NEW YORK – November 21, 2013 – This winter, it’s not just the weather
outside that will be frightful when Syfy launches two chilling
paranormal investigation series. Re-join Jack Osbourne, Jael de Pardo,
Dana Workman and Devin Marble as they travel America’s remote back roads
searching for paranormal activity when Season 2 of Syfy’s Haunted
Highway premieres, Wednesday, November 27 at 10PM ET/PT.
Then,
one week later, gear up to globe trot with Syfy’s newest unscripted
series Killer Contact. Beginning Wednesday, December 4 at 10PM ET/PT,
Killer Contact’s team of intrepid paranormal investigators travel around
the world using ghost hunting techniques to search for answers to the
world’s most notorious murder mysteries – including cases that have
eluded forensic scientists, detectives and historians for centuries.
ABOUT HAUNTED HIGHWAY
Fueled
by eyewitness interviews and evidence collected with state-of-the-art
equipment, this new season will push our two teams of investigators –
Jack Osbourne & Dana Workman and Jael de Pardo & Devin Marble –
further off the beaten path as they self-document harrowing face-to-face
encounters with the unexplainable in some of America’s darkest and most
remote regions.
In a first for the series, the second season
kicks off with an investigation, “Island of Lost Souls,” that features
both teams partnering up to take on their biggest case yet: a journey to
the remote islands of Dry Tortugas, located 80 miles off the coast of
Florida. There, they will conduct their own first-person investigation
into an abandoned military fort that’s rumored to harbor the ghost of a
possible Lincoln assassination conspirator.
The season’s second
episode, “Manchac Swamp / Moonville Tunnel” (Wednesday, December 4 at
9PM) features Jack and Dana traveling to a Louisiana swamp town where
hundreds of people are rumored to have died during a fateful funeral of a
vengeful psychic. Meanwhile in southeast Ohio, Jael and Devin
investigate a haunted tunnel in the ghost-town of Moonville, OH.
Future
cases this season include “Beast of Bray Road / Tonopah Mine” in
Wisconsin and Nevada (Tuesday, December 10 at 9PM); “Lake Murray Beast /
The Donner Party” in South Carolina and California (Wednesday, December
11 at 9PM); “Shades of Death / Bridge of Doom” in Ohio and New Jersey
(Tuesday, December 17 at 9PM); and “Black Angel / Arizona Domes” in Iowa
and Arizona (Wednesday, December 18 at 9PM).
Haunted Highway is produced by BASE Productions. John Brenkus, Mickey Stern and Ron Ziskin serve as executive producers.
ABOUT KILLER CONTACT
During
the six-episode series, the Killer Contact team responds to reports of
extreme and dangerous supernatural activity around the world. At these
reputedly haunted sites, they delve into the gruesome history of the
infamous individuals who were active there - as well as the victims of
their heinous crimes - to determine if they are the cause of present-day
hauntings.
The Killer Contact team includes point man Austin
Cook, researcher Adam Leidenfrost, ghost interrogator Greg Niecestro,
tech guru Hector Barragan and role player Molly O’Connolly. Together
they use any means necessary to coax the paranormal into revealing
itself, even if it means a dramatic reenactment of a human sacrifice to
tempt the tyrannical Mayan ruler, Lord Smoking Shell.
In the
premiere episode, “Jack the Ripper” (Wednesday, December 4 at 10PM), the
team heads to London, England on the trail of the real identity of one
of the world’s most notorious serial killers. While there, the team
talks to a Ripper expert and investigates new reports of paranormal
activity at the Ten Bells Pub and the Princess Alice – Victorian-era
pubs said to have ties to Jack’s victims.
Upcoming Killer Contact
episodes also explore the enduring mysteries of “Vlad the Impaler:
Dracula” in Romania (Tuesday, December 10 at 10PM); bloodthirsty
“Lucrezia Borgia” in Italy (Wednesday, December 11 at 10PM); the
reportedly occult-obsessed “The Hellfire Club” in Scotland and Ireland
(Tuesday, December 17 at 10PM); “The Mayan Empire” in Belize and “The
Butcher of Iquique” in Chile (Wednesday, December 18 at 10PM and 11PM
respectively).
Killer Contact is produced by Pilgrim Studios
with Craig Piligian and Mike Nichols serving as Executive Producers. The
team also produces Syfy’s long-running original hit series Ghost
Hunters.
