Gooding Jr. proves himself an explosive action hero in this suspenseful tale of an FBI agent investigating the murder of a businessman who led a secret double life. Emmanuelle Vaugier (Saw IV, TV’s “Two and a Half Men”) co-stars as the slain man’s widow, who teams up with Gooding Jr. to uncover an intricate web of deceit more shocking and more sinister than anyone could have imagined. Set against the backdrop of Australia’s stunning Gold Coast and shot on location there, ABSOLUTE DECEPTION is a scenic thrill ride packed with surprising twists and turns.
Directed by renowned Australian filmmaker Brian Trenchard-Smith (BMX Bandits, The Quest), the film co-stars Evert McQueen (TV’s “Terra Nova”), Ty Hungerford (Sleeper), Jeff Gannon (Suing the Devil) and Brad McMurray (The Horsemen). It was written by Kraig Wenman, based on a story by Jeffrey Schenck & Peter Sullivan, and produced by Dale G. Bradley, Grant Bradley and Kirk Shaw.
Synopsis: When FBI Agent John Nelson’s (Gooding Jr.) key informant, Miles, is abducted and shot, all that’s left is a severed finger. In order to find a new lead, Nelson travels to New York City to inform widowed magazine reporter Rebecca Scott (Vaugier) that her long dead husband, Miles, had only recently been murdered to see if she had heard from him in recent years. Perplexed, Scott joins Agent Nelson in the wealthy enclave of Australia’s Gold Coast to find out what really happened. The two soon discover Miles may have been part of an elaborate “Ponzi scheme” to bilk investors, and a vengeful billionaire, out of millions of dollars. As more layers of Miles’ secret life are exposed, can the two stay ahead of the mysterious attackers who will stop at nothing to halt their investigation?
ABSOLUTE DECEPTION has a run time of approximately 92 minutes and has been rated R for Some Violence.
