Movies).  The film features an outstanding ensemble cast including Adam Scott (“Parks and Recreation”), Taylor Schilling (“Orange is the New Black”), and Jason Schwartzman (The Grand Budapest Hotel).

Alex (Scott), Emily (Schilling) and their son, RJ have recently moved to Los Angeles’ Eastside from Seattle.  Feeling lost in a new city, they are desperate to find their first new friends. After a chance meeting with Kurt (Schwartzman) at the neighborhood park, they gladly agree to join family pizza night at their home.  But as the night goes on and the kids go to bed, the family “playdate” becomes increasingly more revealing and bizarre as the couples begin to open up.

Set in 1965, Moonrise Kingdom is a stylized coming of age film that promises to bring the viewer of any age back to the intensity of just-entering-adolescence love. The casting, characters, and acting are beyond extraordinary.

Edward Norton takes a turn as the as an anal but dedicated troop leader.  Bill Murray is genuinely disgruntled with everything, his work, wealth, family or beautiful surroundings.  Bruce Willis is the bachelor, island cop who goes head-to-head with the chilling Tilda Swinton known only as "Social Services," as she callously plans to put "the boy" in juvenile refuge to undergo shock therapy as needed.

The truly stand out isn’t the adult cast though, it’s the child stars  Sam and Suzy not only keep pace. Not only do they steal the show with their unconditional love, but both express an unthinking complete giving of themselves to one other. The film captures beautifully how two outcasts find themselves when they find each other. They play the both child and adult facets with such zeal.

The heart-warming story is touching, enjoyable from start to finish, and very funny. It is a magnificent fun-filled movie for the entire family, that doesn’t rely on flashy special effects, but rather great story telling.
