Once Upon A Time Recap S3E22 (Finale): There’s No Place Like Home

The unlikely trio travel together. Snow tries to hide her face, she’s an outlaw. Charming asks about Snow’s necklace, stealing it. She has dark fairy dust inside it. She tells him that she’s saving it for someone, and he suspects it’s the Queen. He asks how she incurred her wrath. The Queen believes that Snow ruined her life, and she did. Snow stops the boys before the gates, she has to do something first, they’ll enter in at the evening.

Hook and Charming over a bondfire. Charming has doubts about marrying King Midas’ daughter. He always thought that he would marry for love, and now it seems to just be a business contract. He’s disillusioned about the whole love thing. Hook tells him that when he meets the right girl, his whole opinion will change, he knows that his has. He’s in love with “Leia,” bnut he’s unsure if she feels the same way, and her parents don’t like him either. Charming figures that their opinion will change adter they learn his risks he took to save her. He hopes that’s the case. A girl walks out of the woods, its Red, she’s come to help them at Snow’s request.

Emma toys with the engagement ring. She worries that she’s ruined everything, and that her parents already think she’s dead. If her parents never fall in love, she’ll never be born, a world with no savior. She notices something in the straw, it gives her an idea. She picks the lock and gets free. Marian urges her to hurry and leave, but Emma can’t leave her behind.

A wolf takes out the guards. Charming and Hook take the remaining ones, but Emma has ruined Hook’s dashing rescue. Worse of all, she’s freed Marian, who is suppose to die. Emma returns the ring to charming, and they set out together.

Regina toys with her red apple. If Marian survives what does that mean for Regina and Robin? Snow tries to sneak up on Regina, but she’s not scared of Snow or fairy dust. Snow tells her that’s its dark fairy dust, and Regina is intrigued. She doesn’t think that Snow has it in her, but Snow tosses the dust at her. Regina stops it instantly, and is ready to make Snow suffer. Snow tells her that it was a mistake, that she was a child. She wasn’t trying to cause her unhappiness. Regina doesn’t care, and orders Snow to die. Even if Snow dies, she tells her that the kingdom will never be hers.

Emma, and the others look for Snow. They spot her being drug out to die. They cannot stop her. Regina roasts Snow at the stake as Emma and the others watch. Emma cries by the fire outside. Hook tries to comfort her, telling her that he learned after his brother’s death that they have to live in the here and now. That doesn’t make sense to Emma. Emma shouldn’t be here with Snow’s death. Snow has to be alive, they just need to find her. Emma springs to her feet, and she swats at the bug that is flyi9ng around her. Charming stops her and Hook from squashing the bug. He tells her about Snow and her dark pixy dust, and that she could have used it at the right moment. The bug seems to be saying something, and none of them speak bug. Luckily the Blue fairy does. She arrives, and sees through Emma and Hook’s disguises, but allows them to keep their secrets. She breaks the dark magic, and all seems to be on the right path.

Red says her goodbye to Snow. Snow almost begrudgingly thanks Charming. It was the right thing to do. She offers to fill his canteen. The pair are slowly coming together. Hook and Emma ponder what to do with Marian. She isn’t supposed to be there, and her being alive poses a problem. They decide to take her with them back to the future, but she doesn’t trust them. They have to knock her out. Charming realizes that Snow stole the ring, and he sets off after her, which would be perfect, except before Snow used the dust to save Charming, but now she’s used it all up. History repeats itself, The trolls have Snow and Charming, Charming causes a disturbance so Snow can get away. Snow comes back for Charming, bluffing her way to his safety. Her bluff was enough, and Charming was impressed by her. Hook and Emma find that her parents did not need their help, and from there it all goes according to plan. The ring isn’t Snow’s style, and in that moment, Charming falls in love. Emma sheds a tear watching her parents fall in love. Hook notices that they’re heading away from each other, but she knows that’s how its suppose to happen, they stubbornly fought their feelings. Stubbornness runs in the family Hook notes. Emma checks the book, it’s restored.

Regina makes an example of the trolls that failed her. She squashes them beneath her boot, she will destroy her happiness no matter what.

Emma and Hook return to Rumple with the good news. He can’t open the portal, and he’s crafted a potion to forget so that he doesn’t change his past. The only one who can open the portal is one who went through it with the wand. He gives her the wand, and puts them into his vault where he puts things that he cannot handle. Hook knows that Emma can open the portal, that she has the magic, but she isn’t sure yet. He claims that she wants to live an unmagic life, but she doesn’t. Seeing Snow, and have her not recognize her was too much. Being close to her parents, and having them look at her like a total stranger, with so much distance was the worst. Henry wasn’t bringing her back to break a curse, he was bringing her home. Storybrook is her home. With that revelation the wand lights up, her magic is restored. She opens the portal, and Rumple stops her. He needs to know the future. She admits that he finds Neil, that he died to save all of them. Rumple thinks that he can save his son, but Emma begs him not to. Neil loved his father, and she loved him. She begs him to not make Neil’s sacrifice for nothing, and asks that he drink the potion. He drinks it, and Emma goes into the portal. Rumple forgets everything. She and Hook are home. She asks Hook to fill in Marian.

Emma goes to tell Snow and David that they aren’t leaving. They’re staying in Storybrook, and she finally calls David dad. Emma shows them the book, revealing that she’s Princess Leia. Her parents are both shocked and pleased. David announces the name of the baby. He names the baby Prince Neil, and it brings tears to many eyes. Emma heads outside to see Hook. She wonders if everything went back to normal. Hook muses that it did, because he doesn’t remember her kissing him in the past, or he would have come after her. She’s a hero. Emma muses that he’s a hero too. She asks him how he came after her, he outran the curse with the Jolly Roger, and bought a magic bean. He used his ship to save her, if that doesn’t scream true love nothing does. She kisses him.

Belle is escorted into the woods to marry Rumpelstiltskin. Jiminy officiates. Belle opens up with her vows. She thought she lost Rumple so many times, and has realized that she didn’t spend her life losing him, but finding him. Rumple never thought he would love, he was an enemy of love until her. She brought the walls down, brought her home. Emma and Hook remain kissing. Regina walks down the street with Robin and his son as Rumple continues his vows. Belle loves Rumple despite his flaws, finding the good in his darkness. Regina and Robin kiss in front of Granny’s before going in. Marian recognizes the Queen, freaking out. Emma calms her, and brings her over to meet Marian, still unaware who she is. Before they can meet, Robin sees Marian, and Regina’s world implodes. Emma didn’t consider the consequences, and Regina hopes she didn’t bring anything else back. Something else did come back through the portal. It’s bottle opens, and liquid pours over the symbol. From the liquid rises a girl of frost, its Elsa! Think she’ll want to build a snowman?

Once Upon A Time Recap S03E21 Snow Drifts

A little girl receives a Mickey doll, heading off to a new home as other girls solemnly watch her leave, as Emma sadly watches another girl find her home but not her.

Now Emma daydreams while her parents hold their new baby. She still doesn’t know the name of her brother, and they haven’t announced it yet. There’s a little ceremony that they plan to uphold. Henry comes in telling her that he’s been looking for an apartment for them and Emma is a little shocked. Emma isn’t ready to commit. She thinks that the Charmings are stalling on the naming of the baby.

Robin and Regina celebrate the returning of her heart over some wine beside a fire. He kisses her, and she’s overjoyed. She never thought she would have love again. He admits that he felt the same after the death of his wife, he was the cause of her death. He would have walked though hell to be with Marian again, but he’s let it all go. Regina understands that, she was the cause of Daniel’s death too. She couldn’t open herself up to that, was too afraid to. She tells him that Tinkerbell brought her to a tavern, showed her the man who she was to love, and would love her, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it. She never saw his face, only his tattoo, it was Robin. He thinks it was serendipitous, that perhaps it was about timing, and now the timing is right.

Gold looks over his dagger the real one, before hiding it away. Belle returns the dagger, she fears carrying around too much power, wants to put it in the vault, but Gold tells her that it doesn’t belong there, that he cannot put it there because in her hands he trusts her to protect it. He turns her attention to their wedding plans, and she tells him the good news that her father is giving them his blessing. If Belle forgives him, for kidnapping her long ago, then he forgives Gold/Rumpelstiltskin too.

Grumpy is glad that everyone is back from being a flying monkey, especially Sleeping Beauty, considering that Aurora was pregnant and all. Thankfully she didn’t have a monkey baby. Henry reads to the baby the story of how his parents fell in love. The pair saved eachother equally before they fell in love. David was rushing towards his wedding to Abigail at the time, and Snow was running away from everything, and then they crossed paths and everything changed, both of them dragging their feet the whole way. Hook notes that Emma is just as bullheaded, which peaks everyone’s interest, and where she and Henry will live becomes the big topic. Henry doesn’t want to go back to New York, but it’s complicated. Regina wants answers that Emma isn’t ready to give. Hook goes after her, with Henry’s book to remind her. David tries to comfort them that it’ll be alright, she’s just stubborn. There’s a problem on the horizon, a portal is open.

David runs to the jail, but Zelena is gone. Regina took her pendant, so she should be powerless, unless Rumple did something to her. He claims that with Belle having his dagger she could curb any homicidal tendencies. Rather than pointing fingers, David wishes to see the how, and goes to his camera for help. Rumple does a little magic altering, and the tape shows Zelena turning herself into porcelain and breaking. Regina figures with her death it released her magic, opening the portal. Rumple cautions everyone to stay away from the portal, a trip to the past could be catastrophic he warns.

Emma ignores David’s calls when Hook catches up. He delivers Henry’s message, home is here. Emma wants to keep Henry safe, but Hook thinks its all nonsense. She has defeated so much, all her, but still she keeps running. He asks her what she’s looking for. She looking for home. New York isn’t home, it was all false memories, but Emma thinks it can be home. Hook thinks here can be home, asks why it can’t be. The magic, the fairytales, all of it isn’t a part of her, she’s not in it. She thinks that if she has Henry then they can build a life somewhere and be happy away from the craziness. She was never apart of anything. When she was a kid she ran away, never missed any place, so she keeps running. She was once told that home is a place when you’re away you miss. She’s looking for that place. Emma notices the portal, and goes to check it out, Hook follows it. Emma knows its Zelena’s time portal, that her death must have triggered it. Hook wants them to turn back, but she cannot. They’re sucked towards the portal. Hook’s hook saves them, but Emma’s grip falters and she’s pulled into the portal. Rather than abandoning her, Hook goes in after her.

They’re back in the Enchanted Forest, a wanted poster establishes the when. It’s Snow’s wanted poster. They’ve arrived before Snow and Charming have met. They’re trapped in the past, but they still have Henry’s book with them. So far everything is still there. This is just the reason that Emma wanted to leave Storybrook. Hook tells her to keep her wits about her, and they have to figure out a way out of the past without a Dolorian. The Evil Queen’s carriage sends them running. Regina threatens the people, demanding their help. Geppetto offers her what she wants to know, if she will tell them. Regina gives them an example on what helping Snow will look like, unmasking a woman. Hook stops Emma from rushing in to save her. They cannot change the past, or it could change their presence. Hook tells Emma she needs to look the part, and they steal some clothes off the line. She looks like a sexed up Briar Rose. Hook approves the look, and believes that it’ll help reduce the chance of her making a lasting impression on people she knows of the future. They plan to affect as few things as possible.

Snow tears down a wanted poster, and begins to cut down a tree. Abigail prattles on in the carriage, complaining about how long the trip is taking. Hook and Emma hide in the woods as David and Abigail’s carriage near. The riders come to a stop because of a fallen tree, and Emma is surprised to see her father, and scares Snow who falls. David knows that the tree did not fall, but was cut. Snow takes off running, and David goes unrobed. Emma realizes that she may have just messed up her future. She just ruined their first meeting.

Abigail and David make it to their new home, it’s very gold. Snow wants to go far away as soon as possible. She turns to a pirate who swindles her for secrecy. Hook and Emma overlook the castle, but Hook thinks that he should stay back, that he is wanted dead. The Dark One gets the jump on Hook and Emma. He tries to kill Hook, but Emma stops him. She tells him who she is, and asks for his help. He asks if he finds his son, and she admits that he does, but he stops her from telling him how he succeeds. She admits that she may have messed up his future, that she interrupted her parents meeting.

Rumpelstiltskin takes them to his home. Time travel may be a bit much to wrap his head around, but he wonders why even more that he has not killed Hook. Hook admits that they bury the hatchet, and not in eachother. Belle comes in, and its surprising that they fall in love, they’re still in the hate part of the relationship. Now Rumple doesn’t believe that they are really from the future, that he would actually fall in love with Belle. Emma tries to prove that what she is saying is true, but their book has changed, its pages are now blank, the future up in the air. Snow was to steal the ring Prince Charming was to present Abigail, and then the engagement never happened. But he still possesses the ring. Luckily King Midas is having a ball, and there’s still time for Snow to steal the ring. Rumple shows them where Snow is, she’s with Blackbeard trying to secure passage. Hook muses that perhaps they know a pirate who could help, him.

Emma and Hook spy his past self. Hook reasons that as long as Past Hook stays occupied, then he can steal his own ship. Emma looks to distract Past Hook, and current Hook is a little jealous. Hook goes to his ship, and Smee notices a little difference in him. He sends Smee to grab Snow and bring her aboard quietly. Over drinks, Emma asks how he got his hook. He asks her about her name, and she plays coy, double entendre dripping from her words. Hook propositions Snow, claiming to want treasure. Past Hook notices that Emma is trying to get him drunk. He asks her to come back with him, or he finds a new plaything. Hook asks Snow to procure a wedding ring for him, and he’ll grant her safe passage. Emma feigns drunkiness, and Hook carries her. Once Emma sees Snow pass by, she goes back to her feet, and looks to distract. Smee tries to warn Hook of the oddities, but with Emma waiting below, he’s unworried. Emma finds Current Hook below deck, and Emma plans to distract his past self so he can get away. Emma pulls past Hook in for some kisses, and Current Hook knocks himself out, reasoning that he’ll blame the rum. Someone is jealous of his past self!

Hook and Emma watch the castle from afar. Hook thinks that Snow will have no trouble getting in and stealing the ring, but Emma doesn’t want to hope for the best. Rumple comes bearing an invitation to the ball. Once they confirm that Snow has set things right, Rumple will send them back. He gives them a very good disguise, and set them off to the ball. Midas greets “Prince Charles” and “Princess Leia.” Its an elaborate affair, one Emma doesn’t think she can do. Hook pulls her into a waltz, and luckily the swashbuckler isn’t just handsome, he can also cut a rug. Outside Snow uses a grappling hook and climbs into the castle. Emma picks up on the dance, and Hook has to admit that she’s a natural. Prince David asks Abigail to dance, but she brushes him off, saying that her feet hurt. He offers to fetch her shows.

Snow looks for the ring. Regina makes an entrance at the ball, and she comes with an armed guard. Emma thinks that things have gone awry, but Hook tries to assure her that they haven’t. Snow finds the ring, and David finds her, tackling her to the ground. She knocks him out, and Abigail spots her raising the alarm. Hook and Emma watch Snow get away. David declares that he will find her.  One of Regina’s guards try to shoot Snow, but Emma stops him. She notices that Snow dropped the ring, and Hook takes care of the other guards so that Emma can get the ring to her. Regina stops Emma, and has her guards take her away. Hook can do nothing but watch.

Portland 2001 Emma meets with Neil. He asked her out for a drink, brought her coffee and proceeds to break in somewhere. He takes her to a fair swing ride. They sit on the ride as the rain falls around them. Emma asks him about his life. He has a good one, one he can’t go back to. Things changed with his father, he misses it.

Emma gets tossed into cage. She meets Marian, but she cannot speak her name aloud. Regina still does not know who she is. Emma recognizes her, she saw her before, she wanted to help.  Marian knew where Snow was and refused to give her up. Luckily they will only be imprisoned for a night, but unluckily everyone is to be executed.

Snow walks into David’s trap. He warned her that he would catch her, and she names him Charming. Charming knows exactly who she is, and he wants his ring back. Snow doesn’t have the ring, and Hook exposes himself. He tells Charming that Snow really does not have his ring. Hook’s princess “Leia” does, and she’s in the Queen’s castle. Snow can get them into the castle, since it use to be hers. Everyone will get what they want. Hook gets his princess, Charming gets his ring, and Snow never has to see Charming’s face again.

Once Upon A Time Recap: Witch Hunt

The Wicked Witch digs through Regina’s things, marveling at all the stiff she left behind. She sends her flying monkey off to find Regina.

Red wonders if Regina has really changed, Snow thinks that she has, but she’s not doing well with Henry gone. Regina has a plan though to get back in her castle. One of the monkey’s comes in for the attack, but when Robin’s young son is nearly attacked, Regina steps in and turns the monkey into a stuffed toy.

Snow and Charming don’t remember any of their time in the Enchanted Forest. Snow doesn’t think that Regina is involved in the curse. Hook got a note, telling him to get Emma, but the Charmings didn’t send it. Worse, there are many people missing, or turning up missing. Neil hasn’t been founded yet either. Emma decides the best course of action would be to get their memories back.

Everyone tries to make sense of what they’ve just seen. Belle knows of the only place that has flying monkeys, Oz. If it’s Oz, Regina knows that who is in their castle, and worse of all its not a personal vendetta. Regina has done nothing this time to deserve it. Regina plans to go in alone to take down the shield, and although Snow wants to help, Regina insists on going at it alone.

Red brings Henry cinnamon for his pancakes, he still doesn’t remember Storybrook. Snow and Charming come to meet up with Henry and Emma, and they make up a story how they could know Emma. Regina drops her cup when she sees Henry, but Emma quickly grabs her away. It breaks her heart that Henry doesn’t remember her. Regina insists that she didn’t have anything to do with this latest curse, and Emma doesn’t count her out yet.

Robin’s men continue their thievery, but this time, its for a bow so that they can hunt. Little John is a horrible shot, and he chases his Turkey to the Storybrook town line, a flying monkey takes him away.

Robin tells the others about Little John’s disappearance. They think that it may be because he tried to leave Storybrook. Emma decides that maybe a town hall meeting may be the best way to find out the guilty party. Accusations start to fly, all pointing their fingers at Regina, but Regina maintains that she isn’t guilty, even Emma doesn’t believe her. Backed into a corner, Regina becomes what they’re all accusing her of being the Evil Queen, while the real culprit sits in the front row watching it all gleefully.

Regina moves the boulders, and Robin comes out of the woods to help her. He knows that the Wicked Witch was after Regina not his son, but he still owes her for saving him.

Emma comes to meet with Regina. Her little stunt was just that a stunt, to make the real culprit think they got away with the curse. The girls are working together, so look out Wicked Witch, you’re going down. Emma gives Regina the potion bottle so that she can replicate the memory restoring spell. Emma knows Regina well enough now that she can tells when she’s lying, and this time, she isn’t lying about laying the curse.

Regina and Robin navigate the tunnels, to take down the shield, and they get to know each other. Regina may own up to her mistakes, but so does Robin. They find that a door is open, one that shouldn’t be. The crypt to Regina’s mother’s final resting place is open, which means that the Wicked Witch is far more powerful than she thought. Robin asks about the child Regina lost, and she admits to him that he’s lost, but not dead. She has to forge forward, no matter what.

Snow reads about cradle cap, not knowing anything about babies, and talks Henry into going to the library with her. The Wicked Witch, Elina, tells her that cradle cap doesn’t hurt the baby, and Snow quickly bonds with her as she acts overly helpful and sweet as pie. When Snow asks Elina who she was back in the Enchanted Forest, she tells her that not everyone is famous, and Snow buys the story hook, line, and sinker.

Robin and Charming track blood drops and find Little John.

Regina puts Robin on watch duty, while Regina digs through her potions. When she doesn’t answer his queries, he draws his bow on her. She mixes together a sleeping potion, not for use against the witch or even Snow. She tells him it’ll be used on someone no one will ever miss. Robin tells her that she can have a second chance, but Regina doesn’t want it. The curse cannot be broken by anyone but Henry. She’ll do as promised and lower the protection spell, and then go to bed forever.

Regina tries to duplicate the potion, but it doesn’t work. Emma thinks that maybe they’re going about it all wrong, they need to smoke out the perpetrator. They just need to get the word out that she’s close to making a memory potion so that the culprit will try to stop her. Grumpy gets the word out and Zelina makes a run for it.

Robin, Charming and Hook take Little John to the hospital. He’s still in critical condition, and as the doctors rush to save him he begins to seize. The seizure gets worse, and Little John transforms into a flying monkey. Is it a spell or some mutant flying monkey virus?

Regina and Emma have a stakeout, but its long and boring. Regina asks about Henry, about his friends and life in New York. Emma admits that she almost didn’t come back because they had a good life, but she remembers, and says that Henry would say that a hero would come back. Someone enters Regina’s office, and Regina and Emma race to see who it is. They corner her, but she gets away.

Regina heads to put out the flame, and thus take down the shield. The flame goes out with little issue, and the shield drops. Charming orders everyone to move on the castle, and Regina prepares to prick her finger. The Wicked Witch stops her, she thought she’d get more of a hello. She introduces herself as Zelina. She acts indifferent to everything. Regina wonders how she managed to break her spell, saying that no one is that powerful. Apparently Mommy Dearest kept more than a few things from Regina, one of them being that she has a sister, Zelina. They’re just half sisters, and Zelina is the elder sister, and she’s not only green but a little bitter over not having a mother. And furthermore she too has ties to Rumplestiltskin. Regina tells her that both their mother and Rumple are dead, but that’s fine because Zelina wants to take everything away from her. She wants Regina to suffer, but Regina has nothing left to lose. Gauntlet thrown, Zelina flies off. Now Regina has something to live for, someone to destroy.

Regina isn’t sure meeting Henry is a good idea, but Emma tells her that she will be fine. Emma introduces Henry to Regina. Regina tells Henry that his mother has told her a lot about him, because she’s proud, and she offers to show him around, and even take him out for ice cream. He likes the idea, and although odd, the introduction went well.

Hook and Charming tell Emma, Snow and Regina the news about the flying monkey. Now they know who cursed them, just not why.

Zelina goes to feed her prisoner. She’s brought back Rumplestiltskin, and he doesn’t exactly look grateful, in fact he looks like he’s been stuck in crazy town.

COMIC CON Day 1 Intelligence and Psych Signings plus scenes around the floor

San Diego Comic Con has officially begun. Preview night is nice, but it doesn’t quite have that heart-pounding feel of the actual con. There’s plenty of the schedule today, and after navigating the horrible signing drawings where I actually got two of the ones I wanted there was time to wonder the floor.

I do a lot of wondering the floors when I can at Comic Con, you just never know what you’re going to see. My favorites this year are the Superman Costumes. They have a bunch of the Super suits worn by: Christopher Reeves, Dean Cain, Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill. They even had on display Tom Welling’s not quite superman/superman ensemble. Superman is likely to have a very large presence this year, even though there is no Superman movie they’re showing, it is his 75th birthday, and I must say he looks good for his age.

The Legendary booth also has some great displays of costumes from Seventh Son and Pacific Rim.

The first signing I drew of the day was for the new show Intelligence. It’s set to debut early 2014, and really besides a synopsis as follows, I have no clue the quality of show.  "A drama centered on a high-tech intelligence operative who is enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain, and the director of the elite government cyber-security agency who supports him.

Sounds cool? Sure. More importantly it’s starring Josh Holloway, Meghan Ory and Marg Helgenberger who are all on hand to sign. One thing I hate besides having to draw tickets in a lottery for signings is that they don’t allow pictures during many of the signings. This one allowed some photos but apparently people abused the privilege, and the rest of us suffered. Thanks guys. The cast though were bubbly and excited, and were still trying to chat as the people working the signing tried to move people along.

The following signing was for Psych. I’m a long time fan. I’ve worked a few press rooms with them, I was due to head into their press room right after this, I’ve sat through their panels but I was excited anyways, you know right up until they sold out of their book they were signing. Seriously? If you have a signing, why would you not have enough books on hand? Why you not let everyone buy theirs prior to seeing the cast to make sure everyone got atleast one, and not let the autograph sellers get multiple copies. Heck I had even asked prior to the signing about the book supply and even though they claimed they had enough there were a lot of people left without books.

Alright, I’m done with my soap box. This cast really gets along well, and they’re very funny when you put them all together. Tim Omundson cracked jokes with Dulé Hill,  Kirsten Nelson supplied funny voices. James Roday didn’t seem to be really enjoying himself all that much, but he was more than happy to take a picture along with myself and Corbin Bersen. He’s just not really a crowd person, and Comic Con is all about the crowds. He was still very nice.

So day one of signings didn’t exactly go according to plan, but nothing at the show ever does, but not to fret there’s still plenty of days left!
