THE ANNUAL CELEBRATION WILL FEATURE A CALVALCADE OF BELOVED PERFORMERS FROM FILM AND TELEVISION

The Saturn Awards organization today announced exciting new show elements as well as who is expected to appear at the 45^th annual celebration taking place on Friday, the 13^th of September (6pm PT / 9pm ET).

The show format reboot is built specifically for the social media age with a number of unique interactive presentations and fandom firsts including: live “Fantasy Fight” panels where creators and stars argue who would win in mythic mash ups (such as Star Wars vs. Star Trek), fan influencers participating in the award presentation, a once in a lifetime performance from acclaimed musician Lindsey Stirling (11MM YouTube subscribers) and fan social media competitions to win two Lindsey signed violins live. 

Kevin Smith will reveal an exclusive, never before seen clip from his latest film Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. Smith wrote and directed the new film which will be released on October 15, 2019. 

The 2019 Saturn Awards will take place on Friday, the 13th of September at 6:00PM PT/9:00PM ET at the historic Avalon Theater in Hollywood and will be streamed globally on the Saturn YouTube Channel, the Saturn Awards website, and the Saturn Award app, available on iOS and Android. In true Deadpool style Ryan Reynolds just shared the highly-anticipated first official reveal of DEADPOOL, aka "The Merc with a Mouth". If fans were worried about the character in the hands of Ryan Reynolds or director Tim Miller, little nuggets like the one here are likely to do much to ease those worries.

For the beginning they've shown an understanding and devotion to Deadpool that was right out ignored during his appearance in the horrid X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The leaked trailer should have fostered a whole lot of good will. It was probably the first time that fans had a real hope that they would see a Deadpool movie worthy of the character.

STEVEN SODERBERGH’S HAYWIRE TO DEBUT AS “SECRET SCREENING” AT AFI FEST 2011 presented by Audi

LOS ANGELES, CA, November 6, 2011 – The American Film Institute (AFI) today announced that this year’s “Secret Screening” at AFI FEST presented by Audi will be the debut of Oscar winner Steven Soderbergh’s highly anticipated new film HAYWIRE, starring Channing Tatum, Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Michael Angarano, Antonio Banderas, Michael Douglas, Bill Paxton and introducing mixed martial arts (MMA) star Gina Carano in a demanding lead role that has her performing her own high-adrenaline stunts. AFI FEST will roll out the People’s Red Carpet prior to the screening on November 6 at 9:30 p.m. where all guests can walk the carpet and pose for photos.

A dynamic action-thriller, HAYWIRE tells the story of Mallory Kane, a highly trained operative who works for a government security contractor in the dirtiest, most dangerous corners of the world. After successfully freeing a Chinese journalist held hostage, she is double crossed and left for dead by someone close to her in her own agency. Suddenly the target of skilled assassins who know her every move, Mallory must find the truth in order to stay alive. Using her black-ops military training, she devises an ingenious – and dangerous – trap. But when things go haywire, Mallory realizes she’ll be killed in the blink of an eye unless she finds a way to turn the tables on her ruthless adversary.

HAYWIRE marks Steven Soderbergh’s 25th film. Relativity Media will release HAYWIRE in theaters January 20, 2012. Soderbergh’s most recent film, the thriller CONTAGION, was released in September 2011.
