The Big Bang Theory S7E4 - "The Raiders Minimization" Recap

Amy watches Raiders of the Lost Ark with Sheldon. Afterwards, she says it was very entertaining despite the glaring story problem. He doesn't believe that she can find something wrong with the story and dares her to do so. She points out that even if Indiana Jones had not been in the story, the Nazis still would have found the Ark, taken it to the island, and died, just like they did. Sheldon is shocked.

Penny buys The Disappointing Child (a book written by Leonard's mother about him) for her psychology class. Leonard is upset and pleads with her to not talk to him about it.

Sheldon begins reading Pride and Prejudice, wanting to ruin something Amy loves after she ruined Raiders of the Lost Ark. The other men are upset upon learning of the "glaring story problem."

Penny goes against Leonard's wishes and asks him questions about stories in it. He opens up, saying that he was angry about being part of his mother's experiments. She is apologetic and gives him sex to make him feel better.

Raj applies make-up to Stuart for his photo that he will be putting on his dating profile. Both of them are setting ones up in order to liven up their love lives.

Leonard continues to use sympathy regarding his mother to get Penny to do the activities he wants to do. Later, Howard catches Leonard and Penny having sex at his work and after she leaves, Howard is amazed to learn how sympathy gets Penny to do what Leonard wants. He tries to employ the same tactics on Bernadette but she is not moved. He is forced to admit how the sympathy tactics work when Leonard uses them on Penny.

Sheldon invites Amy to a date night in which they will watch and episode of the Little House on the Prairie. Upon watching it together, he begins pointing out historical inaccuracies on the show. Amy knows what he is doing and tells him he should tell her when he is angry instead of trying to get revenge. He shares his feelings and she apologises.

Raj and Stuart put up their dating profiles. They're able to see when someone is reading their profile, which is exciting at first, until none of them send messages even after two hours. They decide to go to a bar, where they are rejected by womyn in the flesh.

Leonard gets back to find Penny all done up in lingerie and makeup. She says she planned something special to make him feel better and as he begins to undo his trousers, she turns the laptop towards him to reveal his mother on Skye. Penny tells him Bernadette told her everything and heads back to her room. Leonard's mother tells him they are going to discuss why he is involving his mother in his sex life. She then tells him he walked in on her and his father having sex and asks him how it made him feel. Leonard is horrified to learn that that was not just a dream.

The men re-watch Raiders of the Lost Ark and are upset to find that they can not find a way out of the glaring story problem.

The Big Bang Theory airs on Thursdays on CBS at 8PM.
