CULVER CITY, Calif. (June 2, 2014) – The music is pumping and the dance floor is moving when international dance sensation Derek Hough (TV’s “Dancing with the Stars”) teams up with BoA, the Queen of Korean Pop with more than 10 million records sold worldwide, in the “Romeo & Juliet” inspired dance film MAKE YOUR MOVE, available on Blu-ray™, DVD and Digital HD July 22from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Emmy Award® winning couple Napoleon and Tabitha D’umo (TV’s “So You Think You Can Dance”) choreographed the energetic dance numbers in this tale of a pair of star-crossed dancers in New York who find themselves at the center of a bitter rivalry between their brothers’ underground dance clubs. The film also stars Will Yun Lee (The Wolverine), Wesley Jonathan (TV’s “The Soul Man”), Izabella Miko (Save the Last Dance 2) and Dan Lauria (TV’s “The Wonder Years”).
Bonus materials include deleted scenes, as well as commentary with Writer/Director Duane Adler and Choreographers Napoleon and Tabitha D’umo. Also included is the featurette “Making the Moves,” taking fans onto the set of the film as the dancers and choreographers take the action from rehearsals to the big screen.
Synopsis:
The music is pumping, the dance floor is moving and Donny (Derek Hough) stops when he sees Aya (BoA) performing with her hip-hop Cobu crew on stage at Static, the hottest underground club in New York. They come from two different worlds, but they speak the same language - dance. Against all odds, they come together and show the world what they've got.
Written and directed by Duane Adler, MAKE YOUR MOVE was produced by Patricia Chun, Robert W. Cort, Eric Hetzel and Soo Man Lee, with Tony Blain, Nikki Semin Han, Daniel Jason Heffner, Young Min Kim, Sung Ho Lee, Miky Lee, Tae Sung Jeong and Mike Suh serving as executive producers.
