Monster High: 13 Wishes DVD Review
If you had 13 Wishes what would you wish for? Monster High hits dvd with an all new story called "13 Wishes," where our favorite monsters are tackling just that dilemma. As with every wish story, there's a dark side to the wishes, and a strong message to be careful what you wish for.
Howleen find's GG's bottle and at first heeds the genie's advice, that the wisher has to be selfless, or the dark genie gets stronger. She makes wishes that make her friends happy, and seeing her friends happy makes her happy, only her dear friend Twyla refuses to ask for anything. But soon she falls prey to the dark genie and wishes to be popular.
And from there her wishes quickly go downhill and become downright mean. All of Howleen's wishes made in good spirit cause her friends misery, and as her wishes change her more and more she pushes away the people that love her the most the shadow genie gains strength in her ultimate goal to become all powerful. Frankie and the gang have a plan to save the school and Howleen from the dark genie, if they can make it out of the Genie's Bottle. With friendship and teamwork there's nothing these ghouls can't do!
Like the last few Monster High movies the animation is the same, all computer generated, rather than the type of animation used when the series was just a bunch of short webisodes.
The girls wear many familiar outfits, but the new 13 Wishes ones really stand out, and look just as good in doll form. These will surely be a hot ticket item this year, I know they're on the top of one little girl's wish list in my house.
And if you pick your copy of "13 Wishes" at Walmart it comes with Monster High lunchbag! The story is fun, and interesting, and the moral though not a new one is still a great one and beautifully illustrated. And there's even a shout out to the Grimm Brothers. For Monster High fans this is definitely not one to be missed!
Special Features Include:
Shorts: Department of Monster Vehicles, Royal Pest Sitter, Cookie Creeper
Ever After High Sneak Peak
