Melodifestivalen 2018 Top 28: #26 "Icarus" — Emmi Christensson

Emmi Christensson's voting-heart may have been dead on-arrival but Sweden's televoters (the one who probably still own landlines) came through and saved her from a last-place finish. Placing sixth in the semi-final won't be enough for mainstream labels to want to help her out much since that result doesn't imply a light workload to get her artist-career going. But Emmi has far more to offer than just flawless vocals, as she's one of the few Disney princesses to come through the contest (she did the Swedish dub for Belle in the live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast).

Melodifestivalen may not have been the best place for an artist with her musical style to flourish but we have no doubt that Emmi is more than capable of staying busy and booking jobs, as she entered this show with an already impressive resume of having performed on the West End and on multiple Swedish television programs.
