Back before Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter was released there was buzz that Seth Grahame Smith's other literary mash-up would be produced. Star names were thrown about, but nothing came of that, until now.

Just like its main antagonists, “Pride Prejudice and Zombies” is a film that refuses to die, and looks like it may have risen again from the dead. Variety is reporting that not only is there a director (Burr Steers), but that Lily Collins is in negotiations to star. Natalie Portman was attached to the film previously, but will now serve as a producer.

The book follows the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England who are faced with a new challenge — an army of undead zombies. Collins would play the Elizabeth Bennet character.

Darko Entertainment and Panorama Media are producing with Panorama funding.

The event marked the first time a major motion picture had its debut screening for troops deployed in the Middle East.

We had a great time watching the movie, meeting the cast and more importantly showing them why we are out here supporting operations in the 5th Fleet area of responsibility. On this new poster our honest Abe, looks less presidential, and a lot more badass, which isn't hard to do since he's notonly carrying an axe, but also walking atop a burning train. Hmmm, I don't seem to remember that in the history books, but it doesn't deter me from wanting to see the flick.

As awesome as that announcement is, where the heck is Alan Tudyk. Yeah, yeah, I know he's not the actual star of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, but he's fantastic on panels. As of right now none of the stars of either movies are set to be there, but there is still time so that could change.

EW has the pictures from the upcoming Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I, for one, cannot wait. Not only do we get to see our 16th president kick some major butt, none of the vampires seem to sparkle (sorry Kellan, but its true).

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is set to hit theaters June 22, 2012. And trust me when I say that these vampires aren't going to be the hot, sensitive type, that eat poor bambi instead of the young supple human flesh it really desires.

“It’s not a sermon in any way, but it is interesting to look at vampires as the all-encompassing, unspeakable, unknowable evil,” says Benjamin Walker, who stars as the bearded slayer-in-chief. “This evil moves among us, and maybe lives next door. It’s an ideology that we don’t fully understand, but they live by it.”

The movie is based on the best-selling historical/horror mash-up by Seth Grahame-Smith and directed by Timur Bekmambetov, who directed the fast paced Angelina Jolie movie Wanted. So while there will be humor, and well vampires, there will also be real events. The vampire story is interwoven into the history we already know.
