New York, NY (September 12, 2014) MTV will air the special "Million Dollar Maze Runner" this Sunday, September 14 at 11:00 ET/PT. "Teen Wolf'" and "The Maze Runner" star Dylan O'Brien previously announced the competition during the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards broadcast.
Inspired by "The Maze Runner" a major motion picture and best-selling novel, "Million Dollar Maze Runner" puts four teams of "runners" inside an infamous abandoned prison to battle it out for one grand prize. In this half-hour special event, contestants are paired up to endure a series of physical and mental challenges that test their strength, logic and perseverance. The stakes are high, as only one team will escape the confines of the maze and claim their victory. With one million dollars and two brand new Scions up for grabs, it's an intense race to the finish to prove who is the ultimate "Maze Runner."
"The Maze Runner" movie hits theaters on Friday, September 19 and stars Dylan O'Brien, Will Poulter and Kaya Scodelario.
"The Million Dollar Maze Runner" special is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions and 20th Century Fox Entertainment. Jonathan Murray, Gil Golschein and Rick de Oliveira serve as Executive Producers.
