Rachel wakes after her surgery to get a new eye courtesy of clone-Krystal. She's in an all-wooden room and appears to be alone, but she finds an envelope on the nearby desk. Removing her bandage, she finds one impressive, slightly-cyber-looking eye.

Sarah, Felix, and Mrs S bring Kendall Malone to Scott, who will be doing tests on her and hopefully keeping her hidden from Castor. We also learn that the reason she looks different from Sarah is because the two strains of DNA combining cause her traits to manifest differently.

Dr. Coady tells Rudy that they'll need to go after the original but the only clone that hasn't gone underground is Alison, who is still busy campaigning. But Helena is also still with Alison and Donnie, who surprises Helena with Jesse, the tow-truck driver whom Helena hit it off with last season.

Cosima goes to visit Shay to apologise for accusing her of shady dealings and Shay is not happy because of the threats Delphine laid on her. Cosima is thoroughly apologetic but can't let Shay in on all the secrets of Clone Club so it looks like this relationship is kaput.

Ferdinand pays a visit to Delphine at Leda. He wants to run off with Rachel and be in charge of Top Side and Leda. But Ferdinand's in for a surprise, as Sarah is there to offer a one-time deal. She also tells him that she was the one who was pretending to be Rachel the last time he came to visit. Sarah is willing to offer up samples of Malone in exchange for destroying Castor and Coady. Delphine says he's the lesser of two evils.

Cosima is the one brought in to take Kendall Malone's samples. Though Kendall's snappy with the biting comments, Cosima's warmth and compassion convinces Kendall to give up the samples to help save her life.

Sarah and Felix track down Mark and Gracie to a seedy motel room, and Felix even kicks the door in to get to them. Mark seems willing to help without much work on Sarah and Felix's part. He had thought he'd spend his last few months with Gracie before he died but this is his only chance for a cure.

Mrs. S tells her mother that if need be, she'll destroy her genetic material with an acid bath. She also wants revenge for John. She promises that if anything goes wrong, she'll be putting Kendall in that acid bath.

Delphine wants Rachel moved to a secure facility and orders Nealon to have her moved. After Nealon leaves, Delphine notices that "Rachel" has unusually manicured nails and then "Rachel" wakes up and smacks her in the face. She determines quickly that the patient in the bed is Krystal, who thankfully still has her eye. She wants to know what's going on and why weird things keep happening to her. Did they just need to take a sample of her eye? We're certainly glad she still has it.

Rachel is also confused about where she is too. She's being watched though security cameras and sees the name "Finch" nearby. She demands to know who's keeping her there but gets no response.

Helena catches Jess up on everything that happened since they were away, including the prison break and soap-making. She's all prepared to hook up with Jesse in his truck but then she gets a call from brother-sestra Felix and learns that her family needs help. Jesse's willing to wait, though.

Alison is at the polls with Donnie, and Rudy is lurking nearby to follow her and her campaign school-bus. Donnie knows they're being watched though and gives Alison a heads-up and texts Sarah to let her know. Sarah is also tasked with punching Mark in the face repeatedly for a cover story, we think.

Alison's campaign bus makes a pit-stop to lure Rudy out of his truck. He heads into the garage where Helena is waiting for him. She's taping weapons to her hands, saying it's "prison rules." He doesn't want to tape his knife so she kicks the duct tape into his nose. Some time later, a bloody-faced Rudy calls Coady to say he's found the original, turning the phone to show Kendall, and sends Coady the location. But it's actually Mark in disguise.

Helena still has Rudy to fight, though with his glitches it's not much of a fight. She gets a screwdriver into his arm, forcing him to drop his knife. Cody arrives at the location and sends some of her goons inside. But then Ferdinand shows up and shoots here driver dead and apprehends Coady, saying she won't find what she's looking for there.

A dying Rudy shares childhood memories with Helena. Rudy ponders their similarities, but she tells him they're not alike, given that Rudy is a rapist. But she does lovingly stroke her dying brother's face.

Mrs. S gets Kendall to share more information. Duncan had visited her some years after his original harvesting to admit what he had done and the fear he held for his life. Everything had gone wrong but he was able to hide the original, Kendall, and there was one child outside of it all that was hidden in the foster system (Sarah). She also mentioned something about Neolution. Kendall put Sarah in Mrs. S' custody because she had the connections to keep her hidden; it was the one last piece of her own foul life. Kendall and Mrs. S are able to have a moment of reconciliation.

Delphine has Dr. Nealon in holding. She wants answers on who he works with and Rachel's whereabouts. He tells her to turn on the screen, which she does, and finds the surveillance feed of Rachel. Delphine also seems to know about Neolution, something Nealon claims has infiltrated and manipulated all the moving pieces of this, including Leda, Top Side, and Castor.

Ferdinand comes to collect samples from Kendall, while it's implied that Ferdinand's man taking the samples is actually part of Neolution. Nealon offers Delphine a place in Neolution but when she refuses, he attacks her and displays a worm coming from out of his mouth. Delphine gets a shot off into Nealon's chest, who ominously tells her that she won't live till morning. She takes the worm out of Nealon's mouth using a pair of pliers and calls Sarah to tell her that she can't let Ferdinand have the samples and that both Leda and Castor are run by Neolution. She says to tell Ferdinand that Rachel is still alive and was taken by Neolution.

When Ferdinand hears this, he goes on a rage and beats his goon with a bat. The man admits to being a Neolutionist, and Ferdinand hates Neolutionists so he's now apparently part of Team Leda-Clone because he refuses to hand over Kendall's samples. He wants Kendall hidden, Mrs. S has connections, and tells them all to head out while he'll dispose of this Neolutionist's body.

Delphine goes to Shay's to apologise to her and gives them their blessing, promising to not stand between her and Cosima. She also tells Shay that she can tell Cosima everything if she wants. Looks like Shay has more secrets after all. She also tells Shay to give Cosima a card; it's of the Dyad Institute and has 324B21 written on the back.

The gang all comes together for a dinner party at Bubbles, where Alison gets the call that she beat Marcie Coates. The only one not present is Kendall, who is resting up before the trip she'll be taking to disappear. Sarah and Art note how not everyone is present, and everyone toasts to Beth. Helena also toasts to Kira's "little face." Alison then toasts her victory and that they'll all face whatever comes next together. She also thanks Donnie for standing by her through everything. Cosima then gets called outside by Delphine, who asks her to keep the genome sequence and Kendall secret and safe. The two mend fences and Delphine kisses her goodbye. Delphine then heads to her car in the garage and upon realising she's not alone, turns to ask, "What will happen to her?" She is then shot in the chest. The identity of her shooter is not shown.

Rachel finally gets a visit; it's a little Leda clone named Charlotte who says that "she" said that Rachel will be her new mum. The "she" in question is Professor Duncan, Rachel's mother, who steps out to identify herself.

Meanwhile, Mrs. S, and Kendall arrive in Iceland where Sarah is reunited with Kira.

Orphan Black will return to BBC America for Season 4 in 2016.

Sarah, Felix, and Mrs. S have made it to London safely in search of the original source of the genome.

Rudy's still glitching and his condition is only worsening. Dr. Coady assures him that their men will track down the original genome in time to save him.

Helena spends some quality time with Alison's daughter, who is preparing for a karate match. Helena teaches her some not-so-ethical moves, namely eye-gouging, but Gracie interrupts to point out that Helena needs to not do things like that anymore. Helena agrees, saying she's a mother now and has turned over a new leaf. Gracie then goes to ask Alison for the day off to head to a doctor's appointment. Alison's looking for Donnie, who didn't come home because he was knocked out cold at Bubbles after his fight with Jason.

Cosima looks through Shay's folder and is being distant from her after learning the truth of her background and possible involvement with Castor. She seems unsure how to proceed just yet.

Donnie gets a visit at Bubbles from one of Jason's men to say that he's been taken out of the drug-dealing machine because Jason no longer vouches for him. Pouchy wants the pills back and the man takes the nitrogen case ransom, except Donnie has no idea what it is since Helena was the one who hid it there in secret.

Mrs. S has gotten in touch with some of her old contacts in London to sniff out information on the original clone. But her old friend Terrence ends up brutalised at the hands of one of Ferdinand's goons. Terrence had been working with Ferdinand and was supposed to let him know if/when Mrs. S ever came back to town, though it was entirely clear that his allegiances were truly with Mrs. S. Following a rousing round of karaoke, Mrs. S heads over to where Terrence had said to come meet him, where he was in the midst of being tortured for information on what S was looking for.

Helena catches Donnie when he's looking for the pills to return. She insists on patching him up and for answers on the source of his injuries. Helena learns the truth about the soap-making being a cover for dealing drugs but she is far more upset to learn that her freeze-dried babies in the tank have been stolen. She's ready to go hunt them down but Donnie tells her not to, and that he'll take care of things for the family which he says she is also a part of. Helena seems touched by the gesture.

Cosima goes to Delphine for help at Dyad. She says how Sarah, Mrs. S, and Felix are in London in search for the Castor original and that help and resources will be needed to stop them from beating Castor who is hot on their trail.

The London trio find a mortally wounded Terrence who gives S enough information to scare her off the trail but not Sarah, who swipes Terrence's phone and calls his last contact to try to follow the lead. Felix insists on coming along to make sure she's safe, despite not approving of her choices.

Donnie goes to return the pills and is hoping to get his money back too but instead, Pouchy says that they're working for him now. Helena had come inside to pretend she was Alison and get the tank back safely in her hands. But as the two are walking out, one of the dealers threatens Alison and Donnie's children and Helena's response is to shove Donnie out of the warehouse with the tank safe in his hands while keeping herself locked in there to dispose of them. She later exits the building with a giant machete, soaked in blood, and carrying a giant bag of cash. She's gotten Donnie's refund and thanks him for helping to save her babies. She needs to shower up and Alison is shocked to return and find a battered husband with a newly packed freezer full of cash.

Delphine goes to Shay's place to threaten her into admitting her involvement with Castor. She threatens to kill her and make it look like a suicide but Cosima calls to let her know that it wasn't Shay after Gracie calls her to admit that she had ratted them out to Castor after they promised that she could be with Mark, whom she still loves even after processing the truth about his being a clone.

Sarah and Felix follow the leads to a prisoner numbered H46239 and named Kendall Malone who is the original genome. Ferdinand calls Delphine to say that he's learned about Sarah not actually being in her custody. So now the playing field has been evened since she had previously muscled him out because of his insidious scheming done with Rachel. Sarah has broken into Kendall Malone's flat. Unexpectedly, Kendall Malone is an elderly woman who is plenty tough. They end up facing off with another but Mrs. S arrives and surprise! Mrs. S is the daughter of Kendall Malone! She had been tested on while in prison by Professor Duncan and Malone carries the genetic DNA of both Castor and Leda because she had absorbed a twin when she was in utero. But outside, Felix is starting to panic as he thinks he's spotted someone (probably Topside) that's going to come in and grab them. Mrs. S is prepared to burn down her mother's apartment and kill her mother to destroy the Castor DNA but Sarah implores her not to, and to understand that they need her since she is both Castor and Leda.

Delphine goes to get her nails done and the woman doing her nails is a clone we've not met yet, save for some footage of her about to hook up with Rudy. She shares the story of this crazy hookup with Delphine. Turns out Krystal's boyfriend Hector ended up dead following this encounter with the "twins." Delphine also has some not-so-nice plans for Rachel, namely wanting her to be eliminated.

Sarah open to Cosima about how much she's been thinking about Beth and wants to finish what she started. She doesn't want to lose another one of her sisters. Cosima assures her that no one has been lost yet. Also, Cosima has been staying at Shay's place, as the two are getting cozy.

Felix brings Helena over to Alison and Donnie's, since it's their turn to look after the "crazy" one. Alison thinks Helena can help them to make soap as part of their newly-acquired Bubbles business. Helena's also good with kids so she gets on quite well with Alison and Donnie's children. She's also secretly lugging around her nitrogen tank that she believes is carrying her babies.

Sarah speaks with Scott and realises she needs to speak to Rachel, so Scott helps set up a Skype call. Rachel's on to the fact that Delphine wants her gone. She offers to translate the book in exchange for them getting her out of Dyad and says she wants to leave a quiet life in Taiwan. She then offers up the name of clone-Krystal and says she wants them to help her steal the identity so she can get out. As proof of her knowledge of the book, she has translated the copy of the page of the book that Scott offered up. The message reads, "In London town we all fell down and Castor woke from slumber." Mrs. S is skeptical of doing this plan and argues with Sarah over how to proceed. Gracie overhears the argument and the group assures her that Mark is different from the rest of the Castor clones.

Cosima brings Shay to Dyad to show her around but Delphine breaks up the party with bad news regarding the ongoing research of the sequence. There was a test trial on another ill Clone but it didn't work and she died. Delphine wants Cosima to have another stem-cell treatment from Kira but Cosima refuses to harvest her like that again.

Donnie and Alison bring Helena to Bubbles and have her begin working on some soap in the back. Helena playfully flirts with Donnie by comparing him to a baby ox. But Donnie has bigger concerns on his mind, confronting Alison about his displeasure at Jason having kissed whom he thought was Alison. But this conversation will have to wait, as Gracie arrives to also begin working at the shop. Also Helena is hiding her nitrogen tank in the back. Is that safe? The first reunion between Helena and Gracie is not so tense the way you might have guessed. Gracie apologises for her miscarriage and Helena says it's okay and that Gracie will be an auntie to her baby.

Scott returns home to find Rudy lying in wait with Scott's cat on his lap. As it turns out, someone has tipped Castor off about Duncan's Dr. Moreau book and the hidden code inside. How did he find out about that?

Krystal is blabbing her story once again, this time to Felix who has come in with a fake North American accent to get his nails done. He's basically flirting with her and it's hilarious. He's also pumping information out of her so Sarah can document it so her identity can be stolen. Krystal also expresses her concerns about the strange happenings that have been going on in her life, including how her boyfriends are basically on a two-year rotation to the day. Felix wants to tell her about Clone Club but Sarah refuses to let him, and Felix needs to hurry up and go back to steal her wallet before heading out. Felix also finds a notebook indicating that Krystal has been more thorough in her investigation of the things going on in her life, even documenting them in a little notebook. At least dear Felix was nice enough to leave her with some words of encouragement.

Alison confronts Jason on the kiss but he ends up kissing her again. He's all but offered himself up on a silver platter to be Alison's plaything but Alison is insistent that she is married and he can't do anything. Donnie then texts Jason from Alison's phone to invite him to Bubbles and the two get into a slap-turned-punch fight that leaves Donnie knocked out cold in the work room.

Cosima and Delphine are having a moment in the lab but they're interrupted by a call from Scott, who tells Delphine about the book since it's been stolen by Rudy at the threat of harm to Scott's cat. Delphine is furious at not having been told about the book and Cosima tells her that the book is gone. In actuality, they did make a copy of it but they're not about to tell Delphine that any time soon. The thing is, Rachel was the only other person who knew about the book so she had to have told a mole who tipped off Castor. Delphine interrogates Rachel, who isn't offering up an explanation over how she got the information out.

Cosima, Scott, and the rest of the team is working together to help Rachel make a break for it. Cosima brings Delphine her resignation from Leda. Rachel makes it to Mrs. S' place where the rest of the group are waiting. They give Rachel all of Krystal's stolen IDs and sit Rachel down so she can translate the entire book from start to finish, after which she'll be free to go. Meanwhile, Cosima admits that she had a near-death experience and the only thing that allowed her to come back from it was a vision of Delphine. She tells Delphine she needs to let her go but the two end up kissing before Delphine says that she should have trusted her.

As soon as Rachel has finished translating the book, Dr. Nealon and other Leda team members come in. Rachel is rushed back to Leda after having some sort of episode and Leda gets their hand on the book. Nolan claims that Rachel may never recover but in actuality, he and Rachel were in on it together. They had Krystal kidnapped so Rachel can have her eye and head off to London, where the original genome is located. Mrs. S has also figured out the message of the code so now they, along with Sarah and Felix, must head off to London too. Delphine is furious to not have been told about the copy of the book so Cosima's resignation has been accepted, but not before she hands her a file on Shay, who appears to be the Castor mole.

Mrs. S is able to track down a freshly-escaped Sarah and Helena. Helena, now knowing that Mrs. S was responsible for putting her in Castor's captivity, wants to kill her but Sarah stops her from doing so... for the time being anyway. Helena wants nothing more than to kill her. Helena had also been shown to be comforting Sarah regarding Paul's death, saying that he was a good man in the end. Sarah is emotionally exhausted and doesn't want to discuss it.

Alison and Donnie go meet Connie, Alison's mother, who owns the Bubbles soap shop that they're hoping to take over in order to use as a storefront for their pill-pushing. Alison seems to be insecure around her mother and appears to be feeling inadequate. Connie has even put up a campaign sign up supporting Marci, Alison's rival. Connie is stalling on signing over Bubbles to Alison and Donnie. Alison later has a campaign event and Felix attends to help Alison with it all.

Cosima is enjoying her post-hookup bliss with Shay but they're interrupted by Delphine, who wants a urine sample from Cosima because she says her numbers are worrying. Shay eavesdrops on their conversation from the bathroom. Cosima texts Aliso to ask her for a urine sample, after having a conversation with Scott about trying to get Rachel to decode the book. Alison is interrupted right before the event by a call from her mother claiming she's having a heart attack.

Donnie goes with Alison's ex Jason in order to drop off a payment to a higher-up drug dealer but when they arrive, they realise Donnie has the wrong envelope. The money is with Alison and Donnie instead has an envelope full of campaign buttons. Jason is sent to retrieve the money while Donnie must stay in the captivity of the drug-dealers.

The fight between Helena and Mrs. S hits a breaking point. Helena repeatedly hits her, insisting that Mrs. S hits her back. Mrs. S only lands one punch and then hugs her, saying repeatedly how sorry she is. A struggling Helena eventually relents and appears to make peace (somewhat) with the situation.

Alison arrives at her mother's store o find that her mother is fine and only had a panic attack of sorts. Connie then says that she can't sell Alison the store and Alison keeps getting texts from Felix who is saying that she's about to miss the photo-ops. Alison delivers an impassioned speech to her mother for never deeming anyone good enough. When Cosima arrives at the campaign space to try to get Alison's pee, she is mistaken for Alison and must now pretend to be her for the photo-ops. Felix gets her looking the part and pushes her to go through with this facade because if she wants help from Alison, then she needs to return the favour.

Back at the lab, Rachel is brought in for testing by Delphine and Scott reveals to her without Delphine seeing that he has her father's book. She claims to want to be taught the boardgame that Scott and his friends had been playing and Delphine gives permission, not knowing it's a rouse to allow them to be able to be alone in the future.

Alison arrives back at the campaign centre and spots Cosima upstairs doing the photo-ops and must hide while also being met by Jason, who tells her about what has happened regarding Donnie being held captive and the money. Alison texts Felix to help her retrieve the envelope from the table but then her mother arrives. Alison pulls her away to keep out of sight and then tells her that Alison was conceived in-vitro with the use of sperm that wasn't from Alison's father. She only ever wanted the best for her. Alison runs into Jason in the hall, and asks him to keep her mother preoccupied while she goes off and retrieves the envelope. Meanwhile, Felix is telling Cosima that she should hide in the loo until he can get Alison to come in and give her a urine sample.

Alison tracks down Felix and tells him about the envelope mix-up and has to admit that she and Donnie are drug-dealers and now Donnie is being held captive by a drug-dealer named Pouchy who coincidentally is the same man who cut off Vic's finger.

Jason is able to sweet-talk Alison's mother, seemingly making her believe in Alison more and in turn make her more compliant to sign over the business. Alison is able to swap out the envelopes and meet Pouchy's niece in the parking lot and is forced to sit there while the money is counted when she's supposed to be inside making her speech. So poor Cosima must go in and make the speech on behalf of Alison. Pouchy gets the call that the money is in play just before his muscle is about to cut off Donnie's nose.

Cosima is struggling to make a speech up and is coughing so she uses that as a guise to go backstage where Alison has made it back in and is able to swap back in to getting onstage and making her speech. Instead of the meticulously prepared one, she is inspired at seeing her mother in the audience to swift her tactics and say that her campaign is about family. The speech is well-received by the audience and Marci looks worried.

When Cosima heads back to go to the bathroom she is approached by Jason who believes her to be Alison and plants a kiss on her. After the speech, Alison learns from Cosima about the kiss from Jason and she seems quite surprised but perhaps... flattered? Alison then decides against giving Cosima her pee and says they need to be honest with Dyad because they need their help regarding their health. Cosima then goes hiding in the stall because Alison's mother has come in. Connie congratulates her on her speech, saying that she's earned her vote and gives her the form to sign over Bubbles. She also insults Donnie in the process, saying that she knows that when the time is right she will learn that she deserves better and insinuates that perhaps she can get back together with Jason. Alison then decides to spite her mother and reveal Cosima to her and the fact that she is a clone. She says that she didn't fool Alison's father the way that she had thought and instead she was implanted with a clone. Cosima leaves, feeling awkward. Connie doesn't believe Alison, thinking that Cosima must be her half-sister instead and that even though the donor was supposed to be exclusive, perhaps Cosima's mother received a sample too. She also had initially thought that Cosima was mixed-race because of her appropriative hairstyle.

Sarah learns that Mrs. S has patched things up with Helena. They fill each other in on what they've missed, including Paul's death and Gracie now staying with Mrs S.

Cosima opens up to Shay, saying she has a pretty serious health issue. Rachel is shown to be playing the farm game with Scott and she wants the book but he tells her that the book does not belong to her, nor was it left for her. Cosima is shown to be bleeding out of her vagina and Rachel begins to decode a copied page from the book given to her by Scott but says she'll only give the information to Sarah.

Sarah has a dream in which Kira appears on the base and leads her to a room where Sarah can see herself lying on a slab and having one of the male clones giving a blood transfusion of his own blood into her body. It's unclear as to whether this is some sort of recovered memory or simply a manifestation of her fears. The real Kira is of course still in Iceland and Skypes with Mrs. S and Felix. Mrs. S is still using her connections to try to find Sarah. Gracie brings them a tray of tea, saying it helps her to have something to do.

Paul meets with another agent and tells him about Doctor Coady's unsanctioned research but Paul needs to give more proof if actions are to be taken against her. Paul heads to the base and finds that Sarah is really sick. He gives her some water and she pleads with him to help her escape and he says he's trying to help her out of there. When Dr. Coady comes in, Sarah claims that she did something to her to cause her sickness, despite Coady's claims that she's trying to help Sarah and gave her an anti-inflammatory. Sarah enquires after Helena and Coady says that if the desert doesn't get her, then Rudy will. Rudy is driving a patrol through the desert, and a hungry Helena proceeds to eat one of her scorpion friends.

Cosima is enjoying the post-hookup bliss with Shay, who asks about Sarah, claiming that Cosima said her name in her sleep. Yeah. Sure. But when Cosima heads into work, she is met by Delphine who is waiting for her. She knows that they got their hands on a Castor-brain. She also points out that there is a protein present in Gracie's brain that was also in the Castor-brain, which clearly warrants a follow-up. Gracie learns that she is now infertile, and she feels relieved. As Cosima is leaving, Delphine says she misses her but Cosima doesn't look too pleased to hear that.

Alison and Donnie are enjoying their new funds from their drug-selling scheme. They proceed to make it rain in their room and get walked in on by one of their children who is promptly ushered out. She later meets with Jason, her drug-dealing ex, to pay back the money she owed on the supply. She wants to take her drug-dealing to the next level but he doesn't think she's ready for that, even more so when Donnie rolls up in a fancy new car and Alison chides him for coming and being ostentatious in his spending. Alison needs a business for a front through which to launder the drug-money. Alison proposes that she and Donnie take over "Bubbles," her mother's store. Alison has Jason come for a visit, despite Donnie's being disinclined to want to bring him along.

Paul asks another soldier on the base about what's going on and the soldier says how things have changed since Paul left. Rudy had brought a sick girl to base, whom Coady treated. But after that, things become more secretive and the boys were ordered to record their sexual activity and take samples. Everything is in Coady's office, which is restricted. He then speaks with Mark, who says how Sarah helped retrieve the Castor DNA and that he brought her to the base because he was with Rudy who would have otherwise killed her. He also admits that he fell in love with Gracie, once Paul pushes him to speak freely. Mark helps him retrieve the keys to get into Coady's office and get more proof. Mark is supposed to stand watch but he comes into the office and looks through the research with Paul, and he tells Mark that the defect is contagious through sexual contact. Paul then places Coady under arrest for her crimes and she admits to infecting Sarah with the Castor pathogen. Sarah hallucinates meeting Beth, who shares the story of how she met Paul. Sarah is wracked with guilt over not being able to save her sisters and Beth speaks about how being consumed by all of the clone-craziness. Beth tells her to stop asking "why," but start asking "who."

Felix asks Scott for help in the form of showing him where Rachel is. This conversation takes place when Felix brings Gracie in to Leda for more testing. He threatens and humiliates Rachel, demanding to know where Sarah is. But she doesn't want to help, only wanting to get out. Felix leaves in a huff.

Paul calls in his arrest of Coady and shares his findings, including the fact that she has been sterilising women. He is told that it will take six hours to get an extraction team and he must hang tight and manage things until then. He is also advised to leave Rudy out in the desert. Rudy gets a call from someone back at the base, learns of the situation, and proceeds to head back.

Delphine is shown to be monitoring Cosima's new relationship with Shay. Cosima goes to make out with Shay but gets a call from Scott who says that based on the paintings Rachel has been doing, he thinks she may know the code in her father's book.

Paul visits Sarah and tells her about the sterilisation of women and also that Coady has stated that Sarah hasn't been showing any of the same symptoms. Coady seemed to know that Sarah would beat it and Sarah demands to see her. The clones have the same defect but while the boys' brains are attacked, the women's epithelial tissue is the problem instead. But Sarah's fertility is proof of how she can beat it. Paul figures out that Coady is trying to isolate and weaponise it. But someone else seems to be calling the shots.

Rudy sneaks back into camp while his driver is placed under arrest. He lets out one of his brothers, Miller, and hands him a weapon so they can take back the base. Paul is being advised by Sarah that they need to get out of there and Paul assures her that help is on the way. But the conversation is interrupted by Mark, who says that patrol came back seemingly without Rudy and that upon checking the SAT phone, he has found that they got a call from Arlington. Paul then calls his contact and as he lies, he knows that he has been betrayed and no one is going for them. Paul and Sarah must escape now, and Mark tells them to make this right. Paul gets into a fight with Miller and has to snap his neck but is badly wounded by Miller's knife before he makes his kill. Paul leads Sarah to a tunnel and locks it so she can't get him to leave with her. He tells her to follow the tunnel to the garage, grab jeep, and leave. He tells her that he loves her and leaves. Sarah, having no other choice, heads off.

Paul is shown to be in Coady's office with the science. Coady and Rudy walk in and when Paul is shown to be refusing to leave his course, Coady shoots him repeatedly. Paul is then revealed to have a grenade, which he activates. Rudy and Coady run out, possibly/probably with enough time to get to safety, and Helena picks up a disorientated Sarah following the explosion.

Helena may be back in her cell following her mercy-killing of Castor's lab rat but what she doesn't know just yet is that Sarah is now in the cell right next to hers. Meanwhile, Cody and her science team will get to work on the baby remains to try to isolate the genome so they can resolve the defect in the Castor clones.

Sarah tries to figure out a way out but her yelling alerts Helena to her presence but Helena is holding a grudge, believing that Sarah is to blame for the captivity she has faced for all this time. Sarah tells her it was Mrs. S's doing and that the decision had been made from a place of trying to protect Kira, though Sarah admits it was a bad call.

Gracie arrives at Art's apartment to turn herself in and ask for help, as Sarah had given her Art's card to go to him for help if ever she needed anything. Gracie shares some of what she has been through regarding her mother but she doesn't want to talk about Mark. She admits she lost the baby and this is the reason she was cast out.

Cosima calls Felix for a pep talk before her first found-via-Internet date. Her date comes in the form of a hot holistic dealer named Shay. Despite Cosima's nerves, the two hit it off quite well. Cosima opens up a bit about Delphine and by the end of the night, Cosima's getting a massage and smooches.

Sarah gets taken out for questioning and on her way out she calls out to Helena to tell her that the Castor clones are their brothers. Helena also discovers that the bars on her cell door's window are a bit loose and it turns out she's been stashing butter from her meals behind a loose stone in her cell wall. Dr. Cody forcibly takes some samples from Sarah, declaring that her biology is too special to ignore. Cody is also a complete creep, as she tells Mark that his marriage wasn't real and he gets his first "log book" in which all intimate contacts are to go into.

Gracie is brought by Mark to Mrs. S and Felix so they can look after her as she is not about to essentially be deprogrammed. She just wants to experience all the norms of being an 18-year-old girl. Art and Mrs. S are also starting to get concerned about Sarah's disappearance.

Sarah's trying to pump Helena for information, knowing that she's bound to have counted the number of people on the base and have scoped out the layout. But their conversation is interrupted by the arrival of Paul, who tells Sarah all she had to do was stay away. He is so obviously still carrying a torch for her. Paul claims that all he is doing for the Castor clones is the same thing Sarah does for the Dyad clones. Sarah pleads with him to let them go but he says it's out of his hands. He claims that all they're doing is to try to save the Castor clones and that Helena is no saint either. Helena seems to now believe what Sarah says, as Paul admitted during the conversation that he was the one that Mrs. S sold Helena out to, saying it was either her or Sarah.

Sarah's still trying to mend things with Helena so she opens up about being an irresponsible mother when Kira was first born. She had a drug problem and one day, she finally left town with Vic to prove Mrs. S wrong because one day Mrs. S refused to let her see Kira. Sarah is wracked with guilt and now is determined to make for it to Kira and has a mama-bear complex about saving all the clones. Now Helena is finally willing to let Sarah in on her plan!

We learn a bit more about Mrs. S, whose past love had a drinking problem and he died because of a drunken row. But the conversation with Felix is interrupted as Gracie arrives in some of Sarah's punk-rocker clothes and declaring she wants to go out. Felix is able to reel Gracie in so they can do the drinking in the safety of their own home. The first order of events is to give her a cocktail, introduce her to some rock music and teach her to dance. But the fun is short-lived, as Gracie collapses to the floor, feeling sick and suffering from abdominal pains.

Sarah tries to fight some of the male guards when they come in due to her refusal to hand over her lunch tray. She takes a few hits and ends up in the medical centre where she swipes a tool off the tray when the physician's back is turned. Turns out it was a pair of tweezers, which Sarah must swing over to Helena through the front of her bars, tied to the end of her belt, but time it so as not to be seen by the moving surveillance cameras. Next, Helena picks the lock on her cuffs and breaks out the bar. She's also lubed herself up with her stash of butter so she can squeeze through the bars. She then messes up the camera so no one can look in. When the guard comes in to check on it, Helena impales his head through a spike on the wall and spits on his corpse for good measure. In the most shocking turn of events yet, Helena leaves Sarah behind and declares that they are now even.

Paul is looking through the base and appears to be having doubts, as he examines Parsons' body and the place where he had been strapped up beforehand. He also finds Parsons' log books with the hair samples and detailed descriptions of all the different womyn he had hooked up with. While Helena continues to scale the walls of the base to make her escape, it's then that we learn that whatever defect the Castor clones are suffering from can be spread as a sexually transmitted disease. The Rudy/Seth hook-up girl is sick and now so is Gracie. Helena's having guilt over leaving Sarah behind but since the base has been put on high alert, we won't know just yet if Helena will escape into the night or come storming back in with some grand, elaborate rescue plan. Perhaps both!

Surprise! Mark's not dead! Despite his protests, Sarah insists on helping the wounded Mark out of the cornfield just in time to get him away from Gracie's mother's Prolethean goons. Mummy Dearest is bringing Gracie back to the compound and Gracie must tuck away her wedding ring for safe keeping.

As for Helena, our favourite bottle-blonde trickster ties off her arm to slow down the sedative being inserted into her system so she can go wandering around the base. She makes it back to her room in time with a the bone from a steak which she proceeds to gnaw on to mould it into something special.

Alison gets paid a visit by a henchman of the local drug kingpin because Ramon, whom they bought the drugs off of, didn't actually leave to go to college. He made a buy-and-dash and is now missing.

Sarah has helped Mark into an abandoned house where she's able to dig the bullet out per his instruction and sews him up. It seems Mark had hoped to trade what he found for his freedom but he tells Sarah that what he found instead was just a bunch of junk. Sarah goes through Mark's stuff and swipes his motel key and gun before calling an ambulance for him, as he has just passed out.

We see little from Cosima save for her wearing a Yeti-like sweater that Felix hates. Felix advises her not to do so much pining after Delphine and to move on with her life. Yeah, Cosima! Get some honest loving this time around! Felix thinks Cosima getting on a dating app is in order to find her next scratching post but Cosima is reluctant to do so.

Alison gets to meet with local drug kingpin, and it's Jason Kellerman, her ex-boyfriend from high school! Thankfully, they're on friendly enough terms and Jason doesn't seem too upset that she has moved in on Ramon's old action. We also learn that Alison's mother always like Jason. That's certainly interesting. He wants to know why she's doing this but she doesn't feel like sharing. He respects her affinity for business and admires her savviness regarding the soap idea, which he calls "genius." She promises to double his profit on the stock, if he'll just give it back first.

Sarah makes it back to Mark's motel room and goes through the journals and other papers that were recovered by Gracie. She relays the news that Mark was undercover with the Proletheans and what's news to us is that the Prolethean patriarch Henrik Johannson was Professor Duncan's lab assistant during the earliest days of the experimentation. It also looks like Gracie's mother was responsible for carrying the clone embryos in the earliest days.

Gracie ends up miscarrying and her mother is enraged by this. She spouts some religious dogma and kicks Gracie out of the compound.

Mark corners Sarah in his motel room and she shares what she has figured out after sharing the information with Cosima who could decode the scientific chicken scratch in the notebooks. The reason why there were no samples is because Johansson and his wife used the original tissue samples to make a baby. All they need to do is find him, get some tissue samples and they'll be good to go. Mark knows that Johnasson had mentioned a son so he tells Sarah where to drive. The son died so now Sarah must dig up the grave of a dead baby.

Remember that bone? Well Helena has chomped it down into a pick for the lock on her cell door. How resourceful! Once she's broken out, she discovers a castor clone named Parsons who looks to be in bad shape. He's restrained and Helena discovers that the top half of his skull has been removed and his brain exposed with some electrical nodes sticking into it. He begs her to kill him so he can be put out of his misery. Her scorpion friend advises her to not risk her one chance at escape on someone that is already dead. Helena gives a moving speech to Parsons about them both being abandoned by their families and left to suffer. It's sad to see that Helena has bought into the BS she's been fed about her sestras not caring about her. In perhaps the "sweetest" death we've seen yet, Helena takes a scalpel to Parsons' brain. Cody comes in calling Helena names but Helena snaps back by calling her a liar who claims to love her boys but really she's just a "shit mother." Bravo, Helena, bravo!

But there's one last twist to be had, as Rudy shows up to check Mark for a pulse just as Sarah has gotten the baby's remains up and out of the ground. She tells Rudy what's in the box and when he goes to open it, she whacks him with a shovel and takes off running. She may not have the box but at least she's alive for now. Unfortunately, Rudy's still awake so he comes stalking after her in the barn. Just as Rudy's preparing to kill Sarah, Mark comes in declaring that he is the superior officer and order Rudy to stand down. Rudy knocks Sarah down and keeps his stand-off going with Mark who dares him to kill the both of them if he thinks he's such a tough "little brother." Rudy stands down but Castor clones don't leave loose ends, so it looks like Sarah's going to have take a little trip...

Sarah and Felix have quite the task on their hands: disposing of Seth's body. Of course the timing couldn't be worse for Art to show up at Felix's flat. He knows they're up to something so he comes barging in and finds the body and Sarah's first response is to truthfully tell him that they weren't the ones to kill him. So now it's time to Skype-call Cosima (and Scott). They determine that the male clones must have a neurological defect which is why they're after the original genome. Cosima then declares that they need to examine his brain... because science! Art also lets Sarah know that they've been able to track down a lead regarding Mark.

Mark's got his arm bandaged up after burning off his tattoo and despite a delay in consummating his marriage, Gracie's encouraging words coax him into finally doing the deed. It's also time for him to start opening up. He shares about his time in the military academy and how despite all the other boys and their chasing tail, he wanted to wait. He says that her father had stolen valuable scientific material and he was assigned to recover it. Mark says they're free from the Proletheans but now he needs to get free from the military. He has to recover his material, hence their hiding out in a seedy motel.

Art and Sarah catch up to the midwife that helped artificially inseminate Helena. They learn that Helena is impregnated by that creepy Prolethean leader and that a fertilised egg has been implanted into Gracie, too. Turns out Gracie is strong at bluffing which helps her to recover the stolen science material that was being kept by Willard Finch, a contact of the Proletheans.

We've got an update on Alison, too. She's working her sales skills, with the help of Donnie, to simultaneously campaign and let their clientele know who the new pill-pushers in town are. She's selling the pills by hiding them in handmade soaps. Her competitor tries to bribe Alison off the warpath by offering her a good deal on a house in the nicer district but Allison will not be so easily swayed.

It also seems as if Art was in love with Beth and that's a huge reason why he's pushing so hard to help the clones. He feels guilty for seemingly abandoning Beth in her hour of need.

Paul brings Rudy back to the base and Dr. Cody is indeed the "mother" to the clones (at least by name, of course). She's furious about Rudy putting Seth down though Paul insists that this was entirely necessary. Dr. Cody is concerned about the glitches in their weapons program though it's unclear yet just what it is she's referring to. Paul thinks it's best that Rudy stay on the base but Cody insists that she needs him back in the field.

Cosima and Scott head to Felix's place where Cosima takes a saw to Seth's skull to get a look at his brain. Oh and it's worth noting that she learned how to do all of this from some Youtube videos. That's our favourite mad scientist!

Rachel is on the mend, though she's disappointed to learn that Delphine is now the one in charge at Dyad instead of her. She's being given cards of symbols to identify and unfortunately for the tester, she doesn't recognise the two-headed horse as the symbol of Castor. It turns out Rachel knew a lot more than we originally thought.

Art and Sarah track down Willard Finch in search of Mark and Gracie. With a bit of arm-twisting, they get him to admit seeing Gracie. Mark is discouraged when Gracie returns with the stored information that doesn't actually include any biological samples.

Rudy pays a visit to Helena, who dubs him "the ugliest Mark" of the bunch. They exchange some fighting words before Paul comes in to pull Rudy away to be debriefed before he'll head back out in the field. Paul tries to apologise to Helena, though Helena promises that one day she'll kill them all, and even throws in some bullet sound effects to top things off.

As luck would have it, Sarah stumbles across Gracie in a diner. She makes it clear that Gracie needs to do what's best for her/Helena's baby and tell them where Mark is. Mark is torturing Willard Finch to get more information but while he's away, Gracie's borderline-psychotic and entirely puritanical mother shows up take her back home. She got Gracie's location from the banished midwife.

Sarah is at Willard's farm to find Mark but while searching, Cosima calls from the lab to let Sarah know that she and Scott have made an incredible discovery. The Leda and Castor clones are siblings, as in, the original donors from which the clones were spawned were sister and brother. But this can't be discussed further just yet because Sarah's got a show-down with Mark. He's furious to learn that Sarah told Gracie about Mark being clones (so in her mind, an abomination). Sarah tells him about their being siblings but Mark doesn't care. He wants to run off and mend fences with Gracie. But when he runs outside, Sarah must watch in horror as Gracie's mother shows up and offs Mark with a big gun.

Rudy's been broken out of his holding cell by Seth and their first order of events is to try to "share"a girl who gets a whole lot more than she bargained for.

Sarah and Kira are reunited with Cal, who has one fabulous new home that's both spacious and cozy. Sarah and Kira both seem to like it, but Sarah doesn't seem too quick to trust that she'll be able to even consider a "normal" and domestic life any time soon.

Surprise! The Castor clones and Paul know each other! They seem to be under his authority and he has to run some tests on them, though it's not entirely clear why. Probably all part of protocol, I suppose. Rudy aces the test, but Seth seems to struggle on one of the questions. Rudy blames it on the alcohol consumption and sleep deprivation. They have their orders, clean up and clear out. They're to be extracted and brought back to base. Doubtful that Rudy will go gently into that night, though. He hardly seems the type to take orders.

Alison still wants to run for office but with Donnie's recent unemployment, she'll need to find another way to raise the funds to afford her campaign. When she learns that the local prescription-pill drug dealer is going out of business since he'll be headed off to college, our favourite little housewife gets an idea about how to make some money.

Sarah gets a call about Rudy's escape. She's still determined to find Helena and wants to make sure that her family is safe. She and Cal are rekindling things but let's be real here, Sarah's relationship with Cal is the least interesting relationship she has on the entire show. As for poor Helena, she's still in captivity and being waterboarded by Miller and whomever else is running the show. But the waterboarding must come to a halt because the bloodworm came back and our favourite little mad hatter is pregnant! Dr. Virginia Cody is the one that halted the waterboarding/taking of blood and saliva samples and seems to be the one in charge. But who exactly is this mysterious Doctor? Is she the "Mother" of whom Paul referenced while speaking with Rudy and Seth?

Mrs. S is still on the mend after her run-in with Seth and Felix checks in on her well-being. He also assures her that Sarah will come around eventually, referring to the revelation that Mrs. S was involved in Helena's capture.

Cosima and Scott meet with Dr. Nealon, the new scientist in charge at Dyad under Cosima's regime. Nealon tells them how everyone is after the original genome and that the Duncans found two lines of clones (Leda/Castor) but never disclosed the original donors. The Duncans were the ones to start a female and male lines. Only the female line of clones was brought to Dyad when the military shut the project down (could misogyny be the reason that the military only kept the male clone projects operational?)

Art lets Sarah know about a call (from the woman who met Rudy and Seth). Thankfully, she's still alive and seemingly uninjured albeit freaked out. Turns out Rudy wasn't happy about this woman rejecting Seth's advances. She got a lock of her hair ripped out (a trophy of sorts) and all her personal information off her ID was written into their little notebook. Weird weird weird. Art warns Sarah not to impersonate an officer again but we can't help but love our mama lioness' gung-ho ways. She will do whatever it takes to protect her family.

Alison and Donnie meet with Ramon since Alison wants to buy out his business. She's one hell of a convincing saleswoman; how was she not in this line of work already? Ramon agrees to sell but Donnie's getting skittish. Allison insists that this is about their kids but also notes that her newly acquired clientele will also be voters. Donnie is in awe of her scheming ways.

Rudy calls Seth up to tell him that there's no way he's going back to base. He knows Seth is glitching and Seth admits it's been happening for a week and it's only getting worse. When Rudy makes the call, he is shown to be breaking into Felix's apartment and he says they have no choice but to "finish the job."

Cosima advises Sarah to get back in touch with Mrs. S so she can get in touch with Paul as it's their best lead on getting to Helena. The centre is trying to run the same exercises on Helena as what was being done earlier on Rudy and Seth but she's distracted by her scorpion friend and wants to know where the mangoes are. Oh, Helena. Her sass is just as strong as ever. Dr. Cody is trying to manipulate Helena by claiming that her sestras sold her out. Helena doesn't believe her though. Cody says that the Leda clones are more resilient to both nature and nurture than the Castor clones. Surprise, surprise, the weaker sex is defective.

Sarah goes to ask Mrs. S where Paul is but apparently Paul has gone dark. Sarah isn't about to dish out forgiveness anytime soon. Paul makes an appearance and much to our surprise, it's to visit Cal. He knows some dirt on Cal, who is actually a bit of a war profiteer. He only got out of his misdeeds after he got rich. These two had a deal that would buy Sarah space and time but unfortunately, Sarah has been refusing to take either. Paul tells Cal that Sarah needs to stop digging into Castor for her own safety.

Sarah and Kira have gone back to Felix's place and the running water of the tub means that they don't hear Cal's call. Poor Kira crawls into her blanket fort and lo and behold, Rudy's there and sporting some new red X's on his eyes. Is this a new Castor fashion statement? He holds Kira at gunpoint and tells Sarah he wants Duncan's research and the tissue samples of the Castor original. Say what??? Cal shows up downstairs to try to help Sarah and Kira but Seth is playing watchdog. But then he starts glitching. Sarah was already to piece together that Seth was sick (since they've got Cosima, their own sick clone). Rudy runs off when he hears Seth's hollering. In a surprising turn of events, he shoots Seth in the chest to put him out of his misery, bidding him goodbye with an "I love you." We really thought that Cal was the one who'd get shot but that's what we love about Orphan Black; we're kept on our toes!

Sarah ends up bidding goodbye to Kira, deciding the best course of action is to send her off with Cal to Iceland. Why didn't she do this sooner? Mum needs to kick butt and destroy their enemies like the badass superhero she is before she can do anything remotely domestic. "Now we find Helena and finish this shit." How will Sarah do this? She sets her sights on finding Mark. The Prolethean clone is currently holed up in a motel with his new wife, Gracie, but first he needs to burn off the tattoo from his arm. This tattoo is one that all the Castor clones have. Spoiler alert, it's a tracking device!

Helena has a dream of a BBQ baby shower in which all her sestras (plus Kira and Felix) are present. But it quickly turns to a nightmare in which a scorpion crawls out from her dress up towards her face until she wakes up trapped in the box that is her new home (till she can make her escape, of course). There is an actual scorpion in there that talks to her, and of course she talks back, and it's quite the pep talk to encourage her.

Delphine rolls up her in her fancy new car to meet Sarah, Felix, and Kira. She brings Sarah in to tell her about Rudy, the big-bad Castor Clone with the mohawk and the facial scar. He was caught in cahoots with another Castor clone (that got away) and together, they tried to kidnap a new clone that we don't see apart from some steamy surveillance footage of her hooking up with Rudy in an elevator. Now he'll only speak to Sarah.

This facedown is rather intense. He says Sarah's a legend and makes some not-so-thinly veiled threats, namely that she should count her sisters. A quick few phone calls makes her realise that everyone is fine for now but Helena is missing. Delphine has even more warnings, saying that Top Side will be sending people in to check Dyad and she needs Sarah to play Rachel (who is still in recovery and getting the pencil removed from her eye).

Alison decides to run for school trustee because she doesn't care for the current candidate's plans to redraw district lines, which would mean Alison's children would have to change schools. Oh and Donnie got fired because he finally told his boss off, and he's very excited about it.

Mrs. S comes home only to get attacked by one of the Castor clones. Of course she's no wilting flower, so she gets a few good shots in as well as a stab to the leg. This clone's named Seth and he's got a pornstache. He wants Duncan's research but she's not singing and surprisingly, he leaves her alive. Sarah and Felix find a bloodied Mrs. S and she tells them the truth about handing Helena over, as part of Paul's demand, and Sarah is livid. Mrs. S did what she thought was best for the good of the clones but it'll take more than that to win Sarah's good favour back.

Delphine's getting shadier every minute as she meets with one Dr. Nealon and tells him to put the good of Project Leda as a whole over the originals. Delphine seems like she's not so keen to play favourites anymore. Delphine then pays a visit to tell Cosima about her promotion. She says she'll keep her promise to love all of Cosima's sisters equally, but in order to do that the relationship is going kaput. Cue the box of tissues!

Alison and Donnie need to sort out their finances. They have some struggles to face in that area but now Donnie is adorably supportive of Alison's desires to run for board trustee. We are entirely here for this dream-team duo. Also speaking of duos, Cosima is teaming up with Scott to try to crack the code in Duncan's book. She hasn't even told her sisters about her plans.

Sarah decides to help Delphine fool the Topsider cleaner Ferdinand so she can leverage Delphine's help in getting Helena back. Of course Felix is there to aide in this charade. Ferdinand is played by James Frain so there's an automatic creepiness (that's Frain's specialty). The plan was to have Sarah-playing-Rachel say hello and leave but he wants to speak to Delphine and Rachel together. Once "Rachel" drops the bomb that Helena's been kidnapped, Ferdinand wants to question Sarah, whom he has led to believe is in captivity. But the "Sarah" Ferdinand meets is actually Alison in a strange wig. Ferdinand feels up "Sarah" to "examine" her and "Rachel" manages to deflect it by slapping her for getting mouthy. Sarah was supposed to have her ovaries removed (they don't want the clones breeding). But Ferdinand pulls "Rachel" aside and says he wants to discuss Helsinki, while "Rachel" just wants to discuss Helena, saying that her being out of their hands is also a risk.

Rudy's doing naked pull-ups (the guards have dubbed him "Naked Buddha") and we're not mad about it. We're betting this routine behaviour is part of his military-rooted upbringing.

Delphine pays a visit to the recovering Rachel, who is having difficulty getting her words out. Delphine's grim new demeanour rears its head when she presses on Rachel's wounded eye to make her talk. Delphine wants answers regarding Ferdinand and Helsinki.

Ferdinand has showed up to "Rachel's" and finally the truth comes out. Rachel and Ferdinand had offed six clones in 24 hours in 2006. He's already putting action in place, as armed men are heading out to take out Alison, shortly after which more of the clones will be taken out. Rachel had done this with all because she wanted to be a mother. She was supposed to get Sarah's ovary(s) and make off with Kira. Sarah tries to call Alison and warn her but Ferdinand comes in and interrupts her. He's still getting suspicious but Sarah's able to fend off his curiosity by whipping off his belt and whipping him with it. She then gets on his back as he lies on the bed and begins strangling him with it.

The strangulation is interrupted by Delphine, who has learned all about Helsinki. Ferdinand's higher-ups wouldn't be too pleased if they learned an employee had conspired with one clone to kill the others. Delphine now has leverage on him and makes him text Alison's would-be killer to call the plan off.

As for poor Helena, she's still talking to her new friend, the scorpion. She's finally let out by Miller, the military (well, most obviously military judging by that outfit) clone. By Helena's not the only one getting out of boxes. Seth AKA 'pornstache clone' shows up where Rudy is being kept and kills a guard before letting him free. They also share a hug. Aw, how broclonemantic!

Orphan Black has been a true rarity in its ability to grow its fan base and audience with each season and following the explosive and jaw-dropping season 2 finale, we've been clamouring to know just what was next for our favourite Maslany-clones!

The main revelation in the season 2 finale was that Ari Millen's character, Mark, was one of a set of male clones created by Project Castor. But of course there was Delphine's rise to power within the Dyad institute, Mrs. S and Paul's conspiring to have Helena taken away, Rachel's receiving of a pencil to the eye courtesy of Sarah, and of course, that now-iconic Clonetastic dance party. But now that season 3 is nearly upon us, it was time to hear from the cast and crew themselves about what's to come!

Jordan Gavaris talked about his lack of artistic ability, teased Felix's involvement with Alison's campaign, and getting to dig deeper into who Felix really is. Maria Doyle Kennedy talked about Mrs. S' relationship with Paul, seeing more of the back story of her character, and those tricky male clones (one of whom gets into a violent confrontation with Mrs. S in the season 3 opener).

Évelyne Brochu talked about how Delphine will react to receiving some power. Dylan Bruce expressed joy over Paul finally being in his element, and getting to make strong character choices. Kristian Bruun shared how this is a season of answers, Donnie and Alison's "second honeymoon" still going, and a whole new side of Donnie. This trio also raved about working with Tatiana Maslany, being in a comic book, and made butt-jokes. How awesome is this cast?

Series co-creator and head writer Graeme Manson assures us that this season is not about boys vs. girls, talks about the decision to make Ari Millen the actor to play the male clones, and teased possibly getting to know more about Paul this season.

Sarah is subjected to a strip search and is questioned about her sexual history by one Dr. Nealon who was the one who snuck into her apartment in season 1. As it turns out, Sarah is surrendering herself to the Dyad Institute in order to get Kira back. She shares that she previously had an abortion. Nealon wants to harvest Sarah's eggs and uses bureaucracy to get her to sign them over. This allows her the opportunity to watch Rachel try to coax Kira into seeing Sarah as bad. Rachel has also forced Delphine onto a plane to Frankfurt.

Cal arrives at Mrs. S's place to offer her and Felix his help. Art then calls Felix to say that he came home and found Helena there eating his food. Mrs. S doesn't want her getting involved because she's too unpredictable. Mrs. S later goes to meet up with (Big Dick) Paul, who has been promoted to the rank of major and is prepared to be her inside man, and he adds that a lot has changed since he came back.

Rachel stops in to visit her father, bringing a kettle for some hot tea. He has his own teabag that he had brought with him. She wants the key to his cyper and demands to know where it is. He tells her he didn't write it down (implying that it's all in his head) and begins drinking his tea. He tearfully says how much he and his wife loved her and says she watched the home videos because she couldn't remember anything. He tells her she doesn't deserve him anymore and dies in her arms.

Paul and Cal meet and they give each other a little stare-down before moving forward with their plans to save Sarah. Paul then speaks with Marian, who as it turns out, is Mrs. S's contact on the inside. They're both trying to figure out what's happening inside Dyad and the military.

Sarah gets to watch Kira bond with Cosima, who teaches her some science in regards to force = mass * acceleration. Side by side with this lesson, we see her and Scott preparing a fire extinguisher mechanism of sorts. Sarah is then wheeled away, strapped down, and brought to a room where Dr. Nealon is preparing to remove one of her ovaries, because he's decided that an invasive procedure will be the best way to get her eggs. Scott is able to discretely tell her that he's there to help her get out of there. He discretely nods to the side of her bed. Rachel asks for a moment alone with Sarah in which she taunts her with one of Kira's drawings. In it, there's not only a drawing of her sisters but a fire extinguisher. It's then that Sarah notices a fire extinguisher next to her bed with a sign telling her to squeeze it. Rachel questions her about the key to her father's research and when Sarah refuses, Rachel smashes the blood vials needed to save Cosima. Sarah then calls Rachel back over and sets off the device which sends a pencil flying into Rachel's eye. Scott helps her out of her restraints. Sarah goes to get Kira and finds her with Marian, who tells her she's free to go. Marian says she's from Topside, Dyad's mother company, and promises that she'll reveal what this is really all about if Sarah meets with her the next day.

The clones have a little party with each other, in which Cosima and Alison are able to briefly meet Cal. They whisper to Sarah their approval, saying that he's hot. Sarah walks Cal out and he says he wants to help with Kira. Sarah doesn't know what will happen next with Cosima and Cal says he's sorry about that. She thanks him for his part in getting Marian involved (he had been messaging her) and she kisses him right as Felix arrives. Cal leaves and Felix says that Art has brought Helena, who really wants to meet her sisters.

Helena comes in and meets the sick Cosima, who greets her with a hug and tells her she's very beautiful. They compliment each other's hair and then Helena meets Alison. Kira then comes running out to greet her "Auntie Helena" and the two enjoy a sweet reunion while everyone looks on with smiles and emotions aplenty. Cosima puts a vinyl on and a dance party commences with all the clones and brother-sestra joining in.

Later, Sarah and Cosima have a quiet moment in which Cosima commends Sarah on her strengths and Sarah shows vulnerability regarding how much she will miss Cosima. Helena sneaks out with Jesse's cap in hand, seemingly prepared to go find him but she's then abducted by men who put a bag over her head. The cap is left on the ground outside the flat.

Sarah arrives at Marian's mansion the following day. Cosima has a vision of Delphine and is awoken by Kira's touch. Kira asks her to read a story from Dr. Moreau. At the mansion, Sarah meets Charlotte, a girl Kira's age with a leg brace who Marian adopted. She's an 8-year old clone, apparently the only survivor of Dyad's 400-plus post-Duncan experiments. Cosima finds Duncan's key in the margins of the books so now it'll be up to her to decode it to save her own life. Helena is brought to a troop transport where Mrs. S and Paul watch from nearby. Paul tells her she did what she had to when she expresses concern over how Sarah will never forgive her. Grace and Mark get married in a little church. Sarah is brought to a room where Marian has a male (YES, MALE) clone locked up and it's revealed that he, Mark, and others are clones.

Alison helps Donnie to clean up Leekie's body. He's all wrapped in plastic and Alison has some tape ready while Donnie whines that he's going to throw up. Together, they haul him into a freezer in their garage.

Helena's back with the Proletheans and they've got some medical equipment to help put her embryos in. She's all excited, asking "Those are my babies?" when the tube of embryos are presented to her. Now she must wait to see if any of them implant.

The growths have spread throughout Cosima's body. Rachel is comforting Delphine and assuring her that Kira is only a temporary fix until Duncan finds a cure. For now, Kira's bone marrow will have to suffice and Rachel appears uncharacteristically understanding. She warns her that Sarah will never allow it, given her history with the Dyad Institute.

Delphine relays the message to Sarah and says that things are different now. Sarah still doesn't trust Dyad but later Skypes with Cosima and a teary-eyed Alison, who had no idea that Cosima was so sick and while being pushed by Donnie from behind the laptop, manages to ask what the word is on Leekie. Cosima says that Dyad is claiming he died of a heart attack. Donnie wants to get rid of Leekie's body by dumping him in a lake but Alison says this is a terrible idea. "Haven't you ever seen Dexter?" They then decide to bury him in their garage. They tear up the concrete with a jackhammer.

Helena is brought to a nursery full of around twenty children or so. It would seem that Henrik has been breeding outside of his medical lab, which isn't all that surprising as this is seen repeatedly amongst religious cults. When she spots a midwife, Alexis, getting rough with one of the young children and threatening to give them the "strap," she slams her against the wall, grabbing her neck. She says there was a woman in the convent like her and that if she touches her again, she'll gut her like a fish.

Sarah has a talk with Kira in which she explains what bone marrow is and gives her the choice of whether or not she wants to go to sleep and have it surgically taken from her. Kira asks if Auntie Cosima will die without it and without being pushed to do so, says yes to the procedure. The procedure is done by an associate of Mrs. S to ensure that they don't allow Dyad to get their hands on Kira. Sarah never leaves Kira's side during the procedure.

Vic pays Alison a visit and she's still furious, sending him away. In actuality, he lingers to snoop on whatever is going on in the garage. Donnie comes up from behind, holding a gun to his head. Donnie brings Vic into the garage and tells Alison he thinks he should shoot her. He finally caves and says that there's a cop, Angie, in a van outside. He says she's been squeezing him and doesn't even think what she's doing is official. Donnie then reveals he had the safety on the whole time. They send Vic out and Donnie follows him into Angie's van. He tells Angie if she comes back to harass him or his family again, he'll bury her by reporting her for harassment, adding how Art was suspended for doing far less than what she's doing. He snaps a photo of them, in which Vic throws up a peace sign, and tells her to have a shitty day.

Henrik ends up implanting more of Helena's embryos into his daughter Gracie's body. She is brought in to the same room as Helena. Gracie is not happy and explains to Helena that these are her babies she is now being forced to carry.

Ethan is working with Cosima and Scott on finding the cure. His wife Susan had been the one to come up with the idea of making the clones sterile by preventing their ovarian follicles from maturing. He's trying to make sure now that each synthetic sequence has its own key and not allowing Dyad to keep the codes and continue with the clone experiment.

Marian pays Rachel a visit and they have a vague conversation with ominous undertones. Marian says she is intrigued by Sarah Manning. Rachel later goes into a room where she drinks a martini and watches childhood videos. She sheds a tear and calls herself stupid. She then pauses the video feed and changes it to photos of Kira and Sarah smiling together. She then places a call to a doctor, asking for their expertise.

Delphine pays a visit to Rachel's office and when Rachel steps out, her computer pings. Delphine takes a look and finds Mrs. S's henchman, Benjamin, on the screen with the word "confidential" plastered across his face. Alarms sound in Delphine's mind, as he is the one in charge of guarding Kira.

Helena tries to sneak out and offers Gracie the opportunity to come with. She tries to leave but Henrik catches them and strikes Helena across the face with his shotgun. He drags Gracie into a cage locks her in. Mark, Gracie's love interest, has finally had enough. He asks Henrik if he had to put his own child inside of Gracie and Henrik spouts nonsense about Helena defying science and how he couldn't ignore this sign. Helena comes up from behind and chokes Henrik out while Mark helps Gracie out of the cage. Helena, still choking Henrik, tells Gracie to run. Gracie grabs her bag and Mark's hand and they run out together.

Donnie and Alison finish re-cementing the garage and Alison declares that she's never been more attracted to him. She tells him she wants to be nasty and has him take her from behind against the freezer where they had hidden Leekie's body.

Henrik wakes up strapped down in his own lab with his feet in stirrups. He tries to tell Helena that they saved her but she's not having any of it. She lubes up the IVF instrument and asks, "Is this how it works?" before shoving it up into Henrik, laughing loudly while he screams like an infant. She then sets the farm on fire and runs off into the night.

Delphine comes to the hospital and Sarah heads down to the front to meet her. Delphine tells her what she saw on Rachel's computer, warning her not to overreact or they will know. Sarah comes up and says that Rachel is making a move and they need to secure the elevators. She goes in to get Kira but then Felix gets a call from the real Sarah, as this Sarah was actually Rachel in disguise. She injects Felix with a needle and he collapses. When the real Sarah gets to the room, they find Felix passed out on the floor and they figure out that the whole thing with the computer was a rouse for Rachel to get Kira.

Delphine visits Cosima, breaking down in tears, saying she has made a terrible mistake. Cosima asks what she has done. Meanwhile, Kira wakes up in a floral, obscenely girly room with Rachel sitting at a desk. Kira asks where Sarah and Mrs. S are. Rachel tells her she knows how frightening this must be, but that she'll get used to it. "You may even grow to like it here, just as I did."

Surprise, everyone! It's time for a new clone! This one's named Tony, he's transgendered, and following a heist-gone-wrong, his mortally wounded friend tells him to find and pass on a message to Beth Childs, by whom he was apparently set up. He ends up meeting Art instead.

Sarah and Kira are reunited with Felix, Mrs. S, and Ethan but it's not long before Felix has to run off. Upon returning to his flat, he finds Art there with Tony and needless to say, Felix is amazed. Tony doesn't know anything about the clones and wants to head out since Beth is nowhere to be seen. Felix asks him to stay put and promises they'll tell him everything. Felix first steps out with Art to regroup and learns that Tony's friend was offed by men in suits and now is insisting on speaking with Beth. They go back in and tell him that Beth is dead. He says Beth had said that they were related and now he has a message to deliver to Beth but won't give up the information. Art tells Tony to stay put with Felix while he goes to make sure Tony checks out since they need to know that they can trust him first.

Alison comes home from rehab and is furious with Donnie for not picking her up as he was supposed to. She finds him at home, in bed, drinking. She's furious and tells him to take the day to think after ushering their children out after they heard the commotion of the argument.

Cosima locks Delphine out of the lab, still angry following her lying about the origin of the stem cells. Delphine is summoned to meet with Rachel and is informed that Leekie died from a heart attack and that Rachel is now her boss.

Sarah has a quiet moment with Kira, who asks if Helena is doing alright. It's then that they hear a visitor downstairs and Sarah goes down to find it is Delphine. She's been sent by Rachel, who has a new proposal. After informing them of the heart attack story of Leekie's death, Delphine says that she believed him to be the lesser of two evils but it's too late for that now. Now the key to a gene therapy cure that doesn't involve Kira is to bring Duncan and his research in.

Cosima returns to her lab to find Scott playing a board game with his crew, the Dyad Room Wars Club.  She at first leaves them alone but after demonstrating her knowledge of the game, they ask her to join. She impresses them but they become concerned after she starts coughing. She hides the fact that there's blood coming out of her coughs. Delphine comes in and speaks to her in private, saying she thinks the Dyad Institute killed Leekie and she's running out of time. She wants to help, thinks Duncan is the key, and tells Cosima to tell her what she wants. What Cosima wants is to finally get Delphine baked. This happens, along with some helium-balloon shenanigans. Cosima and Delphine are able to mend some of the hurt in their relationship but Cosima warns Delphine not to betray her again or she will destroy her career. It's nice to see Cosima grow some fangs.

Alison finds Donnie trying to pack up his things and leave. She berates him for his being ready to abandon her and the kids and tearfully asks if he ever loved her. He tearfully apologises for every wrong thing he's ever done, from watching porn to putting her in rehab to hating her mother, and says that he has made a huge mistake now, worse than anything she has ever done.

Duncan tells Sarah and Mrs. S that he can definitely cure Cosima. He has information on some floppy disks and possibly in his head too.

Tony is having a bath at Felix's place. Felix is getting annoyed with him so he heads out to get some booze. In actuality, he is meeting up with Art to learn the information he has gotten on him. Tony is snooping through Felix's place when Felix returns with some booze and food Art has delivered. Tony discovers a painting that he seems shocked to see (possibly of Sarah?) and when Felix comes back in, he's taking a shot of testosterone. Felix privately calls Sarah to tell her about Tony the trans-clone but ends the call when Tony comes over and asks who he has just spoken to. Felix says it's his sister and Tony kisses him. Tony then confronts him about the painting that was in fact of Sarah. Tony wants to know if the painting is of Beth and whether Beth is his sister. Felix says the painting isn't Beth but of his own sister.

Donnie admits all of the spying he did, thinking he was doing something worthwhile and feeling stupid now. He curses Leekie and his big stupid face, sneaking doctors in to examine Alison. Alison then confesses her role in letting Aynsley die and Donnie then blurts out that he accidentally killed Leekie.

Tony is ready to leave now since Felix won't give up the information, saying he wouldn't believe him even if he told him. Just as Tony begins to storm out, who should he run into but Sarah. Sarah then fills Tony in about being clones. He wants to know about the men in suits and delivers the message, "Keep the faith. Paul's on it. He's like me. He's a ghost." Yes! You know there had to be more to Paul!

Rachel's on the phone about Paul's having recently disappeared. Duncan comes in and meets with Rachel. She tells him their relationship needs to stay professional. He asks if she remembers how he used to read the Island of Dr. Moreau to her. She says she does and he uses it as a segway into saying he hopes she can forgive him for being glad that Leekie is dead (and they are therefore reunited). She says, "Of course."

Donnie shows Alison that Leekie's dead body is in the trunk of his car. He apologises for the smell and says he didn't mean to shoot her. She scolds him for the fact that he's not well-wrapped and is further angered when she learns that he used her gun to shoot him, which he then put back in her gun locker. She also now needs to make a new liner for the trunk.

Sarah leaves Tony at Felix's place. Felix tells Tony that they'll need to keep him away from everything for now.

Duncan gives Rachel a list of items he'll need to being unlocking the synthetic sequences, including a reader for his floppy disks. They begin talking about Kira like she's a prize. Rachel wants to know how the "unmonitored tramp" was successful in her fertility and Duncan then reveals that this makes Sarah a failure, not a success, as the clones were all infertile by design. Rachel keeps it together but on the inside, she's fuming. Dephine comes in and is tasked with introducing Duncan to Cosima.

Art comes to see Felix and Tony and warn Tony that since his car is stolen, he needs to get going before the cops, and more dangerously the Dyad Institute, come find him. Tony's going to have to get on a bus to wherever but he first says goodbye to Felix. Felix says he's not worried about him and gives him one of the clone-phones, already programmed with Felix, Sarah, and Art's numbers. He says to call if anything goes wrong. Tony pecks him and says, "Later, sister-kisser."

Cosima reveals to Scott that she is "324B21," the subject of the research he has been doing. He's amazed and saddened to learn that she is dying. He says it'll be an honour to be working with her. Duncan then comes in and meets Cosima and Scott. Cosima then begins coughing up blood and collapses on the floor, convulsing.

Finally, Kira is shown to be reading Duncan's copy of Dr. Moreau, which is filled with scientific notes.

Alison is bonding with Vic in the treatment facility and talking about Aynsley. He assures her he won't judge her, after all she has done. She admits to sleeping with his husband and he tells her she's brave for sharing. But then she blurts out her role in letting Aynsley die. She just stood there while she clawed at the countertop until it was over. Alison feels great and thanks him for being so supportive. She gives him a pair of gloves she knitted as a token of thanks. He leaves the gloves behind and when she goes to return them, she overhears Vic talking with Detective DeAngelis offering up a juicy scoop on Alison for which he is supposed to get charged against him dropped.

Cal calls Sarah up to warn her that his computer has been hacked, but not to worry. He's set it up to bait those that are after him and he's headed off with Kira. Sarah insists on coming to meet them. Upon arriving, Cal apologises for their nearly getting caught but she assures him it wasn't her fault. He shows her Kira's drawing of her "aunties" and Sarah says Kira just has an active imagination.

Delphine lovingly looks after Cosima as she has stem cells inserted into her uterus. Delphine says it's the beginning of Cosima getting well and though Cosima smiles, she seems concerned about whether or not it will work. She later overhears Delphine telling Scott to keep something secret from Cosima. She confronts them and learns that the stem cells were from Kira, as the Dyad Institute had lost a tooth in an accident and procured it from the hospital. Delphine insists she didn't know until after she saw it was working but now the treatments won't be able to continue unless they bring Kira in to acquire more. Cosima is livid and tells Delphine to get out.

Alison calls Felix asking for help regarding Vic and DeAngelis, insisting that she can't go to jail. He comes to visit the next day (it's Family Day!) and Alison pulls Vic into a room to speak privately with him and Felix unleashes himself on Vic. "You selfish manure-bag of a man!" Alison feels betrayed by Vic and he says he's just trying to move forward with his life. He's going to walk out but then Felix says that Sarah's not pleased, baiting him back in with the mention of his former love.

Paul updates Leekie about Sarah and Helena's separation but lies about how there was no sign of the scientist. Leekie mentions that he's developing an artificial limb and later makes a private call saying he needs to meet with Marion Bowles, saying it's an emergency. When she finally comes in, Leekie informs her of Ethan Duncan's being alive and Sarah tracking him down. Marion asks how Rachel will react if she learns of this and Leekie says that she has become emotional. Marion says they'll have to step in, Leekie says that she will fight, and Marion replies that she will lose.

Cal offers to Sarah for them to take Kira and run away to Reykjavic. The offer seems enticing but then Felix calls to inform them of the whole Alison-in-rehab and Vic-blowing-the-whistle thing. Alison needs Sarah to come and clean up this "doo-doo" and not surprisingly, Sarah shows up in all her badass glory, ready for battle on behalf of her clone-sisters. She meets with Vic, who says he needs to atone and begins to read her a letter he has written. He apologises but then tries to re-work the deal to make Sarah have a conversation with him instead of simply accepting his apology. Vic wants Sarah back but he assures her that's not happening. He ends up passing out and crashing into the table. "I may have spiked his tea," Felix states, suppressing a Cheshire-grin.

Mrs. S comes to visit Leekie and make a deal, offering up information in the form of floppy disks containing all the original research. The deal is also that she will give him Ethan but she and Kira must be left alone. The deal is struck but then she calls Sarah to let her know the moves she has made.


Donnie and the kids arrive and Alison is delighted to see her children but remains icy towards Donnie due to all of his betrayals. But while Sarah and Felix are dealing with Vic's unconscious body, an orderly comes in search of Alison and Sarah must don a headband to hide her lack of bangs and heads out to help with the event. Alison comes into her room and finds Felix struggling to drag Vic's body. She's alarmed, as her family will be coming to tour her room after the speeches are finished. Sarah is then called up (as Alison) to give a keynote speech and she mutters, "Oh shit," under her breath. She heads up and begins her improvised speech. But then she has to do some role-playing where Donnie plays Alison and Sarah must play Alison playing Donnie.

Alison and Felix are trying to hide Vic's body but then Angie shows up and nearly catches them when she calls his phone. They're able to hide him and text her to go outside.  They return to her room where Sarah is, having gotten away. Donnie catches them and Alison tells him off, saying that now she'll go running off to Doctor Leekie. What's interesting though is that despite being Alison's monitory, he genuinely doesn't have any idea of what's going on.

Rachel and Paul meet Mrs. S in secret, who has backstabbed Leekie by arranging an opportunity for Rachel to meet her thought-to-be-dead father. In a rare moment of emotion, Rachel appears truly moved by the reunion though we don't see all of what happens between the two of them. Paul and Mrs. S speak in private as they watch them from the living room.

Donnie tells Alison that he had been recruited into a long-term social metrics study that was supposed to be benign. Alison tearfully tells Donnie that he destroyed their family with all the lies and the spying. She adds that he's so stupid that he doesn't even know why. Sarah and Felix awkwardly make their exit.


Sarah heads back to meet Cal and Kira but then she gets a call from Cosima. She fills her in on everything and Sarah is now considering giving Cosima a tooth. Kira overhears the conversation and promptly ties a tooth to a door and yanks it out (it's presumably a baby tooth). She asks Sarah if it will help and it's just too sweet to bear. Sarah drives off with Kira and Cal warns her to be careful or whatever this all is will swallow them both.


Rachel confronts Leekie about her father and mother. He says he merely intervened when they had tried to run away with her. Rachel tells him it's over and calls Marion on speaker. Marion and Rachel are now in cahoots. Rachel has been tasked with killing Leekie, who becomes emotional. She tells him to go, not get in his car, nor go home, and he might survive. She tells him that it's foolish to spare him, but nurture has prevailed and he did raise her. He tearfully kisses her on the forehead and heads out. But he's shown to be followed by someone in a car. It's shown to be Donnie, who orders Leekie into the car at gunpoint. Donnie is angry about having been lied to and is now seeking answers? Revenge? Leekie coldly brushes him off and is unconcerned with Donnie's marital woes. He tells him to put the gun away and Donnie says, "I quit!" and slams the gun on the steering wheel. Unfortunately for him, the gun goes off and Leekie's brains go splattering over the passenger side window.
