The Legendary Neal Adams made a pit stop in Sacramento yesterday to sign some stuff at one of the local A-1 Comics. If you're not familiar with the name, Neal is one of DC's legendary artists. In fact his children are pretty phenomenal artists themselves as well. Alas, none of his sons were with him, there was only Neal to delight the crowd, and delight he did.

He spoke to the crowd gathered before is signing about a little property called Batman. Some of the best Batman arcs ever created had Neal's hands all over them. He and Dennis O'Neil  helped put the dark brooding nature back into Batman, which I personally love about Bats. And if you've never read a batman comic, but only saw the movies, they were also was responsible for the creation of Ra's al Ghul. 

He touched on this a bit talking about what he liked about the movies his comic series inspired, and also about how Green Lantern took none of their inspiration from him, even though he had plenty to do with Green Lantern over the years and look at what a disaster that movie was. I have to whole heartedly agree with his assessment, I adore Ryan Reynolds, even thought he was great int he title role, but there was no saving that script.

Neal took his time with everyone who came out to see him, answering questions, signing and even singing to my little one. She's a huge Batman fan, and she really wanted to ask him a question, but the moment she got up to him she was too scared to ask him anything. Neal told her "Do you know what I do when I'm scared? I sing a song." And then he proceeded to sing "I've got no strings" from Pinnochio. I wish I had been ready for that one, but alas there's no video.

But she did muster up the courage with her uncle to go and take a picture with Neal. Neal has always been entertaining to meet in person. I met him back in 2010 and he was delightful then. If you live in or around Sacramento and you would like to meet Neal yourself, you're in luck. He's coming back in March for Wizard World. Get your tickets now, it's sure to be a packed house. It’s that time again, that sad, sad time, the Comic Con wrap up. It’s been an exhaustive few days, but the con has come to a closed, but not without one last surprise. Saturday is normally movie day, when all the big movies do their panels and signing, but one movie still had even more up its sleeve besides its big villainous “Say My Name” attraction.

That’s right, Thor had its big signing on Sunday. Sunday morning was the normal hustle and bustle, but there was a signing not on the schedule, one that was scheduled to take place the day before. Sunday was the last chance to grab the elusive Monster High Doll I was after, and yet somehow I was led to the Marvel booth, literally shuffled into a small line that was drawing cards on the stage. I drew a Thor card, and the guy took it and handed me a slip of paper, telling me congratulations, and to come back later.

Still, what I had in my hand did not dawn on me. For one, it was labeled Saturday, and for two, when I finally tracked down a schedule for that signing the only person on it was Thor: The Dark World director, Alan Taylor. I’m a fan of Mr. Taylor’s and all, but it certainly did not sound like as exciting as some of the other signings that we had attended, but I was still game.

The last day is the perfect time to check out the toys on display, and they displays in general. It’s the time to grab those last few t-shirts you’ve been eyeing, and apparently to finally meet the God of Mischief.

When Tom Hiddleston was announced with Alan Taylor there was a great roar from the crowd. Marvel does their signings up on a stage, with a screen streaming up close shots of the participants. They want the fans to be able to see everything, and enjoy it.  But Mr. Hiddleston has a way of making the crowd go wild. So every cheeky smile, every little moment he paused to dance made them lose their collective minds. Hiddles loves his fans, and he showed off a lot of the artwork that was brought to him.

One girl that wasn’t lucky enough to get a signing ticket first offered money, and when that was refused asked if I could get him to write “Bad Wolf” on a piece of paper for her to be tattooed later. While I’m familiar with the Doctor Who term, I wasn’t sure what relation it had to Hiddleston, as I didn’t recall him ever being on the show. She proceeded to go into the Doctor Who part, and said she was planning to have it tattooed anyways, so it would be neat to have it in Hiddleston’s hand writing. Fair enough.

Hiddleston is very sweet and charming, which I was expecting. I was not expecting him to be so stunning close up. And when he looked at me with those big blue green eyes and said “Wow, you’re very pretty.” I nearly fell off the stage. I stammered a thank you and asked him if he could write out Bad Wolf for me. He quirked an eyebrow, and I told him it wasn’t for me, and gave him a quick explanation about the girl in the crowd. He wrote it, first very sloppily, before writing it again. He held it up, and I could hear the girl screaming loudly, very loudly. So Hiddles flung it into the crowd towards her. It didn’t go to her, and he apologized, saying “I don’t think I should have done that.” I agreed, and so did security, since they took me off the stage away from the crowd.

With the Thor signing done, and the con really done for me, there was one last thing to do, say goodbye to Nerd HQ. Normally I’m at Nerd HQ several times during the convention. This year I hadn’t had a chance to make it over even once.  Sunday as Comic con is wrapping up is not the best time to check out Nerd HQ, but its all I had. Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion were hanging around taking pictures, so it was nice to see them. But it was closing time. The solar system was heading out, the convention was done. Bags were packed and planes needed to be caught, so off I went, but not before I was almost run over by Chris Hardwick on a razor scooter. We took a quick picture and I bid San Diego adieu. It’s been a great convention, until next year.

Legendary is one of my favorite stops during Comic Con, they put out some pretty fantastic movies. Not only did have the costume displays from Pacific Rim, which happened to be one of my favorite summer movies, they also had one for Seventh Son.

I’d just recently seen a teaser for it, and I was hooked. And the fact that they were bringing Jeff Bridges alone made it a not to be missed signing. I got lucky and got my signing ticket on preview night, but I could not wait for it to start. Legendary is very efficient with their signings, and surprise surprise the people working the lines actually know what they’re doing and what’s going on.

Director Sergei Bodrov and stars Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes, Antje Traue and Kit Harington were on hand to sign autographs for their adaptation of the book The Spook's Apprentice by Joseph Delaney.

The cast were signing small 5x7 postcards of themselves from the movie. These are beautiful. Sergei Bodrov of course does not have his own, but let me choose one. After some deliberation I got had him sign the Ben Barnes on, with the plan to have everyone sign that one. He was very nice and pleased to hear that I thought his movie was visually stunning and I was very excited to see it.

Jeff Bridges was his normal down to earth self. The funny part about seeing Jeff was the reaction of the person with me. I took one of our photographers, Brad, with me, and although he heard myself and  another of our blog members talking about this signing, he said that it just didn’t click until he was in front of Jeff Bridges. He fairly gushed in front of Jeff, and could barely form words.

Next up was Ben Barnes, who was dashing and funny. Kit Harrington was fairly quiet, and Antje Traue was absolutely stunning. And here is where the story gets embarrassing.

The girl behind Brad had a sign that said “Here for Kit,” and the one with Jeff Bridges was taking way too long leaving Ben all alone. Ben joked that he didn’t have any “Here for Ben” fans, so I interjected that I was here for him, which Kit gave me a shocked face. I told him I was there for him the day with the Game of Thrones stuff, and so it was only fair to be here for Ben today, which he replied with a “I suppose so.”

I asked Ben if I could take a picture with him, which is technically a no-no, but Ben was happy to comply telling me to “Get in here.” I leaned across the table and didn’t take into account they had drinking glasses there, and well, my boob went into his glass. Yes you read that right. And shocked I said “Oh my god my boob went in your cup.” Laughing he said “I can’t believe you just said that,” but I pointed out that it had gone into his cup. He said it was the best con momento that he’d ever gotten, and gave me a hug for it. Hey, one semi wet tank top is no big deal when you get a hug from Prince Caspian right?

In shame, I moved onto Kit asking for a picture as well. He said “I guess I can do that even though you’re not here for me today.” I move Kit’s cup aside, so as to not repeat history, lean in for a picture, and Ben says “And now your breasts have cupped my bottle.” Yeah, so the embarrassment just keeps coming. Ben is delighted, I’m red faced and I ask him “ Are there any other articles you’d like me to molester while I’m here.” He says “I could find a few things.”

I get a quick picture from Antje, being extra careful to not put my breasts on any of her things before I leave the booth with my head down in shame.

Apparently you can’t take me places where Ben Barnes is. And apparently I make an impression. I saw Jeff Bridges later in the day and he remarked that he was glad to see “I’d dried out.” Yeah, me too.

New York, NY (July 10, 2013) – The highly-anticipated return of “Teen Wolf” at 2013 Comic-Con International for the fourth consecutive year is just days away and cast members Tyler Posey, Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, Crystal Reed, Holland Roden, Daniel Sharman, Max Carver, Charlie Carver and Executive Producer Jeff Davis are taking Comic-Con by storm again.  During the panel that will take place in Ballroom 20 on Thursday, July 18 from 6:00-7:00 p.m., fans will get an exclusive first-look at an all-new trailer, along with the latest scoop from season three during the Q&A session. Jarett Wieselman, Editorial Director of ET Online, will moderate the panel.  “Teen Wolf” airs Monday nights at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

 

The cast, plus Jeff Davis, will be signing “Teen Wolf” posters at the FOX Booth (#4229) on Friday from 11:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m.  Fans can catch up on seasons one and two of “Teen Wolf” by purchasing the DVD box sets, currently available for purchase in stores and via the FOX Booth at Comic-Con.
