Could one of these two be the new Spiderman?

Since Marvel announced that Spider-man as coming home to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) the internet has been abuzz with who should play the webslinger next. Although he put on a pretty good performance, Andrew Garfield is officially out. Variety is reporting that Marvel is looking to send the old back to high school yet again, and they're looking for a younger actor to play him.

So far on the top of the list are Dylan O'Brien (Teen Wolf, The Maze Runner) and Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson, Fury), both aged 23.

Dylan O'Brien in particular seems to be well suited for the role of Peter Parker. His character on Teen Wolf, Stiles, delivers Peter's brand of sarcasm with perfection. His work alone in Season 3B of Teen Wolf, showcased that he has the acting chops to pull off a some difficult emotional feats. His turn in last year's The Maze Runner also received great reviews, and widened his fan base. If there is one thing that Dylan O'Brien brings to the table over Logan Lerman is a rabid fan base.

Lerman certainly has the blue eyes and boyish good looks of Peter Parker, and he was at one time a front runner before Garfield landed the role in 2012. Logan Lerman has lead the Percy Jackson franchise, and impressed many with his turn in Fury. But he has yet to prove he has what it takes to deliver the comedic barbs that Peter Parker is so well known for.

No offers have been made so far.

A new actor playing Spider-man may not be the only change that takes place. There is also buzz that it won't be Peter Parker this time around, but instead Miles Morales that suits up. In the comics Morales was of mixed heritage, whose father is African American and mother is Puerto Rican. This would be a great addition to the Marvel canvas, adding not only youth, but diversity.

Rapper Donald Glover has long been a fan favorite to play Morales, and the character may have even been visually based off him. But, if they're going for youth, Glover is getting a bit old to play Morales at 31. In the past Sony has cast Toby Maguire 26, and Andrew Garfield 28 to play a high schooler, so its still a possibility.

One suggestion, skip over Peter Parker, and even Miles Morales, and go with Miguel O'Hara. Granted his origin story would have to be altered from the comics, but the idea of a geneticist asked to create new corporation-controlled super-powered soldiers called "corporate raiders" and then getting drugged and blackmailed to continue his work when he sees he toll on humanity his work is doing, isn't so far off base. Too complicated? They can go with the high school introduction, either would work to introduce the character. With O'Hara you can introduce a Latino character, and one that audiences won't be completely familiar with yet. Marvel likes to take their lesser known characters and make them into money making rockstars.

If you read the twitter feeds of the writers here at Museled, @Suepafly and @LadyJenevia you'll know that we not only love this idea, but are adamant that Peter Parker has had his time in the sun and it's time for another Spiderman incarnation. We've seen two different takes of Spiderman in a short period of time, and although we're ready for a new one, we don't want to see the same story rehashed again. Futhermore, we think another Teen Wolfer would be perfect for the job of bringing O'Hara to the big screen.

Tyler Posey is also 23, like O'Brien and Lerman. He's got the charm and agility to pull off any Spidey persona, even as Peter Parker. He brings a level of enthusiasm and energy few could match. Not only is he personable, and extremely likable, he can deliver snark with the best of them. He's got the whole teenager thing down. Ethnically he's a match too. Posey, too is of Irish, English, and Scottish ancestry on his father's side, and of Mexican ancestry on his mother's. And, just like O'Brien, he has a rabid fan base that would be happy to transition with him over to the Marvel world.

Whoever Sony chooses to step into the red and blue tights, they have to make that decision soon. Marvel wants to introduce the new actor playing Spider-Man in “Captain America: Civil War,” in theaters in 2016, before launching his own solo franchise at Sony in 2017.

Community S5E5 - "Geothermal Escapism" Recap

Annie presents Troy with a universal translator as a going-away present from the group. Britta is convinced that everyone is acting happy to avoid processing their feelings. Dean Pelton makes an announcement over the intercom that he has approved Abed's suggestion of a massive, school-wide game of "Hot Lava." Abed ups the stakes by saying that the winner will receive $50,000. The school is sent into a panic and the game begins.

Britta thinks the lava symbolises Abed's fear of change. She is almost knocked into the lava by Professor Duncan before joining up with Jeff and Annie. The three of them are nearly defeated by a misfit gang of "Locker Boys," led by Chang, before Troy and Abed swoop in. Professor Buzz Hickey then takes down the "Locker Boys," and Chang screams for Nathan Fillion in his final moments (a humourous nod to Nathan Fillion's frequent professions of love for the show on Twitter).

Britta is abandoned by the gang, who head for "Shirley Island." Some of them express remorse over "leaving her for dead," but before long, Shirley Island is attacked by Britta, Professor Hickey, and a gang of "chair walkers." A battle ensues, Jeff and Britta fight both physically and verbally, and eventually Jeff is knocked to the floor. Shortly thereafter, Troy and Abed roll through in a giant bubble that Hickey punctures with a small knife. Britta climbs on board Hickey's vehicle as they chase after Troy and Abed's gradually deflating ball. Britta jumps on their ball and shouts that they must confront their feelings. Troy and Abed escape and in the midst of regrouping, Abed confesses that he sees the lava as real because Troy is leaving. Britta pushes Hickey into the lava when she realises the enormity of what Abed is going through and the scene climaxes with Abed "letting go" and falling into the lava.

Britta and Troy discuss what to do about Abed. Troy is prepared to sacrifice himself by jumping into the lava, but Britta stops him and says that she can "fake-fix" him by "cloning" him, based on the comic that Abed had. She pretends to do so, and Abed rises from the lava, saying that Britta's work was sloppy and that he is not an exact copy. Instead, he is a less emotional version of Abed and will be able to let Troy go. The group all gathers at the end and say their goodbyes to Troy. There is also an appearance from LeVar Burton, who will be accompanying Troy on his journey.

This episode marks the final appearance of Donald Glover. Community airs on Thursdays on NBC at 8/7c.

Community S5E4 - "Cooperative Polygraphy" Recap

The study group returns to the study room after Pierce's funeral. They meet Mr. Stone, who is Pierce's executor. Pierce's will required an investigation of his death and several people, including all of the study group must be questioned as potential murder suspects. They must all undergo an apolygraph examination. Through the course of the questioning, each study group member has personal secrets revealed to the rest of the group and conflict ensues. These secrets include Troy and Abed using Jeff's Netflix, Annie overcharging Troy and Abed for rent, Annie's drugging the group to help them study for a big test, Abed putting tracking devices on everyone, Shirley's donating money to an anti-abortion organisation, Abed cat-fishing Annie in order to get pancakes (which she makes when in a good mood), Jeff making Abed apply for handicapped parking so he could get a better spot, Britta inviting Garrett to Annie's birthday party... it goes on and on. Jeff gives one of his speeches and they decide to see the questioning through. For money. Pierce's final words to the individual group members are surprisingly kind and uplifting. Britta receives an iPod, Annie a tiara, Shirley a timeshare in Florida, Jeff a bottle of scotch, and Troy receives the bulk of Pierce's fortune under the condition that he sail Pierce's boat around the world as becoming-a-man-ritual. Additionally, each group receives a frozen sample of Pierce's sperm. Troy agrees to take on Pierce's task; this was a task given to Pierce by his own father but Pierce cheated and never completed it, which caused him life-long regret. The group is shocked, Abed in particular. Later, Mr. Stone is drunk in a bar with the group and reveals that Pierce dyed from dehydration as a result of filling all the sperm-filled-cylinders that the group received.

Community airs on Thursdays on NBC at 8/7c.

Community S5E3 - "Basic Intergluteal Numismatics" Recap

Greendale finds itself under attack by the Ass-Crack-Bandit. Victims will have a coin dropped down their crack when bent or leaning over. Jeff and Annie investigate and Professor Duncan offers up his services. Troy becomes a victim, and Annie deduces that the ACB is likely a teacher. Jeff and Annie trace a call from the ACB to the campus stables, where they discover Star-Burns, who is not only still alive, but has been living in the stables. He confesses to being the ACB. During a dance celebrating the capture of the ACB, Star-Burns confesses that he lied about being the ACB and Annie begins to suspect Professor Duncan of being the true culprit. Though at first, she appears to be right, Professor Duncan eventually becomes a victim himself. Shirley informs the group that Pierce is dead and the group mourns the loss of their friend. The investigation is called off, Star-Bruns officially retracts his confession, and the episode ends with the implication that multiple main and supporting characters may be the true ACB. This mystery will live on to another day... or episode(s)...

Community airs on Thursday on NBC at 8/7c.

Community S5E2 - "Introduction to Teaching" Recap

Jeff is teaching a class on the Fundamentals of Law and struggles with not actually knowing the ins and outs of law, as well as being pestered by various students who take issue with his attitude that resembles a student more than a teacher. He meets Buzz Hickey, the Criminology Professor, who has been teaching at Greendale for 15 years.

Abed finds a course entitled, "Nicholas Cage: Good or Bad," and is thrilled to enrol in it. Jeff and Annie argue over Jeff's attitude towards teaching and Dean Pelton eagerly tell the group that he has begun learning to use Excel. Hicky shows Jeff the teacher's lounge and Jeff learns that nearly all of Greendale's professors do not take teaching seriously. Abed begins obsessing over Nicolas Cage and trying to determine whether he is indeed a good or bad actor. This culminates in his having a nervous breakdown in class, during which he performs a medley of wild moments from Cage's various performances. Later, he bonds with Shelly after learning that like him, she enjoys the Hellraiser films.

Annie eventually enrols in Jeff's class to try to keep him on track. Hicky recommends that Jeff give her "A-"s and that it will drive her crazy till she drops his class. He also states that teachers do not have to explain their grades and that the "minus" is merely a way of getting back at students they dislike. An argument between Jeff and Annie during his class leads her to storm out and the class becomes impressed by his having won an argument against Annie. This seg-ways into an opportunity for him to teach his students and actually enjoy it. After class, she reveals that Hicky gave her an A- on a recent assignment, which she claims was the true reason for her storming out.

When Jeff confronts Hicky about Annie's "A-," Hicky states that he did it to get Annie off Jeff's back. She tells Annie that her project was an "A," and she becomes upset that Jeff used his connections as a teacher. When he tells her about the minuses being meaningless, she is further angered and with Britta and Troy, rallies the other students into rioting. Jeff attempts to deliver one of his signature speeches to change the tide, but the students remain unswayed. Eventually, Jeff begins a student-teacher "Save Greendale" alliance that the members of the study group and Professor Hicky all join.

Community airs on Thursdays on NBC at 8/7c.

Community - S5E1 "Repilot" Recap

An unknown amount of time has transpired since the Season 4 finale, and the episode begins with Jeff Winger having his belongings carried out of his office. His law firm has gone under and Alan Connor, the man responsible for his having to return to Greendale in the first place, comes to gloat before informing him about a lawsuit being filed against Greeendale. Jeff seems to join forces with him and returns to Greendale to obtain files that would aide in the case.

He meets with Dean Pelton, who is as infatuated with him as ever, and eventually discovers that the files he was looking for were shredded. Jeff finds himself re-united with the study-group (minus Pierce), who believes that they are all there to try to save the school as part of a committee. Jeff lies to them so he can collect information about the negative things that have happened to them since graduation so they can all eventually file their own lawsuits against Greendale. He decides that these suits will be a means of achieving yet another comeback and double-crosses Connor, stating that he will go forth with these suits himself. Connor comes to Greendale and informs the group of Jeff's true intentions but once he leaves, Jeff manipulates them into filing anyway.

Britta is now working as a bartender, that she likens to being a therapist. Abed is planning to develop a new social media, after which Troy will sue him so they may both profit. Shirley confesses that her sandwich business failed, and is yet again separated with her husband. Annie is pushing pens for a pharmaceutical company. They also reunite with Chang, who was re-hired at Greendale despite trying to burn down the school (among other crimes).

A holograph of Pierce appears in the courtyard and helps Jeff realise that what he is doing is wrong. Jeff goes in to tell off the Dean and insists that he turn things around at Greendale. He offers Jeff a job as a teacher. The gang is about to burn their study-group tables but Jeff stops them just in time. He convinces them to re-enroll in Greendale. They burn the lawsuit and accidentally set the tables on fire too.
