Teen Wolf Panel at SDCC!
Although the
“Teen Wolf” Panel at Comic Con was far from capacity, the noise level certainly
wasn’t. Seriously, those fans can cheer. I’m pretty sure I lost a bit of
hearing during it, but it was certainly well worth it. The energy was high, and
Executive producer Jeff Davis joined stars Tyler Posey, Holland Roden, Dylan
O'Brien, Crystal Reed, Daniel Sharman, Tyler Houechlin and Charlie and Max
Carver were in attendance beaming at their fans.
Fans as well
as cast have a lot to be happy about. Season three premiered to very strong
numbers and Jeff Davis could not have been happier. “It was nice to introduce
the Alphas, our twins (the Carvers) here, but also bring back characters you
love, like Scott and Lydia.” But the season opener also up with an interesting
question, on that asked if a Bet could rise to an Alpha based on his strength
and character rather than being born to it. Even Posey liked the prospect,
adding "It's really cool to do another take on the Alpha mentality."
There were
plenty of compliments going around. Posey received a lot of love during this panel
as well as during the “Brave New Warriors” one. But Davis wasn’t so thrilled
about either Posey’s tattoo or his newfound love of motorcycles. "It's
also the number one source of organ donors," Davis joked.
The
attention turned from Scott and Posey to Lydia, and just exactly what she is. Roden
said, "I'm going to say she's the hatch from 'Lost' (Roden’s previous gig).
That's what I'm going with. With winning lottery numbers on the door." Davis
made a big promise that all would be revealed in episode nine.
Next we
moved onto Stiles, and whether or not he was a virgin. Good news, the virgin
sacrifices are over. Maybe better news, the virgin question for Stiles will
soon be answered. And from the screaming of the crowd, there are many
interested parties.
The next
episode will have a look into Derek’s past. Davis promised plenty of insight
into the Hale family, and we’ll find out why his eyes are blue not yellow.
Ethan and Danny's
relationship was another hot topic. "I love that these characters exist in
the same world," Charlie Carver explained. "Like, I like my guy and
I'm going to protect him, and Jeff's treated that very well. Davis added, "It's the idea that you can
change, Ethan and Aidan are changed by the people they're falling for. It's a
nice character arc to do, especially with the bad guys when they become
good."
The preview
clip shown caused the audience to scream throughout, but the loudest had to be
during Stiles and Lydia kiss, which neither Roden nor O’Brien was expecting
them to show. Apparently it was not in the reel they were shown previously, but
Roden worked the crowd. "These lips are for all of you girls!" Roden
said. "The kiss isn't just a kiss," Davis added. "It's also sex,"
Posey joked.
As the
season continues “all of the relationships get very complicated, and some may
end tragically," Davis teased.
