Hemlock Grove S2E10 (Season 2 Finale) - "Demons and the Dogstar" Recap

Roman and Peter work to dispose of the bodies while Destiny and Miranda work on cleaning the house. Miranda is now freaked out by what she witnessed: Nadia stared at the guy and then he bled to death. She lashes out at Peter and Roman for lying to her, and calls them monsters. The group puts Miranda to bed and Destiny has a nice moment with Roman where she thanks him for saving Peter and saying she was wrong about him. Miranda doesn't get much rest though. She then begins to lactate blood.

Norman heads to Olivia's, preparing to kill her. She's still riding high on her state of mind and ready to make a fresh start with him, albeit a short-lived one. Norman asks about the meds Olivia is taking; she has stage IV lymphoma.

Pryce isn't mad about Roman killing Dr. Z, as she was becoming a liability anyway. Roman asks Pryce to dispose of the bodies. Pryce asks who they were but Roman doesn't know. Pryce eventually agrees, but Roman will have to stop meddling in his work. He tells Olivia he knows about her upir-ism and the fact that she killed Marie. He's ready to let her die a slow and painful death, courtesy of cancer, deeming this a more suitable punishment than the death he was about to bestow upon her. Olivia pleads for forgiveness but Norman's not having it. The big bad Olivia is back!

New Shelley sits with Original Shelley as she makes her final arrangements with Pryce, regarding her place of rest and seeing that Jason is tended to. Pryce administers the medicine that will end her life and he and New Shelley leave her to die in peace.

Miranda visits Dr. Spivak to get her bloody boobs checked out. Meanwhile, Destiny has visions of a snake and the Godfrey Institute, along with a man wearing a hat much like Spivak's.

Norman arrives at the Godfrey Institute and learns about Shelley's download into a new body. Norman is furious, believing Pryce and Olivia to be selfishly acting in their own interest's instead of Shelley's. Throughout the conversation, they realise that Norman rejecting Olivia may have put Shelley at risk. They rush to old Shelley's bedside and work to revive her. Norman is successful but Shelley is distraught to find she is still in her old body. Meanwhile, Pryce rushes off and discovers Olivia has feasted on New Shelley, before announcing her intentions to find her granddaughter. Shelley goes to her new but now dead body and cradles her.

At Spivak's office, we learn that he was the mastermind behind many of the events of this season after targeting her after encountering her at a blood bank. He was the one who crashed into her, sending her into Roman's life. He also was the one that caused her lactation and seems to want to harvest eggs from Nadia. Olivia arrives, ready to collect Nadia, so the two get into a physical altercation in which we see some reptilian skin through a cut on his face. Miranda tries to leave with Nadia but gets into an altercation with Anna the maid. But once Anna gets Nadia in her arms, Nadia does her freaky trick and Anna bleeds to death. Miranda calls Roman to tell him what has happened and he tells her to come to White Tower where they can be safe.

The castrating drug dealer shows up at Peter's place to demand his money. He has Peter strip down to do the same to him as the drug dealers. Destiny arrives and the drug dealer is eager to try his equipment out on female body parts. Peter is prepared to turn to save Destiny, knowing that this will kill him, but Andreas shows up and shoots the drug dealer dead. Peter and Destiny don't understand why he has a gun, let alone a silencer on it, but it's a conversation for another time.

Miranda arrives at White Tower and Roman assures her things are going to be okay and she's not to blame for anything that has happened. He gets a call and heads to the gate to retrieve Destiny and Peter from the gate guard who won't let them through without authorisation, leaving Miranda and Nadia alone. Miranda blames herself for Nadia's condition, and her guilt is worsened when they go to look at a monkey, and Nadia explodes its head.

Shelley is hysterical so Pryce orders her to be taken into a secure ward to be monitored at all times. Norman takes off to confront Olivia, with a syringe in hand. Roman, Peter, and Destiny return and find Miranda and Nadia missing so Roman orders security to search the building for them. Norman and Olivia have their face-off but it's brief, as Olivia tears Norman's heart from his body. She then texts Chasseur from Norman's phone, with a photo of Norman's body and a message: "YOU'RE NEXT"

Miranda has gone up to the roof with Nadia, believing suicide to be the best option for the two of them. Roman, Peter, and Destiny arrive, and try to talk her off the ledge. But she jumps off, and just when you thought they were done for, a reptilian, dragon-like Dr. Spivak comes flying through the air and flies into the night with Miranda and Nadia in his clutches. Roman, Peter, Destiny, Olivia, and Pryce all watch from their respective spots.

Hemlock Grove will return to Netflix for its third and final season.

Hemlock Grove S2E9 - "Tintypes" Recap

Peter's alive, but captures. He's got a spiked collar around his neck to prevent him from changing. He's being tortured for information and we get some more perspective on these lunatic baby-killers who believe themselves to be doing God's work. They know Peter knows where "the beast" (Nadia) is but he's not so keen on sharing.

Roman considers cancelling his last treatment to go save Peter but Pryce convinces him he needs to stay put and finish it. If he back out, not only will his symptoms return, but they'll come back even stronger. Roman agrees to "get this fucking thing over with."

Miranda begins to realise there's something off about baby Nadia, as if her freakish eyes weren't sign enough. Nadia spells out her name with alphabet blocks, something no infant should normally know how to do.

Olivia visits Pryce and demands to know what is going on with this New Shelley and becomes furious that he is experimenting on her children. But Pryce isn't bothered by her tantrum, pointing out her years of mistreatment to Shelley and her all-around selfishness. Olivia asks why Pryce doesn't just put together another experiment to save her. Pryce determines that Olivia has been talking to Dr. Z and warns her that she doesn't know who Dr. Z is and that they would all do well to be cautious of whatever her agenda may be. He advises her to stay the course of her treatment.

Olivia runs into Dr. Z in the hallway, who advises Olivia that death is her best solution where Roman is concerned. Roman is her enemy and must be taken out.

Destiny meets with a Romani vargulf and pays for his assistance, but more on that later...

Norman says goodbye to Leticia, giving her a large severance package. But she sees right through this and confronts him as he's about to sneak into Olivia's house with a loaded gun. She warns Norman that she will testify against him if he goes through with this. She gets Norman to hand over his weapon and lets him leave. Leticia then visits Chasseur to tell him about Norman's plans to kill Olivia. But then she is arrested for breaking into Olivia's home to swipe some prints. So Chasseur visits Norman and tells him about Clementine, adding that he wants in on killing Olivia.

In-between rounds of torture, Peter begins to force a turn against the moon in order to escape his restraints. He takes out his main torturer and struggles with the pain of the torture and being one step closer to an irreversible vargulf state. He steals a van and leaves the base, calling Destiny and telling her to meet him at Roman's.

Olivia promises Shelley that she'll be a better mother after overhearing Shelley for apologising for being a difficult child. She becomes absorbed in this new state of mind, that she seems content to die if she will be surrounded by her children and love one (Norman).

Meanwhile, Dr. Z prepares to give Roman "something to help with the pain" (we don't buy that for a hot minute) but Roman checks his phone and sees the text from Peter about Nadia being in danger, causing him to tear the line out before he can be poisoned. He makes for the large vat of blood and body parts and hooks up his IV. Roman's about to get seriously juiced. Dr. Z tries to sneak up on Roman with a syringe but when Pryce and Olivia reach the vat, Roman is gone and Dr. Z is in with the rest of the body parts.

Peter, Miranda, and Destiny are at Roman's when the Vargulf Seer arrives. He tells Destiny that he will cast the vargulf out of Peter, but it's uncertain whether Peter will survive the procedure. However, Peter is sure to die if he doesn't have it at all. Peter is angry about this intervention and gets physical with Destiny, which shocks him enough to accept the help. The Vargulf Seer tells Peter he doesn't have much time, and if he turns once more then he will be lost to his wolf state forever.

Roman's butler chides these unwelcome house guests and is shot by an arrow. The masked men break in and also kill the Vargulf Seer. Miranda and Destiny make it into the safe room while Peter fights the masked men. He's about to be beheaded when Roman shows up and unleashes an ax-wielding, juiced up ass-kicking. Destiny leaves Miranda and Nadia to see if Peter is all right and to help in the fight (why didn't she just do that to begin with?) Peter's lying on the ground wounded with an arrow in the guy. When he sees Destiny's about to get killed, he transforms into a vargulf and gets her killer off. After killing more men, Roman has to hack his way into the room since the alarm system is broken.

The rouge Order leader is about to kill Nadia, since Miranda was useless in fighting him off. But then she unleashes her brand of weirdness and the man begins to bleed from his mouth and eyes till he is dead. And so Roman holds his daughter for the first time. Now the group is alive and saved but Peter corners them. Roman tries to appeal to him but it's not working. So Roman grabs vargulf-Peter by the jaw and tears it open before reaching inside and pulling human Peter out. It's nasty and precisely what we'd expect from the show. A bloody Peter lies twitching on the ground and baby Nadia is safe for now.

Chasseur has Norman practice stabbing in the heart on a dead body. Roman's house is a bloody mess. Peter finally wakes, terrified, but happy to see that baby Nadia and everyone else are okay. Olivia sings the original Shelley a lullaby.

Hemlock Grove is available on Netflix.

Hemlock Grove S2E8 - "Unicorn" Recap

Flasback to Paris 1884, and Olivia is being held prisoner. A metal mask is removed from her and she meets the Chancellor of the Order, who releases her on the condition that she will be monitored and she must convince the other upirs to self-regulate their feeding habits. She agrees but then threatens the chancellor, reminding him that she could kill him anytime she chose to.

Peter and Roman try to bury the bodies of the masked men in the woods but the ground is too frozen to dig the holes. Roman tells Peter that he is receiving treatments to be become human. They drag the bodies back to the car and Roman fights against his thirst to keep from feeding from these dead bodies… one of which turns out to be still alive. Peter removes the mask and finds it is a woman asking for help. Peter wants to turn her in to Chasseur but Roman wants to finish her off. They compromise by deciding to question her.

Nadine the prostitute goes in to see Chasseur, accusing Roman of ripping out the throat of her abusive boyfriend/pimp, which we saw Roman do in the first episode of this season. Chasseur's interest is piqued since he suspects Roman to have been involved with his sister's disappearance.

Pryce uploads Shelley's mind to Prycilla's body. But her brain still exists in her original body. The plan is to kill her old body because this is the one that is wanted for murder. It's an emotional moment but Shelley agrees to go through with this plan eventually.

The woman's name is Sarah, who tells Peter and Roman how she was kidnapped ten years ago by a man named John Boone as a child, thanking Peter for the opportunity to finally say her old name out loud. This man thought that killing families would bring about a religious Apocalypse. Roman looks up her name on his phone and finds a missing person matching her name/address, seemingly confirming her story. Roman is now the one who believes her whereas Peter thinks it's a con, feeling no pity for her because of all the killing she has done.

Norman and Leticia use a backlight on Olivia's home and from the patterns, determine that Olivia killed Marie and dragged her body upstairs to the bathtub. They can't call in the authorities because professional cleaners have already been through and destroyed any evidence that could be used against her. Norman says he will handle it himself but Leticia says he has no idea what he is dealing with.

Peter and Roman decide to bring Sarah back to her family but Peter stabs her when she begins to reach for something. It was the right decision, since she had pulled the pin off a grenade, which Peter hurriedly threw into the woods to spare them. As Sarah dies, she says, "The Caul. You can't stop us." Peter and Roman load her up in the trunk of her car right as Sheriff Chasseur pulls up. He wants to arrest them over these dead bodies but upon examining them, a watch with a particular design catches his eye and changes his demeanour. He releases Peter and Roman and tells them to keep quiet about what they've seen or they'll end up dead, too.

Peter and Roman return home and learn from the housekeeper that Miranda has run off with the baby, along with some diapers and toys. They try to figure out a course of action but then they receive painful visions of the White Tower and masked men.

While out with the baby, Miranda runs into Dr. Arnold Spivak. He asks who she's running away from and she insists she's fine, a lie he sees right through. He advises her to call someone, saying human beings aren't designed to function in isolation. She then runs off with Nadia before her food even arrives, or at least tries to until the car fails to start.

Olivia has a fall so Pryce loads her up to get a full scan and they find that she has terminal brain cancer, with only a 20% chance of surviving.

Roman is visited by Norman, who asks about the results of Olivia's DNA test. Roman tells him it's all true, that both Olivia and he are upirs. He doesn't know if Olivia killed Marie, but he tells Norman she's capable of it. Norman decides to finally admits that he is Roman's father and that he should have admitted it a long time ago. Roman isn't interested in his apology, and does not claim him as his father.

Destiny calls Peter to tell him that Miranda has arrived with baby Nadia.

Sheriff Chasseur confronts the priest, Francis, who previously warned him about losing the Order's protection. He gets physical on Francis, showing him the watch from the dead masked person. It has the same symbol on it that is in the priest's house. Francis makes a call to the Chancellor of the Order that reveals these serial killers are a rogue part of the Order. The Chancellor isn't concerned about this threat but Francis insists that she send reinforcements. Those reinforcements that arrive bring laser points that hone in on Francis… looks like this priest won't be around anymore.

New Shelley visits Shelley and the two share a nice moment. New Shelley tells Shelley she doesn't have to die. It's a touching moment but Shelley is still determined to follow through.

Roman and Peter tell Miranda about upirs and werewolves. Destiny is annoyed and wielding a knife, but Peter convinces her of the psychic connection he shares with Roman. Peter says they're getting these dreams for a reason and have to stop these masked men. Destiny puts a ritual together that involves the three of them holding her underwater, thus giving her vision of the masked murderers, their operation, and the children they've killed. She's pushed out of the vision by one of the Order's new reinforcements. Destiny says that the Order is after a particular baby, one born with the caul. Roman is alarmed; Nadia was born with a caul. They'll keep killing babies matching their description till they find the one they're after.

Dr. Z (the Russian war criminal) tells Olivia she can be restored if she consumes the biological matter of "the unicorn," Prycilla.

Sheriff Chasseur arrives at Francis' home and finds him shot up with arrows. He's been shot in a way that missed the vital organs so his death will be slow. Francis tells Chasseur that Olivia murdered his sister and that he had protected Olivia to save the lineage of the upirs. Michael puts Francis out of his misery and then leaves to find Olivia.

Norman loads up his gun, preparing to confront Olivia.

Peter finds the lair of the cult members that Destiny saw in her vision. He prepares to shift into his werewolf state but then cult members surround him and shoot him with the same weapons they used on Francis.

Olivia prepares to feed off a sleeping New Shelley but then she wakes up and says to Olivia, "Mother."

Hemlock Grove S2E7 - "Lost Generation" Recap

After a night of sexual shenanigans with both Roman and Peter, Miranda has a vision dream, much like the duo have had throughout the show's run. She sees a family slaughtered by men in white masks while Roman and Peter run towards her trying to stop it.

Peter and Roman are awkward around each other due to the previous night's events but Miranda is cheery as can be. She then tells them about the dream she had, after which Roman and Peter hurry off to discuss it. Roman wonders if they should tell her but Peter says it isn't a good idea, worry that she could get hurt.

Peter tells Chasseur about the dreams and the research he has done into them. But Chasseur can't go chasing dreams when there's actual crimes that he has to tend to. Peter tells him Roman dreamt it too and this gets Chasseur a bit more interested. Peter wants to go with Chasseur as he investigates but Chasseur says a civilian can't come with him. Peter warns him that these people aren't fucking around.

Norman calls Roman in to the White Tower and runs into Olivia on the way up. There they are reunited with Shelley and we're treated to another touching Godfrey sibling moment. Shelley tells Roman she missed him and he is amazed and overjoyed at her ability to speak. Olivia also gets emotional to see her daughter. Shelley fills them in and they promise to help Jason, at her request. Roman chides Olivia for her maternal behaviour, believing it to be disingenuous. Roman and Olivia get into an argument so Pryce sends them out. After Olivia leaves, Roman sneaks back in against Pryce's orders in order to tell Shelley that Olivia is as bad as ever and he won't let her work her way back in. He says he'll do whatever it takes to keep her out of their lives.

Leticia the private investigator visits Norman to update him on her findings. She has matched Olivia's fingerprints to a murder from 1965. She even ran them five different times and had another person confirm the findings. The only living witness is still alive and in Buffalo.

Chasseur visits Roman to enquire about the dreams. Roman is evasive about having any pre-cognitive dreams on home invasions and Chasseur appears to be trying to figure out if Roman may have had any involvement with his sister's death. There's a house in Ohio matching the description of this dream house. The family living there is shown with some ominous music playing, which likely means they're not long for this world.

Pryce shows Shelley his creation, Prycilla, and explains his plans to have Shelley's consciousness be transferred into Prycilla's body. Shelley is overjoyed at the thought of being able to have a normal human form.

Destiny pays Miranda a visit, having learned of her dalliance with Roman and Peter and not liking it one bit. Miranda tries to push Destiny out but upon initiating physical contact, Destiny has visions. She demands to see the palms of Miranda's hands and has visions of blood, snakes, and children. She tries to warn Miranda that she needs to get out, as she is in danger, but Miranda thinks it's just Destiny trying to get her away from Peter.

Shelley visits Prycilla on her own and Prycilla opens her eyes, blinking occasionally. She mirrors Shelley's movements before moving entirely on her own, alarming Shelley.

Olivia visits Roman as he's about to have another de-upir treatment, angry that he had her evicted from her cottage. She doesn't want Roman to go through with this treatment, he only has one left, nor does she approve of his intentions to do the same to his daughter when she is old enough. So she drops the bomb on him that Norman is his real father. This makes him realise that Letha wasn't his cousin, but his sister.

The men in masks begin their preparations to kill their next target. But the house Chasseur visited was an abandoned one. He calls Peter, believing he sent him on a wild goose chase just to get him out of town.

Norman and Leticia get to Buffalo, where the witness they're looking for is in a resident home. She's largely unresponsive, and even lives in a diaper and a wheelchair. Norman and Leticia ask about the murder of her parents and show her a line-up of six faces, one of which is Olivia. She becomes emotional and the nurse tells them to leave. But the woman gets their attention and reaches into her diaper, writing "3" on the wall with her faces. Number 3 of the faces was Olivia. Leticia wants to go to the police and tells Norman he should be prepared for the possibility that Marie is dead. Norman would rather she wait but there's not much he can do to stop her.

Shelley heads to the roof, contemplating suicide as she believes everyone would be better off if she hadn't come back. Shelley can't take this new body, as she says the girl is a person with a soul. Pryce tells her she means a lot to everyone and asks to show her something. He hooks Shelley up to a brain monitor and demonstrates how it lights up when she feels different emotions. He then shows Shelley that Prycilla doesn't have the same brain activity. She does the same physical reactions as Shelley but she is a blank slate. But after Shelley leaves, it's shown that Pryce had unplugged Prycilla's computer monitor in order to deceive Shelley. She does have brain activity and mental awareness.

Peter has Miranda go through the details of her dream again and Roman returns from another of his treatments. Peter speaks with Roman alone and they determine that the little boy in Miranda's dream plays on the Hemlock Grove's Little League team. The family is in Hemlock Grove.

Olivia meets with Galina, the evil Russian war criminal Doctor, and the two coordinate a plan for Galina to manipulate the formula to disrupt his final treatment. This would kill Roman. But Olivia would regain control of the corporation and gain custody of her granddaughter. In return, Galina wants to be in charge of the lab, with Pryce working beneath her.

Roman and Peter head out to save the day and Miranda grows increasingly suspicious of them, rightfully believing they are keeping secrets and up to something.

Leticia and Norman head to Chasseur and tell them what they have learned. He accepts what they are telling him and explains how his sister explored phenomena that defy explanation. He then begins to tell them about upirs.

Peter and Roman arrive at the home of the family in danger. It's just as they saw it in their dreams. They arrive just in time to save the day and get the boy outside, as bees are swarming his room (he is allergic). The parents load their son up into their car to get away. Peter goes chasing after a masked man and forces a change while Roman comes chasing after him with a shovel. They fight off and kill the two masked men. Miranda arrives in time to see Peter change back to his human form.

Norman visits Olivia and initiates a round of rough, angry sex, using it as an opportunity to steal some hair from her hairbrush to be analysed.

Miranda is shown to be loading up baby Nadia into the car. After what she just witnessed, there's no way this can be good…

Hemlock Grove is available on Netflix.

Hemlock Grove S2E6 - "Such Dire Stuff" Recap

Pryce is performing the upir-ectomy on Roman and talks him through the procedure. His organs and tissues will be reverted into stem cell status, one by one, and then re-differentiated into healthy organs, purged of the bonded retroviral fragments that dictate upir-ism. Roman must remain awake for the painful procedure that has needles injected into his body and eyes. This is the first treatment and he will require five more.

Chasseur visits Peter, who pretends to not know anything about his mother's escape. Chasseur tells Peter that he must come to him with any information regarding his sister. If he withholds anything, Chasseur will ruin him. Peter is just a means to an end.

Dr. Burdukovskaya visits Olivia. She's making the enzyme inhibitor for Pryce. Galina tells Olivia that she knows about Olivia and Roman's upir-ism. Olivia offers Galina some money to keep quiet but Galina is simply offering to scratch Olivia's back and Olivia to return the favour.

Olivia goes to confront Pryce about what he's doing to Roman. Olivia asks why Pryce would do something like this to her but he's not doing this for her, but for Roman. Roman has made the choice to die in normal human years, everything Olivia has been fighting again.

Olivia goes to visit Roman. She first asks to see the baby but the butler is under strict orders not to allow it. Olivia tries to apologise and Roman says if she ever returns, he'll rip out her lungs instead of her tongue. On her way out, the maid tells Olivia about Miranda, calling her street trash and hating her involvement with Roman and the family. She doesn't approve of Miranda acting like the baby's mother.

While Olivia is out, Leticia the private investigator hired by Norman sneaks into her house and bags a cup Olivia was drinking from. What mysteries will she uncover from Olivia's DNA?

Pryce confronts Galina. He knows she spoke to Olivia. It turns out "Galina" is actually Alyona Smertelnaya Sterva, a war criminal. Pryce shreds Galina's fake passport so she is trapped.

A young boy walking down the road meets a man with a German shepherd. The man is later shown to have let the dog go and cuts his own legs so he bleeds out in his jeep. The young boy, who it wasn't clear about whether he was still alive continues to walk down the snowy road, none the wiser.

Shelley and the little boy Jason continue to enjoy each other's friendship. Jason reads a book to her and they fall asleep, not knowing that Norman is looking for Shelley, having arrived in his van. She's sad when she wakes up and finds that Norman isn't there. She sends Jason home and goes outside where she sees Norman's van. She hears Jason being beaten by his father with a belt and breaks through the door, screaming her first word, "NO!"

The man gets his shotgun and tries to shoot Shelley, only to accidentally shoot an older woman, presumably Jason's grandmother. Shelley shoves Jason's father, and his head is impaled on a piece of furniture. Jason's mother gets Shelley in the back with a meat cleaver and Shelley shoves her, accidentally killing her when she falls into a table. Shelley pulls the cleaver out of her back and apologises to Jason, who is curled up scared in a corner. Shelley leaves and Jason is found by an older neighbour, playing a game on his parents' phone.

Shelley runs outside and Norman gets her into his van before calling Pryce while on the road. Pryce is amazed to learn that Shelley is alive and promises to take care of her in the White Tower. He will shut down the surveillance system and get her into a high security suite so she remains hidden.

Miranda goes to Peter's where a party is going on, hosted by Andreas and Destiny. She tells Peter how her parents kicked her out when she was 16 and the various things she'd do to get by, including selling her blood. The next morning, Destiny confronts Miranda. She knows Miranda slept with Roman and thinks she's lying about the car accident. She threatens to hurt Miranda if she doesn't pack up and leave Hemlock Grove.

At the hospital, Pryce tells Shelley that Norman is getting the rest of the family to come see her. Shelley tells him that she is happy now. Now that she can speak, what will she say next? And to whom?

Peter asks Destiny where Miranda is and Destiny says that Miranda is working her, and that she is sleeping with Roman. Peter wants the keys so he can head to Roman's and see Miranda. Miranda has just gotten home and tells Roman that she was with Peter, and that she slept with him. Roman doesn't have much of a reaction and Miranda goes to feed the baby. She then takes the baby to the park, gently pushing her on the swing, noting how she still doesn't have a name. It's then that a truck drives by with the words, "Hemlock Gospel Mission, Feeling Hopeless? We can help." Olivia watches the two from afar.

Peter comes to Roman's house, demanding to see Miranda, and the two get into a fist-fight before realising they don't know why they're fighting. Miranda walks in the with the baby. Peter didn't know about the baby and Roman tells Peter it's Letha's. Peter asks what the baby's name is, Roman hasn't named it yet, and Miranda says the baby's name is "Nadia," meaning Hope. Peter cradles the baby and tells her that he loved her mother.

Miranda brings the baby upstairs to change her and put her down for a nap. Roman tells Peter that he would have told Peter about the baby but he had already left town. They appear to have made up.

A few men come and find the dead man in his jeep. An older man gets into the passenger's seat and calls the dead man weak. He takes a necklace off the man before exiting the jeep and saying, "ego the absolvo," meaning "I absolve you" in Latin. He throws a grenade underneath the jeep, destroying the evidence.

Miranda tells Roman and Peter her favourite poem before laying it on real thick, complimenting the two tormented young men. She then begins to head upstairs and calls back to them, "Well… are you coming or not?" Peter and Roman share a confused look before following after her.

Hemlock Grove S2E5 - "Hemlock Diego's Policy Player's Dream Book" Recap

Roman is chomping on some raw meat but has to hide it when Miranda comes into the kitchen. She's asking about the baby but his hunger is too strong so he attacks her, taking a huge bite out of her neck as blood comes gushing out. Luckily for both of them, it's just a daydream. He leaves Pryce a voicemail before returning to his conversation with Miranda. She's in a panic over why she's lactating when she's never been pregnant so he offers to send her to Dr. Spivak, the family doctor.

Peter's still locked up and warns Michael about the dreams he has that predict deaths, including one that he had last night about a kid who was underwater and a German shepherd. Michael has to let him go because the woman and her son left town so no one is around to press charges. But he warns Peter that he'll put him away if he keeps making trouble.

Olivia has another appointment with Pryce, who informs her about Roman's car. He says this is good news but is concerned about a cut on her leg from when she was shaving. He determines that she is ageing at a rapid rate and that she will only have a human lifespan. The idea of only having such a short time to live alarms her greatly.

Shelley's little friend Jason comes to visit, with his parent's cell phone in hand. She uses it to cheek her e-mail and finds all the messages from Norman. She sends him a message to say that she is okay and that trying to help her will only cause him more trouble.

Peter and Destiny meet Frieda, Lynda's lawyer. There's new charges being brought against Lynda and she's looking at ten years in prison. Peter grows enraged and throws one of her bookcases to the floor. Destiny is concerned about Peter's condition but he tells her he hasn't been changing during a bad moon and hasn't been investigating his dreams. Liar. They go visit Lynda in prison, who is sporting a black eye. Lynda says she's being transferred to another prison, and jokes that hopefully the food will be better there.

Roman is at Godfrey Medical Center and receives a note from Pryce, telling him to go the S5 medical closet. When Roman arrives, he sees a naked blonde white woman in a tank. Pryce tells him she is Prycilla, the first human to be born in an extrauterine environment. But what he actually wants to show Roman is in another room. He tells Roman it's a product from a wide spectrum of genetic experiments he's been conducting, repurposed as nutrient concentrate for upirs. Upon closer inspection, it's clear that this tank is filled with bloody body parts and fluids. Pryce pours Roman a cup and Roman immediately wants more. Pryce warns Roman that his metabolism needs to adjust but Roman knocks him aside and begins gorging himself, before getting sick.

Miranda has her appointment with Dr. Spivak, who after a random rant about Norwegians being a loathsome bunch gives her some advice on her condition. She has pseudocyesis, which causes the body to act like it's pregnant even when it's not. She says that she hadn't even been around the baby when she began to lactate but he tells her not to worry.

Destiny brews up a batch of Grandma Lumilda's psychoactive brain fog. When Lynda is en route to her new prison, the concoction that has been spread all over the front seats of the car causes the drivers to think there are spiders crawling over their faces. They stop the car and run out, leaving Peter and Destiny and her boyfriend Andreas to break her out of the armoured vehicle. Andreas has gotten Lynda a ticket to Bucharest and a Romanian passport.

Olivia is coming to terms with her mortality. She watches the clock ticking and decides to dress up and go out for a night on the town at a karaoke bar. She turns down an invitation to receive bottle service and then goes up on stage to sing a song.

Norman shows Leticia, the private investigator he hired, the e-mail he received from Shelley's e-mail. He also wants her to investigate Marie's disappearance. Leticia wants to question Olivia, the last person to see Marie, but Norman says she has been bothered enough. Norman wants her to focus on the fact that she disappeared after promising to sue the White Tower.

Miranda takes the medication she received from Dr. Spivek but begins lactating again. After calming her frustration, she visits the baby and holds her. Roman comes home and is angry to learn that Miranda mentioned the baby's existence to Dr. Spivek after he told her not to. He tells Miranda that the baby's grandmother is dangerous, hence his keeping her secret. He admits that the baby is his and that the mother died during childbirth. He tells Miranda he's grateful to her and after a bit, kisses her, and then the two have sex.

Shelley is forced to hide when the neighbourhood watch comes charging into the basement. She then uses the phone to e-mail Norman, asking for help.

The woman Peter had tried to warn is on the phone, telling the person that Jack is upstairs having a bath. But the water is beginning to flood from upstairs. Outside her window, a German Shepherd billboard is visible. She sees the water on the floor and runs upstairs, finding Jack dead in the bathtub. A whitemasked man comes up behind her.

Peter gets a visit from Michael, who says that the sheriff from the town over reported that the woman drowned her son in the tub before jumping out of the window 10 stories up. Michael seems to believe Peter now and wants to work with him to stop these murders.

Post-sex, Roman listens to Miranda's pulse and considers eating her due to his hunger. After she walks off to feed the baby, Roman becomes emotional and goes to visit Pryce. Hemlock Grove S2E4 - "Bodily Fluids" Recap

Two teenagers are out for a midnight rendezvous. When the girl goes off to pee, she discovers the torn up head of Christina, which is rotting and infested with maggots. Police are called and arrive to deal with the body and investigate.

At Godfrey Institute, Norman threatens Pryce, believing him to be responsible for Marie's disappearance. Roman orders blueprints of the Institute's subbasement, wanting to uncover Pryce's secrets. Miranda comes back after her night out with Peter, leaving those details out of her conversation with Roman. He begins to feel ill, focusing in on her heartbeat and feeling his blood thirst building. He panics briefly, apologises, and heads outside where he runs into Norman. Norman asks about Christina's gravesite, saying that police found footprints in the area matching Shelley's. Norman has re-hired an investigator to look into Shelley's case.

Peter is attempting to decipher his dream when the dealers, Richie and Dom, come crashing into Destiny's place with baseball bats. They want their money back and begin beating Peter. Peter doesn't have it so they get violent, leading Peter to partially change and use his were-strength to break one of their noses. The other grabs an ice pack from the freezer, following Peter's orders, and the two run out of the house while Peter feels sick from the partial change. He even has lacerations on his abdomen.

Miranda is doing laundry when she spots a baby blanket in one of the other machines. Her curiosity is piqued but the butler interrupts her snooping to return a sock. Her curiosity is growing about the door that no one talks about. There's a coded key pad that keeps it locked. She later begins to lactate, despite never having given birth to any children.

Roman's bloodlust is shortening his temper, as he snaps at a secretary and some other employees for their incompetence. The head of HR later shows up and sends him out of the building for a de-escalation period. When going out for a walk in the town, he grows consumed by his hunger, staring at a bloody slab of meat in a butcher shop.

Sheriff Michael Chasseur, Clementine's brother, visits Olivia to ask about Marie Godfrey's disappearance. In the course of his questioning, Clementine also comes up in the conversation. Olivia lies, saying she doesn't know anything, but it seems unlikely that Michael believes her. Michael moves on to questioning Norman, asking about the nature of his relationship with Marie, and Marie's relationship with Olivia. Michael points out that Marie and Olivia had met behind his back, which comes as a revelation to Norman.

Peter continues on with his investigation into the contents of his dreams. He finds a plane company that does promotional banners but as he drives off to follow this new lead, he begins to realise that it may be too late to stop his premonition. But in true dramatic flair, Peter arrives just in time to get in the path of the White Mask man driving a car to try to hit the little boy, Jackson. The masked man gets a good look at Peter before driving off. Jackson's mother comes out and Peter aggressively warns her that someone is after her and her son and that they need to get out of town. She says she will, fully afraid of both the near-death of her son and Peter's behaviour. Unfortunately, he is later pulled over by cops and brought in for questioning by Sheriff Chasseur. The woman lodged a complaint with her local sheriff before skipping town and now Michael wants answers on various events from that took place in season 1.

Richie and Dom arrive back home and find their boss, Beaumont, waiting for them with a shotgun in hand. They don't have his money and he has one hell of a punishment for them. They're forced to take off their clothes, after which he hogties and partially castrates them. He says he's only taking one ball from each of them because he "believes in second chances."

Norman writes an e-mail to Shelley, not knowing if she'll get it but wanting to try anyway. Shelley is still being helped by the little boy with the abnormal toe. For once, Shelley has someone who doesn't mistreat, condescend, or manipulate her. They're hiding in the basement of an abandoned home next door to the boy's when they hear voices upstairs. Some junkies have broken in and begin shooting up. Shelley and the boy then hear the boy's drunk father yelling for him. The boy promises to save half his supper for her, and kisses her on the forehead before she lifts him up and out through the window. Shelley is saddened when she hears the boy's father speaking cruelly to him.

Norman visits Olivia to confront her about keeping her meeting Marie secret from him. She claims she was trying to protect him, saying that Marie had said horrible things about him and that Marie blamed Norman for Letha's death. Per usual, Olivia utilises her strong manipulative skills to get Norman back on her side.

Miranda's lactation is too weird for her to process. She packs her things up and prepares to leave but then, upon seeing that the mysterious door is unguarded, she plays with key code until she gets the right combination. She enters the room and finds Roman's crying baby. As soon as she enters, the baby stops crying and giggles at her.

Roman succumbs to his bloodlust by stalking and killing a homeless man, feeding on him after promising to take good care of the man's remaining family. Upon leaving the alley, he throws out a wad of cash to distract the homeless witnesses but on his way out, Michael Chasseur sees him.

Peter is in a holding cell in jail for 24 hours and has another dream. He shouts for help, trying to warn the police but no one will listen to him.

Roman returns home and appears emotional  over what he has done, having already wiped the blood off his face, though there's still some on his clothes. He spots Miranda's bags on the stairs and upon going up them, finds the door to his baby's room open. Upon entering, he finds Miranda breastfeeding, looking just as confused as he is to find her doing so.
