The Cinemax Action-Drama Banshee: The Complete Third Season Arrives on Blu-ray & DVD April 5

BANSHEESM: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON
Available April 5, 2016 on Blu-ray™ & DVD, Loaded with Exclusive Bonus Content

New York, N.Y., January 22, 2015 – Created by Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, the Cinemax® action-drama Banshee charts the continuing twists and turns that follow Lucas Hood (Antony Starr), an ex-convict who improbably assumes the identity of sheriff of the rural, Amish-area town of Banshee, Pa., where his former lover and partner-in-crime has been living under her own alias, Carrie Hopewell (Ivana Milicevic). This action-packed series has developed a devoted fan base of “Fanshees” who are hooked on the high-octane storytelling and compelling characters. Timed to its fourth and final season this winter, Banshee: The Complete Third Season debuts on Blu-ray ($34.98; includes free Digital HD copy) and DVD ($26.95) on April 5, 2016. The release is loaded with extensive bonus content taking “Fanshees” behind the scenes of the show.

Season 3 picks up a month after the Season 2 finale, when Carrie's father, gang kingpin Rabbit (Ben Cross), finally met his demise after a climactic church shootout. Carrie, now exposed and estranged from her husband and kids, remains in Banshee, working as a waitress by day while moonlighting with Lucas, Sugar Bates (Frankie Faison) and Job (Hoon Lee) on a variety of local heists. As Lucas finds it harder and harder to keep his true identity from his deputies – especially Siobhan Kelly (Trieste Kelly Dunn), now his romantic interest – he and the Banshee police force become embroiled in a new conflict between Amish gangster Kai Proctor (Ulrich Thomsen) and Chayton Littlestone (Geno Segers), the vicious, vengeance-minded leader of the Redbone wing of the Kinaho tribe. And as fists and bullets fly in and around Banshee, Lucas concocts a new scheme that could net his thieves a fortune – by robbing a decommissioned Marine compound housing millions of dollars.

Banshee S3E5 - "Tribal" Recap

The assault on the precinct is underway and Proctor is demanding to be released from his cell. His mother is still dying but Lucas and the other deputies must fend off the attack without the help of the state police since the phones are down. Billy believes the Red Bones want him since he was the one who killed Tommy. Lucas hires Bunker since he was at the station when the attack was underway and is ready to help them all out. Billy and Siobhan get the citizens in the station down to the basement but Proctor must remain locked up, despite the protests of his lawyer.

Chayton calls out to Lucas, demanding that Billy and Proctor be sent out and in exchange, everyone else will be spared. Lucas says he'll think about it, in order to buy time, and Chayton says he has just two minutes. Lucas then tells Chayton he won't send them out and Lucas then says if they leave, they will be allowed to live, warning him that if they come inside, more Red Bones will die. Billy is prepared to hand himself over, saying that it's tribal justice, but Lucas says if they're going down they will do so together.

The lights then go out in the station. Proctor claims he'd rather go out and face the Red Bones head on instead of waiting in the dark to die. Deputy Lotus says there's a backup generator in the basement so Lucas and Siobhan head down to get to it. Upon reaching it, they find it's almost out of gas  but they're eventually able to get the lights back on. The Red Bones unleash a barrage of bullets on the precinct and in the commotion, Proctor's lawyer scrambles to steal the keys and let Proctor out. He gets the keys in the lock but ends up shot in the head before he can do anything else. Proctor lets himself out and shoots a Red Bone in the head because he was choking out Assistant District Attorney Alison Medding.

Billy covers Lucas, who makes his way to a hole in the station that the Red Bones had shot up. Lucas gets some shots out and shoots two Red Bones, forcing them to retreat for now. Lucas and Billy push a cabinet in front of the hole, though Siobhan warns that this will not hold them off for long. The Red Bones use a truck to pull a gate open, allowing some Red Bones to get in but Lucas and Proctor shoot them dead, and the gate closes once again.

Things are tense between Alison and Kurt, who is also currently injured from a bleeding wound he got during the fight, as her father was beaten into a coma by some skinheads so she doesn't trust his appearance. Kurt shares how his father was abusive so he stayed away from home and had a stutter. Some local skinheads were the only ones that showed him kindness, even beating his father one time after he gave Kurt a black eye. One thing led to another and then Kurt was a full-blown skinhead. Alison tells him it's no excuse and Kurt says he knows that.

Deputy Lotus refuses to fight alongside Proctor and Lucas tells him to hand over his badge if he doesn't want to do his job. Lotus tells Lucas that he tried to do things his way but everything Lucas touches turns to blood.

Some Red Bones get in through the basement and Kurt fights them off. He's nearly killed after getting shot again but Alison saves him with a gun of her own. The team reconvenes in the basement and Proctor says he'll go out through the basement. Lotus doesn't want to let him walk out but Lucas says to let him go. Before walking out, Proctor says that if he doesn't make it, Lucas needs to stay away from Rebecca. If he does make it, they'll have unfinished business. Lucas agrees, and reminds Proctor to make the call (for less-than-legal reinforcements).

Proctor's mother warns Rebecca that it's not to late and that she should leave this house and find her own way. Rebecca appears shaken by the advice, though it's not entirely clear if Proctor's mother really said this, or if Rebecca simply imagined it.

Lucas and Siobhan seemingly reconcile, and consider having a future together. Siobhan wants the truth though, and asks for Lucas to start by telling her his real name, which he seemingly does by whispering it in her ear.

Billy grows pensive and then goes to uncover the hole so he can walk out and sacrifice himself. Siobhan implores him not to but Billy says it is the only way. Billy calls out to Chayton, prepared to sacrifice himself in exchange for everyone else's safety but Chayton says the time for negotiation has passed, and shoots an arrow into Billy. Siobhan tackles Billy and saves him from being shot again but this time fatally. She helps him up but it's not long before he can't move his legs, having gone into shock. The rest of the group are elsewhere in the station fending off the attack from the Red Bones who have made their way inside. Siobhan hides Billy and heads off to help the fight. Siobhan gets into a fight with a Red Bone and despite being injured by the encounter, is able to beat and kill him. It's then that we see Chayton walking towards her from behind.

Lucas leaves the Deputies who have successfully fought off the Red bones in the latest sweep. He comes upon Chayton who has Siobhan in a chokehold. Lucas emotionally pleads for him to let Siobhan go, lowering his weapon. A Red Bone comes up from behind and knocks Lucas in the head. As Lucas lies disoriented on the ground, he watches helplessly as Chayton snaps Siobhan's neck.

Proctor returns home to find that his mother has passed away. Proctor says a prayer as he cradles his mother's body. Rebecca walks in and watches, while back at the station, Lucas cradles Siobhan and cries for her death.

Banshee airs on Fridays on Cinemax at 10PM.

Banshee S3E4 - "Real Life is the Nightmare" Recap

Siobhan momentarily holds Lucas at gunpoint but ends up lowering her weapon and shouting at him to get out, adding that use needs time to think.

Job and Sugar team up to break into a secure facility and steal an algorithm Job will need. They're nearly caught but Job is able to get out in time without being detected.

Gordon is shown to be cleaning himself and his place up, likely to make a fresh start for himself. Carrie misses a parent-teacher conference and she gets into an argument with Gordon when he passes on the message that Deva isn't doing well in school and that they think she lacks discipline and structure at home. Gordon attempts to patch things up though, saying he doesn't want to play victim and instead wants to work with her on fixing things instead. It's unclear if he's trying to reconcile their relationship as a couple, but it does seem he wants at the very least for them to figure things out to give Deva more stability.

Lucas lets Job and Sugar know about Siobhan and they're far more alarmed by the news than Lucas seems to be. Job says Lucas should cut his losses and leave but Lucas doesn't want to leave. Job packs his things up, apparently ready to throw in the towel.

Deputy Lotus confronts his ex-wife Emily about her new job at Proctor's house. He thinks it's a bad idea to get close to Proctor but Emily is determined to do her job, which is to help the dying woman, Proctor's mother.

Deva is out with a friend and appears to be scoping out the place for its security, obviously taking Lucas' advice about how to properly prepare to steal. She has her eyes on a $75 video game that her brother Max has been wanting for months.

Emily offers Proctor the opportunity to talk if ever he'd like to get some things off his chest, noting how he seems to be so preoccupied being strong for everyone else. He immediately asks her if she'd like to sit down.

Carrie later quits her job and heads to a bar. It's not entirely clear what's happening, as she had seemingly just grown tired of waiting on rowdy customers. Mid-life crisis, perhaps? A guy gets her drunk and then gets angry when she tries to leave without paying up with some sexual favours and she opts to pull him into a back room and smashes his head into a mirror, after which she steals his jacket and motorcycle. Definitely a mid-life crisis. She later is pursued by a cop for speeding and tries to outrun him. She is able to get away by escaping into the woods, but it's only then that she notices that the bike is out of gas.

Burton and Rebecca go after the Red Bones who are transporting Tommy Litttlestone's body. After they run them off the road, they set the car up in flames, killing everyone inside.

Lucas patches things up with Deva by having a talk when he catches her ditching school, and their future now seems brighter, though he has to head off and take care of some police responsibilities. She is then shown to be breaking into the store she was scoping out earlier and accidentally sets off the alarm but is able to get out with the game. Upon returning home, she puts the game in her brother's room.

Carrie calls Lucas to pick her up and she admits that she feels trapped, and whenever it becomes too much she does these stupid, dangerous things. Lucas brings her back to her home and also tells her about Siobhan learning about his false identity. He notes that he might have to run off if she comes forward and they express concerns over Deva, but Lucas seems sure that she'll be okay, as she is strong like her mother.

Tommy's body, which has been burned and melted into the morgue bag, is returned to the reservation, where an emotional Chayton carries it out of the local police station.

Proctor gets bad news, as it appears his case will not be able to be thrown out, and instead will have to go to the jury. Following this, he gets a call from Emily that his mother has taken a turn for the worse. Lucas then shows up and attempts to kill him, as it seems as if Proctor hoped to do the good deed of killing him before skipping town. The two brutally fight, while his lawyer attempts to call reinforcements in. When Lucas finally gets the upper hand, he doesn't actually go through with killing Proctor. Deputy Lotus arrives and arrests Proctor for assaulting an officer.

The Red Bones do a traditional ceremony for Tommy. Ex-skinhead Kurt Bunker arrives at the station to see Lucas, who has come into the station along with Proctor. Proctor's lawyer is determined to tell Hood that a dozen witnesses can testify that Lucas attacked Proctor but Lucas simply tells him to "shut the fuck up." Proctor ends up in a cell that is next to another cell with Red Bones in it. Lucas sees Siobhan for the first time since their fight and they head to a back room to talk. Siobhan says she won't be turning him because even though she wants to, she knows doing so would also undermine all the good that the local law enforcement has done. Lucas assures her that what their relationship was not a lie and that being with her was the only time he felt safe. She is angry that he endangered her life and career and insists that he resign and leave town. But it's then that Chayton and his team of Red Bones arrive at the station in full war garb, weapons in hand, and begin an attack on the station.

Banshee airs on Fridays on Cinemax at 10PM.

Banshee S3E3 - "A Fixer of Sorts" Recap

Lucas is ready to go after Deva following his mishandling her attempt to reach out to him as her father but he is stopped in his tracks by FBI Special Agent Robert Philips. Philips arrests Hood for impersonating a police officer. He knows that Lucas isn't who he says he is. Philips has spent his career investigating missing agents, most of whom end up to be dead, but he was able to track Lucas and his real identity as a jewel thief, though we're once again left wondering what Lucas' real name is. Lucas is able to get free from Philips' custody by getting free from his cuffs and knocking him out but the freedom is short-lived as Lucas finds himself knocked out by a taser.

Proctor is still looking after his dying mother, who is now staying at his house. His mother gives him a pep talk about being able to be content in his life, finding love, and makes him promise to move Rebecca out of the house after she is gone. Kai expresses regret to the new nurse, Emily, over leaving his mother at the farm with his father, saying how she needed him all those years. Nola Longshadow attacks Proctor's home and gets into quite the altercation with Burton. It's an impressive fight as far as choreography is concerned, as it even moves into a car before coming back out again. Unfortunately, it's lights out for Nola, as Burton tears her voice box out. It's brutal, and we're left annoyed that the show's most kickass female had to die for some creepy, bow-tied henchman.

Following the fight, Burton attempts to stitch up his wounds and it's gratuitously violent in typical Banshee style. Emily walks in on it all and offers to help, which he cautiously allows her to do. We also see that he has several scars on his back. During his fight with Nola, we saw some flashbacks going through his mind of being viciously beaten by a man (not sure who yet) that he apparently killed. The origin of his lunacy, perhaps?

Job and Sugar are shown to be stealing some information from IDs at a secure building to help them in their next heist.

Lucas and Brantley wake to find themselves on a moving truck being transported. The reason for their captivity? Raymond Walton Brantley, the man whom Jason Hood was running form in Season 2. Brantley has them beaten and tortured, as he wants the money back that Jason had stolen. Despite Lucas telling Brantley that Lucas is dead, Brantley won't believe him and has his men carry on with the torture. Meanwhile, Siobhan grows worried by Lucas' disappearance. When she checks in with Sugar, he assures her that he'll turn up eventually; he always does. Eventually, Brantley comes to believe Lucas, who says that the money is back in Banshee. Brantley insists that they head back to Banshee and that Lucas must show him Jason's body and return the money. Brantley orders his men to bring Phillips out into the woods to be killed. Phillips attempts to get away but Brantley's men catch up to him. Lucas is able to get free from his restraints and kill Brantley by throwing him out the kill hole of the moving truck.

Chayton's younger brother Tommy rounds up some Redbones and together, they go and attack Proctor's strip club. Deputy Lotus happened to be in there when the attack began so he calls it in immediately. There's a bit of mayhem but then reinforcements arrive and a shootout ensues. The Deputies are able to kill all of the Redbones, and Billy Raven is the one to kill Tommy Littlestone when he tries to pull a knife of Siobhan.

While this shootout is happening, Lucas gets into a shootout of his own with Brantley's driver. He then steals a bike, heads to the woods, and kills the remaining of Hartley's men, Lucas appears to consider killing Phillips but opts to let him live instead. They even return their badges to one another. Phillips then shares some bad news. As an insurance policy, he had left an FBI file about Hood and his true past and identity at the Banshee Sheriff's Department. Phillips is apologetic about it now but the damage is done.

Proctor's father arrives at his house to pay a visit to his ailing wife, which Proctor allows. It's shortly thereafter that he receives word about the attack on his strip club.

When Lucas returns to his trailer, he finds an emotional Siobhan waiting for him, having learned the truth about Lucas from the file, asking him, "Who the hell are you?"

Finally, we see Deputy Billy Raven in the morgue with Tommy Littlestone's body, paying his respects, and performing some sort of Native ritual for the deceased by singing a song and leaving a token on his chest.

Banshee airs on Fridays on Cinemax at 10PM.

Banshee S3E2 - "Snakes and Whatnot" Recap

Colonel Stowe pays Carrie a visit at work but it's not food he's after, though he does sample her in the back before leaving her all riled up. Lucas asks Siobhan when they won't have to come into work using separate cars and she responds by hinting at their possibly moving in together at some point. Lucas doesn't mind her pushing a bit. As they reach the front of the station, a man named Kurt Bunker who is covered in Nazi tattoos is there to apply for the deputy position. He assures them that he doesn't hold those beliefs anymore and it's just a matter of tattoo removals taking longer than he'd like. He was born in Banshee and is back now and though they turn him down since the position has been filled, he is polite and asks them to hold onto his resume.

Proctor meets with an old associate, Mr. Cage, and has brought Rebecca along for the deal. Things get a bit heated when Cage's son Mark starts talking smacks about Proctor. Rebecca then loses it and shoots Mark in the kneecaps, enacting a shoot-out. Proctor's side is the one left standing. Cage bleeds out but Mark is the only opposing man still alive. Kai insists that Rebecca finish what she started so she goes over to Mark, points her gun at his head, and turns back to stare Proctor down before pulling the trigger.

Gordon seems focused on bettering himself and not relying so heavily on self-medication though he still seems a bit shaky. He tries to ask out Assistant District Attorney Alison Medding, who has been helping him with the case against Proctor, but she turns him down and advises him to get it together. He later calls a prostitute named Jenny but when she arrives, he regrets doing so and sends her away though he does pay her for coming over. He says that he thinks it's the end for the two of them, so it seems that he's still trying to stumble his way back to being a more-functional person.

Lucas, Carrie, Sugar, and Job are all meeting with each other to prep for the military heist they're plotting. Job finds that Colonel Stowe has been cooking the books, as the official books say the base is holding 9 million when really it's closer to 15. He also took part in numerous "nasty" black-ops and Job refers to him as "the bad motherfucker" sent in to clean up "all the other bad motherfuckers." Lucas notes that the up side is that if you steal from a thief, no cops will be called. Carrie becomes pensive, since they're talking about the man she has been hooking up with.

Proctor goes to visit his roots and finds that his mother is sick. Against his father's wishes, he insists on taking her off to the hospital. He learns that she is suffering from advanced pancreatic cancer and unfortunately, it's terminal. She has roughly one month to live and Proctor is advised to think about finding a way to make her last days more comfortable.

Carrie goes to visit Colonel Stowe and he tries to instigate their usual sexual shenanigans before Carrie insists that he stop and then she ends it. He asks if there's anyone else and she says there's no time. She needs to be home for her kids instead of sneaking out at night for booty-calls. She says what they had was great but it's time to get back to the real world. He seemingly keeps things civil but after she leaves, they show him sitting eerily still while creepy music is played so it's a safe bet that this is far from over. When Carrie gets back to her car, Lucas is lurking in her back seat. He says they can't do the job if she's involved with the target but she assures him she's ready and has just ended things with the Colonel.

Chayton is training his men in the forest and tells them about how Adolph Hitler's favourite game was "Cowboys and Indians," that he called the Russians "Redskins," and that he had found inspiration from the white man's ethnic cleansing of the Navajos. It's how he riles them up to prepare for the war that's brewing. He pulls two men aside and orders them to go retrieve Proctor and Rebecca. Chayton's brother pleads with Chayton to let him prove his worth, as everyone is apparently thinking that he's simply getting a free ride, but Chayton tells him to be patient.

Nola makes her return to Banshee known to Chayton. It seems that Nola had a drug problem, and Chayton had tried to help pull her out of that state. He feels compassion for her regarding her brother's death and she warns him that Alex died because he underestimated Proctor. He promises that she will have her revenge-blood but she doesn't want it on his terms, but on her own.

Lucas and Carrie do some recon work in preparation for the heist while Sugar and Job listen in. Meanwhile, Colonel Stowe viciously beats one of his soldiers for supposedly stealing money, though the soldier claims he didn't do it, and has him thrown in the brig.

Next, it's time for a sex/violence montage. Classic Banshee. While Chayton engages in some sort of Native ritual (that I truly hope is being done properly - and not as some horrendous stereotype), before engaging in a threesome with two Native women, Rebecca is out for a swim at Proctors' place. Once she gets out, she is attacked by the two men Chayton sent. She fights back but ends up knocked out. While one man hoists her over his shoulder, the other is supposed to go find Proctor. Unfortunately, Proctor's right-hand man kills him before killing the other, who falls into the pool on top of a still-unconscious Rebecca, before jumping in and getting her out.

Deputy Lotus is still hooking up with his ex-wife and she becomes angry when he leaves because he gets a call about the attack at Proctor's place. She's all mopey over him putting the job first and sends him off. Lucas also gets the call and heads to Proctor's. Lucas tells Proctor that he started this war when he went after Alex Longshadow and that Chayton will not stop coming after him. Proctor just wants Lucas to "do his job." He later brings his mother to his home where she will stay for her remaining time. Proctor hires Lotus' ex-wife, Emily, to tend to his mother. She'll be staying at the Proctor place while doing so. She gives Rebecca some ointment for the cut on her face from the attack, but it seems hinted at that perhaps Rebecca will get jealous over having another woman in the house.

Lucas takes Deputy Raven to the reservation. Billy Raven doesn't have many fans for showing up with a white man and in the same uniform no less. A fight breaks out between Lucas and Billy with some of the Native men until one of the sheriffs of the reservation, Amy, fires a shot in the air to break up the fight. Lucas insists on meeting Carl Yazee, chief of the reservation PD, and tells him about Chayton stealing all the military weapons. Yazee doesn't seem concerned with it, though Amy is shocked and upset which makes us think that perhaps she'll cross enemy lines to help out Lucas and Billy. Outside, Billy shares with Lucas that Yazee is a joke, Amy is the real deal and wants to make a difference. Oh yeah, they're definitely going to team up. Also we learn that Billy has two kids which makes us think that he's going to be a casualty of this battle and that does not sit well with us at all. Let him stay on the team!

Carrie is cleaning up and closing at the diner when the creep she had previously beaten up arrives with two friends because he's a misogynistic pig who couldn't handle having his ass handed to him by a woman who wouldn't put up with his sexual harassment. But before any fight can break out between these two parties, Nola waltzes in and beats him up again. He and his friends relent and leave and Carrie serves Nola some apple pie. The two bond and share a drink.

Deva goes to visit Lucas, wanting to connect. Lucas tells her that Gordon raised her and is her true father. She reminds him that he said he stayed in Banshee for her. He says he wanted to make sure she was okay and she says she's not before walking out hurt. Lucas feels bad for making a mess of things. Another knock comes at the door and when Lucas answers it, it's someone with some sort of weapon (a gun, of course) though we're not shown who it is.

Finally, we're shown Colonel Stowe eating a meal, naked, looking as deranged as ever.

Banshee airs on Fridays on Cinemax at 10PM.

Banshee S3E1 - "The Fire Trials" Recap

Banshee's back for another season of ass-kicking and all-out debauchery. So what better way to start things off than with a car crash and pursuit of Hando, the man responsible for Deputy Emmett Yawner's death least season, by Lucas Hood and his deputies, Brock Lotus and Siobhan Kelly. Once they corner Hando, they make it clear they're operating above the law. Commence the firing squad by these three officers. Bye bye, Hando.

As for the steamy hook-ups, we see Carrie Hopewell engaging in a casual motel hookup before heading to work as a waitress. Lucas and Siobhan's relationship is progressing steadily, while Kai Proctor and Rebecca have now fully gone THERE and are an in some sort of twisted, not to mention incestuous, relationship. Lucas still wants to nail Proctor for the Longshadow murder but Proctor had an alibi, and he also wasn't the one to commit the crime, it was Rebecca. Proctor is also having regular meet-ups with his mother, though we doubt their reconciliation would carry on this smoothly if she knew what was going on between him and Rebecca.

There's a new deputy, Billy Raven, who is taking over following the death of Deputy Emmett Yawner. Speaking of taking over, Chayton is back in town and engages in the "Fire Trials," which are a fighting ritual of sorts of the Redbones. He fights the new leader and wins, obviously, so Chayton's back in charge. "I've come back because I'd rather die fighting than to live like a slave in my own land. It's time we took something back." (Remind me again why it is that this is the bad guy? Stay woke).

Deputy Lotus has responded to a call about a lurker. As it turns out, this caller named Emily is a regular. Emily is Deputy Lotus' ex-wife and the two are engaged in a sexual relationship. But Lotus isn't the only one getting into mischief. Lucas and Carries daughter Deva's bad behaviour is only escalating. She's gotten a new tattoo and even breaks into a store with some no-good friends. Lucas catches them and sends the friends home but not before telling them to leave the stolen goods. He has a heart-to-heart with Deva that's unconventional. He gives her tips about breaking in… dare we say that Deva may be groomed to join the family business? Better to steal with the family instead of on her own, right? It's shown alongside Carrie doing an actual thieving job, albeit more professionally than her daughter did. Of course the conversation ends with Lucas managing to subtly make the point that there wasn't much point in this break-in, apart from maybe wanting a bit of attention.

Deputy Lotus pays a visit to Emmett's grave and has a drunken conversation with him that culminates in him saying he misses him. Carrie returns home and gets into a fight with her now ex-husband. He tries to talk down to her about her criminal activities and she rightfully points out that he is suffering from addictions. Lucas goes to drop off Deva at home and she asks him some questions about why her mother didn't try to find him, or if he had simply abandoned her. He tells Deva that there was no way Carrie could've found him without putting herself and Deva in danger and that she had simply done what was best to keep Deva safe. Deva asks Lucas when he knew that she is his daughter and he said it was from the first moment he saw her. He admits that he came to Banshee for Carrie, but adds that he stayed for Deva. After Deva goes back inside, Lucas is asked by Carrie's ex to just "leave me my daughter." Maybe he should focus more on cleaning himself up before trying to stake claims.

Rebecca steps out of Proctor's strip club to have a cigarette and ends up getting threatened by Chayton, who warns that they'll be coming for them. Chayton is then shown to be leading an assault on some Marines with a freaking bow and arrow (I'm sorry, that is some of the coolest ish I've ever seen… who pulls off wielding a bow and arrow in a gun fight? Chayton does!) The Redbones snatch up some weapons for the war they're planning. Hood and Lotus show up with guns of their own but Chayton still makes off in a truck full of weapons.

Lucas heads to the military base and meets Colonel Stowe, who is also the man Carrie was shown to be previously hooking up with. He gives Lucas a tour of the base, which also holds a large vault full of cash that seems to spark Lucas' attention. Stowe warns Lucas to not go after the Redbones because apparently the military will handle it (so basically History 101). Lucas then calls Sugar up to tell him about this score that has now sparked his attention.

But the episode doesn't end without us getting to check in on another favourite character, Job! Bring out the large guns and hand grenades and Job is still left standing. He gets a call from Lucas, who wants help hacking into the military network. So Job decides to head back to Banshee and meet up with Lucas and Sugar to talk about this next score. The next thing we see is Nola Longshadow in the room where her brother was murder, with revenge and grief burning hot in her eyes. Finally, Chayton is shown to be carving a design into his bow while his "soldiers" are handling the newly stolen artillery.

Banshee airs on Fridays on Cinemax at 10PM.

Banshee S2E10 - "Bullets and Tears" Recap

Flashback to a young Rabbit killing a man named Yuri after he admits to stealing from him. He later toasts with his crew, including Anastacia and Lucas. They discuss what is to be their last job for a while, after which they will go quiet. It's the Capitol Diamond job that led to Lucas' imprisonment. Lucas and Anastacia don't think it's a good idea, as the security at the place is tremendously high. Rabbit tells Lucas that he sees him as a son, since he trusts him to protect Anna each time they do a job.

Anna is brought home by Oleg, another henchman. He asks to come in and spend the night with her but she respectfully tells him no. When she gets inside, she hooks up with Lucas, who is waiting for her, having snuck in through the window. They're plotting stealing from Rabbit so they can run away together. Lucas insists he has an in, after which they head to a drag bar where Job is on stage, doing a fierce song and dance number. When an ignorant jerk heckles Job, Job cuts the music and tells them off. One of the jerks tries to get violent, but Job knocks him out with ease and grace. After the show, Lucas heads backstage and introduces Anna to Job. They head to a back room and discuss the upcoming job. Job has also helped to set them up with new identities and a getaway car.

Rabbit is approached by Agent Racini, who has just taken over the investigation after the previous one was found to be dirty. It's implied he was in cahoots with Rabbit. They stare each other down, puff up their chests, and Rabbit says that he will break him.

Lucas and Anastacia head to meet a gangster named Fat Al. He's a gun dealer, among other things. Lucas plans on calling in a favour. They fight their way through some men guarding entry to an underground club and do pretty well until the men bring out their automated weapons. They're brought to meet Fat Al and ask for a massive quantity of weapons. Al is willing to give it to them for free, as he once saved his life.

Lucas sparrs with Oleg, who questions him as to whether or not he plans to run. Lucas says he's not and then Oleg tells him he would find him if he did. When Oleg starts to get more aggressive, Lucas lays him out. They both laugh it off.

Rabbit and Anastacia have dinner. He asks what she has on her mind and she brushes it off. He becomes stern, questioning if she would keep something from him but she smiles and tells him no. Later, she tells Lucas that Rabbit knows. He tells her she is just reading into things. Anastacia wants to wait but he reassures her that he doesn't know. Lucas is being watched.

The team meets and maps out their game plan for the job. This goes back and forth with Lucas and Anastacia meeting with Job who gives them their new documents. They say their goodbyes, though Job won't show much sentiment on the surface.

Cut to present day and Lucas and Carrie prepare their massive stash of weapons. Job tells them a direct assault isn't the best idea and that they should just blow the place to smithereens. Job wants to go with them but Lucas orders him back in bed. Rabbit's men are also seen preparing their weapons. Job asks them how he'll know if they're dead. Lucas tells him that if he wakes up tomorrow and they're not there, that they're dead. Job shouts after them, "Like I'm really gonna sleep tonight!"

Back to the past: Anastacia is having second thoughts while Lucas is cutting his way past the gates. She says they can turn back and that they can be honest with Rabbit about their relationship. Lucas tells him he'll never let them and this is the only they can be together. She has a bad feeling about the job. Oleg is then shown to be calling the police on the duo while Rabbit sits looking sullenly at a photo of him with his daughter.

Back to the present, Lucas and Carrie begin their assault on the church, making their way past the first round of guards. They get inside and take out more men. They head into the main cathedral and kill more men as Rabbit's brother sits and prays at the front. Once the men are dead, he begins speaking to Carrie, saying she bears a strong resemblance to her mother. He tells her that they are not safe, and more armed men come out. He then says, "When a family goes to war, there can be no victory." He walks into the back and the pair are forced to lower their weapons. They then jump down and crawl off as the men being their assault. Commence a big fat shoot-out. Eventually, the pair runs out of bullets.

They flashback to remembering running after the diamond job went sour. They look lovingly into each other's eyes and Lucas tells Carrie to run like hell to the back of the church once he gets up, telling her to get back to her family. This conversation plays along with Lucas telling her to run all those years ago before he took the fall for her. Lucas plants a kiss on Carrie and pulls out his knife, running towards the men, prepared to commit suicide. But as he runs at them, they are all shot down by automatic rifles in the hands of Job, Fat Al, and more of Fat Al's men.

Fat Al pokes fun at Lucas for running at seven men with machine guns wielding nothing but a knife. Fat Al proposes that they come downtown for breakfast with him before Rabbit's brother comes out shooting with a machine gun of his own. Lucas shoots him dead and no one else is hurt. Fat Al tells him he wants to hear the story and Lucas promises he will. As the pair head back to find Rabbit, Job calls after them, "This time, make sure he stay dead!" Oh, Job.

Past Agent Racini meets with Rabbit and tells him about the diamond job. He knows that Rabbit was behind their being called in. Rabbit tells him to go, offering nothing up. As Racini prepares to leave, Rabbit tells him that someday he will lose his patience and the wall the keeps Rabbit at bay will come down. Racini says that that is what he is hoping for.

Lucas and Carrie come across Rabbit, who is sitting with a bottle of booze. Carrie tells him that his brother and all the other men are dead. He says that there is no way out of this life and says that just for a minute, eternity can wait. Carrie lowers her weapon and sits next to her father and Lucas joins her on the other side with his weapon still up. Rabbit says that he got married in that courtyard and says that Carrie's mother was very beautiful. He couldn't stop shaking and thought he would pass out. Something broke in him when she died. He apologises to Anastacia and says he hopes his death can give back some of the peace he stole from her in life. She removes her ammo of all but one bullet and stands back up again. She hands him the gun, telling him, "Time will tell." She kisses him on the forehead and says goodbye before walking away. Lucas stays and Rabbit tells him to remember that in his future, there is a bench like the one he is currently sitting on waiting for him. Lucas tells him to go to hell. Rabbit fires the gun and it's light's out.

Lucas and Carrie nurse their wounds and reflect on the carnage from the church. Law enforcement descends on the church and the agent looks over Lucas' file. Lucas and Carrie drive back to Banshee and we flashback to Anastacia first learning she was pregnant. She called Rabbit to tell him off for turning them in. He says that she lied to him but he forgive her (and not Lucas). She says that she will never forgive him and that she is pregnant with Lucas' child and that he will never know it before hanging up. Rabbit is enraged (but when was he ever not?) Anastacia is revealed to be with Job, who presumably helped her finish her building a new life. Lucas is shown in prison, getting scoped out by his future rapist. Anastacia moved to Banshee with Gordon after meeting him as his waitress. Gordon tells her that he thinks they will be very happy there.

Back to the present, Carrie returns home to Gordon. She tells him that Rabbit dead. Lucas delivers the same news to Bates and they toast. Lucas returns to Siobhan and it's clear she's still terse with him. She tells him that Emmett left that day. She asks why he came there and he says that he needed to see her. She asks what he's going to do now and he embraces her.

Rebecca visits Alex Longshadow and sprawls herself out on his desk. He tells her there can be not question of her loyalty and she says there won't be. Then the sexual shenanigans begin. While Alex goes down on her, Rebecca pulls a gun from her purse. She prepares to pull the trigger but before he can, Alex throws her against the wall. He then throws her back onto the desk and says she can't kill him because he's "the thunder man" (seriously?) As he strangles her, Rebecca pulls out the knife he had in his belt and stabs him right in the jugular. The blood gushes from his wound and spills all down the front of her desk. He pulls the knife out and continues moving towards her. She backs up and reaches her gun, which she uses to kill him. She then stands over his body and says, "I've got all the thunder I need." Fantastic line.

Meanwhile, Emmett and his wife are gunned down by skinheads in a van.

Proctor returns home and Rebecca shows him a photo of a dead Alex Longshadow. He asks who did this and she says that she did it for him. He's then shown to be showering and catches Rebecca looking at him before she walks off. He comes out stark naked and finds her in his bedroom. She hugs him and it's clear that the Banshee writers are just loving drawing out and building up this creepiness.

Lucas returns to the station and Lotus returns his badge to him. Deva comes to visit Lucas and says, "Hello, dad."

In San Tholis Parish, New Orleans, an underground street fight takes place with onlookers waving their wages about. Chayton Littlestone is the victor of the fight and he lets out a ferocious roar. When his opponent gets back up, he brutally beats the man down before delivering devastating blows to the man's head and snapping his neck. He collects money from some men and gets a call from his crew. He learns of Alex Longshadow's death and tells his crew to pack up. When they ask where they're going, Alex replies, "Home." Goodbye Rabbit, looks like we've got a new Big Bad!

Banshee will return on Cinemax in series 3!

Banshee S2E9 - "Homecoming" Recap

Job follows after someone in a church but is caught and taken prisoner by them. He is questioned by the leader of this group but gives up no information. The leader leaves and tells the others to torture him. But Hood unleashes a can of whoop-ass and escapes. He shoots people, runs out, encounters a room of "priests," shoots more of them, before continuing his run and when he finally makes it outside, he gets into another fight with a guy whom he easily takes down and what happens next? He's hit by a car. Seriously.

Carrie is reconnecting with her husband and children. She apologises to her husband for lying and says that sometimes living with the lie long enough makes it feel like the truth. Lucas meets with Emmett, who is no longer wearing his uniform. Lucas tries to return his badge to him but Emmett won't take it back. Lucas tells him there are rules and then there is what's right. Emmett plans to head down to Florida to "see what it feels like." Emmett tells Lucas that though he has fooled everyone else, he hasn't fooled him. Lucas asks what he means, likely thinking his secret's been found out, and then Emmett replies that Lucas is a good man and it has been an honour working with him. Awww, this bromance is ending just when it could have began.

Proctor's creepy right-hand man, let's call him Specks, visits the lead skinhead in the hospital, who at first pleads for more morphine until he realises who it is. The man shuts the blinds and unplugs the guy's morphine. Specks tells him Proctor will no longer be in need of his services. Skinhead pleads for mercy but Specks strangles him to death instead. He then heads to the strip club in search of Julia, the stripper who talked to the authorities. She's in her dressing room preparing for another night of dancing when she's visited by Rebecca, who warns her about the threat on her life. When Specks gets to the room and picks the lock, strangling cable still in hand, he finds the room empty.

Bates visits Proctor in jail. Bates tells him that Lucas doesn't consult with him and Proctor questions whether he would have told him even if he did. Frankie says he has known Proctor since Proctor was a child but Proctor declines their connection, saying he'll be coming after Lucas when he gets out and that if Frankie gets in the way, he'll be taken down too.

Julia asks Rebecca why she is helping her and she says she knows what it feels like to be trapped in your own life. Rebecca tells her to get her son and run, which she does. Lucas learns of this from Siobhan. Alex Longshadow visits Rebecca in one of Proctor's meat factory and expresses his concerns over how Proctor's arrest will effect him and his tribe. He tells Rebecca that he will be helping the authorities to take Proctor down and that it's time for her to make a choice. When she asks why he's getting her involved, he responds, "I like you." And then they make out. Well that came out of nowhere. She plays along but after he leaves, she wipes her mouth in disdain.

Later, Proctor meets with his lawyer, who is doing everything in his power to get him out. Rebecca has also filled them in on Longshadow's intent to take him down. His lawyer steps out, allowing Proctor time to speak with Rebecca. After she leaves, he has a surprise visit from his mother. She apologises for not protecting him and blames herself and Proctor's father for the fact that he is now behind bars. She tells him that his crimes are her crimes and he becomes emotional. She asks if she may visit him again and he agrees.

An agent visits the church that we previously saw Job infiltrate. He questions the priest that had ordered Job tortured and we learn that he is Rabbit's brother. This agent was the one that questioned Lucas when he was arrested for the diamond heist. After he leaves, we see that Rabbit is there with him in hiding. He says he had hoped to be stronger when facing Lucas again but now he has no choice, as the authorities are closing in. His brother says it was a mistake to send the assassin after them but Rabbit replies that the only mistake was her failure. We also see Job in the hospital and they have yet to identify him. He tries to get out, saying that they will kill him but the nurse forces him back into bed, saying that he has a concussion. The brothers are on the lookout for him and are confident that they will find him.

Deputy Lotus meets with Gordon and tells him about the exploded meth lab. He tells him that the day before it exploded, he had been out there with Lucas. They are trying to uncover what Lucas is up to and it's yet another obstacle that Lucas will have to keep an eye out for, once he learns about this threat.

Carrie speaks with Gordon about when she first learned the truth about her father. She didn't know anything was out of the ordinary until she was 11 and saw a newspaper with a story about him. Gordon assures her there will be plenty of time for her to share everything with him.

Lucas and Siobhan discuss Emmett. Siobhan can't believe Emmett would have lost it but Lucas believes that he made a conscious choice and that everyone reaches a breaking point where they will do whatever they need to to protect their loved ones. They then get a little frisky but are interrupted when Lucas receives a call from Job who fills him in on what has happened and needs Lucas to come find hiim. Siobhan is upset by Lucas just leaving like this and she (maybe) breaks up with him over the fact that he has too many secrets. Lucas then visits the station where he finds Brock sitting in his chair. He tells him he needs to go out of town for a yet undetermined amount of time. He leaves his badge on the table and Brock asks him, "Who the hell are you?" Lucas just says goodbye.

Carrie and Gordon are having reconnect-sex but are interrupted by a knock at the door. Gordon answers the door and Lucas asks to see Carrie. Gordon is furious but Carrie comes downstairs and asks him what has happened. He tells her Job has found Rabbit and that he's hurt. Lucas tells her he's going after him and Carrie insists on coming. Gordon throws a tantrum like a belligerent child and throws his anger at Lucas, who walks off, telling Carrie she can come or not but either way, he's going. Gordon angrily chases after him and takes Lucas' gun, pointing it at him while Carrie pleads with him to put it down. Things continue to grow more heated until Carrie blurts out, "He's Deva's father." Gordon is stunned and puts the gun down. Lucas walks away and Carrie promises to tell Gordon everything but she has to go first and either kill Rabbit or die trying.

In the car, Carrie tells Lucas that either Rabbit will die or both of them will and Lucas agrees with the sentiment. We then see both sides preparing for battle by cocking their guns. The bad guys head to the hospital dressed as priests and Job appears to be asleep (or sedated) in bed. Carrie and Lucas also arrive at the hospital and Carrie passes by a priest but recognises the spider tattoo on his neck. They shoot at each other before ending up going in different directions. Seriously, how did no one hear the gunfire in a hospital?

Job wakes and attempts to knife the person approaching his bed but it's Lucas who grabs his wrist. Lucas sees a shadow and knows that someone is coming. He ends up in a fight with that bad guy while Carrie ends up in a shootout with the other bad guy in the main reception area. The security on site calls for backup and nearly apprehends Carrie but then he's shot dead by the bad guy. Lucas is able to shoot his bad guy dead while poor Job looks like he's going to have a heart attack. The other bad guy grabs one of the hospital workers (seriously, why is it a woman? Such a cliche), and tells Carrie to come out or he'll shoot her. They talk in Russian (I think) as she gets closer... close enough to shoot the guy in the head.

She reaches Lucas and Job and downstairs, law enforcement has arrived, including the agent that questioned Lucas and questioned Rabbit's brother. He passes by Lucas and the other who are disguised as patients, all of which are being evacuated, and once he realises who it is, he hollers and tries to chase after him but it's too late; they've escaped.

They're set up in a nice hotel room somewhere. Job is recuperating on bed and suggests that Lucas get in touch with a man with whom they had previously been associated with to help them take down Rabbit. Rabbit's brother delivers the bad news about his dead men and the failed attempt to kill Job. Rabbit notes that he spent 15 years searching for his daughter and now she is hunting him. He asks his brother if he really believe in god and he then says that god always felt like something men made up to feel less alone. But now, he is more alone than he has ever been. Now, instead of wishing for god, he hopes he doesn't exist. If he does exist, he will have no peace whether dead or alive and his sins will follow him beyond the grave.

Specks visits Rebecca and tells her he doesn't trust her. She replies, "I don't give a shit."

Lucas and Carrie go out on the balcony and look out at the city, no doubt internally reflecting on what's to come.

In a post-credits scene, Gordon looks at a photo of his family, whilst smoking a cigarette, honing in on Deva.

Banshee airs on Fridays on Cinemax at 10PM.

Banshee S2E8 - "Evil for Evil" Recap

Anastacia and Job are doing a job but another alarm has gone off. While fleeing, they encounter Lucas who is shocked to see them but sends them off. Shortly afterwards, Deputy Lotus and Yawners meet Lucas, who tells them that he hasn't seen the perpetrators. Afterwards, Lucas meets with Anastacia and Job at Frankie's bar and questions them about their working as a duo. Anastacia argues with Lucas but eventually admits that the money was for Max. Lucas says he could have helped but Anastacia walks out.

Procotor meets with Alex Longshadow to discuss the fees he owes him while Rebecca sits outside playing with the strippers' jewellery. After Alex leaves, Proctor's right-hand man tells him that the explosion was caused by a cell phone detonator. Rebecca joins their room and Proctor tells her that Lucas caused the explosion but he doesn't seem too concerned with what he sees as small-time incidents. His second-hand man tells him that one of his slaughter houses lost power over the weekend and that the back-up generator had been disabled. All of the meat has gone bad and Proctor learns that someone hacked the server and shut down that particular area. Proctor's temper is rising and he exits his office with his man right behind him.

Proctor approaches Lucas in Frankie's bar and Lucas feigns ignorance about the explosion and the slaughterhouse. The stand-off is tense and little is said before Proctor angrily storms off. Frankie tells Lucas to warn him before he decides to kick things up a notch.

Things are still tense between Gordon and Deva, who has yet to forgive him for his neglect. He promises to do better but she appears unlikely to believe him until he proves himself.

Lucas and Siobhan re-visit the stripper who had previously given up information on Proctor and she says that she once saw some men putting crates into Proctor's basement. She doesn't know what was in them nor does she know anything about what's in the basement. She is concerned for her safety and tells them to leave before heading back inside. They don't have a warrant to get in there but it's likely Lucas will find a way to get in there nonetheless.

The skinheads from the previous episode harass Deputy Yawners' pregnant wife, questioning her on when she became a traitor to her race (she is white, Yawners is African-American). She smacks one when he refuses to leave her alone and he retaliates by punching her straight in the nose. She falls to the ground and another of the skinheads kicks her straight on the baby bump. The other skinheads chide him for the action (since when do skinheads have morals?) and they drive off. Witnesses approach her unconscious body and call 911.

Proctor questions Rebecca about Jason but she doesn't have anything to reveal except for his name being Jason. Proctor doesn't understand what could have caused Lucas to react so severely to his death. He says that Lucas is desperate and has nothing substantial to come after him with. Rebecca commends him for his restraint.

Deputy Yawners visits his wife as she is being wheeled in to surgery. He asks her what happened and she says that the men who attacked her had shaved heads, tattoos, and knew him. She says she is scared before she is brought in for surgery. Deputy Locus and Siobhan warn him to not go after the skinheads, saying that they will go after them instead. They remind him that his wife needs him and Siobhan tells him it will be okay.

Lucas sneaks into Proctor's place to have a look around in the basement and finds multiple guns and other weapons, along with some files and religious relics. Rebecca catches him as he's headed out, but when she doesn't do or say anything, Lucas simply leaves in peace. Lucas tells Menning, the ADA, he has a witness who won't come forward and testify, and he tries to get a warrant issued.

Lucas returns to the station as the deputies have just brought in the skinheads and locked them up. Lucas is told about Yawners' wife being in the hospital and is understandably angered by the news. He tells the deputies that after they have booked the skinheads, he needs them to help him raid Proctor's place - he has been issued the warrant.

When they arrive at Proctor's place, Lucas "discovers" the hidden room behind the wine cellar and Proctor throws a fit. He is restrained by the other officers present and is promptly arrested for having numerous weapons without permits. Proctor tells Lucas he is "fucking dead," and Lucas looks smug from this victory.

Yawners is told his wife is going to be okay but she has lost the fetus.

Proctor seeks to find a way to either bribe or threaten the ADA but his lawyer advises him that their best option is to attack the legitimacy of the warrant and their C.I.'s claim to have seen the weapons. Rebecca, who is sitting in on this meeting, says Juliet's name. After the lawyer steps out, Proctor send his right-hand-man out to kill her.

Lucas visits Yawners and tells him that the skinheads are currently locked up in custody. He says that they will not get away with this and also informs him that Proctor has been arrested. Yawners' wife wakes and he goes in the room to see her. He tells her that she's going to be fine and she correctly guesses that she has lost the baby. He tries to reassure her but she ends up reassuring him, saying that this is only a test. He reassures her that it's going to be okay, before heading back to the station.

Lucas visits Alex Longshadow to tell him of Proctor's arrest, and also informs him that he has a substantial amount of information on Alex's tribal casino. He offers to help him get Proctor out his business, in exchange for his helping Lucas with the case against him. Alex has always wanted to keep things quiet, but he agrees with Lucas that he's been in the dark long enough.

Yawners brings out various weapons from the evidence locker. He beats up two of the skinheads using both a candlestick and his own brute strength and the lead skinhead (though not the one that kicked her) tells him that they've had enough. Yawners puts on a pair of brass knuckles and tells the other skinhead, who says he's neither ignorant nor sorry, that if he can get past him, he can go free. A brutal fight ensues and the skinhead appears very close to death.

Siobhan berates Lucas for lying to get the warrant and that it has put their careers and Julia's life in danger. Lucas tells her she can ask any questions she wants but they're interrupted by a phone call from Brock. They head down to the station where they find the injured skinheads, who are sent off to the hospital. The deputies aren't angry with Yawners, but are concerned about the consequences he'll have to face. Lucas tries to tell him he didn't know what he was doing but Yawners says that he knew exactly what he was doing. He says he's dealt with guys like this his whole life and that he had gotten good at bearing it but this was the time he couldn't let it go. He says if he could go back, he would do it again and again even though he knows that it's a sin. He questions what type of Christian this makes him. He reveals that when his wife first got pregnant, his internal reaction was a question of how they could raise a kid in a town like this, where all the good inevitably gets swallowed up by the bad. Yawners turns in his badge and name tag.

Banshee airs on Fridays on Cinemax at 10PM.

Banshee S2E7 - "Ways to Bury a Man" Recap

Rebecca sits with Proctor and watches in horror as Jason's body is fed through a meat grinder. Though it's not explicitly stated, the ground meat comes out while she flashbacks to having sex with him and his being murdered.

Lucas arrives at Jason's room but he's nowhere to be found. He checks the room and has a bad feeling about this unexplained disappearance. He knows for certain that something is wrong when he finds Jason's hidden stash of cash still in the room, and then hi father's watch that Lucas had returned to him on the floor. When he relays the news of Jason's disappearance to Frankie, Frankie tells him he saw Jason speaking with Rebecca the previous night.

Lucas visits Proctor's home to question Rebecca. She admits to having sex with him but claims not to know him. Lucas can tell that Proctor was the one that killed him but Rebecca won't give any answers to support that theory. Lucas tells her that she had her chance and now if Proctor goes down, she'll go down with him. Later, Frankie warns Lucas that it's dangerous to go after Proctor but Lucas says he'll take his chances. Job also visits them and says that he has been unable to find any information on where Rabbit is hiding out. Lucas seeks the counsel of Deputy Locus on what he would if he were to go after Proctor. Locus tells him if he were sheriff, he'd start "shaking his trees," until something of use falls out of them. Locus is keen on aiding Lucas in going after Proctor.

Proctor goes after members of the council and threatens them and their families to not vote against Alex Longshadow in the No Confidence Vote.

Deva finds her brother Max on the floor, having a serious asthma attack and repeatedly tries to call her father. He doesn't answer, as he is drunk and indulging his licentious appetites at Proctor's strip club. She has no choice but to call an ambulance.

Lucas and Locus bust the strip club. When Lucas finds Gordon in the back room, he tells him to sneak out the back so he won't be brought in with the dancers and clients. Gordon becomes belligerent, and demands to know if Lucas is sleeping with his wife, which Lucas denies. When Gordon strikes him, he and Lucas get into a fight, which of course Lucas easily gets advantage of. Deputy Siobhan breaks up the fight and when Gordon sees all the missed calls on his mobile, he takes off.

None of the dancers will surrender any information about a prostitution ring in the strip club. When Proctor learns that his main security guard let the police come in and take the girls without an arrest warrant, he beats him to death.

Gordon arrives at the hospital and Deva furiously throws a fit at him, cursing him out, while Carrie sits and watches. They receive the news that Max's condition has worsened and it appears as though the insurance won't cover it.

Lucas is able to get one dancer to talk but she hesitates to give a formal statement until Lucas gets her to trust his ability to keep her safe. She gives the name of a previous client named Sharp that used to be a driver in Proctor's ecstasy ring. Lucas visit them with Lotus and Yawners. Sharp and his crew are skinheads and begin harassing Yawners, who keeps his cool... until one of the skinheads strikes him, after which he and Louts unleash an ass-whooping on the crew, minus Sharp. When Sharp tries to flee, Lucas chases him down and threatens to break his arm until he answers gives up the location of a factory stop on the route for the ecstasy ring. They visit the factory but agree that they cannot explore it further until they get a warrant.

Job gives Carrie her cut from their last hit and she asks him to do a job with her alone (so they can get a bigger cut). He refuses, until she says that she needs the money for her son's medical bills.

The vote for Alex's No Confidence does not pass. The leader of the vote, George Hunter, is disappointed in the other council members for allowing Proctor to intimidate them and for Alex to have partnered with him in the first place.

Lucas, Job, and Frankie invade the factory late at night. They steal one of the trucks that is part of the ecstasy ring and restrain the driver. They crash the truck into the main factory building and Job rigs it to blow. Once they are safely outside, Job calls the bomb to set it off and it does not go off. After Frankie teases him, Job stands up to go back to take a look at the bomb but it is then that it goes off. The crew stands back and watches the building burn.

Lucas flashes back to a conversation he had with Locus, who confesses that the people of the town have been waiting for someone to take down Proctor for a long time. He says that he had wanted to do it himself, but now he doesn't mind it being him. Though he didn't and still doesn't think Lucas is much of a cop, he now believes he is serious about taking Proctor down.

In a post-credits scene, Locus drives to the factory and is shocked to see that it has been destroyed.

Banshee airs on Fridays on Cinemax at 10PM.

Banshee S2E6 - "Armies of One" Recap

Alex Longshadow finally agrees to partner up with Kai Proctor because he wants him to ensure that he is not voted out of his position as chief. He is conflicted about compromising his values but still gives him the names of the other counsel members.

Jason is given his new IDs but is hassled by an English mobster demanding money while Frankie and Lucas are still with him, alone in the bar, paralleling the show's beginning in which the real Lucas Hood was killed. Guns are drawn, the English man's muscle is killed by Frankie, and Lucas fights the man who still manages to get away. Lucas insists that he tell him everything regarding what got him into trouble.

Lotus sneaks into Lucas' place and snoops through his things.

Deva is having driving lessons and when two teenage girls in the back seat begin gossiping and making snide comments about her and her mother, Deva gets angry and begins speeding before bringing the car to a halt. When her father shows up, he is angry at her for being wreckless, but is sympathetic when she reveals that they were speaking ill of her mother. When one of the other girls' fathers begins yelling at her, Gordon defends his daughter. Carrie visits Max and spends time with him, much to his delight. Lotus shows Gordon a photo of his family that he had found in Lucas' place. Gordon is upset but Lotus reminds him that he was the one who asked him to investigate Lucas.

Lucas spots the Englishman outside the sheriff's office. The man tells him he knows that Lucas has fighting skills that are learned through experience, rather than formal training. He says that he knows that Lucas is Jason's father, and that he will therefore not give Lucas up. Lucas offers him a bribe to leave and tell his boss that Jason is dead, which the man accepts.

In Proctor's strip club, Gordon is still drinking and lusting his wounded psyche. Rebecca walks in on Proctor receiving fellatio from one of the dancers and they have creepy eye contact as it goes on.

The Englishman goes back on the deal and kidnaps Jason. Lucas realises that the man is likely to have done this and catches up to him. They fight on the middle of the road while Jason is locked in the trunk. Lucas manages to decapitate the man via a truck passing by.

Gordon arrives home drunk and Deva helps him get up the stairs to his room. Max catches them and asks if he is okay. They end up in a group hug on the floor while Gordon becomes emotional.

Lucas returns the real Lucas Hood's watch to Jason. He gives him a train ticket and tells him to head north till he reaches Canada. He tells him that he will drive him to the station the next morning and reminds him that people only get one second chance. Deva meets Carrie in a diner and begins to ask questions about her past. Jason visits Frankie's bar to thank him and have another drink before he leaves. He spots Rebecca and Frankie warns him that she's more trouble than she's worth. Eventually, Jason hooks up with Rebecca while Lucas hooks up with Deputy Kelly. However, Proctor interrupts Rebecca mid-hookup, and has his muscle kill Jason. He warns her that she's either with him or not. They leave and Proctor's muscle cleans up the room and gets rid of the body. The scene overlaps with shots of him flash-backing to being handcuffed and whipped. He is meticulous and behaves rather oddly, and when he leaves the following morning, we see that he has missed Jason's watch - the one Lucas just gave him.

Back at the bar, Job pops in to visit Lucas and Frankie in time to share a drink. Job has just returned from New York with the diamonds. He wasn't able to get rid of them because they're fake. Rabbit "fucked him hard" - the diamonds that he served fifteen years for stealing were nothing more than a handful of glass. In a post-credits scene, we see an open field in which the Englishman's head is nestled amongst some long grass.

Banshee S2E5 - "The Truth About Unicorns" Recap

Throughout his episode, a tremendous number of dream sequences are utilised to convey thoughts, desires, etc. Carrie is released from prison and Lucas is there to pick her up. As they drive back towards town, Lucas notices that someone is following them. They head into town to have some lunch and they bond over their shared experience of being locked up. They seem to enjoy being close though they never outright engage in any public displays of affection. More than once, Lucas spots a car following them. They also scope out a potential place to rob, analysing its weak spots. When Lucas spots the tail yet again, he informs Carrie of the situation and they briefly split up so he can grab the car, circle around, and pick her back up. He is prepared to pull out his concealed weapon if necessary. When he approaches the car that was following him, it is actually a 40-something year old woman who asks him for help loading her groceries.

Lucas drives Carrie to a house that was their "dream house" before he went away to prison. He has bought the property and they stay there for the night. Lucas shares his concerns that it might be best for him to leave Banshee some time soon. He wanted to stay because of her and Dana but he sees now that he may be being selfish and longing for something that will never be more than a lost dream.

The next morning, Lucas becomes suspicious and heads outside with his weapon, telling Carrie to stay inside. He finds Agent Racine eavesdropping on them and brings him inside. He knows that Rabbit visited Carrie while she was inside and informs them that he wants Rabbit because he went after him as a young Agent, was too hasty, Rabbit's lawyers destroyed his case, and Racine's informants got killed. Racine blames himself for all the deaths Rabbit has caused since then. Racine wants to team up with Lucas and Carrie but they tell him they don't trust him. Rabbit then drops a bomb on them - he knows Lucas isn't actually Lucas Hood. He was there when he got arrested 15 years prior and had actually recognised him when he came to Banshee. They still don't know his real name, though. They found the real Lucas' body and matched his DNA. In private, Carrie tells Lucas that Racine can't be allowed to leave alive but Lucas says that enough people have died over this. "No more."

Just when Lucas has decided to help, a bullet shoots through the window, killing Agent Racine. Lucas and Kelly drop down, staying still when the first round of bullets stop. They shoot back before heading outside, a curtain catching fire on their way out. We see the sniper reload their weapon, crawling through the high grass, as do Lucas and Carrie. Lucas scares some birds, giving away his location and both he and the sniper stand up. They shoot at each other till Carrie gets the sniper's attention, shooting them when they turn around. Lucas and Carrie approach the body, noting its struggled breathing. When Lucas reveals the sniper's face, it is the woman who had asked for help with her groceries. He pulls down her collar, finds a "spider" tattoo, and says, "Rabbit." She tries to pull a knife on him but Lucas turns the knife back on herself. Lucas and Carrie stand up and watch the house burn.

Lucas and Carrie drive back to Banshee and they note that Rabbit will never stop until they are both dead. Carrie is back in a motel room and Lucas returns to the bar. He fills Frankie in on what happened and Frankie tells him that people like the two of them build their own bars and create cells no matter where they are. He tells them there are ghosts that just won't let them be, to which Lucas responds, "Fuck that." In a post-credits scene, we see Lucas punching a punching bag, training for the battles headed his way.

Banshee S2E4 - "Bloodlines" Recap

Carrie dreams of her release from prison. She returns home and reunites with her children. Lucas appears and asks where Anastacia is and her children ask the same thing. Anastacia walks out of her house and she and Lucas smile at each other before Carrie wakes, still in prison.

We see the Native Americans walking and singing for Lana's funeral. Lucas formally introduces himself to Nola and they discuss Tommy Littlestone, with Lucas saying that he was only questioned, and the fact that Chayton is still locked up as a suspect for Lana's murder. Nola says that Chayton is a killer but is a purist and would therefore never have killed Lana. Lucas remains skeptical of his innocence. He asks if she has any more information but he does not.

Back at the jail cell, Chayton scolds Deputy Yawners for being a disgrace to his race (Deputy Yawners is African-American), stating that whites tore his ancestors from his land yet now he wears their uniform. Yawners replies that he lives with himself just fine by getting scum like Chayton off the street. Lucas returns to the station and he and the other deputies discuss further plans for the investigation. Meanwhile, Nola scolds her brother for looking weak.

Back in prison, Carrie calls her husband but he ignores her call. She leaves a voicemail asking for forgiveness and says that she will not survive losing him and the children. Lucas spots Deva out with some misfits and the concern he has for his daughter is apparent. He heads to the motel where Jason Hood is staying. He brings Job and informs him about Jason needing a new identity.

Alex Longshadow meets with Proctor and the meeting is understandably tense. Proctor advises Alex that the way to be a successful leader is to be feared but Alex dismisses this. Alex says that they'll find his nephew and Proctor makes a threat against anyone who harms Solomon. When Proctor insults Alex by stating that his sister is tougher than him, Alex attacks him. They fight in the middle of the restaurant before Alex holds a shuriken to his throat. The manager of the establishment threatens to call the sheriff so they stand down.

Lucas follows up on a lead by visiting a runaway Amish boy named Daniel Moses. He tries to run, thinking that they want to take him back to the Amish community. Daniel didn't know that Solomon was missing and he brings Lucas to the place he is staying at. He has several books and Lucas learns that he wasn't allowed to read on the farm. He would sneak books back and hide them in a crawl space. Danny tells Lucas that a teacher brutally attacked him when he caught him reading "Lord of the Flies." The scene goes back and forth with Rebecca visiting her Amish friend that she was supposed to meet in the woods in the previous episode. She questions her about what it was she was going to tell her and she tells Rebecca about the same teacher Daniel is telling Lucas about, whose name is Jonah.

Lucas visits Jonah and learns that he lives alone, after his wife died. They never had any children. Lucas questions him about Solomon and when he asks about his hitting any of the children he speaks, he denies it until Lucas mentions Danny. He claims that Danny attacked him and that he is sorry for his actions, telling him to relay the message to Danny that he should come home. Lucas questions Jonah about a leg injury and Jonah claims it is an old wound, but when he points out that it's still bleeding, Jonah attacks him. They fight and Rebecca comes in, and helps Lucas during his fight though she is struck in the process. Rebecca getting slapped has happened way too many times on this show, to the extent that viewers are likely to become desensitised to violence towards her. She's a girl, not a punching bag. Procter shows up as Lucas is repeatedly burning Jonah, trying to get answers from him. Procter asks to be left alone with Jonah in order to question him.

Job speaks with Bates about Jason. Job thinks the best course of action would be to kill Jason in order to cover their tracks but Bates believes that Jason is just a young boy looking to start over. Job threatens Jason, telling him that the help they are giving him is not to be exploited, nor is the enormity of creating a new identity to be taken lightly. He tells him that if he screws up this gift and shows up again asking for another handout, he will personally shoot him between the eyes.

Proctor brutally tortures Jonah while Lucas and Rebecca stand uncomfortably outside on the porch, hearing Jonah's screams. When Procter comes back, he tells them about a piece of property that Jonah has in which Solomon is locked away.  The three of them head off to the property and find Solomon bloody, battered, and tied up. We flash back from the point of view of Solomon and see Jonah walk up and kill Lana before attacking Solomon and taking him away. It looks like Jonah is an even more vicious, Amish version of Chayton. Members of the Amish community arrive and Solomon is reunited with his parents. The reunion is also slightly awkward since they refuse to speak to Rebecca. Procter argues with his father, stating that their praying and cowering did not yield results. His father states that God brought Solomon back to them, but Procter tells him to go see what he did to Jonah and that God had nothing to do with Solomon being found. Solomon hugs his sister goodbye and she tells him he is going to be okay.

Deputy Yawners and Deputy Kelly have Chayton in the back of their squad car and set off for Jefferson County, where Chayton is being transferred to. During the ride, Chayton begins to chant and begins headbutting and eventually kicking the barrier between him and the Deputies. One kick hits Deputy Yawners in the head, and as he is the driver, he crashes and the car flips repeatedly.

Carrie calls Deva but she does not answer as she is getting high. She says that she loves her and promises that when she returns, Deva can ask her anything and she will answer honestly. She just wants another chance.

In the bar, Jason tries to hit on Rebecca, who is nursing her grief with a drink. She states that any other night, she would have told him to get lost. They end up having sex and during the act, she flashes back to the day she was shunned. Lucas is congratulated on his win for finding Jonah's killer. It would appear that no one is going to bother him for the clearly excessive wounds on Jonah. Deputy Lotus informs Lucas that no one has heard from Yawners and Kelly. At the crash site, Chayton tells Kelly to tell Lucas that he will see him soon. It's a powerful scene, as he asks, "What is it with white people and chains?" It calls back to the weight of all the countless crimes inflicted on Native Americans for the entirety of American history. Chayton smears his blood across her cheeks and is met by an armed motorcycle squad of Natives. They all raise their weapons and warn Yawners to drop his weapon when  he raises it against Chayton, who leaves with them but not before tossing his chains at Yawners.

Lucas shows up to where Deva is with other teenagers getting high. He tells them all to go home but takes Deva out for lemonade. They speak briefly and it's a sweet scene between the two. Job listens in on the conversation and immediately deduces that Deva is Lucas' daughter. He warns Lucas that it is dangerous for him to stay put, as he is putting his loved ones in danger, including Deva. Lucas tells Job to sell the diamonds, implying that soon he will leave. He then spots Kelly outside and meets her, concerned about her being cut up and bloodied. He puts his arm around her and says that he will take her home.

Procter visits Alex and brings him Jonah's teeth that he removed from Jonah as a peace offering. This is also the first time Alex and Nola hear about Lana's murderer being found and reprimanded. After he leaves, Nola says that this doesn't change anything but Alex would rather have peace for the time being, believing it to be better for the good of the tribe. Nola is furious and they argue. Alex sadly tells her that she does not belong with the tribe after "what she went through," and she solemnly agrees. Afterwards, she sneaks into the sheriff's station and murders Jonah, staying long enough to watch him die. On the way out, she and Job pass each other and they compliment each other's outfits - seriously.

In prison, Carrie is told she has a visitor and it's none other than Rabbit. He is in a wheelchair and hooked up to an oxygen tank. Carrie states that she is not surprised to see him and Rabbit says that being hard to kill is a family trait of theirs. Rabbit says that he sees her mother in Carrie and speaks about how he courted her away from another man when they first met. He claims that love is insanity and that this is the last time the two of them will see each other.

In a post-credits scene, we see Rabbit sitting in a limousine, breathing deeply into his oxygen mask before stopping, crumpling the mask in his hand, looking to his right, and smiling sinisterly. It's a safe bet that it definitely won't be the last viewers will see of Rabbit!
