Haven S4E9 - "William" Recap
Audrey was about to shoot Nathan but then she sees one of the henchmen from the barn in the room. She chases him out and Vince and Dave tell Nathan that Audrey cannot kill him. Audrey identifies both henchmen from the sketches of the suspects involved in attacking Haven citizen. Since these henchmen have escaped into the real world, all the rules have changed and Audrey killing Nathan will cause all kinds of havoc.
The henchmen kidnap Dwight and interrogate him about a box. Dwight manages to cause a scuffle and speed-dial Nathan. The call stays connected and Nathan and the others are able to listen in as Dwight gives them cryptic clues to help them track down his location. They bust in, free Dwight, and keep their guns pointed at the henchmen. They hear a noise and discover that they have another man captive: William.
Back at the station, William doesn't remember much. He doesn't know how he got there or who he is. Audrey promises to help him figure things out. While Dwight interrogates the little henchman, the man releases a black orb into Dwight's ear that makes him become highly paranoid. He imagines Duke wielding a knife while he is trying to figure out Jordan's disappearance. Duke advises Jennifer to question the big henchman to try to learn more about her origins and he infects her with the paranoia as well, also planting seeds of distrust towards Duke. Finally, the little one infects Nathan with the paranoia and sets him on the path of thinking that Audrey will fall in love with William.
Dwight is at Duke's boat searching for the knife with the broken point. Jennifer gets into an argument with Duke, believing he wants to put her in an asylum, and Nathan becomes hostile towards William because he thinks he and Audrey are having an affair. Audrey is offended by his behaviour and even slaps him. She knows something is wrong. She is summoned by the coroner, Gloria, who shows her new bodies. Each became highly paranoid leading up to death and found a black orb in each victim's brain. Audrey realises Nathan must be infected with one.
Duke arrives at his boat and finds Dwight fiddling with the broken-point knife. Dwight is becoming increasingly erratic. Duke brings him to where he buried Wade's body and tells him all of what happened. Duke can tell that Dwight is infected and tries to talk him down, but ends up on the receiving end of a taser.
Audrey touches William and they experience a small electric shock. He then regains his memories of the events from the barn. He says that he jumped from the Barn and landed on a hill above Haven with the box. He had left it up there before he was taken. The big henchman breaks out to go after the box.
Dwight brings Duke back to the station. Audrey tells him that Dwight, Nathan, and Jennifer are infected. They all have black orbs in their head. They end up in a stand-off and Audrey has to get all the officers to clear the building, claiming there's a gas leak. Audrey, William, and Duke are able to get the infected trio under control, locking them up to keep them from hurting others or themselves.
Audrey and William head to the hill to get the box while Duke stays behind as a guard. William finds the box and then reveals to Audrey that he always remembered everything, and not just from the barn. Audrey's first life was in a relationship with him and the spark between them was a sign that that version of her is still insider her. He presents Audrey with the box and she opens it to find a beautiful flower. The flower then turns into a pile of black orbs. The henchmen arrive and Audrey learns they were working for him the whole time.
The black orbs are then removed from the infected trio and float out and back to the field into the box. Dwight is willing to overlook Duke's crime, knowing it was for the greater good. William's entire plan is all about trying to get Audrey, or the first version of her, back. He's upset that she doesn't remember. He takes a ball and crushes it up so it covers his hand, showing Audrey that he was the one leaving marks on people and infecting them. He goes on an "I love you and you love me too" monologue and says that the real her is his. He touches her cheeks, causing a giant electric spark and she's knocked out. Audrey wakes to see Nathan above her, asking where William is and if she is okay.
Haven airs on Fridays on Syfy at 10PM.
