Lost Girl S05E05 Recap: It's Your Lucky Fae

Necklaces, flowers, gifts. You would think this would make Bo happy, but it doesn't. They're presents from her Daddy. Cassie is on a blind date from hell, when Bo calls about her gift from Hell literally. Bo needs insights, and Cassie has to put her off, because of her date. She agrees to tell her everything, over drinks tomorrow. Bo hopes there is a tomorrow, as Cassie gets back to her over talker. He's new in town he had told her, and he realizes that he is boring, and he wants to know more about her. She only has a douchbag cousin. He has a party girl sister, personality for days. She asks if she's single. Cassie figures that he's using her for her powers, and he turns down her reading which surprises her. He wants to order. Being an oracle doesn't usually lead to being lucky in love or life. Her date wants to change that.

Cassie takes him back to her apartment, describing her five year dream home. He claims his is the same, but his includes a dog that can open beer bottles with his teeth. He asks her if she can see the future, if she can see his kiss coming, as he lays it on her good. He's really good, but he leaves her hanging, claiming to be a gentleman. Cassie falls into a horrendous vision.

Tamsin sits at the Dal, wondering why Mark is working there. He's new to the area, and Trick needed the help. Bo arrives asking if they've seen Cassie, she was suppose to meet her there. They haven't, but Trick has a gift for Bo. Bo tears into the present, but it isn't what she was expecting. It's a finger that Alexander the fae carried, and a family heirloom. Tamsin is uncomfortable, and makes a quick getaway.

Tamsin walks with Lauren, she too forgot Bo's birthday. Tamsin isn't surprised that she forgot, but she is very surprised that Lauren forgot. Lauren has been busy sucking up to Evony. Tamsin and Lauren stop before a shop, trying to figure out the perfect gift. Seeing them bumble around, not knowing Bo makes me miss Kenzi all the more. The Cat is from the Emperor Kang dynasty. The shop owner claims that the cat brings the owner good luck. Tamsin is convinced, though Lauren thinks the knick knack is more appropriate. Tamsin makes a deal for the cat, and borrows the funds for it.

Bo calls to Cassie, but she doesn't answer. It has Bo worried, and she plans to go over and check on her. Tamsin and Lauren come rushing in bearing their gifts. Tamsin presents her stuffed cat, and Lauren her hideous frog, which she promptly drops and breaks. Lauren takes partial credit for the cat. Tamsin hands it over, telling her that the man said that it would bring her lots of luck. Lauren cautions her on putting too much stock in an external object bringing her luck. Bo tells the girls that she's off to check on Cassie, and Tamsin offers to go with her. Lauren offers too, but Tamsin reminds her that she has a thing she needs to attend. It takes Lauren a minute to realize what she's talking about, then its Tamsin and Bo off to check on Cassie.

The girls arrive at Cassie's but they get no answer. Tamsin wants to bust down the door, but Bo finds it unlocked. There's look, and wreckage everywhere. Tamsin moves into cop mode, thinking to get blood sample to Lauren, and to call in Dyson to help. It's either a crime scene or the worst dinner party every judging by the bloody ice cream scoop.

Mark continues to work his butt off, when the drums call. He takes a moment to play a little, getting caught up in the moment. Trick calls him away to sign in on the ledger. Mark eagerly signs the book, as Trick tells him that their signatures contain their true power. He accidentally rips the book, and Trick takes it away.

Bo finds an earring at the Dal she thought that she had lost. Dyson is on the case. Bo has called the other oracles. Tamsin worries about an oracle's powers in the wrong hands, she's called in Seymour for help. Bo is less than happy to see Cassie's cousin Seymour. They tell him that Cassie is missing, and the swarmy guy doesn't seem concerned. He's a soul eater he reveals to Bo, and not exactly beloved. Cassie emancipated herself from their clan rather than help them steal luck. He tells them that if they want answers they should talk to one of her computer dates. The girl was huge into online dating.

Lauren tells Dyson that all of the blood was the same type. She's got nothing else, and he hasn't heard anything else from Bo, so she goes back to baking her cake. Lauren tastes the ingredients, and finds salt instead of sugar. The balloons arrive. They were suppose to be delivered to the Dal, but that will cost extra. Lauren takes the balloons, and the man tells her that something is burning. It's Bo's cake. The cat certainly brought luck, just none of it good luck.

Mark sneaks a drink. Vex downs his, and tries to run off. Mark thinks he's trying to dash out on his bill, unfamiliar with Vex. Vex tries to let the kid off easy, telling him that he's a friend of Trick's. But Mark isn't taking that as a good answer. Vex calls him out on shorting the customers. Mark offers to buy everyone a round, which makes Vex happy, but not as happy as he's gonna be. The girls are giving them the eyes. Vex offers up some Rock, paper, guillotine, with the loser distracting the boyfriend. Vex loses, and Mark gets to go play.

Mark makes out with the blonde, offering that they could go somewhere nicer, but the other girl likes Trick's dank cellar. Whatever she's on the blonde wants some. She gives her a kiss, and Mark moves to get in the middle of it. Mark stutters as the Blonde throws him down, and gets to sucking. He likes what she's doing, and the other girl gets to stealing a book. The blonde shows her reptile tongue, and the Klepto comes in for a closeup.

Tamsin tries to get some good shots of Bo, when she starts purring. Purring? Tamsin gets to work on Bo's profile. The last person to message Cassie was Heratio55. They try to make her profile into the perfect bait for Heratio, and he instantly bites. Bo is surprised, and Tamsin claims it to be luck. Cassie calls Bo, but there's no one on the other end. Bo chalks it up to her phone dying. Bound and bloodied, it wasn't her phone that died, but it soon dies under a sledgehammer.

Mark comes in after his little rendezvous. The boyfriend isn't very happy about Mark's little threesome, and Vex goes to run interference for him, but Mark steps in on his own. He claims that he saved the guy's girlfriend a few time via mouth to mouth. The man moves to take a swing at Mark, but Vex mesmers him into hitting himself with a beer bottle and Mark follows it up with a well placed blow. Mark tells corny jokes while dogging the guys punches. Lauren arrives with Bo's cake. All of the balloons popped on the way over. She shows Trick the cake, right as the boyfriend is knocked into her. Lauren gets a faceful of the wrong kind of cake and Vex ends the fight.

Back in Trick's dank cellar/study Mark and Vex are in trouble. Dyson wants to know why he's breaking up a bar fight rather than looking for missing oracles. Mark and Vex find the whole situation funny, right up until he mentions that Trick's ledger is missing. Vex tells him that he barely knows the kid, and he wants Vex to stay away from his son. Mark has less than pleasant things to say. Dyson tells him that he has a birthright to claim, and whether he knows it or not, he'll have to choose sides soon. Mark chooses himself, thinking that you're either the boss or the bitch. Dyson points out that those are big words from a shifter that has yet to shift.

Bo waits for her blind date, and Tamsin brings her a drink. Its from the guy at the bar she tells her. Bo is tired of this whole luck thing as she laps up her drink. Tamsin looks at her curiously, but Heratio has arrived. He likes what he sees, a whole lot. Bo remains flirty, and he tells her that his goal to get her to kiss him by the end of the night. Bo continues her cat like antics, and she freaks a little. She tells Tamsin that something is wrong, all the while stress panting. Tamsin wants to pull the plug on the date, but Bo wants to find out where Cassie is. Heratio looks ready to go, and Bo goes succubus on him. She tries to find out what happened to Cassie, but Heratio insists that he just kissed her good night, and left her. Bo's arm goes furry, and she has to call off the date. Heratio is under her spell, and Bo has full on paws.

Bo shows her new furry appendages to Trick, Lauren and Tamsin, and its getting worse. Her eyes go catty. The cat is an idol. It gives good luck to its owner by stealing it from those who don't give it proper respect. Trick looks to reverse the spell, whereas Tamsin just wants to burn it. They can't though, otherwise the cat's spirit will devour Bo's. Tamsin is sorry, she should have gotten her a Yeti stripper like she wanted to. Bo rubs and purrs against her, before pushing her away. They need to calm down. Bo ponders using the luck to find Cassie. Lauren disagrees, as does Tamsin and Trick. They think that they should put the case on hold while they fix Bo. Cassie has been annoying but she's special. She's an oracle, and she helped save Dyson. The three reluctantly agree she should try to find Cassie with luck.

Bo blindfolds herself in her car, thinking that the luck will lead them in the right direction. Tamsin and Lauren aren't so sure. Tamsin tries to talk some sense into her. Its a little kamikaze for Bo, its a little kamikaze for Tamsin too. Lauren puts her foot down too. Bo tells them to trust her, and Tamsin jumps in, willing to trust. Lauren, not wanting to be left out haphazardly jumps in too. Bo crazily drives out of the trainyard, and thinks that she's found the place. Bo flips a coin to figure out the next direction. As she runs down the hill, it looks like she's sprouted a tail too.

Mark gets surprised by one of his threesome buddies. He's tense but glad to see her, hoping that she brought back the book that she swiped. He's sure it was her, but she claims to not know what he's talking about. He's in a crap storm he says. She tells him that after a storm is the best part. She shows him her powers, some wavy rainbows, and she's overly happy that it worked. It doesn't always. Mark tells her that he's a shifter, but unsure what type since he hasn't shifted yet, and he doesn't want to talk to his dickhead dad about it. The girl doesn't really like her keepers either. She tells her that she's not subserviant, but important.

Kitty cat Bo continues to lead the way. Lauren thinks that they should be at home taking care of Bo. Tamsin babbles on. She thinks that she and Bo are getting closer together, and not just because they're living together. Bo is going to break her heart, and hopefully soon. Lauren doesn't really care about that right now, her only thoughts are on Bo. But Bo has given them the slip. Bo continues through the forest. She stumbles into a hole, and lands on her feet. Bo has found Cassie, and two other girls, all chained up, and missing their eyes.

Back at the crack shack, Bo in full on kitty mode, whiskers and all, sleeps in a box. Tamsin tries to comfort her, but she bats at her with her claws. Dyson arrives with Seymour in hand. Looks like Heratio paid him for information on Cassie. Tamsin tells him that Bo checked him out. Dyson thinks that perhaps Bo didn't ask the right questions. Tamsin can't believe that he sold out his own cousin, but he points out that soul sucking doesn't pay the bills. Dyson remarks that not many people are lucky like Bo. Tamsin is slow to the take, but Seymour is intrigued as to what makes Bo so lucky. Tamsin tells him its her lucky cat, that imbued with an ancient spirit. Seymour is overly interested, and he takes the bait, sucking the soul of the cat. He runs off to Reno for some gambling. Bo awakens in the box confused as to how she ended up there.

Cassie lies in Lauren's clinic in recovery. Dyson goes to check on her. She woke up, and had to be sedated. They're doing all they can, but she's not sure how much they can do to repair the oracles without the eyes. Dyson understands, but he has more. He asks if she got a look at Heratio, she'd recognize him. He's one of the bodies from the elevator.

Bo stares at the hell jack in the box. Tamsin comes in in her robe. She admits that she's really bad at birthdays and pulls out a single cupcake. Lauren tried to make her a cake she tells her. Bo takes a bite, its the best thing she's ever tasted she tells her. Tamsin isn't so sure as she disrobes, wearing nothing more than a bow. Bo takes her gift.

In the aftermath, Tamsin notes that the girls must have hated her. She's beautiful, even when she's sad. She knows something is bugging her, but she doesn't want to get in the way of them. Bo admits that she found out that she was born in hell. Her father is Hades. Tamsin realizes that it was Bo's father that she sat across from when she made her deal. Well if that isn't a mood killer. Tamsin asks if she talked to her father, but she hasn't. She isn't sure it would make a difference. No matter how far she tries to get away, no matter how much good she does, he will always be a part of her. Tamsin realizes that the box is from Bo's father. Tamsin use to feel the same about Freya, but eventually she got empowered, she changed. Bo wants to find a way to separate her from her father forever. She knows he's trying to use her for something horrible, and she doesn't want that to happen, and Tamsin plans to help her ensure it doesn't.

Cassie cries out, and Lauren comforts her. She asks her to remember, so that they can find out what happened to her. Cassie saw too much. She saw everything, the beginning, the end. She did it, all the oracles did. They did it to themselves, they removed their own eyes. It was the only way to get it all to stop.

Heratio looks through the Dal's ledger until he finds the name he's looking for: Bo's, and he knows she's a succubus.

Galavant S01E02 Recap: Joust Friends

The comedy event continues with episode two, which promises more awesome beards, handsome knights, jousting and John Stamos. Can't say there's anything mentioned there that I don't love.

Isabella, Galavant and Sid enjoy an easy peaceful ride. It's been all too easy of a journey, but that''s about to change. Galavant stops the group, to investigate and is bombarded by attackers. They are of no match for Galavant, and after defeating them all the beautiful Madalena is declaring him her hero. He must have fallen asleep, because she's not the good guy as we've come to find. He tells her that he was coming to rescue her. He still doesn't understand why she chose King Richard over him. Richard asks him how he can be hero without any pants. Definitely a dream. Madalena and Richard yuk it up, and Galavant screams, like a castrated hyena according to Princess Isabella. Galavant awakens, glad his pants are still in place. He declares that its time to go, adventure awaits, and the singing starts. Sid grooms his knight, and they're off to save a woman who really doesn't want to be saved, set up by Isabella, who hopes to keep Galavant in the dark that she's working with the king. Another great song in the bag, ending with an out of shape Galavant lamenting over his hurting tummy.

Galavant continues to belly ache as they reach the crossroads. Galavant thinks its a good idea to hunker down for the night, but Isabella is quick to point out they have a lack of funds. Luckily Sid spots the sign for a joust.

Dinner time in Valencia. Madalena petulantly eats. Richard gets his food via cannon ball. Tim Omundson is utterly hilarious as he is fed by his chef to Gareth's dismay. Madalena leaves the table. He makes the pair of men promise to never start a marriage after a kidnapping. She's quite the pain in the ass. Garth suggests that Galavant isn't the King's issue, that he needs to butch up a bit. Richard thinks he's plenty butch until he utters tummy flowers and realizes the truth. Gareth takes the King to his room, and gets a good whiff of Testosterone. Gareth plans to give his King a makeover so he can show his wife who's King.

The trio head over to register for the joust, and they run into Galavant's longtime frenemie Jean Hamm. The registrar announces that Galavant had wanted to enter the joust, but they don't have the entrance fee. Jean Hamm mocks Galavant, and Sid offers up the priceless jewel of Valencia as the entrance fee into the tourney. Isabella refuses to allow the jewel be used as collateral, but the registrar accepts it, and places in the same category as the rooster. Galavant is in and Jean Hamm begins to make some your mama jokes, to Galavant's annoyance. Galavant prepares, and Sid has troubles strapping Galavant into his armor. She worries that her family and entire kingdom on Galavant's skill, which he may have left in his other armor. After Isabella's announcement of Galavant and his accomplishments, he's allowed forward to the final round on merit alone. Isabella's small reprieve earns Galavant an extra day to prepare.

Galavant struggles with his dummy. Isabella needs Galavant to win this joust, and she plans to train him. Galavant laughs off her effort, but Isabella proves she's worthy. Her father trained her well. She easily knocks Galavant's sword from his hand, and he wonders if she plans to just humiliate him. Galavant doesn't want to play. He admits that he's afraid. Madalena took the legs out from under him, and he worries what happens next time. Any man can get knocked down but a hero gets back up. Isabella puts him through a tough training montage, and eventually he's almost back, and in mouth watering condition. Meanwhile Jean Hamm is knocking down his competition, making it to the final round. Galavant disarms Isabella, and she declares him finally ready.

To make sure that he's ready, Isabella heads to Jean Hamm's tent and proceeds to get him drunk on absinthe.

Richard summons Madalena for dinner, though she's unsure she can stomach a display, but things have definitely changed. The table is intimate, tiny with room just for two. He's taking Gareth's tutelage well. He's more gruff with her, demanding that she sit, and even pouring her a glass of wine. He's manned up some as a proud Chef and Gareth look on.

It's joust time, the main event is finally here. Sir Jean Hamm is announced, and he's having trouble standing, while puking all over the place. Mr. Cheekbones himself, Galavant, is announced. He comes out, and tells Isabella he cannot move. He trained way too hard. The slowest joust in history begins as the horses walk towards each over. Both knights make contact, and both fall from their steeds. The announcer tells the pair that the first to their feet is the winner. Jean Hamm and Galavant struggle to their feet. Jean Hamm falls over, and Galavant stays upright until he's announced the winner, and Isabella leaps into his arms. He thinks that he may be ready to talk on King Richard, and Isabella nearly confesses about the trap, but Sid interrupts asking if they're eating the rooster or keeping him. They're eating him, and Isabella remains mum.

King Richard enjoys watching his wife eat. He's finicky, but she eats with zeal. She shares a story about how her parents forced her to eat her pet goat, and since she's never really thought about where her food comes from. Richard never ate with his parents. It's a little bonding moment, and they break out in song. Maybe the other isn't the worst thing ever. Isabella and Galavant are finding that they don't despise the other either.

King Richard thinks that maybe Madalena could grow to love him like nanny Pearl did. Madalena breaks it down, disliking that he's making her to be the bad guy. She tells him bluntly that Pearl only loved him because she was paid to, that he's unlovable. Richard is left alone and he runs to Gareth. He needs a hug. Gareth unused to giving hugs, having only given his father one when he killed him, nearly crushes his king.

Galavant S01E01 Recap: Pilot

Galavant is finally here, and I cannot be more excited. The melodies have been like an infectious ear worm, and it looks amazing. Seriously, is it legal to have so many fantastic beards on one show. I think the clear answer is no.

Galavant opens up with the song that played thousands of times during Comic Con, and I'm not sad to see it again as the handsome Galavant is introduced along with his lady love, Madalena, whom he loved long and hard. They were deeply in love and as Galavant went to get her a piglet, King Richard took a liking to Madalena, and he stole her. Now, its Madalena's wedding day, and only Galavant can save her as he rushes forward.

King Richard checks on his bride to be and makes it clear that once they're married they're going to do it. Madalena doesn't sound the least bit enthusiastic about it, but she doesn't correct him either. On a side note how fantastic is Tim Omundson's beard? And how nice is it to see his very silly side?

Galavant storms the castle, knocking aside knights and showing off his prowess. No one can stand in his way as he makes it through to save his lady love. Galavant interrrupts the King's wedding. He's willing to fight Gareth, Vinnie Jones, all night, and even all of the King's men, but it won't stop Galavant. He makes a flowery speech. King Richard can offer Madalena fame and fortune, but only Galavant can offer her true love. Madalena has a little something to say about it, and she's thought a lot about things since her kidnapping and she's choosing the fame and fortune, to the delight of King Richard. It makes it an easier life, but she hopes that she and Galavant can still be friends. Gareth steps in to take care of Galavant. King Richard pauses his wedding to kick Galavant while he's down, but the kick barely grazes Galavant, Gareth finishes the job instead.

One year later. Galavant's squire, Sid, tries to rouse him. When he was hired it was a most prestigious position, but its changed since Madelena. Sid begs him to take an audience. He brings in the beautiful Princess Isabella with a ridiculously long name. She tells Galavant a tale of woe. Her family was slaughtered, and her people captured. She offers Galavant a priceless jewel from Valencia, which is all they have left, but Galavant isn't interested. She asks what happened to the gallant knight of lore. After losing his lady love, he's let himself go, and he's not ready to find himself. He turns her away.

Two months earlier. Princess Isabella sits in her hideaway in the basement. Above her, is King Richard and his Queen Madalena listen to the awful jokes of their court jester. Madalena is enjoying him all too much, way too much. She tells her king that he needs to find out where the King and Queen of Valencia have hidden their jewel. King Richard thinks that he's done all he can, but Madalena snidely comments that Galavant wouldn't have stood for that. She's not exactly secretive about it as she shouts it when King Richard asks what she said. Madalena practically stamps her foot about wanting the jewel. She's definitely not worthy of Galavant, and she runs off with the court jester. The poor cuckold king has no clue. A noisy midday snack is delivered, and King Richard brings the young chef closer for a little heart to heart. He's killed the poor boy's father, and grandfather. He realizes that he's been a huge bully, but he's under a lot of pressure. His bride hasn't been as great as he thought she would be, and he wishes to kill Galavant and then some. Gareth forces everyone to take part in King Richard's odd little ditty about killing Galavant, genocide and winning his bride's love. Gareth points out that Galavant still lives though, and King Richard decides if he can't kill Galavant, then he'll buy his bride's love. He sets out to get the gem from the King and Queen of Valencia.

Galavant tries to drown his sorrows, but the local Tavern cuts him off. Broke, the gem catches his eye, and Galavant struts over to Princess Isabella and asks if he can buy her a drink. She refuses, and he tells her that she can buy him one, as he asks for her to continue her tale of woe. Two months ago. She opened the trap door to her hiding spot as King Richard questioned her parents. King Richard has killed many people, but he points out that he hasn't killed them, even though he's been fighting off a cold. King Richard laments that his wife is, well, she's demanding, though others have more colorful descriptions of her, and she wants the jewel. The King and Queen refuse to give it up. It's priceless. King Richard orders their death.

Galavant stuffs his face, and Sid is forced to fetch more drinks. Princess Isabella tells Galavant how her father use to tell stories of him, his skill in battle, his heroism. She wants to know what happened to him, and his backstory. He tells her that his parents were people of great love, they both loved and hated eachother. He swore off love. He read and trained, and bettered himself. He comes from a long line of lovers, and couldn't fight genetics. Eventually he fell in love, and he fell hard. Madalena fell softer. He tells Isabella he would love to help, but he's sort of out of the damsel in distress business. Isabella can't turn a blind eye to King Richard's actions. At the mention of King Richard, Galavant perks up.

Two months ago. When Isabella cried out at her parents demise, she was pulled from her hiding spot. The gem was recovered, as Madalena comes stomping in again lamenting how inadequate King Richard is compared to Galavant. Rather than tell her that he's recovered the gem, he goes with plan B. To save her parents King Richard tells Isabella to go and find Galavant, and tell him how King Richard has invaded her kingdom, sell the story, and offer up the jewel as payment. When Galavant refuses, tell him that King Richard was a cruel man and that she had to listen to the sounds of him making love to his Queen after which she would cry, and say how she made the wrong choice., and how much she loved Gals. Galavant eats up the story. Galavant is ready to fight. He tells her that they will leave soon. Isabella feels a little bad about stringing along Galavant, but she doesn't have much choice. King Richard tries in vain to prepare to face Galavant. The Queen continues to be spoiled, unimpressed and diddling the court jester and that ends the first chapter of Galavant.

So what did you guys think? Was it as good as you had hoped? I have tot admit that I loved it. It was just as I expected. Lucky for all of us, the next episode plays now and it features the delectable John Stamos!

The Librarians S1E6 - "And the Fables of Doom" Recap

A truck is thrown off a bridge in Washington, seemingly by a giant hand. The clipping book sends team Librarians to the scene of the crime to investigate. When the team discovers a giant fingerprint on the window of the truck, Jenkins tells them it may be a troll. They must get a sample or a picture during the daytime when the troll will be subdued. Eve and Ezekiel find a massive "rock" that seems to greatly resemble a troll, so they abscond with some pebbles from the mass.

Cassandra is woeful that Jake still doesn't trust her after her initial betrayal to the team, though he claims to be perfectly fine with working under their current circumstances. They are shocked when the local mayor out for a jog is running wearing no clothes, yet under the impression that he is wearing a new jogging suit given to him by his wife. The sheriff shares some other recent strange happenings to Cassandra and Jake who continue to put the pieces together.

After reuniting with the rest of the team, they hear chaos caused by a giant wolf wearing a frilly nightcap, which Jake takes down by throwing an axe at it. They realise that fairytales are coming alive and attacking people, meaning someone has weaponised fairytales. The team reconvenes with Jenkins, who sends them back out to make off with the wolf carcass so they can perform an autopsy. Upon cutting the wolf open, they find a shivering and confused young woman.

Jenkins determines that there is an old book that brings stories to life as it is read. As the book gains power, those stories can be changes, things can be added, and reality can be re-written. The stories become more powerful, more people and places can be swept up in them, and says that the story need a power source to bring it to life. Somewhere in the local hospital, there will be a pattern of people getting sick for no reason. (This particular brand of magic was also the cause of the Black Plague).

Eve and Jake make it down to the library, where the librarian is unknowingly in possession of the enchanted book. Meanwhile, Ezekiel follows an enchanted coin that keeps rolling until it stops in the room of a sick girl, Jamie, whom the local librarian had been reading to earlier. Ezekiel learns that Jamie got sick after falling asleep during story hour at the library. Cassandra is also receiving an increasing amount of attention from the females in the town.

Ezekiel has already angered the sheriff with his prior antics, but when he learns that Ezekiel had visited Jamie (his daughter) and had also taught her how to pick locks, he becomes enraged and threatens to huff and puff and blow the bar down. The sheriff starts to sprout fangs and is slowly turning into the big bad wolf. Eve also begins to hum (as well as having her hair down and appear to be particularly shiny and appealing), and Jake randomly has an axe appear in his hand as well as a bird come land in him. Jake is continuing his path into becoming the huntsman, Cassandra is Prince Charming, and Eve is a princess. Jenkins warns them that their being heroes doesn't mean that they're safe, as these are the original stories which are much darker in theme and content. The only person who escapes in every story is "the jack," the nimble rouge/luck thief who lives by his wits.

The team looks up and finds that Ezekiel is gone and the rest of the townspeople have all begun to turn into various fairytale characters. The book is getting stronger and the danger is growing. The team decides to try to get all of the townspeople, minus the wolves, back out into the library since they can't leave town the normal way because thorny branches have risen up out of the ground to block them from doing so.

Ezekiel returns to the hospital where the librarian is reading to Jamie and making her sick. Ezekiel tries to stop him but is unable to do so, as the librarian has been corrupted by the book's power. He had already discovered that reading from the book caused the listener to be drained of their life force and thereby strengthen the reader.

Eve calls Ezekiel and they swap information. Ezekiel must get the librarian to stop reading or everyone in the town will be slaughtered. A fight breaks out in the library as the team begins fighting the wolves. Ezekiel uses the luck he has by tossing the coin he had previously given to Jamie, which goes bouncing through the room, freezing the librarian in his place, and allowing Ezekiel to steal the book back and regain some power with a temporary spell. He gets Jamie to wake and has her tell the story she wants, with her happy ending.

Jamie says that the team didn't really die like the corrupt-librarian said because the huntsman (Jake) is actually a robot, the princess (Eve) is a ninja princess, and the prince (Cassandra) is really Merlin (an immortal wizard). Using their combined skills, they chased the wolves away. Jamie punishes her father by making him eat green jello, declares this the end, and the evil librarian is sucked into the book as the story finishes.

Team Librarians covers their track with a claim about chemicals and mass hallucinations, Jamie's health is restored and she is reunited with her father, who is willing to overlook things now that his daughter is better, though he finds that in hindsight it doesn't make much sense for a team of librarians to have helped them so extensively. Jenkins also collects up all the old books the librarian had. The book that had caused all the trouble is blank, save for just one page that has an illustration of the evil librarian. The rest of the team ponders how they experienced their alter-egos, and Ezekiel simply notes that he is awesome since the book had turned everyone into heroes whereas Ezekiel basically remained the same person. True that, Ezekiel.

The Librarians airs on Sundays on TNT at 8PM.

The Musketeers S2E1 - "Keep Your Friends Close" Recap

It's been ten months since we last saw the Musketeers and their arguably biggest foe, Cardinal Richelieu is dead. There's not a whole lot of delving into the who and the why, as we are instead introduced to Comte de Rochefort, one of the Cardinal's most trusted lieutenants. The Musketeers rather reluctantly save him from being hung, as they're not all that fond of Rochefort, but he claims to bear important news for the King.

Speaking of the King, he's a new "father," as his Queen has just given birth (but remember… that baby was actually conceived by an affair with Aramis). The King offers Captain Treville a job on his council but Treville's not fond of politics and thus turns it down. This does not please the King one bit, making him all the more ripe to be won over by the newly arrived Rochefort.

Constance is given a position by the Queen which will entail her living in the palace. She warns D'Artagnan to stay away from her. Aramis is able to steal a close-up glimpse at his son, the future King, and Athos warns him not to be so careless.

Rochefort is actually a spy for France's enemy nation and he is shown to be arguably even more ruthless than the Cardinal. He even slits the throat of a holy man who had overheard an incriminating exchange between Rochefort and Spain's ambassador Don Fernando.

The deceased Cardinal's spy in Madrid has news that General De Foix, France's chief military strategist has been captured. The king orders him to be rescued and the Musketeers and Captain Treville are thereby forced to work with Rochefort. Rochefort informs them that their orders are to not allow De Foix to remain alive if they cannot remove him from Spanish hands. While on the road, the group is attacked by a band of assassins as part of a plot organised by Rochefort to get rid of the Musketeers.

The Musketeers carry on with their rescue and reach the castle. D'Artagnan infiltrates the castle and meets Lucy, General De Foix's sister. Together, they reach De Foix and just as D'Artagnan is about to carry through on his orders to kill De Foix, they are interrupted by the rest of the Musketeers and Rochefort, whom Athos overrules by saying that De Foix's sister Lucy will be brought along to be rescued. De Foix also seems to know Porthos, though the circumstances of how and why are not yet revealed.

With a lengthy, well choreographed, and entertaining action sequence, Team Musketeers is able to get away. Rochefort does away with the Spanish prisoner they had taken while making it appear that he was trying to get away. De Foix is returned to the King, and Rochefort accepts the King's offer to work as a member of the King's court.

D'Artagnan confronts Constance for not pursuing her love for him and she chides him for not understanding that she is a woman living in a world built for men and that they would not be able to be married, and if they had any children and he died in battle, she would be left penniless and likely have to resort to prostitution to provide for them.

Aramis and Athos learn that Adele Bessette, the former mistress of the Cardinal as well as the woman who loved and was loved by Aramis, is now dead. Her grave is inscribed with, "Died For Love." They are also left with a cryptic message about the Cardinal knowing all of Aramis' secrets, which he can expose from beyond the grave (a thinly-veiled threat regarding Aramis' being the father of the Queen's baby).

De Foix also speaks in private with Captain Treville about Porthos. They apparently knew Porthos' father, and they had done something horrific, leading to the death of her mother in which she died of a broken heart after being abandoned in the slums. De Foix is insistent that the truth be revealed, and hopes to make amends before he dies (he is on the brink of death). Captain Treville, however, is less keen on doing so.

Finally, Rochefort is shown to be planning to try to drive a wedge between the King and Queen that will tear the country apart.

The Musketeers airs on Fridays on BBC One at 9PM.
