Legends of Tomorrow S04E04 "Wet Hot American Bummer" Review
The Legends are off to summer camp! It's 1995 and there's a swamp creature rumored to have been the kidnapper of several kids that have gone missing. Ava joins the Legends in the field this time around and the purpose of this is to give Sara and her the time to explore their bond further as well as Ava's insecurities about being a clone. Since her childhood memories are all false, as she was just a replica created of someone else, she doesn't know how to be a kid once Sara and her are tasked with taking Constantine's magic help to become children to aid their investigation. It's a touching and insightful exploration of both Ava as a character and the relationship between her and Sarah.
Another character featured more prominently this week is Charlie, who decides to join the team after striking up a rapport with Mick. It seems logical that of all the Legends, Mick would be the one to most easily connect with Charlie. They're both rough around the edges and the most willing to operate in morally grey areas. There's a shared theme of redemption to work with here and it will be intriguing to see how the writers further integrate her into the team's dynamic. There's also the lingering question of how Nate will react upon learning of her existence let alone her joining the team. Only time will tell how everything unfolds, particularly as Constantine has now been injured from helping kids and Nora Darhk is finally revealed to have taken up work at a Renaissance Fair.
"Legends of Tomorrow" airs on Mondays on the CW at 9/8c.
