Beauty and the Beast S2E7 - "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" Recap
Reynolds calls Cat to invite her to Thanksgiving dinner at his place in Montauk. She politely turns it down, saying she already has plans with her boyfriend. Their relationship is still shaken up because of Vincent's ripping Windsor's heart from his chest. Tess also tells Cat that Gabe thinks Vincent's handler is plotting to kill him. He's not wrong, either; Reynolds is planning to blow him up.
Gabe finds that all his Muirfield files are gone from his computer. Cat tells him that they did the same thing to her when she was getting close. He must have also been getting close. Reynolds sends Vincent on a mission and when Vincent senses something is off, he throws a pipe into the building he was supposed to go in and it explodes. Reynolds hears the explosion and then Vincent hangs up, now reasonably suspicious of his handler.
The team decides to have Vincent call the handler back to try to decrypt the voice-modulation. Reynolds is panicking, telling one of his men that he needs to get the job done. Vincent loses his temper and rants to his handler that he will hunt him down. JT is able to find that it was the FBI that erased Gabe's files. Cat then decides to bring Vincent to Thanksgiving to feel things out and if Reynolds is determined to be trustworthy, they will get his help.
Leading up to dinner, Reynolds agrees to help them find this handler after giving Vincent a hard time about not having a job and possibly not being good enough for Cat. Gabe drives out with some files to help Reynolds find the handler and brings Tori after checking her out of the hospital after she drove her car into the Hudson River. When Tori arrives and shakes Vincent's hand to pretend like they don't know each other, it sparks Beast-ness in both of them. Vincent beasts out and nearly attacks Reynolds before running upstairs. Cat pleads with him to not expose Vincent, saying he saved Tori's life.
JT and Tess take a break form working to have some drinks and make out before being interrupted with a call from Gabe who is checking in to see if they've found anything.
Reynolds tells Vincent in private that it would be better for Cat if he disappeared. The group gathers round to have an awkward dinner. When Vincent and Tori clink glasses, Vincent has to excuse himself to keep from beasting out and Tori goes absolutely ham and flips the table. Cat and Reynolds get into a huge fight. Tori walks up and starts venting her feelings to Vincent and when he tries to console her, their strange connection kicks in and they end up making out. It's then that Catherine walks up and sees them. She storms off and Vincent follows after her. She tells him what Reynolds the points Vincent had made and Vincent breaks up with her, believing it to be in her best interest.
Tori is back at Reynold's place and has called a "driver" (the hitman who had set up the explosives for Vincent) to bring Tori back to the city. Meanwhile, Vincent and Tess find church bells in the background of the modulated call. Reynolds tells Vincent that the handler in the FBI is a man named Tucker (obviously a lie to cover his tracks). He points Vincent back in the direction of Tori, saying Tucker might be after her. He even offers Vincent his car keys so he can go after Tori.
Cat and Gabe prepare to leave Reynold's place. They've been clued in on the church bells and they exchange knowing looks when they're just out the door. Vincent has reached Tori's apartment and finds her bound to a chair and gagged. Vincent spots a bomb near the door and it promptly goes off.
Beauty and the Beast airs on Mondays on the CW at 8PM.
