Suicide Squad Steals the Show Saturday at Comic Con
Saturday is the busiest day at comic
con without a doubt. By this point in the con, people are exhausted,
most of us have slept very little, and we're all a little too
excitable, and this was certainly the case at this year's comic con.
People camped out overnight for a chance to score a signing ticket or
a seat in Hall H to see the cast of Suicide Squad, which was easily
the most sought after thing at Comic Con.
We chose signing, and I wish I could
say that it was smooth going but it was anything but smooth. With the
entire cast set to arrive, its not surprise that it caused such a
frenzy. What was surprising was just how badly the planning for the
signing ticket distributions was. DC please learn from Marvel, and
just pass out your wristbands at your booth.
Before we hit any signings, we stopped
by the Grimm panel. David Guintoli, Russell Hornsby, Bitsie Tulloch,
Silas Weir-Mitchell, Reggie Lee, Sasha Roiz, Bree Turner and Claire
Coffee with EPs Jim Kouf, David Greenwalt were all on hand. The sixth
season of Grimm will be a short one, but it looks like a very
promising season. David and Sasha joked about their characters facing
off early in the season with plenty of sexual tension, which I don't
think anyone would be opposed to. Silas is hoping for a litter, and
Claire talked a little bit about parenting challenges. Before the NBC
panel wrapped they previewed both Emerald City and Midnight, Texas,
which both look great.
From there, we made a bee-line for
signings. The Suicide Squad signing, was not only the most sought
after signing it was also the most packed. The Walking Dead signing
was crazy on Friday, but it was nothing compared to the Suicide
Squad signing. The sheer number of people trying to catch a glimpse
of Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis,
Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Scott Eastman,
Cara Delevigne, Adam Beach, Karen Fukuhara, and director David Ayer
was unbelievable. The stars took to the top of the DC booth to take
pictures and interviews, before the signing started.
Will Smith proved to be just as
charismatic, as you would think he is. He made sure that he greeted
and shook hands with plenty of fans. And even pulled up one lucky
little fan, who just happened to be my little one, to meet Margot
Robbie. During the signing all of the cast was very chatty, and very
excited to be there.
