The Big Bang Theory S7E6 - "The Romance Resonance" Recap

Howard asks the gang (minus Bernadette) to help him perform a song he is writing for Bernadette to celebrate the one year anniversary of their first date. Penny is made aware of the fact that she is not one for romantic gestures for Leonard and becomes determined to do something impressive.

Sheldon figures out a method for synthesising a new, stable superheavy element. He is praised by his friends, work colleagues, and the scientific community.

Penny continues to struggle with coming up with a romantic gesture for Leonard and tries to get advice from Raj on what to do.

Sheldon realises that he made a mistake in his calculations and that the element was found by luck. He feels like a fraud, despite Amy's and the other's attempts to reassure him. The continued praise serves only to irritate him. Later, Amy tells him that he doesn't deserve the credit and that she is embarrassed for him. He says that it's the most romantic thing he's ever heard.

Howard learns that there was an accident in Bernadette's lab and is now in the hospital under quarantine. He and the rest of the group go to the hospital and from outside the glass window, they sing the song he composed.

Penny present Leonard with a Top Ramen dinner, music, rose petals, and brings him to her bedroom. She presents him with a first edition of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and he is forced to remind her that he bought a first edition when they were at the used bookstore together. She pulls out a box of all the romantic gestures he has given her, upset that she can't match his romantic abilities. He is touched by the fact that she has kept everything.

The Big Bang Theory airs on Thursdays on CBS at 8PM.
