Zach plays around with a camera, but Eph stops him from looking at the UV lights for his protection. Abraham wonders if its a good idea, Fet isn't sure, but they're about to try. It's kind of a fail. Fet and Eph brainstorm how to get the UV lights to last longer. Fet jokes about creating a UV rave for the Strgoi, but Eph doesn't find it so funny. Someone remove the stick that has implanted itself in his behind. They can't test anything else, for fear of losing more UV lamps. They'll have to test things in the field and hope for the best, which is right up Abraham's alley.

Nora's mom, Mariela tears up Abraham's kitchen looking for an ashtray. She can't remember that its not her house, or that Nora broke it years ago. Abraham gives her one of his ashtrays, and Mariela tells her daughter that she doesn't like Abraham. Nora explains to her mother that they're guests, and apologizes to Abraham, that she's wrong about him, but Abraham doesn't think she is. The ashtray she was looking for is from the hotel where Mariela first went on a date with Nora's father, Zach points out that its good she remembers that.

Gus returns home, but finds no one opening the door for him. The door is unlocked, and the apartment is smelly. The fridge door is open, and Gus finds his brother staring at the soccer game on TV. His brother is infected, and Gus doesn't hesitate to decimate him with a baseball bat. Afterwards he's broken u about it.

Eph looks at a machete. First do no harm is a vow he took, Nora reminds him that things have changed. Eph isn't so sure they have. In years past, a plague or curse would roll through, and people would be unable to stop it until someone like them came through and found the root cause. Eph isn't sure he believes that destroying the master will end everything, but he has too, otherwise he could leave Zach an orphan or worse. He thinks one of them should stay behind, but Nora refuses. She will not stay. There is no plan B, not for Abraham,  not for Fet because they have no one else to think about but themselves. Nora doesn't see an alternative.

Fet readies the truck. Abraham gives Nora a knife. Zach worries about when they will return, he wants to come with them. Eph knows the safest place for them is in Abraham's basement, its a fortress. He puts Zach in charge, before locking the front gates and heading out. Zach listens to some of Abraham's records when Mariel comes asking about her ashtray, he tells her he doesn't have it, but Nora can help her when she comes back. That appeases her for a moment, but as Zach looks at some weapons Mariela asks about her cigarettes. He uses the Nora will help you when she gets back line again.

Chaos is in the streets. Looks like some people have taken the epidemic disaster and used it for a reason for a shopping spree. The master is counting on the looting and chaos to further his plans.

Gus tries to reach his mother with no luck. He tries her at work, telling them that its an emergency,  but she isn't there. Gus hears a thump, and goes to investigate the sound coming from the bedroom closet, prepared for the worse. His mother is in there, and she's sleeping, but clearly infected. Gus cries over seeing his beloved mother in that state.

Zach does some reading in Abraham's crazy books. He hears Mariels crying outside, and goes to check on her. She's crying because they're locked in. She wants the keys to get out, thinking that Nora is in danger. Zach tells her that Nora is in no danger, that she went on her own and will be back. She continues to cry begging for release. Zach asks her if he goes and gets her cigarettes if she'll go downstairs and wait for him. Suddenly calmed she goes inside.

Abraham, Eph, Fet and Nora descend the steps of the subways, down to the strigoi lair. Its dark, dank and smelly like a snake's lair. Fet leads the way, cautioning them to steer clear of the track. Eph stumbles across a wallet, and they begin seeing all of the  articles that defined the people that are likely now changed. Most tragically there's a stuffed bunny among the belongings.

Zach locks up the shop tight, with Mariela inside, before he heads out on his cigarette run. The streets are full of crying people, cars left open. A girls asks if his phone works, and he tells her that it doesn't keeping his head down, and his pace fast.

The foursome hears noises up ahead in the tunnels, they come across a large group of them. They're nesting during the daylight house. Fet thinks that they should kill them while they have the chance, but Abraham doesn't think announcing their presence to the master is a good idea. They turn off their UV lights, and tread lightly through the crowd. Eph thinks he spots Kelly, but it isn't her, and they have to keep moving.

Gus's mother rises. He feels guilt over not being there for his mother, but he doesn't destroy her. He drops the bat and leaves the apartment. Taking an axe off the wall, he prepares for what's ahead. He runs into the landlord, and has no problem chopping his head off, and letting it roll down the stairs.

Fet talks about the tube history, when Eph stops him, he hears something. Fet reasons that they've been hearing that noise the entire time. Eph thinks its different, but Fet says that when a train comes they'll know. The Ground begins to shake, a train is definitely coming. They get against a wall to safety just in the nick of time. Eph gives Fet a hard time about not listening to them. The two engage in a verbal pissing contest before Abraham puts an end to it. They come across a strigoi, but again Abraham cautions them not to attack unless they have to. The creature fries itself.

Zach made it to the store. He checks to make sure the clerk is dead dead before spotting the cigarettes. A couple comes in and Zach goes to hide. He crawls down a hatch, and finds a strigoi. As he tries to inch back up the ramp he drops his moms phone, and has to retrieve it. The strigoi is gone, and Zach scurries back through the door. He runs right into the young male, and the guy notices someone else is there. When he goes to investigate she gets him, and of course his girlfriend rushes into help and finds herself killed as well. Zach runs back towards the front, and runs headlong into Gus, who hears the strigoi attacking the couple. He sends the boy off, as he goes to take care of the problem, axe in hand. Zach grabs the cigarettes and makes a run for the door.

They continue down the tunnel, neon blood, and strigoi noises lead them to a dead end. Eph discovers a hole, just small enough to crawl though. It's either a trap, or the way they all went. Armed with a UV light and machete Eph crawls through. He yells an all clear, but before any of the others can begin the crawl the strigoi awaken and close in. Abraham takes to the tunnel, he calls to Eph for help, but Eph hears Kelly's voice pleading to him for help, and he goes towards the sound. Nora and Fet hear Abraham's call, and Fet knows the light won't hold them for long. He sends Nora into the tunnel and faces down the strigoi alone. Nora makes it through quickly, and Fet tries to do the same, but he's a bigger man and has a harder time. A strigoi closes in from behind as Fet pushes through. He and Nora kill the tunnel strigoi, but Eph and Abraham are no where to be found.

Eph follows the sound of Kelly's voice to the box. He opens it up but she's not inside. Strigoi surround him, and he yells at them for Kelly. The master drops down onto Eph, and disarms him quickly. He warns him that he has taken everything from Abraham and he will do the same to him. Before he can hit Eph with a throat stinger, Abraham arrives, sword drawn. The master disables him with some sonic screeching and turns his focus back on Eph. Fet and Nora arrive, throwing Fet's light ball into action. The strobe lights take out the younger strigoi, but the Master is able to get away.

Zach returns home to find Mariela, zoned out for a moment. She's happy to see him back and with her cigarettes. It brings tears to her eyes. She watches as Zach practices his knife skills, which brings on different kinds of tears.

The master was lost, they had him, and he got away, but the light ball worked. Eph tells them that he heard Kelly's voice, she was calling out to him. Fet berates Eph for running off, they were chasing him instead of hunting the master. Abraham is pissed that Fet wasted the light ball. He takes his anger out on the beautiful box that he carved by hand. Abraham rushes off in the direction the master went, with the others following. They find another dead end. Eph wants to stop and regroup, but Abraham wants to forge ahead. With the UV light they can see where the master went. They stop Abraham from rushing headlong into the larger nest, its far too big for them to run through.


The Strain is on Sundays at 10PM ET/PT on FX.

In Harlem, Zach looks around Abraham's shop. He finds an old computer, but it doesn't do him much good with no wifi. He sneaks into another room of the house, and gets the computer up and running, for only a moment to track his mother's phone. Her phone is moving, and he alerts Eph. The internet is super slow, but he figures if she's moving she has to be okay. Zach calls his mom, but she doesn't answer. He hopes its just on silence, and as he wonders why she hasn't called back, Eph doesn't tell the boy his fear. The internet connection is lost, but Eph is off to retrieve her.

The president declares a bank holiday to try to stabilize the economy, and Eph tells Nora of Zach's findings. She's still giving him a bit of the cold shoulder. Eph admits that he didn't try to hurt her with his words last night, and that he knows that she's only trying to prepare him, but he has to go after Kelly. Abraham agrees that he needs to prepare for the worst. 

Fet has tracked the rat activity in the city. Fet thinks that attacking the thing head on may be a kamikaze move. Planning would be much easier if the internet were up. Dutch apologizes and confesses her hand in the downfall of the internet. She never wanted to hurt people, and wants to fix things, but its tricky, they would need to go into the Heart Group building to do it. Fet is up for the challenge. 

Eph walks the streets towards Kelly's last location. He finds his wife's phone, but no Kelly. A homeless woman has it, and Eph asks her to take him to where she found it. She's hesitant, and slightly hostile, thinking him a cop, but when he tells her that he's a doctor she shows him a bad burn on her leg. Eph tends the wound, and then she takes him to where she foudn the phone. Eph finds Kelly's car, and there's blood inside.

32 hours earlier. In Kelly's home, a Strigoi Matt shuffles in on a sleeping Kelly, but he leaves her be. His closing the door awakens her. Kelly knocks on the bathroom door, but Matt doesn't open it. Kelly tries to open the door, thinking Matt is just being childish, but he won't budge. Kelly heads off to work.

In her classroom, one of the other teachers is surprised to see her. Half of the kids and staff are missing, most didn't even call in. This raises red flags for Kelly, and she tells her that Eph warned her about something in conjunction to the dead plane. She plans to get Zach and leave, and suggests that she does the same.

Kelly returns home, calling for Matt, telling him that everyone is sick and Eph was right. Still no answer. Matt comes in and Kelly sees just how sick he looks. The pair fight, and Kelly gouges him with a blender blade. Matt's milky blood gets on her, but worse one of his parasitic worms lands on her face, and crawls into her eye. Kelly manages to get away into the sunlight, and her car, but its too late, shes infected.

Away from the scene Kelly tries to check the damage. Her eye looks like hell, and she's shaky. She cleans herself up, which is the bloody handkerchief Eph found, and has a little breakdown. Exhausted she falls asleep behind the wheel. As nights falls she awakens feeling sick. She tries to make a call, but the illness overtakes her and she drops her phone as she stumbles out of her car. Kelly heads to Zach's school, no one is there except the principal. Kelly looks like hell, as she asks for Zach. The principal tells her hat they dismissed early, and when they couldn't reach her Diane took Zach. The principal thinks that Kelly has been in a car accident, and possibly has a concussion, she calls for help, but Kelly runs out of the building. On the playground there's strigoi, but they don't attack Kelly. Kelly spots one, and follows it. She sees it take a victim. Is it too much to hope that she turns into one of the other strigoi that is creepy but kinda human that hunts the bad ones?

Dutch and Fet take off in the bread truck. They make small talk getting to know each other a little better. Dutch doesn't want to open up, saying you get what you see,  but Fet doesn't buy it. He wants to know how Dutch plans on making it through the front door, knowing being hot isn't going to be enough. 

Fet uses his badge to get through the receptioist at the StoneHeart Group. He sweet talks her, and makes it into the elevator, but they're stopped by security. Security takes Dutch and Fet into custody. They know exactly who Dutch is, Eldritch's man remembers her and has the pair searched. Fet's gun is taken, and Dutch is taken to see Eldritch alone.

Eph goes back to the house looking for Kelly. 

17 hours earlier. Kelly heads over to Diane's. Kelly looks awful, but Diane lets her friend in. She tells her that Matt did this, and Diane wants to get Kelly to  a hospital. Kelly worries over where Zach is, but he's with Eph. Diane's son comes down to see what all the commotion is about, and Kelly throws her stinger at him. Diane leaps onto her friend's back to save her child, and ends up as Kelly's meal instead.

Dutch is roughly taken to see Eldritch. She's not so cocky now. The man asks why she would ever come back. Dutch isn't one to be taken for a ride, and now knowing that Eldritch is behind all the madness, she's come to stop it. He warns her that if she tries to hurt Eldritch he'll kill  her. Eldritch dines, finding audacity in Dutch's plan to storm his castle. He lied to her, but by omisson only. He congradulates her for her part. He's about to achieve the ultimate hack when he transcends humanity, and takes up his strigoi mantle. He can spills his plans because no one would believe her anyways. Dutch loses it, hits Eldritch and is manhandled out.

15 hours ago. Kelly walks the streets. She can hear the heart beats of passerbys, and see the blood flowing in her veins. Something calls to her below ground, and Kelly heads down into the subway tunnels. It calls her, luring her down, and when she comes upon the master he tells her to rejoice.

Dutch and Fet  walk their green mile. Dutch is a little angry over their failed plan, and tells him that next time it'll be different. Going in guns blazing wasn't a better plan. The assistant stops the pair, he isn't going to kill them, his employer is just misguided. He tells them to go while they have the chance, and run they do.

Eph continues to look for Kelly. He heads over to Diane's house, things look off there. He finds a broken picture frame, the one Kelly dropped. Eph heads down to the basement. No one ever finds anything good down int he basement, but he searches it. An infected Diane is lying down next to her infected little boy. She rises to attack Eph, but he shoots her, and then is forced to do the same to the child when he awakens. In Diane's hand is Kelly's necklace, and Eph breaks down. 

Somber, Eph returns to the shop. Nora was worried. Fet and Dutch return as well, but Eph isn't welcoming her in.. Dutch would rather leave than to stay where she's not welcome. Zach asks about his mother, and Eph takes him back upstairs to deliver the news. He didn't find Kelly, but he found her phone. He tells his son that he's not giving up on her. He doesn't mention his other dire findings. 

Zach relives happier times, watching home videos on his mother's phone. She's gone, and the happy times are too.

Zach gets dropped off at home by Diane, who tells him to have Kelly call her. She's left her a lot of messages, all not returned. She's worried, with the cops and everything. The lights are all off in the house, and Diane asks if he's sure at least Matt is home, Zach is, and he heads into the house. Eph and the group arrive at the house. Inside the house is trashed, and an infected Matt goes after Zach. Zach manages to evade him as Eph arrives. Eph kills Zach, but Kelly is no where to be found. I never liked Matt, but I almost feel bad for him, almost, but not really.

Abraham wishes to search the house. Eph shows him the door, but makes it clear that if Kelly is there, nothing happens with his son in the house. Abraham goes down, Fet goes up, Dutch looks for food. Zach hasn't seen his mom since the morning when she fought with Matt. Abraham declares that the house is empty. Abraham tells him that if Kelly is infected she will come after Zach, and they should leave quickly, but first they need to torch Matt's body.

Felix is getting worse in lockup. No one is listening to Gus as complains. The Bailiff tells him that many are sick, and Felix's best bet would be to finish his processing, where every inmate gets to be checked out by the doctor.

Zach is a little impressed that his dad escaped the FBI, and Eph glosses over a lot, without lying, giving his son enough information to get moving. He packs him up some items and prepares to send him with Abraham to his pawn shop while Eph cleans up the place. Not exactly a lie, but certainly hedging the truth.

Fet digs around the fridge. Nora is still in shock over Jim. Abraham reiterates that there is no hope once you're infected. It's an immediate game over. The hacker, Dutch agrees, but her opinion isn't welcomed. Nora tells Fet that if someone was going to help him die it should have been her, but Fet points out that she wasn't ready. They prepare to arm up at the shop for the next battle.

Past. Abraham digs a giant hole, maybe grave, with the other men while Eichorst watches.

Fet introduces himself to Zach, and they all prepare to leave. Dutch hesitates, and offers an apology before leaving. Eph watches Zach leave, only Nora remains with him.

Fet and Abraham drop off Dutch. Fet walks her up to her flat. Dutch is hoping that Ricki made it back, and she finds that something is missing. Ricki stole all her cash, and worse her laptop. Dutch has a bit of a breakdown.

Abraham asks Zach to come sit up front with him, but ultimately goes to the back to him. Zach thinks that his mom is going to be upset over what his dad did to Matt. Abraham explains that Matt went after him because he loved him, and that he wasn't angry with him, but rather hungry. Matt was like a dog with rabies, he couldn't control his actions.

Past. Abraham runs below, hiding a knife in his sock. Eichorst finds him below, thinking it has something to do with the box and its magnificence. Dust flies, bombs are being dropped above. Abraham asks what will happen to them, for now they will join the others, but its clear Eichorst has something bigger planned.

Fet tells Dutch to get her shit together. Her neighbor Ronnie stumbles in, and Dutch thinks he's just come to the wrong apartment by accident, its happened before, but Ronnie is infected. Fet moves quickly as Ronnie goes after Dutch, killing him with a hammer. The apartment is infected, Dutch can't stay.

Abraham has his sword drawn, waiting. Fet and Dutch return to the truck. Lucky for them, Fet took the keys or Abraham would have left without them. At the pawn shop, Nora's mother isn't exactly pleased that he left her for so long, or that he's brought new people. They all head down to Abraham's batcave. Abraham gives Zach a large tome to read and get educated on the stigoi. As Abraham talks about the type of people drawn to the master, Dutch shrinks away. Abraham needs Fet and his lack of emotion to kill the Master as much as he needs his city knowledge. The Master is nesting somewhere in the city. Fet has something to do first. Seeing Nora's mother likely made him think of his own.

Nora and Eph wrap up Matt's body. He wonders if Kelly was the one who damaged Matt's face, and Nora thinks that's a good assumption. Kelly got away, but to where. Nora mentions how people disappear in Argentina all the time, but this isn't Argentina, and Eph isn't going to let his son lose his mother. Outside, Eph lights Matt's fire. Nora thinks about Jim, his kindness. Eph admits that when Jim lifted up his shirt that was the worse moment of his life. Nora asks if they should say something about Matt, its his funeral pyre and all, but Eph has nothing nice to say.

Dutch asks Abraham about the strigoi, if its all true how they've worked, how they attracted people who wish for power, importance to them. It's all true. And even though communication methods have changed, they always block those pathways, to limit knowledge of their infection. Dutch asks if he knows Eldrich Palmer, Abraham knows of him. Dutch tells him that Eldrich hired her. She thought it was about corporate money and greed, and worked her ass off to shut down the internet. She shut it all down, twitter, facebook, even the deep web that most people don't even know about. She felt superior, and raked in the money, which was stolen. She should have trusted her instincts, she didn't like Eichorst, which peaks Abraham's interest.

Past. Abraham tries to sleep as the strigoi hunts. He's ready though. The strigoi eats someone, and Abraham cuts his finger, drawing the creature's attention. The strigoi seizes him. He knew that Abraham had been watching him, and he mocks Abraham's tiny knife. Abraham calls out to his God, but the creature tells him that his God ins't coming, to prepare for something else.

Felix is rolling around, and one of the other prisoners doesn't appreciate it too much. Gus warns him that the two of them are going to have a few words when he's out of his cuffs. Felix looks like he's going to vomit, turns out he just has a stinger in his throat. He lets it loose, and Gus manages to duck it. Felix lets it fly again, this time at the prison transport driver. His snacking steers the vehicle right off the road.

Nora talks with her mother, sorry to have left her for a long time. Nora needs a little comfort after the conversation, and Eph is more than happy to comply. She strips down, and throws Eph to the floor.

Panic ensues in the prison van. The second guard comes back to check on the prisoners, and gets the stinger treatment too. Gus grabs the keys, and uncuffs himself, and grabs the fallen officer's gun. He shoots his friend, and leaves the rest of the prisoners to their own fate as he hauls ass to get away.

Abraham and Zach have a little more bonding time. Zach is worried about his father, but Abraham tells him that his father will be there, but it takes time to do what he has to do.

Past. Abraham has fellow inmate reset his fingers. Abraham is in bad shape, so bad that Eichorst notices. At first he thinks that Abraham is hiding something in his hands, but instead he sees that he's injured. No longer worth anything without the use of his talented hands,he sends Abraham to the group that is to been killed and buried in the hole that they dug the day before. Luckily planes fly overhead, shooting at the Nazis and sending them scurrying away. It gives the Jews the chance to make a run for it, and run they do. Some even help Abraham over the fence, as he could not climb it alone, and they run off to freedom.

Eph lies in the afterglow of his and Nora's little tryst. Diane storms in looking for Kelly, and not exactly pleased with what she finds. Zach isn't answering his texts now, Kelly continues to not answer hers, and she's worried. Eph tells her that it isn't safe in the city, that she should leave. It's not safe, but Eph still found time to screw Nora on the carpet, Diane isn't buying it. Diane asks where Zach is, and Eph tells her that Zach is with his colleague, and asks that she call Nora's phone if she hears from Kelly since he lost his. Diane warns him that if he hurts Kelly that she'll cut his heart out. Eph loves his wife, and he'll do anything to find her. Nora looks a little angry over his proclamations, being the other woman sucks. Diane doesn't exactly believe him, but she leaves as do Eph and Nora.

Eph makes it to Abraham's pawn shop. It's quiet, with everyone resting. Zach asks if he burned Matt's body, and he did. Kelly wasn't heard from, but he does tell him that Diane came by. Eph isn't her biggest fan, but Zach tells him that she makes his mother laugh. In the morning they'll look for Kelly more. Zach asks to help, and Eph agrees.

Eichorst finally extracts the silver bullet from his leg, and the sight of the offending object pisses him off.

Past. Eichorst runs through the woods to a secret bunker hidden in the snow. Inside lies the beautifully carved box. He lights candles all around the room, and drink heavily before breaking down in tears, asking why he's been forsaken. A wind brought on by the master causes some of the candles to be extinguished. The monster glides in. He's done all that the Master has asked, and he has. It's time. The Master reveals himself to be Voldormort's awkward brother. He slices open Eichorst wrist, and inserts a worm from his flesh. Eichorst begins his change.

Jim helps Abraham up. He's fine. Eichorst has gotten away. The silver bullet did little to him, because of his age. The group compiles their knowledge. With night falling, New York is easy pickings to the rapidly growing strigoi ranks, unless they can figure out a way to harness the power of the sun. UV light sabers anyone?

Manhattan. Eichorst limps, that silver bullet bothered him a bit more than was though. He has difficulty jumping onto the train platform.

The four take a cab ride to a medical supply store, but no surprise its closed, and the cab speeds off before they can come up with a new plan. A little B and E is added to their lists of crimes, and Eph smashes their way inside. Nora thinks she hears something as they look around. And Eph is held at gunpoint by Fet. Jim tells him they have a legitimate medical emergency, which doesn't make Fet lower his weapon. Eph tells him they're from the CDC, and that has his attention. Fet lowers his weapon, and the group get to looking for the UV lights, but Fet already took them. Fet recognizes Eph, asks if he's some dangerous criminal. Jim points out that the police will be there soon, with their breaking in and all, but they won't be. Fet disabled the alarm before he entered. Abraham asks about his experiences with the strigoi, and he's had some. Nora negotiates for some of the UV lamps, and Fet allows them to take a few. Jim, Nora and Eph seek out some go phones, while Abraham chats with Fet. Fet warns Abraham off of the subway, telling him that there are dozens down in the tunnels, but Abraham corrects him, more like thousands at this point. He asks if Fet knows the tunnels, and as a rat catcher he does, well.

Eph and Nora grab supplies, Jim tries to pay, but the machines are running super slow at the gas station. Little miss hacker is inside, and she's fairly gloating about her work, and the large wad of cash she was given to do the job.

Abraham asks for Fet's contact information, but Fet works alone. Abraham spots one of the infected, and excuses himself.

Nora knows things are going to get worse before they get better. Once news gets out of the strigoi, there is going to be mass panic and looting. A strigoi comes to the gas station window, and throws a throat stinger at it before Abraham removes it's head with his sword. Abraham moves onto the second one, and what does the hacker inside notice, the infected guy? Nope, the crazy old man with the sword. Abraham almost coos at it before shooting it with his nail gun and beheading it. Fet arrives, bashing a third one in the skull coming to Abraham's aid. Jim throws money at the gas station attendant, as Eph and Nora run to assist with the oncoming group of strigoi. Others, oblivious to the danger also exit, but they don't fare too well against the throat stingers. Jim digs for some extension cords while Fet, Abraham, Eph and Nora fight off the oncoming horde. Jim manages to fry one, but he can stop another from smacking him with its stinger. The group retreats into the gas station, and the delivery man finally notices the commotion around him. One of the Strigoi comes to the door, but changes course. Jim goes to clean up his cheek. The hacker isn't so happy to hear about the strigoi as Abraham scopes out the garage. Eph charges up some of the UV lamps to give them a fighting chance.

Abraham knows they have very little time, and Fet asks for the rules. He needs to know how to kill the strigoi. Lead is useless, but silver seems to work. Fet is interested in Abraham's nail gun, standard issue from Home Depot. The hacker's friend, Frankie, tries to call for help, but that system has been disabled too. Maybe the hacker should have been less worried about notoriety and more concerned with why the StoneHeart Group wanted to crash systems and shut down the internet.

The gas attendant makes note of everything stolen, and Eph explains that they're doctors from the CDC, and there's an outbreak which essentially turns people into vampires.The delivery man isn't buying it, and he wants to leave. Eph stops him, but none of them see Frankie making for the door until she's through it. Nora locks the door behind her, and they watch Frankie bob and weave her way through. She makes it past the strigoi, and they don't give chase. Fet's truck is too far to risk running to safely. The deliveryman and the hacker want to try for is, and they try to make a run for it. The hacker freezes in fear, and the deliveryman isn't nearly as agile as Frankie, and gets eaten. Eph and Nora come to the hacker's rescue. They all leave together or not at all. They won't last through the hour if they don't move soon. More are coming, all connected to the master. Eph doesn't believe, but as more gather, he doesn't have a choice.

Fet keeps watch. He decides to throw some money to at the lottery. His luck can't get any worse he assumes. Jim hands Nora a water, and tries to hands Eph some milk. Eph refuses, and Nora notices something. Under the UV light she and Eph see that Jim has a worm. Eph prepares for some field surgery. He's going to cut the worm out of Jim's head.

Nora takes her gathered supplies into the office. Jim drinks up as Eph prepares his worm hunt. Eph hopes to get to the worm before it reproduces. Footsteps clomp around on the roof. Jim is panicked as they start. Fet and Abraham prepare to defend the gas station. The hacker has an idea. Eph manages to extract the worm, and Nora fries it. Fet puts one a car wheel. Eph stitches up Jim. The gas attendant makes some noise, one of the strigoi breaks through the glass door. Eph runs for the UV lamps and fries him, and Abraham shoots him for good measure. He knows a diversion when he sees one and runs outside to find one of the strigoi cutting the power. Lights out. 

The charged UV lights are placed at the shattered door, but the strigoi attack at the garage. Fet beats them back. They've twenty minutes of UV light, and few options. They're sitting ducks. Abraham wants to move. He calls upon Fet's knowledge. The strigoi try to break through the AC, but luckily they haven't reached full maturity yet, and don't have super strength. Even at maturity,  they won't be as badassed as Eichorst. He's one of the chosen. Eph isn't comforted by Abraham at all. Fet tries to get the gas attendant to come with him, but he feels safer inside of his box. Fet pays for everything they've taken, and then some with one of his winning scratchers. Eph makes up some moltov cocktails, while Jim apologizes for his past sins and thanks Eph for his efforts. Eph tells him it was nothing, ,but then spots something, another worm. Jim tells him he's fine that he doesn't feel anything. Eph lifts up his shirt, he's completely infected, there are worms all over his back. Jim knows that he's done for. Eph wants to take him to the hospital, to try everything to save him, but Jim knows that this can't be stopped. He asks Eph to kill him, but he won't. Abraham knows there is no time for all of this, that he's going to die. Eph wants to help him, as Abraham tells him to save Jim's soul. Jim can't handle the thought of killing his loved ones, of turning into a monster. The strigoi are almost through the AC, and Fet ends the debate, by shooting Jim in the head killing him. Eph loses his shit, but Fet did what he couldn't. Jim wanted to die, and they were wasting valuable time arguing.

 Abraham says a prayer over jim's body, but there's no more time for tears the strigoi are inside. Abraham, Nora, Fet, Eph and the Hacker make a run for it. Eph promises to repay the favor should Fet get hit by a stinger. Fet pumps some gas, while everyone else tries to hold back the strigoi. Eph makes his way to the delivery guy, who is still kinda alive. Eph pays him a kindness, and everyone loads into the truck as the gas station goes up in flames. They're free and clear for now.

Bronxville, Westchester. A man arrives to a hotel but it looks a bit deserted. The place is empty and he helps himself to the bar as he watches the news, which reports how the mobiles and internet has been hacked causing the slow down before moving onto the dead plane story with Joan front and center. He gets a call from the nanny about his wife, Joan. She has the kids at her house, and she’s scared for them. He tells her that he’s headed home, and to take the kids there, but she refuses. He heads home to find that his house looks deserted. He runs inside to grab some cash for the cab driver who isn’t accepting cards with the wacked out internet, and comes into contact with an infected neighbor. He runs back to the cab and yells for the cab driver to drive away, but he doesn’t, even as the infected launch their throat stingers against the windows. Instead, freaked out the cabbie goes to take matters in his own hands with his gun. He manages to kill a few before one takes him down, and the man runs into his house. But home doesn’t equal safety, his wife Joan is inside, and she’s got a throat stinger of her own.

In Abraham’s shop Nora notices his silver bullets. He’s taken what he can from his grandmother’s tale and turned it into weapons to fight the Strigoi. Abraham’s big plan was to kill the head vampire, but Eph thinks that they should go the whole exposure route since they have video proof, since the whole killing one by one is not helping, plus Eph points out that killing the Master and the others dying because of that loss makes no biological sense. It may not make any sense but Abraham is sure that is the best way to defeat them, he knows his enemy far better than anyone else. Nora asks how they can find the Master, but Eph doesn’t want to contact Jim, which is their only hope. They’re out of other options though.

Poland, 1944. Abraham works in his carpentry shop with the others when he notices some soldiers making silver bullets on the other side of his cage. Thomas Eichorst arrives, and announces that they’ve searched their barracks and discovered someone has stolen some wood and made an idol. He asks for the culprit, and when no one confesses, he begins killing men around Abraham, threatening to shoot them one at a time until the perpetrator steps forward. Abraham confesses and Eichorst asks where he learned to carve like this. He looks at his hands, and asks him to come with him. He has a special project for Abraham, and lays out the blue print. There’s lots of detailed work, and until further notice he’s excused of all other duties. Abraham made the Master’s box!

Gus is getting a full exam by an officer. He’s been arrested for the killing of the coroner, though apparently no one bothered to even look at the body. When Gus makes reference to his “frog tongue,” bleeding white blood full of worms the officer just assumes that Gus is on some heavy drugs, and suggests that he’ll be more clear headed once his high has ended. Gus doesn’t take drugs, and is sure that some crazy things are happening, it’s New York though, there’s always craziness.

Jim packs their bags, and wants to get off to the airport. His wife, Sylvia, is concerned. It’s the most deadly outbreak, and suddenly he wants to run off to Palo Alto with her, not to mention the fact that he’s paranoid and fidgety. She asks why he was sidelined by Everett, but Jim explains that everyone was around Eph. She asks if he helped Eph get into trouble, and he toes around a confession. Eph, Nora, and Abraham knock at the door. Sylvia thought that Eph was detained by the FBI, and he was, but you know, stuff happened. Eph tries to make Sylvia understand that because Jim accepted bribes an epidemic is running rampant through the city. Sylvia cannot believe that Jim is going to let Eph use him as bait with his crazy talk of vampires, but Jim has seen the creatures for himself. She refuses to listen, and leaves the decision up to him. Sylvia leaves. Abraham asks Jim to describe the German to him, and its Thomas Eichorst. Eph asks Abraham’s history with Eichorst. It’s complicated. When they first met he was human, but just as monstrous.

Past. Abraham works in his little caged room as Eichorst comes to check on him. The work is progressing, and takes his mind off the place he’s being kept. Eichorst opens up to him about his awful carving skills, having had to steal from a classmate to pass. Abraham is sure he didn’t fall into his current job, he didn’t. Eichorst has a way of finding the perfect people for the job at hand. He marvels over the perfect work and leaves Abraham. Abraham eyes the silver just outside.

Joan’s children awaken. They want to go home. The Nanny’s daughter urges her mother to take the children back even though she’s concerned of the danger in the home. She’s insistent, and her mother caves, on the condition that if she is correct and Joan is sick that they will take the children from there. The daughter is a nurse, and she assumes that if Joan is sick that she will know what to do, not that her medical training has covered a strigoi epidemic.

Eldritch asks what happens if the newest drug cocktail fails and his body rejects the liver, but his caretaker/hired muscle wants him to think positive thoughts. Eichorst pays Eldritch a visit. The two aren’t nearly as chummy as they were previously, and Eldritch’s man looks at Eichorst with distaste. He’s suspicious of the man and he has every reason to be. Eldritch’s plan is unfolding, mostly without issue. He plays a message from Jim claiming that he did not destroy Redfern’s body, and that he wants more money from the German in exchange for his silence and the body. Eichorst is disappointed, but decides to take care of it.

Gus finds himself in lock up. Luckily, or unluckily depending on how you look at it, so is his friend Felix. Felix isn’t doing so well. He’s ill, and when Gus seats him down, one of the other prisoner’s protest, and Gus knocks him to the floor. Felix thinks he’s being punished for what he did, and Gus tells the CO that Felix is sick. He’s not too concerned, telling Gus that the paramedic will come check him when he has time.

Jim tries to talk to his wife Sylvia before she leaves, apologizing for lying, but she doesn’t want to hear it. I’m not sure if she’s mad because he lied, or because he’s going with their crazy plan. Nora assures him that she’ll come around. Jim gets set to face Eichorst. Abraham hands him a silver blade.

Past. Abraham breaks open the lock between his room and the room of silver, but before he can really grab anything, Eichorst pays him another visit. Eichorst wants him to pick up the pace, but carving takes time. He asks about his past, and Abraham tells him about where he grew up. Eichorst knows of the place, he traveled through there. It’s an awkward bonding moment, Eichorst even offers Abraham a drink. In his drunken state, Eichorst tells him that a new furor will rise, who will actually deliver all that Hitler offered. Abraham thinks that would be really bad for humanity, but Eichorst knows different. It all sounds great, unless you’re a Jew, Abraham points out. Eichorst thinks him an elitist, that he’s too good to do anything. Eichorst hands him a gun, and gives him the change to kill him. He should have taken it.

The nanny, her daughter, and Joan’s kids arrive at the house to find the cab with the door open. Should have listened to mama, she was right to go with her gut. The kids run out of the house, looking for their mother, while the nanny and her daughter chase after them. The girl finds her daughter dead. The Nanny is adamant that they leave, though her daughter thinks that they need to call for help for the father. Joan leaps after them, but the daughter manages to knock the stinger away before it can grab the children. The foursome run, and the sunlight keeps Joan away, but they find themselves trapped inside of the house. Barricading themselves in one of the rooms, they watch as Joan tries to break through the glass to get them, and she’s not alone.

In the subway, Eph and Nora watch Jim as he prepares to meet the German. Eichorst arrives on time, he notes that Jim doesn’t have the body, and asks where the Jew is at. He knows that Jim has chosen the wrong side in this fight. He asks him to reconsider for Sylvia’s sake, and goes all animal on him, growling softly, but Jim holds his ground. Jim has chosen a side, and condemned Sylvia to death. Eichorst accepts his decision, and leaves with Eph and Nora in hot pursuit. Abraham is watching and waiting as well. Below in the tunnels Eichorst gives Eph and Nora the slip, and Nora nearly shoots Jim. Jim tells them that Eichorst knew it was a trap, that he could smell Abraham, and the trio rush to find Abraham.

Abraham has Eichorst in his sights. When the train arrives, Abraham gets on board. Many of the passengers in the car are coughing, and Abraham thinks better of his pursuit and exits. He knows that Eichorst has exited as well, and removes his sword in preparation. Eichorst doesn’t want to kill him, he wants them to end as they began. The cane sword once belonged to the master, and he wants it back. Eichorst knocks the sword away, and prepares to eat Abraham when Eph, Nora and Jim arrive. Eph takes a shot at Eichorst, who makes a break for it, but not before telling him that he’s giving him another day of life for Services Rendered.

Past. Eichorst gives Abraham a sandwich from their new cook. Abraham is hesitant, but Eichorst tells him that he’s earned it. The box is done, and it is beautiful.

The nanny sits and prays with the children as the other strigoi breaks the window open with a baseball bat. Joan prepares to eat her children when a group of hunters kill them. They’re some sort of rat strigoi themselves. The leader asks if any of them are injured. The nanny says no, he looks over the children first, and finds them to be uninjured. The nurse reveals that she was knicked earlier. The leaders lets the nanny take the children, but her daughter the nurse cannot go. He shoots her in the head, telling the mother to be quiet, to not touch her, that she’s corrupted.

The sun rises on another day, a lunar event is about to occur. New York has reached a new level of crazy, even for the city that never sleeps but it hasn’t seen anything yet. Things are about to get even wilder. What can be wilder than human ken dolls? A virus running rampant that will consume everyone.

Thomas in full Vordormort glory pays his chained up victim a visit. He pulls the man’s chain to get his head into position. Once in position he uses his throat spear and sucks him dry. Was the whole chain contraption really needed, or did he feel like a bit of kink with dinner?

FBI agents pay Kelly a visit. They look legit, and not like ghost hunting underwear models, and they’re asking about Eph. Apparently they aren’t that good since they had no clue that she and Eph are separated. Little do any of them know just how close Eph is as he hides out behind cars watching them talk to his ex. She asks if its about the whole airplane thing, but they’re stingy with the information. Matt tries to play the whole man of the house card, but Kelly is tightlipped, and sends them away. They go figuring that Eph couldn’t be in the house with the new boyfriend there.

Two pest guys chat it up in a diner, wondering about the current rat situation. Fet throws in his theory about the mass rat displacement, and shares with them the things he saw down in the sewer. Its so much worse than any of them could imagine. It’s not mole people in the tunnel, mole people would be a blessing. Fet warns them to be careful, and the two mock him as he leaves.

Gus does a little sparring in the ring as Felix watches. He has a visitor from Mr. Eichorst, and the muscle isn’t budging. Gus sees that he’s packing heat, and decides the better option is to go along and see what the man wants.

Zach asks too many questions, wanting to know if his father is in trouble, because he’s on TV. Eph sneaks in, and Kelly wants to know what he’s done. He claims its all BS. He tells Kelly to get Zach out of the city, that something bad is happening, and worse they’re discrediting him. Matt who listens in at the top of the stairs decides to throw his weight in, and asks why Eph is here. Kelly is freaked out by Eph’s warning, and Matt doesn’t quite believe him because the government would totally warn people. Right? Sure, let’s not believe the guy who works at the CDC who is genuinely concerned for his family. The government is trying to turn things around on him, and its not a conspiracy theory. Zach reminds his dad that they can trace him by his phone. Kelly sends her son upstairs so that Eph’s crazy talk doesn’t frighten him. She’s concerned that he’s lost it because of the custody hearing, he’s always told her that she can’t outrun a virus. But this is one that Eph is sure that she has to try to, this is important. The FBI interrupt with a knock at the door, Matt’s a total dick, and hopefully Kelly throws him out now. Eph tries to make for the back door, but of course they have that covered. By gun point the FBI claim that they only want to talk to Eph. They cuff Eph and take him into custody. Eph tells Kelly “Run” as he’s taken away.

Matt is upset that the neighbors may have seen Eph taken away in cuffs. Kelly is more angered by the fact that he called the FBI on Eph, but Matt didn’t want to be an accessory and points out that he forced his way into “their” house. But it isn’t his house, or their house, its her house, and her ex husband and she’ll be the one to decide how to deal with them. Zach is curious as to why his dad was arrested, and asks if they’re going to Vermont. Kelly wonders if it isn’t a bad idea, but Matt isn’t willing to risk anything apparently but infection if Eph just went off the deep end. Seriously you would risk being infected with a deadly virus rather than to admit that maybe your girlfriend’s ex isn’t crazy and there’s a serious virus on the verge of an outbreak. And why is no one reporting on what went down in that senior center, does no one care that elderly people were attacked? Or is the StoneHeart Group’s hacker just that good? Matt knows she’s upset, but Kelly points out that he’s a guest in her house and he needs to start acting like one. She considers that she made a mistake, and Matt changes his tune. He is trying to protect this family. Kelly is done talking though, and heads off to work. Matt resorts to childish tactics of fine, well I have to work late, but Kelly is past the point of caring.

Abraham has reached his next address. He skips the front door, and makes for the back one. No one in this town locks their back doors. He sees that there was a wake of some sort. Lots of food and drink, and he removes his hat to get a closer look, and leaves it on the counter. The guy sure knows how to make himself at home in the homes of people he’s about to murder. He heads down to the basement, good choice, its blood splattered. Someone’s heart beats way too loudly. Abraham finds more than one creature, they’re all huddled together, but they don’t attack. The original passenger comes after Abraham and he uses his trusty nail gun and cane sword to dispatch him. The victim creatures shamble towards him, and it’s Abraham’s heart that’s been making all the noise. He’s on the verge of a heart attack, but he can’t get to his pills with monsters looking to eat him. He fires off his nail gun to incapacitate them and makes his way back upstairs and into the sunlight. Where is a UV light saber when you need one? Abraham gets the door closed to the basement, and grabs one of the candles from the table. He turns on the gas stove, grabbing his hat and leaving the candle behind. That should take care of the creatures.

Nora is awoken with her mother’s vacuuming. She asks if she remembers anything, but all she remember is a lovely dinner. Jim calls and tells Nora that Eph brought Redfern’s video to Everett, and that he’s been arrested. Nora can’t believe her ears, it doesn’t make any sense. The doorbell sounds, and Nora springs to action preventing her mother from opening the door. They need to make a run for it she says. Nora packs a quick bag.

Abraham takes a cab away from the scene of the crime, and he looks like hell. The cabbie tells him not to die in his cab, he even goes as far as to ask if Abraham has enough cab fare. He does, and he wants to be home before the eclipse starts. The city has reached new levels of crazy, but the cabbie isn’t so sure it’s the eclipse. Abraham tries to recruit him to his cause, but the cabbie isn’t taking him seriously.

Gus and Felix meet up with Thomas, who was nice enough to don his nose in the creepy underground. Gus isn’t looking to play again, he’s done. Thomas isn’t taking no for an answer. Gus didn’t look in the box so he wants to just walk. Thomas wants him to recover a body from the hospital, probably Redfern’s. Gus tries to walk away, but Thomas looks to sweeten the deal. In addition to $800.00, his dear mother won’t be deported. Don’t mess with his mama! Thomas has found his weakness, and as he taunts Gus about the love’s ties that bind, Gus loses it, and punches Thomas and smudges his makeup. He wails on him with little effect. Gus is shocked, and even more so when Thomas catches his fist and throws him against the wall. Felix remembers that he has a gun in his hand and fires off a shot, but that doesn’t effect Thomas either. Thomas warns him that he is his salvation or his downfall, and warns him not to be so foolish again, and sends him on his task.

Eph has a little sit down with homeland security. He’s told his story and he’s sticking to it. They think that he killed Redfern, but he most certainly did not. He asks the one agent to text his son since he was cuffed in front of him, but the agent isn’t sure that Eph is in his right mind. He is, but him saying that they need daylight to hunt these things, probably isn’t the best avenue. When he tries to check the time via the agent’s watch, the agent backhands him. The guy doesn’t care who Eph is or what fancy medical school he went to, he owns him, and plans to keep him locked up for awhile. Seriously, I wasn’t aware this was a pissing contest.

Gus and Felix wait for their pick up. Jim collects them, and gives them their uniforms. So Jim is still working for the bad guys too. Et tu, Brute?

Nora’s cell is still on the fritz. Her mother is worried about where they’re going. But Nora knows they need to get someplace soon, it’ll be dark soon with the eclipse. Nora looks up Abraham, he’s the only one left to help them.

Fet heads back to his office, and it’s completely empty. Even the flirty secretary is gone. Fet hears a noise in the back room, and goes to investigate the locked room. H can hear a rat or something squeak, and that’s when he notices his boss is in there sitting in the dark, and he’s not quite right. The man leaps up to attack, throat stinger and all. Fet is able to get away, and draw the blinds. The sun fries the man, and Fet takes another look around. The secretary is there too, and she’s infected. Before she can completely turn and attack he opens the blinds for her too.

The FBI agents continue grilling Eph. They want to know about that whole head smashed body from the airport and the infected people that need to destroyed. Eph asks them to consider for a moment that he’s right, to just go to any of the airline passengers’ house, and see that they are infected. They don’t believe a word he’s saying, until he claims to know where all of the bodies went. They want a location, he wants a deal. The slappy one gets threatening again, but Eph points out that they won’t find their answers there.

Kelly has a drink with her neighbor, Diane (our favorite succubus’s mama from Lost Girl!), who thinks that Eph’s behavior was purely about cockblocking. Kelly is feeling bad about her hard shutdown of Matt. He hasn’t called or text since, but good riddance I think. Diane knows its nothing but pride, and Matt has been showing his all over with this whole redecoration, she’s lucky he hasn’t been marking his territory another way. Kelly wonders if Eph is right, and maybe she should go to Vermont. Kelly invites her friend along, but Diane turns her down. She’s a Queens girl, they don’t run.

Felix, Gus and Jim go about the task of dumping the body, and Felix’s curiosity gets the better of him. He wants to see who they’re dumping. When he unzips the bag all he sees is the throat stinger. Jim wrangles the thing back in the bag with a stick, and he and Gus toss the body in the water, and it sinks to the bottom. If it worked for Hoffa, it must work for everything, right?

Fet takes a little walk. He pays a visit to his father, who looks surprised to see him. His mother isn’t home though. Fet is acting a little weird, and his pops jumps to the conclusion that Fet needs some cash, but that isn’t why he’s come. Fet continues looking around, asks about his father’s incomplete manuscript. It’s almost complete, and his father’s schedule looks to be busy. There’s plenty of strife between the two men. His father is still upset over fet’s chosen career, but Fet didn’t come to fight. He came to warn his father about the outbreak that is about to overtake the city, turning people into hungry savages. His father thinks that the job has gotten to him, and doesn’t know why he should believe his estranged son. When Fet goes to leave, his father asks him to stay for his mother. Fet asks him to leave for him.

Kelly and Zach prepare to view the eclipse with some styling paper glasses. She asks him if they should stay or go. Zach thinks they should go, but it may be too late for that. Kelly apologizes for the little scene he had to witness this morning, for all of the craziness. She worries about school, about leaving, and just holds her son as they wait for the eclipse.

The eclipse darkens the sky. The sun is completely blocked out.

People wander the street as normal. The FBI agents are completely stick in traffic. A crazy man runs through the streets, and Eph recognizes him as one of the men that was around when the bodies disappeared, the coroner. One of the agents prefers to twiddle his thumbs as the man tries to get into someone’s car. The other springs to action to intercept him and offer assistance. His partner is reluctant to offer assistance, as a woman fights to stay in her car. Poor Eph is left in the back of the car still cuffed. The coroner uses throat stinger on the first agent when he’s confronted and he’s still hungry. The second agent doesn’t stand much of a chance either. Now people panic. Eph makes it out of the car and to the second agent who is pleading for help. He gets himself uncuffed, but there’s no helping the agent, he was warned.

 Matt is still at work, still pouting over his fight with Kelly. One of his co-workers comes in holding his throat, he was attacked. Matt goes to investigate, yelling at two men asking if they did this. He approaches them, bad idea Matt.

Felix is freaking out still about the less than normal body. He thinks that they may need to wash with holy water or something, that they should have burned the body. He doesn’t like anything that went down, especially not the crazy German guy. Gus is in total agreement, trying not to freak out when they’re attacked by the coroner. He throws Gus aside, and goes after the tastier looking morsel Felix. Gus hits him with a pipe, and the coroner goes down, but not before he’s spit some white cum looking substance on Felix. He tries to remove it from his hand, freaking out about it on him. Two officers arrive and throw the pair to the ground, handcuffing them.

Abraham’s shop is locked up tight. Eph bangs on the door, and Abraham actually comes out. Eph is ready to join the cause, and Abraham allows him inside. He takes him down to the batcave, where Nora and her mother are already waiting. Nora welcomes him with open arms. Abraham is glad that they’re both ready because he has a new plan.
