Apple TV has been busy jump-starting the promotional run for the many new series that will be premiering on their soon to be launched streaming platform. In recent weeks, the chatter was stirred up by the trailer release for "See," a new fantasy series starring Jason Momoa as a blind man trying to protect his sighted children in a world where everyone is blind and sight is considered something dangerous and threatening by the world's superstitions.
Now the latest buzz is for "Servant," a mysterious new series co-produced by M. Night Shyamalan. Though Shyamalan is not credited as a writer or director, he is set to appear with the show's promotional visit to New York Comic Con next week. Just today, Apple TV released teasers for the show that reveal very little to the audience. In the first one (entitled "Jericho"), a strange-looking baby is shown rocking in a cradle while his mother and babysitter are overheard talking about him.
This fits in well with the few tidbits of information that have been released thus far. The only premise that had been given thus far was that married couple Sean and Dorthy Turner (portrayed by Toby Kebbell and Lauren Ambrose) hire a young nanny Leanne (Nell Tiger Free) to help care for their newborn. The running tagline about further plot developments is that not all is as it seems. It's an almost frustratingly vague descriptor but completely on brand with M. Night Shyamalan's brand of mystery and in all likelihood, plot twists. Additionally, Rupert Grint is another announced member of the cast, playing a character called Julian Pearce.
The second teaser (entitled "Cricket") shows Leanne brushing her teeth and giving a voiceover about how her grandmother used to say that if a cricket came into your own home that something bad would happen shortly thereafter.
Here is where we finally begin to get a sense of what has happened in the series, as the trailer description box offers further information about the series. "From M. Night Shyamalan, Servant follows a Philadelphia couple in mourning after an unspeakable tragedy creates a rift in their marriage and opens the door for a mysterious force to enter their home."
From this, we can speculate that Sean and Dorothy Turner had a baby that died and have now opted to purchase one of those 'realistic' babies as a means of coping and struggling to let go. Perhaps the further escalation of drama and conflict comes from a supernatural force or merely the belief that supernatural ongoings are infiltrating their once peaceful home. Either way, we'll be tuning in to find out!
Now that New York Comic Con is just one month away, the organisers have released the full programming schedule. Whether you're interested in big panels from major studios, or the smaller ones discussing various social dynamics intertwined with your favourite creative products, there's something for you to attend.
If you're looking to meet or interact with the various celebrities in attendance, there are numerous stars set to do signings and photo-ops which you can purchase online or in person depending on the guest. If you are looking to buy things at the con, many of the guests have cash-only policies so make sure you bring enough to do so or be prepared to hit up an ATM machine.
With so many options to choose from, some of the most striking names include Jason Momoa and Zachary Levi, both of whom are set to star in large DCEU films "Aquaman" and "Shazam" respectively. But there will also be a reunion of sorts with Doctor Who stars David Tennant, Matt Smith, and Alex Kingston all appearing and ready to meet any Whovians hoping to do so. There's solo and group photo-ops, as well as a panel that all three will be on together.

True to form, the biggest and most exciting debuts of Comic Con came on Saturday, this year from Warner Bros. and the DCEU. Three films were in attendance, Aquaman, Shazam, and Wonder Woman, the last of which had only been filming for two weeks and thus didn't have a trailer to premiere. But as Aquaman is set to be released first out of the three, and Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry has already debuted in prior DCEU films, it's no surprise that Jason Momoa was the biggest rockstar of the entire convention.
The new Aquaman trailer offers a deeper glimpse into Arthur Curry's origins, from his mixed-race, mixed-species (human/Atlantean) parentage, to the manifestation of his powers, and the conflict that will facilitate our hero's journey. Perhaps even more impressive are the stunning visual design and special effects which are highlighted. There's just enough to showcase how stunning the world-building is, but not so much that we feel spoiled on all the intricacies and nuances of who these characters are and how they will develop throughout this story.

'Margaery Tyrell' On HBO Series to Appear Saturday and Sunday at Pennsylvania Convention Center'
PHILADELPHIA, March 8, 2018 --Natalie Dormer, who gained international attention with her performance of "Margaery Tyrell" on the HBO series "Game of Thrones," will make her first Wizard World Comic Con appearance when the tour hits Philadelphia on May 19 and 20.
