the library for hundreds of years. She is immortal and was formerly romantically involved with Flynn. She is the one that hid the cornerstones and Flynn had long believed her to be dead. She will talk but only to Flynn.

The group regathers at the Library while Flynn speaks to Nicole. Jenkins tells the others that the heretic Order of Shadows are responsible for what's going on, when he recognises the design of flames in their cross. They want to destroy the Library so that they will destroy all the knowledge and enlightenment it brings to the world.

Jacob determines that Nicole came up with a pneumonic device related to the muses that allowed her to remember where she hid the cornerstones. This allows the team to figure out where the final cornerstones are hidden. Jacob, Ezekiel, and Cassandra head to the Paris opera house. Cassandra calculates that the three of them need to sing a High C to shatter the crystal that has blocked off the cornerstone. They retrieve it and the priests emerge to try to capture it for themselves. A chase ensues while some opera singers rehearse. The trio is caught and brought into a car where they meet the leader of the Order of Shadows, Monsignor Vega (John Noble).

Eve demands that Nicole be released so she can take them to the final cornerstone. They head to a lake with Flynn and are met with considerable amounts of lightening shooting off. Nicole won't got into the field to retrieve it herself due to the lightening that keeps shooting into the ground. Flynn shoots mineral samples into the air to maneuver the lightening away so Eve can reach the stone. Once she gets there, the other two follow and retrieve it together. They are distracted by the sound of Cassandra screaming. When they all run into the barn they find the Order of Shadows and the other three Librarians. With all four cornerstones, they're able to start the ritual to try to destroy the Library.

The Librarians begin to fight the Order. Nicole uses one of the cornerstones to distract Monsignor Vega and throws it into the centre of the vortex created. Without the power from the fourth stone, the vortex is at risk of collapsing. Monsignor Vega has been sucked in and Nicole by accident. Flynn insists on jumping in after her. Cassandra figures out how the Librarians and Eve can boost the signal and they all work together to keep it open long enough for Flynn to retrieve Nicole and the Library is saved.

Eve calls in a favour to have the members of the Order arrested. Nicole runs off while the Librarians and Eve are celebrating. Nicole only stopped the plan to destroy the Library because she wanted to save Flynn. The team contemplates whether Nicole will pose a threat to them and the Library's safety in the future before resuming rehearsals for the ceremony that they only have three months to perfect before the vernal equinox on which it must take place. Flynn admits to Eve that he is worried about the ethical issues with Nicole's captivity but she assures him that an institution is only as good as those that run it and together they can make it something upstanding. Finally, Flynn finds a book left for him by Nicole that holds a picture of the two of them from younger days.

Cory Michael Smith on Ed Nygma's Frozen State and New Alliances in Gotham (Interview)

Cory Michael Smith is ready for Ed Nygma to get unfrozen and unleashed once again on "Gotham" in the upcoming fourth season. As Ed had a significant falling out with Oswald, resulting in both of them trying to kill each other, the two are set to be in conflict once again. Ed will have to make new alliances, and we learned about what's to come for him at San Diego Comic Con.

"With this year brings new challenges for him. A nice theme that's happened that's been fun to latch onto is his issue with identity. We find another identity crisis this year in the way he thaws and his mind not quite thawing well and his mental deficiencies and that being the thing to overcome. 'Who am I without my level of intelligence and wit and speed?' His intelligence is stunted so he's gonna struggle with getting ideas across but he's a pretty prideful person so he's a bit in denial of his abilities. So there's some potential for some humour, someone who think they can do something but cannot. I'm really excited about that."

Season four will see Ed align himself with new characters he had not yet truly intermingled with. "My storyline is going to cross paths with Solomon Grundy and Lee Tompkins this year. It's a very exciting, unexpected choice that they've made. I love especially that I've allowed Ed to be extremely influenced by the company he keeps. Part of the fun of him having extreme evolution has been being influenced by those around him. The kind of ruthlessness and toughness and directness that he took from being around Oswald may not work in this new arena that he's in. To be around a new character like Solomon Grundy whose brute strength is incredible but is an idiot, how do you navigate around this person and control them? Then being around someone like a really dark Lee Thompkins, however she may be, we haven't gotten to those scenes so I don't know how Morena is playing that... it's very exciting. I've worked with Drew a lot. The few things I've done with Morena have always been super fun and I'm particularly looking forward to that cause I think she's an extraordinary actress."

Sean Pertwee on Alfred's Resurrection, Loyalty to Bruce Wayne, and Backstory To Come (Interview)

Sean Pertwee went through his most visceral arc yet on "Gotham" when Alfred sacrificed himself to save Bruce Wayne, though Bruce resurrected him using water from the Lazarus Pit. "It was a very big haul, actually. Initially, when you read it you think, 'Would someone really do that?' It begs so many questions, doesn't it? What is this insane loyalty that he has to this boy? What is the insane loyalty to this mashido-like oath that he has with Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne? Why would he do this? He's never been able to love.

I've just found out what's going on in this season by my show-runner and it's very exciting. You find out there's not been a lot of love in Alfred's up-bringing. To be given the chance, and the propensity to be able to love, means that much to him that he would give his life, which I think is rather beautiful and I have to say, without blowing my trumpet, but David Mazouz who unfortunately is not here, I thought that was an Emmy-worthy performance. What you didn't see was cut short because they consolidated two shows into one was that they were gonna do a sort of montage sequence of our whole entire relationship over the last three years and what Alfred actually does mean to him as he plunges his sword through him. After he does it, he has this sort of flashback and it does actually bring him back. I found it was extraordinary being three inches away from the young man's face, him going through that, we did it in sixteen takes. It was just incredible. It was actually very emotional and very moving. I thought it believable that he would give himself for that love, for that boy to bring him back.

When we start season four, it's six months later. They are on the vigilante path which is interesting so we start to hit the stride which people were expecting us to be at day one, which is bizarre. Alfred and Bruce's relationship, people were horrified originally about our relationship. But now you start to see the relationship that flowers into the one where they're stitching each other up, where they've got each other's back, and they start to work. But of course, with any relationship, you need to fall apart to get stronger so that also happens."

Jessica Lucas on Tabitha's Mentorship of Selina Kyle ("Gotham" San Diego Comic Con 2017 Interview)

Jessica Lucas enters season four playing a whole new territory for Tabitha. Not only is she alone without the support of her once-close allies, but she is set to take on a mentoring role to the post-balcony-fallen Selina Kyle. Believing her former love interests, Barbara and Butch, to be dead when they're both set to rise again, there was plenty to discuss at San Diego Comic Con about what's in store for season four.

"She's in a quite vulnerable place for the first time. She has no allies. She's starting fresh. She's kind of hiding out. She's grieving over the loss of Butch. Then quite quickly she finds out that Barbara isn't dead. So that brings up all her emotions again, and her anger. In Gotham, it's who you align yourself with, who your allies are, that's how you survive. She might be put into a position where she has to trust Barbara again just to survive. I'm really excited to explore the relationship with Selina. That's gonna be really fun. I've been waiting for that since I signed onto the show so that'll be great. I didn't know when it was coming and they said it would be quite some time but I always knew. When we conceptualised Tabitha as a character, we wanted her to look somewhat similar to certain versions of Catwoman so that there would be a nod to that. The whip is Catwoman's weapon and she wears a lot of black leather. I loved Michelle Pfeiffer's version of Catwoman but the thing with Tabitha is she doesn't have that sexual element to her as much. She's not really a seductress. That's more of Erin's side of things of the wheelhouse. So that'll be interesting cause that's such a huge part of that character so Camren will have to discover that on her own without Tabitha's influence."

Ben McKenzie on Jim Gordon's New Alliances, Love Interests, and Battling Penguin (Interview)

Ben McKenzie's starring role as Jim Gordon on "Gotham" has been filled with action, heartbreak, and a whole lot of detective work. Season three introduced the Court of Owls, which presented a new glimpse into Jim's father and his origins as a character, something that will have its lasting effects in season four.

"It's informed how he feels about things. It's not so much playing out on the screen in terms of actual pieces of action because we've seemingly close-ended that. However, we effective haven't. The presence of Ra's who is kind of behind the Court of Owls on a deeper level, Ra's is very much in season four so we'll be dealing with the practical implications of that but in terms of the emotional stuff, Jim [is] more fully understanding who his father really was, who his uncle really was, and his relationship to them further deepens and makes more complex his relationship to justice, the justice in Gotham, how that's achieved, how that's maintained, and law and order.

Jim Gordon has also had his fair share of romantic entanglements, all of which have ended from bad to worse. "Jim can't make it work with a woman for the same reason that no one can make it work with anyone in a relationship in Gotham which is that we're telling a story of tragedy, of darkness, and moral depravity all around us. Jim will seek out new relationships and will explore those in season four. One of the delicate balances of the show is, it's a dark world, it's a world of Batman in terms of its tone, but we do wanna keep some hope alive, some glimmer of humanity in that. Whether it's the villains being empathetic on some level, to be able to understand their human motivations, or the heroes failing and succeeding and failing again, that applies throughout whether we're talking about the power struggles, or the relationships, or the power struggles in relationships."

Jim's story has also often been closely intertwined with Penguin, with whom he has a recurring cat and mouse dynamic of power and control that alternates between being foes or reluctant allies. "I think Jim, particularly at this point in the series, much more fully understands his limitations and what he's capable of doing and what he's not. Whereas he would've just charged straight at Oswald initially and tried to crush him, particularly when Oswald was much weaker, now that's not really a viable option. Instead, he seeks out new alliances. In this case it's with Sofia Falcone, daughter of Carmine Falcone, who will become prominently featured this season."

Erin Richards on Barbara Kean's Electric Resurrection ("Gotham" San Diego Comic Con Interview)

Erin Richards has spent the last three seasons on FOX's "Gotham" playing a rapidly evolving Barbara Kean. From doting girlfriend to power-hungry super-villain, there's been a wide wealth of material for her to play. Now that Barbara has died via electric shock from Tabitha's whip, there's a whole new version to play reborn from death, topped off with a new hairstyle.

"You're gonna see more skill. She's been brought back and trained up by Ra's al Ghul so she has fighting ability now, which will be a kind of Aikido-based martial arts, using other people's force against them. She's not a superhuman, I'm still the size that I am so if I'm fighting somebody big I have to be able to find a way to use their energy and power back against them.

This collaboration with Ra's al Ghul means the possibility of a refreshed intersection with Bruce Wayne. But just as she has been reborn into a more powerful fighter, Bruce has gone down a new path as a fledgling vigilante. "Barbara's interacted with the version of Bruce Wayne that is the child millionaire. That's really interesting because she calls him a brat and she sees this side of him but she's not met him as Bruce Wayne that will become Batman. I think that would be a really interesting development but I'm not sure that anybody can know him like that other than Alfred, Ra's al Ghul obviously, maybe Jim. I think that pocket has to be quite self-contained otherwise everybody would know who Batman was."

Robin Lord Taylor on Oswald Freezing Ed Nygma, Oswald's Parents, and Diversifying Content (San Diego Comic Con 2017 Interview)

When last we saw Oswald Cobblepot, he was well on his way to reclaiming his position of power and also had frozen Ed Nygma into ice to enact revenge for his attempt to kill Oswald. Now viewers are left to wonder just how long it will take before Ed is unfrozen and the two are reunited in their battle. "Obviously I can't give specifics... the lesson that Penguin never learns is the old saying, hubris precedes nemesis. Penguin, every time he makes a move that is successful or if he gets one over on someone, he immediately assume that it's locked and done. As we've seen over the past three seasons of the show, that's not the case. He thinks he's in a safe place keeping Riddler right there but he's also frozen the dude in a block of ice and put it as the center-piece of the Penguin Lounge. Stay tuned!"

Throughout the course of Oswald's journey on the series, viewers have seen how significant his relationship with his parents has been as well as the tragedy of losing both of them. "Danny Cannon, our executive producer, has said that one of the tenants of our show is, one of the bigger overarching themes is what happens to a human when love is lost, when love is taken away from them, when they don't experience love and they don't understand what it is. It's all about the loss of love, the lack of it, and what happens is you create super-villains. You create people who have no empathy, who put only themselves first. That's the overarching story that we're telling here. Oswald's loss of his parents, at least in the story that we're telling here, the loss of his parents are the reason why he becomes the monster, why ultimately, regardless of if there's something sympathetic about him or whatever people can see into that, regardless of all of that, he's a person who becomes a monster and deserves no empathy nor sympathy, [for] what he has done to innocent people since the pilot of our show. The loss of his parents are the main driving reason why he puts no one else above himself ever for the rest of his life."

Season three also brought about a plot point of Oswald becoming infatuated with Ed in an often too-rare showing in media of a same-sex romantic entanglement. "It's an enormous responsibility and as a gay man, it's incredibly personally important to me to not be cynical, to be honest with the character and true to the character, true to what his singular experience is, and also, any time you can show diversity on television especially LGBTQIA is an amazing gift, However, I will say though, I have a hard time accepting Oswald as a member of that community because he, as what we see with the Riddler, he has absolutely no idea of what love is. He has absolutely no true concept of what it is because what he does when he 'falls in love' is he rips the person that his loved one is most interested [in] out of his life. He murders that person. That's someone who is obviously so damaged and the moral compass is so off. I have a really hard time ascribing his experience to that of LGBTQIA. I love that just in the very least we portrayed this connection between these two characters, whether you want to call that love or whatever, but my favorite thing about doing that and this is a testament to the writers is that none of the characters used it as a derogatory thing against Oswald. It wasn't treated like, 'You're gay? I'm gonna blackmail you!' It was never about shaming him for being it, it was about getting one over on him cause he's a fucking asshole. But it wasn't about him being gay which, that's what I'm most proud of about that story. It was just another relationship."

Camren Biconodova on Selina Kyle's Whip Work and Relationship With Bruce (San Diego Comic Con 2017 Interview)

Camren Bicondova had plenty to tease about for Selina Kyle's jam-packed development in season 4. She's now undergone the quintessential "falling to a non-death and then being promptly swarmed by cats" moment of her character's origin story and now Bicondova will get to act alongside Jessica Lucas ("Tabitha") to further develop her fighting and whip skills. "It becomes a mix between a mentorship and a sisterhood. Selina initially goes to Sirens for Barbara and she finds that Barbara's not there and it's a gone-with-the-wind kind of step into this future of hers that we all know but she doesn't. She goes with it and this relationship forms where Tabitha teaches Selina hoot fight and how to basically escalate what she's already learned on her own. In episode 1 we learn that Barbara is alive. Selina wants to step up. You'll see in episode 1 where Selina isn't exactly where she expected to be with having Tabitha as her mentor. Selina believes that forming this relationship, mending this relationship with Barbara could actually elevate them and we'll see how that goes up and down throughout the season especially in the beginning part of it."

Selina Kyle is known for operating in a morally grey area, something that Bicondova has plenty to share about. "I've never seen her as an indecisive character. I've always seen her as a very decisive character. That concept of her walking between each line, I've never agreed with. I've always felt that she's definitely stuck with walking straight in the middle of the grey line. I hope she stays in that realm because sometimes it's fun to play a dark side but what I love about Selina is the fact that she doesn't like a label. She doesn't like being titled a hero, she doesn't like being titled a bad person. I hope she continues to stay on that path."

Bicondova is excited about all the new whip training she has and continues to do for this new facet of Selina's character journey and abilities. "It was so cool! I have a video on my phone that I've been waiting to share but I'm just waiting for the coolest moment ever to share it. For that scene in the finale, I only practiced for 45 minutes total that same day. I ended up getting some cracks and it was amazing but as far as filming, they don't allow you to actually use the whip itself because of liability issues and everything else. They just give you a nub. You have to know the technique so when you actually do it, visual effects can go in and add the whip itself."

True to form, Selina's journey will remain intertwined with Bruce Wayne. The two have had a falling out towards the end of season three so now viewers must tune in to see if they can mend their relationship. "They both truly love each other. It's just that his upbringing, not necessarily that their differences are what constrict them cause I think their differences actually bring them together more than they separate them, but I think his upbringing has made him a lot more judgmental than her upbringing is. His judgement has always been the backbone of their fallouts. I think it's interesting because there's a lot of fans that say, 'Oh Selina's so selfish! She only cares about herself' like Bruce said but I think it's the opposite. I think Bruce is the selfish one."

Bicondova is intrigued at the prospect of Selina getting to develop a taste for the finer things in life by forging this new relationship with Tabitha, though they haven't embarked on that characterisation just yet with the episodes of season four filmed thus far. "I think it would bring a different perspective to her for sure. But I don't think it would change her as much as being on the streets has changed Bruce. I think Selina has always desired that luxury of having the jewelry and having a place of her own, and not having to squat in these slums. It wouldn't change her as much as it would Bruce because she's always wanted it."

Mack makes peace with Rodriguez, assuring her there is nothing to forgive, and plans to make a life with her.

Robbie leaves with the Darkhold through a portal, having learned how to open the portal himself since he last saw the team. Fitz wants to take the blame for everything that has happened, still harboring the guilt for what happened in the Framework, but Daisy insists that they are all a team and they will get through everything together. She knows she lost herself when she went rouge and blamed herself for Lincoln's death. They stay together and wait for the government to arrive and punish them for what has happened. But a mysterious group arrives and takes them instead. Fast forward an unknown period of time and Coulson is shown to be working on a space station.
