"Marvel's Agent Carter" SDCC 2015 MuseLed Interviews

Following a successful first season that pleased both fans and critics alike, Marvel's Agent Carter was renewed for a second season. So it was only natural that the show's stars and crew members would pay a visit to San Diego Comic Con and tease what's to come for our favourite characters in season 2.

Hayley Atwell says that Peggy is now well aware of how resourceful she is and is more confident in who she is as a person and as a spy. So now that she has received some closure, she is in a better space to move on whether it be romantically or just professionally. Hayley Atwell and James D'Arcy don't know whether or not the new season will be set in California.

"I think we can all agree that Jarvis has earned his stripes and whilst he may not officially be an agent of the SSR, I think unofficially he should totally get a gun this season." ~ James D'Arcy

But D'Arcy jests over his belief that Jarvis would hate a move to California but perhaps Peggy would do well with it, as she looks so great in sunglasses and driving convertibles.

"I don't think Jarvis wants any sun at all. I think he's gonna have a spectacularly British reaction to the heat. [Peggy] looks good in sunglasses. I hope we get to drive convertibles this season!" ~ James D'Arcy

After the tease from Captain America: The Winter Soldier that Steve had saved Peggy's husband in the war, Hayley Atwell promises that she does not yet know who that is, though she wouldn't be able to tell us even if she did, but James D'Arcy once again delivers the jokes, saying that he absolutely knows who it is. Hayley says that the strong fan reaction to Peggy Carter has given her work more meaning and she is deeply humbled by it all, adding that she feels a sense of responsibility to develop her further so as to give the fans even more than what they expect. But James D'Arcy is ready with his joke-gun, saying that this time around, Peggy will wear a green hat.

"There's a sense of responsibility to move that forward and develop [Peggy] in a way that exceeds people's expectations. It's very much now not about sitting on my laurels and going, 'Okay well she's proved this and this so she can just look fabulous in a red hat now.' I think it's very much about how do we take that further and deeper and giving her stronger challenges now." ~ Hayley Atwell on how the positive fan feedback influences her approach to playing Peggy carter
"She'll look fabulous in a green hat now." James D'Arcy, chiming in with the jokes, per usual

Season 2 of Marvel's Agent Carter will air mid-season during the 2015-2016 TV season.

Marvel's Agent Carter S1E8 (S1 Finale) - "Valediction" Recap

Peggy, Thompson, and Sousa are brought in to investigate what happened at the cinema. Sousa is momentarily infected with the gas after discovering the canister and attacks Thompson but he is knocked out before he can do any significant damage.

Dottie and Ivchenko are on the run and get pulled over when Dottie misses a traffic light. She's able to charm her way out of it but kills the cop after he realises that her description matches that of a fugitive.

Sousa comes out of his gas-rage and is apologetic to Peggy for hitting her in the struggle. The SSR is discussing the gas when Howard Stark comes in with Jarvis. Everyone (minus Peggy) wants to arrest him but Howard's there to help. He knows that the gas that was used was the Midnight Oil, which was a failed experiment that was used to kill the Russian soldiers. Howard had developed it partially but his lab was raided by the enemy, who stole his work and manipulated it. Of the Russian soldiers, there was a man named Johann Fennhoff, the sole survivor who is now known as Ivchenko. This is his revenge mission.

The SSR puts out a false news bulletin about Howard getting exonerated, also adding a particular location Howard will be for a press conference. Howard has volunteered himself as bait. Ivchenko hears about it in the car radio. Peggy is worried about Howard, thinking he's being reckless, but he's determined to redeem himself for the wrongs he has done. The press conference happens and Fennhoff/Ivchenko orchestrates a scheme to capture Howard.

While Howard is being transported with Ivchenko driving, he tries to hit on Dottie, who scolds him for not remembering that they already had a fling six months earlier. Ivchenko is angry about losing his brother and comrades to Midnight Oil. The only reason Ivchenko survived is because he had a gas mask. He brainwashes Howard to distribute the Midnight Oil on Times Square from the air during V-3.

Peggy and Jarvis arrive at the hanger. Jarvis chases after Howard who is flying up into the air and Peggy must fight Dottie. Ivchenko gets away while the two fight but once the battle's all said and done, Dottie's the one who falls out a window. Ivchenko knocks out Thompson and tries to brainwash Sousa but Sousa's too clever and is able to defeat him by a simple pair of earplugs.

Peggy tries to talk Howard done on the radio but Howard is still trying to save Steve in his jumbled brain. Peggy pleads with him, and insists that Jarvis not take the shot to blow Howard out of the sky. Peggy is able to pull Howard out of his brainwashed state. Johann is gagged and arrested while Dottie has apparently gotten away.

Some politicians come in to commend Thompson for his good work and he doesn't bother to say that Peggy's the one that saved the city. Sousa is angry and wants to tell them what really happened but Peggy tells him that nobody else's opinion matters to her and he decides against it. Sousa then asks Peggy out for a drink and she says perhaps another time since she has plans. It looks as if something will happen though. We're still thinking that's Peggy's future husband and that cop Enver Gjokaj played was their grandson.

Peggy leaves the SSR office and brings Angie to meet with Jarvis at one of Howard's penthouses that he as left for them to live in free of charge. Angie leaves to call her mother and share the good news leaving Peggy and Jarvis alone. Jarvis says that he'd be honoured to help Peggy on any future missions she may embark on. He also tells her that Howard is trying to get his inventions back so he can destroy them since no one can be trusted. Jarvis also returns the vial of Steve's blood to Peggy. Later, Peggy goes and dumps the vial's contents into the river and says goodbye to Steve (BUT IT'S NOT REALLY GOODBYE ~ SHE JUST DOESN'T KNOW THAT YET).

Finally, we see a gagged Johann being brought into his prison where he meets his new cellmate, Arnim Zola, who gives him a pencil and paper so they may exchange ideas, adding that America is the land of opportunity. *whispers* Hail Hydra….

Marvel's Agent Carter S1E7 - "Snafu" Recap

Peggy's interrogation is underway. Sousa feels betrayed and Thompson seems certain there's more to the story then she's sharing. Jarvis comes to the SSR to say that Howard has signed a confession promising he'll surrender if Carter is released. But when he gets Peggy alone he is forced to admit that the confession is forged. Carter and Jarvis spot Ivchenko communicating in Morse code with Dottie. She knows that they'll only have 90 minutes before Leviathan descends upon them. She has no choice but to start giving a bit, even going so far as to show them Steve's blood. She tells them the truth about her own investigation.

Ivchenko hypnotises Dooley once he realises that the agency is closing in on him. He gets Dooley to lock Peggy and Jarvis into a room and then has him steal one of Stark's weapons from the SSR lab. It's a gas cylinder of sorts. Dottie gets to the SSR and gets in a fight with Sousa as well as other agents but of course gets out free with Ivchenko and the device. Peggy and Jarvis use the table they're handcuffed to to break the glass mirror of the room they're trapped in and it attracts the attention of Thompson. Peggy demands to know where Dooley is.

Dooley has gone home to mend fences with his family. He's ashamed of how he let Ivchenko get away with the weapon. He says that more than anything, he just wants to come home to his family. Unfortunately, it's all just a dream. He wakes in his office to Thompson banging on the glass. He's wearing a Stark experimental vest that Ivchenko put on him. There's no way to get the vest off of him and it will detonate. Peggy order scientists to be summoned to find the person Ivchenko was signalling to. Sousa heads up to the room where Dottie has been meeting. The dentist she murdered is still in there rotting away and Sousa finds the messages Dottie has been receiving, including the one for her to kill Carter.

There's no way to get Dooley out of the vest. He tells everyone to apologise to his wife and makes Peggy promise that they'll get the one who did this. Dooley then takes off running and jumps out a window. Immediately after, the vest detonates, killing him but saving everyone else.

Ivchenko and Dottie activate the device in a crowded cinema before leaving and locking everyone inside with it. The gas makes everyone grow raging mad and they begin to attack one another with the utmost violence. When an usher goes to check on the theatre, she finds that everyone inside is dead.

Marvel's Agent Carter airs on Tuesdays on ABC at 9PM.

Marvel's Agent Carter S1E6 - "A Sin to Err" Recap

Peggy firmly believes that following the discovery of the training centre in Russia, that a female Leviathan operative that was trained there was used to manipulate Stark and gain access to his weapons as well as kill Agent Krzeminski. Dooley signs off on her pursuing that lead, more so because he knows she's not going to let it go. Peggy tells Jarvis her theory and they'll now have the lengthy task of tracking down all the women Howard has been involved with in the last six months.

Sousa follows his lead of Peggy being the woman who made off with the weapons. She is identified as the one who did so by the driver of the bomb that is currently incarcerated. Peggy needs Jarvis to come in and re-see Howard's flings, which he is reluctant to do. But Peggy needs to see their wrists to see if they have scars from being cuffed to the bed. This results in Jarvis being slapped repeatedly, and even kicked in the shin by these various women.

Dr. Ivchenko is meeting with Dooley to apparently help out the investigation. Between their work, Dottie is shown to be holding a sniper rifle at Ivchenko but instead of killing him, she flicks a light on and off to send a message. He then sends one back by tapping out morse code at the open window. He needs more time to get "the item," and then tells her that her new directive is to kill Peggy. Also for anyone wondering, Peggy gets a new copy of her key from Angie.

Peggy and Jarvis visit the apartment of a woman named "Ida," but find that she is long gone. However, she has left scratches on the bedpost, leading Peggy to realise that the habit is hard for this operative to break.

Dr. Ivchenko lets Dooley know that it's not too late for him to save his family. He doesn't need to keep putting his work before his family. He then appears to be trying to hypnotise Dooley but they are interrupted by Sousa who pulls Dooley out to tell him about what he has learned regarding Peggy being a so-called "traitor."

Peggy realises she's about to get arrested, or at least that some men will try to, so she has Jarvis man the door while she fights them off. Thompson meets her outside and tries to get her to come in but she easily knocks him out. She then runs into Sousa who pleads with her not to run because then it will be true but he's unable to shoot her. Dooley orders the rest of the agents to track her down and it's priority number one. During the commotion, Dr. Ivchenko, who is of course a Leviathan agent if you didn't realise that already, hypnotises Agent Yauch and uses him to learn that only Dooley can access Stark's weapons. Yauch also shows him how to exit out of the SSR, and then commands him to leave like he would any other day, go out and order a bourbon, and then walk into traffic where he is killed by an oncoming truck.

Peggy is determined to get back to her apartment and retrieve Steve's blood. Peggy is able to do so but Thompson, Sousa, and the other agents are hot on her tail. Also Peggy's landlady is less than pleased about the hole Peggy knocked in her wall. Peggy must scale the outside of the building. Angie catches her but covers for her when the agents come knocking to question her. She's able to get a sly dig in about Peggy complaining about her male co-workers. Angie then starts crying and goes on about Peggy's sick grandmother and is able to make them all leave because they're typical macho men uncomfortable with emotions. Peggy thanks Angie and says goodbye to her but is knocked out by Dottie in the hallway with Peggy's own knock-out lipstick. Peggy is able to check Dottie's wrist and confirm she's the Leviathan operative before hitting the floor. Dottie's about to kill her but then Thompson and Sousa arrive and arrest Peggy, while Dottie feigns ignorance. Later that night, Angie goes to Dottie's apartment and finds it's been cleared out, while Peggy is brought in for an interrogation.

Marvel's Agent Carter airs on Tuesdays on ABC at 9PM.

Marvel's Agent Carter S1E5 - "The Iron Ceiling" Recap

Russia, 1937. There's a facility in which many young girls are handcuffed to their beds when they sleep. It's the training facility for all the little Black Widows. It's a dream of Dottie's, in which she was made to kill a young girl she had been friends with. After waking up, she trains in her room before meeting with Peggy. Peggy is somewhat distracted, still thinking about Jarvis and how cross she is with him. Dottie then swipes Peggy's key from her bag after "accidentally" knocking her bag over.

Jarvis approaches Peggy to try to apologise again, saying he had tried to make Howard tell her the truth. Peggy is still angry with Howard and Jarvis says that despite all of Howard's flaws he is still a good man. Jarvis says they need her help again, reminding her that all her male co-workers don't respect her, and Peggy simply replies that she will make him.

Peggy heads into work and learns that they have received an encoded message through Demidov's typewriter and everyone is trying to decode it. Peggy is able to decode it and determines that it is speaking about a purchase and giving coordinates. It's a message from Leviathan. Stark will apparently be selling weapons to Leviathan at a Soviet military complex. A team will be headed to Russia and Peggy insists on getting to come because she is the only one skilled enough to crack the code. Thompson, the sexist condescending pig, tries to say that she's not good enough to go. Dooley doesn't exactly want to send her but she's just too skilled to turn down, especially when she enlists the help of the Howling Commandos, whose reputation proceeds them.

Sousa accidentally sees Peggy in the locker room when she's changing and notices some distinct markings on her upper-right shoulder/back. He wishes her well and then she's off with Sousa and the rest of the team to Russia. Once the team lands on the ground, they meet the Howling Commandos and some of them don't exactly hide their enthusiasm at being alongside such legends.

Back at the SSR, Sousa re-examines the photos of the mysterious not-blonde and finds the same markings as Peggy had on her shoulder. He now knows that Peggy is the one who had apparently interfered with the SSR's investigation.

The Howling Commandos and the SSR team all sit around the fire and share war stories. Sousa shares some sob story about murdering Japanese soldiers that's supposed to make us feel more sympathetic towards him (I think?) but really, I'm just trying to not grind my teeth at him for being such a skeez. They later reach the complex and find that young girls are being trained there to infiltrate the US as sleeper agents. Unfortunately, it's a trap. One girl even kills the Commando Junior Juniper.

Dottie uses Peggie's key to sneak into her apartment and finds the photos of Stark's weapons in SSR custody. She also finds the photo of pre-serum Steve Rogers. She then checks herself out in the mirror, dons a British accent, says, "Hello, I'm Peggy Carter," then sniffs Peggy's lipstick before sneaking out and making sure the apartment is locked as she leaves.

Back at the complex, the team is attacked by Soviet soldiers. Thompson freezes up, but Peggy saves his ass and everyone else's really because she's Peggy Freaking Carter. She's able to get everyone out, including the imprisoned psychiatrist Dr. Ivchenko, with the help of Dugan's explosive tactics.

Back on the plane, Peggy tries to assure Thompson that everyone freezes up sometimes. He admits that the Japanese men he killed on Okinawa were carrying the white flag to surrender but he didn't know that until it was too late and now he's wracked with guilt, blah blah blah, and he buried the flag to hide his mistake. Well. If I'd have wanted to watch media content about white soldiers murdering Okinawans, I'd have just watched the news but okay, Agent Carter writers. Thanks for that one.

Finally, Dottie is shown to be handcuffing herself to her bed before going to sleep.

Dooley commends Peggy on a job well done when she returns to the office from the mission. Thompson tries to get Sousa to come out for a drink, which he politely declines. He then invites Peggy to come out with the team, and she accepts.

Marvel's Agent Carter airs on Tuesdays on ABC at 9PM.

Marvel's Agent Carter S1E4 - "The Blitzkrieg Button" Recap

On tonight's episode of Agent Carter, Howard Stark is back in town and Peggy and Jarvis must work to help him recover his stolen technology.

At Peggy's place of work, Dooley leaves Thompson in charge because he's flying off to Germany since he learns that Brannis and Demidov were supposed to have died during the Battle of Finow. Dooley wants to speak with the Nazi colonel who lead the opposing forces to get more information. Peggy is almost caught by her nosey landlady while trying to keep Howard Stark hidden. (Remember that men aren't allowed there).

Meanwhile, Agent Sousa tries to get a print off the phone used (by Jarvis) to anonymously call in the tip about the stolen weaponry. When he tries to get some information off some locals, one gets aggressive and despite his crutch, Sousa is easily able to take him down and arrest him. Though Thompson and the other agents are snide and rude about it, Sousa remains certain that the man had seen something when the night was called. In the end, Sousa is right but Thompson is the one that gets the man to admit that he saw a fancily dressed man and woman (not a blonde though, a brunette) by bribing him with a bottle of liquor and a burger.

After Peggy does some recon work with Howard's camera pen, Howard identifies an object she must retrieve because it's too dangerous to be left in the hands of the government. It's known as the Blitzkrieg Button, which can cause a permanent blackout that would span all of the city.

Dooley reaches Germany and is unable to learn just how Brannis and Demidov survived but he does learn that the Soviet forces had been massacred before the Nazis arrived.

Peggy is able to retrieve the Blitzkrieg Button but as she is suspicious, she opens it up and sees that there is a vial of blood. She quickly deduces that it's Steve Roger's blood. She also has an unpleasant encounter with Thompson who gives her a speech about how no man will ever see her as an equal because she is a woman. She returns to her apartment to confront Howard and punches him in the face for it.

The criminal who had helped smuggle Stark back into New York, but had been scammed out of his money by Carter and Jarvis, follows Carter back to the apartment but is delayed in his ability to get up to her apartment because of the landlady.

Peggy and Howard are in a fight about Steve's blood. He's apologetic for lying to her, but claims that he held onto the blood as something that could be used to help millions of people but Peggy is disgusted because she knows that a large reason for him to hold onto it was to prophet it for it. Peggy delivers a passionate speech about the goodness of Steve and how Howard's morally reprehensible actions have reminded her of her purpose and mission in life. She leaves but tells him to be gone by the time she returns.

The criminal sneaks up into the building through the vents and tries to break into Peggy's apartment and threatens Dottie at gunpoint when she catches him doing so. She then tells him she wants his automatic weapon and easily kills him in an artful display of fighting skills.

Peggy is still cross with Jarvis, though he had pointed and hinted to her about what she was to find. Jarvis scolds Howard for his continuous misbehaviour and says he is tired of apologising for him. Also, we're treated to a Stan Lee cameo where he asks to borrow the sports section of Howard's newspaper.

Sousa determines that perhaps the blonde from the nightclub wasn't actually blonde, and Dooley returns from Germany. Thompson shares his findings of Howard Stark having returned to New York. When Peggy returns to her apartment, she cranks up the tunes in order to knock a hole in her wall to hide Steve's blood, after which she covers the hole with a framed picture. Angie knocks on Dottie's door to ask her if she's coming to dinner, and Dottie is shown to be enjoying her newly acquired weapon. Finally, we see Dooley begin to receive a message on one of the office's machines.

Marvel's Agent Carter airs on Tuesdays on ABC at 9PM.

Marvel's Agent Carter S1E3 - "Time and Tide" Recap

While Peggy begins investigating the heart symbol that Leet Brannis had drawn in the dirt before he died, the SSR agents are doing an investigation of their own… into that license plate Krzeminski found in the refinery wreckage. They trace it to back as belonging to Howard Stark, after which Agent Thompson visits his home. Jarvis won't let him in, as Peggy is left hiding just around the corner since she had just been speaking with him. Jarvis claims that Stark's car was stolen but Agent Thompson brings him in for further questioning anyway.

Agent Thompson plays dirty during the interrogation. He claims that the report on the car being stolen has gone missing and then throws Jarvis' prior treason charge in his face. Jarvis it notably shaken by this but Peggy is able to slyly save Jarvis by "accidentally" producing the stolen car report. Jarvis is able to leave, but poor Peggy gets quite the earful from Chief Dooley for this "mistake."

At Peggy's apartment place, Angie tries to come over and chinwag for a bit but Peggy has to blow her off since she's on her way out to meet Jarvis for some spy work. A new woman named Dottie moves in next door to Peggy after one girl is caught having a male guest over and is thus evicted. What is this, the 1950's? Oh wait…

Peggy and Jarvis investigate the breach of Howard's vault by rappelling down the hole the thieves used to get in. Peggy and Jarvis follow the storm pipe, as Peggy believes the culprits may have used a high water line on a raft. Jarvis admits that he had broke some laws to help his Jewish wife Anna during WWII and Howard had helped Jarvis out of his predicament, though Anna doesn't know all about what he and Howard's working relationship is like.

The investigation leads them to a boat that has the same heart symbol on it that Leet Brannis drew. It's docked across from where the sewer lets out and upon boarding the boat, they find the rest of Howard's stolen goods. She also has to disarm a guard with a muscle contractor before knocking him out with a steel pipe. Peggy wants to bring everything in but Jarvis reminds her that she has no good explanation for this, which is a shame since she'd love to be able to make amends for her apparent mistake in the office earlier. So she has Jarvis call it in to Sousa who is working the night shift. (He has to use a hilariously ridiculous East Coast accent but it does the trick).

Sousa and Krzeminski head over to the boat to load everything up and more agents come swarming in. They also arrest the guard that Peggy had previously knocked out. Krzeminski is taking guard away but just as the guard is describing getting knocked out by an "English dame," a mystery man rolls up and shoots both men dead. The following morning, Peggy is shocked to learn of Krzeminski's death when she comes to work and it inspires her to reach out and make a human connection so she heads to the automat to apologise to Angie. When Peggy shares that one of her co-workers just died, Angie decides to clock out early to have some schnapps with Peggy.

Marvel's Agent Carter S1E2 - "Bridge and Tunnel" Recap

Peggy has to find a new apartment and ends up staying at one of Howard's empty homes. She also has to dispose of her watch to avoid being detected as being on scene of the explosion. The SSR arrests Miles Van Ert, the scientist who weaponised the Nitramine for Brannis after he runs when Peggy determines how to prove that he at the explosion. Van Ert provides a location but Peggy and Jarvis get there first and find Brannis along with a truck full of armed weapons. They are attacked by a man working for Leviathan. Carter fights him and gains the upper hand, but not before he mortally wounds Brannis. The truck is sent off a cliff and all the weapons explode. But before Brannis dies, he dies a symbol in the dirt.

SSR Agents Dooley, Thompson, and Sousa arrive on the scene afterwards and find the aftermath of it all. Brannis had drawn a symbol in the dirt before he died. There are also a set of woman's footprints as well as a hotel key. They're also trying to figure out the photos from the club that had the "blonde" (that was actually Peggy). However later, they find that the blonde was good at ducking the cameras and there isn't a single photo of her face shown. Jarvis patches up Peggy's wounds and warns her that she needs to start letting people in if she really hopes to succeed. Peggy ends up deciding to move in with Angie the waitress. Finally, we see Agent Krzemenski going through the remains of the Roxxon refinery. He discovers the license plate of Howard Stark's car that Howard had been driving (it had been blown off during the explosion).

Marvel's Agent Carter airs on Tuesdays on ABC at 9PM.

Marvel's Agent Carter S1E1 - "Now is Not the End" Recap

It's 1946 and Peggy Carter is living in New York. She is called back in to work for the S.S.R. who are currently investigating Howard Stark for allegedly selling weapons to the enemy. Peggy implores the SSR to see that Howard is not a traitor but for now, they refuse to listen. Some men later seemingly try to kidnap Peggy (she fends them off rather easily) but it turns out they're just minions of Howard Stark himself, who wants Peggy's help clearing his name. His formula for Molecular Nitramine is going to be sold but it's dangerous enough to destroy avenues with even just the smallest amount.

Peggy slyly snatches up the information about the club where the deal is sent to go down and dons a blonde wig and American accent as a disguise. When the buyer forces a kiss on Peggy, he's immediately knocked out from her tranquillising red lipstick. She breaks into the man's safe and finds that the formula has already been weaponised. She calls up Edwin Jarvis who warns her to handle the weapon with care and gives information on how to disarm it.

Peggy is able to get back home with the weapon and successfully disarm it in her bathtub. Unfortunately, an assassin tries to kill Peggy and ends up killing her friend Colleen instead. At least Peggy manages to fight him off and toss him out a window. Since Peggy can't exactly return this weapon to SSR, Jarvis puts her in touch with someone that can handle it instead. She shows the completed weapon to Dr. Anton Vanko and he deduces that it came from a Roxxon Oil refinery.

She heads to the refinery and encounters Leet Brannis, who warns her that "Leviathan" is coming. HE then throws a weapon to destroy the building and Peggy must run out and jump into Jarvis' car. He drives as fast as he can and is just barely able to outrun the explosion. Peggy and Jarvis stop and get out to look at the destruction once the explosion has settled and ponder the implications of what's to come since the weapon works.

Peggy tells Jarvis about "Leviathan" and he says he'll look through Jarvis' files. On her way out of the diner where she often meets with Jarvis, Peggy threatens a man who has been harassing Angie Martinelli, a waitress who had befriended Peggy. Finally, we see Jarvis call Howard to tell him that Peggy was an excellent choice for what's to come in the future.

Marvel's Agent Carter airs on Tuesdays on ABC at 9PM.

MARVEL’S AGENT CARTER: Pilot – SERIES PREMIERE
ABC presents its second action packed series from the creative minds at Marvel in “Marvel’s Agent Carter,” inspired by the feature films “Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” along with the short “Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter.”  The series premieres TUESDAY, JANUARY 6 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET).

Years before Agent Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team swore to protect those who cannot protect themselves from threats they cannot conceive, there was Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell, “Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier”), who pledged the same oath but lived in a different time when women weren’t recognized as being as smart or as tough as their male counterparts.

But no one should ever underestimate Peggy.

It's 1946 and peace has dealt Peggy a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy finds herself stuck doing administrative work when she would rather be back out in the field; putting her vast skills into play and taking down the bad guys. But she is also trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life, Steve Rogers – aka Captain America.

In the premiere episode, “Pilot,” when old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper, “Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger”) finds himself being framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons to anyone willing to pony up the cash, he contacts Peggy -- the only person he can trust -- to track down those responsible, dispose of the weapons and clear his name. He empowers his butler, Edwin Jarvis, to be at her beck and call when needed to help assist her as she investigates and tracks down those responsible for selling these weapons of mass destruction. If caught going on these secret missions for Stark, Peggy could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison – or worse.
