DC Universe, Netflix, Amazon, and FX Bring Outdoor Displays to Comic Con

True to form of the ever-expanding scale of San Diego Comic Con, numerous TV networks and streaming platforms brought their own (interactive) exhibits for various portions of downtown San Diego, largely in the areas surrounding the convention center itself. Comedy Central put together an exhibit largely focusing on their long-running series, "South Park", which is set to being airing it's 22nd season later this year.

In the latest wave of original programming, Amazon Prime is set to adapt a TV series in the Jack Ryan franchise. John Krasinski will be starring in the titular role, following in the footsteps of other big-name actors including Ben Affleck and Chris Pine.

Their outdoor display spanned more than one block, and even included an impressive giant model helicopter to play into the spy/action theme of the franchise.

Anyone care to spoil what this giant arachnoid display atop a subway stop was promoting?

AMC frequently sets up a prime, central spot to promote their long-running fan-favourite series, "The Walking Dead", and 2018 was no exception.

DC Universe is also expanding it's power and presence, with their highly anticipated "Titans" series set to premiere some time later this year.

Netflix booked a massive display right on the main street to promote an animated fantasy sitcom called "Disenchantment" which will be premiering on August 17 and was created by Matt Groening (who is best known for creating "The Simpsons" and "Futurama".

NBC brought one of the more unique displays, with a full house constructed in order to promote their hit fantasy-comedy television series "The Good Place" which will premiere its third season on September 27.

Despite already having been released months prior, Warner Bros. set up a display to promote the Rampage film (based on the video game), which starred Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and follows a recent upspike in Hollywood's preference for adapting kaiju content for big blockbusters.

FX brought displays to promote some of their series including animated spy-comedy "Archer" and "Legion" which have both been renewed for new seasons that will air in 2019.

Following the success of the 2014 series "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" (which was a follow-up to the 1980 television series "Cosmos: A Personal Voyage"), FOX has announced another season titled "Cosmos: Possible Worlds" which will air in 2019 on Fox and National Geographic channels.

Friday at Comic Con, Let the Circus Begin

As the Saturday gets closer, the craziness that is comic con gets a bit more concentrated. With programming spread out between the convention center and nearby hotels, you would think that it wouldn't feel so crowded, but that's just not the case. At this point, if you're at comic con, you have to make some tough decisions. The programming is all really good, all at the same time.

Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion open up Hall H with the Con Man Panel, where they received a very warm reception. Nathan ever the charmer, repeatedly told the crowd how he ran a tight ship, which is no surprise that he had to with jokester Alan Tudyk on hand.

Over in Ballroom 20, there was plenty of nostalgia in the air. Bones cast Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, TJ Thyne, Michaela Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and John Boyd, along with EPs Jonathan Collier and Michael Peterson gathered to talk about their final season. They opened with a montage of their biggest moments from the previous 11 seasons, before getting down to business. There was a whopping 20 minutes shown, which wasn't nearly enough, and a promise of closure.

The Walking Dead panel offered no such promises of closure. Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, Josh McDermitt, Ross Marquand, Christian Serratos, and Jeffery Dean Morgan, with EPs Scott M. Gimple, Robert Kirkman, Gale Ann Hurd, Dave Alpert and Greg Nicotero took the stage with Chris Hardwick serving as moderator. No, we didn't learn who Lucille took down, but we did get a look at the new season, which isn't coming back until October. We got a glimpse of the Kingdom with King Ezekiel and Shiva, lots of walkers, and a promise of a major showdown after the heartbreaking season opening and its fallout.

While we did attend many signings on Friday, the Walking Dead on wasn't one of them. The Convention floor is always a mad house, but its nothing compared to what its like when the Walking Dead cast takes the floor. With AMC's booth so close, Fox decided to close their booth, and just watch things. The signings we did make it to:

Powerless Signing: Vanessa Hudgens, Danny Pudi, Alan Tudyk, EP Ben Queen, Michael Patrick Jann

iZombie Signing: Rose McIver, Robert Buckley, Steven Weber, Malcolm Goodwin, Andrea Savage, Aly Michalka, Rahul Kohli, and David Anders.

Teen Wolf Signing: Tyler Posey, Dylan Sprayberry, Khylin Rhambo, Cody Christian

Archer Signing: H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Jessica Walter, Chris Parnell, Judy Greer, Amber Nash, Lucky Yates, EP Adam Reed, Matt Thompson, Casey Willis

Salem Signing: Shane West, Janet Montgomery, Seth Gabel, Ashley Madekwe, Iddo Goldberg, Elise Eberle, EPs Brannon Braga and Adam Simon
Teen Wolf Signing: JR Bourne, Ian Bohen

Scream Queens Signing:Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, John Stamos, Taylor Lautner

Archer S6E13 (S6 Finale) - "Drastic Voyage: Part II" Recap

The disoriented team gets word that they have accidentally been injected into the Doctor's foot instead of his brain like the mission had dictated. They have less than an hour to go to complete the mission and determine that the best course of action is to go into a blood vein which will whiz them up to the brain in a minute. It will feel to them like being put into hyper speed. Cyril tells Ray he should apologise to Lana for being so racist about his new hand and ray is horrified to learn that this is the impression he has been giving to everyone, saying he was upset because of it being a robot hand. Ray undoes his seatbelt but it's just then that they enter the blood vein which sends him reeling to the back of the ship and badly injured, meaning it's up to Cyril to steer the ship.

The team reaches the brain with 40 minutes left to destroy the blood clot. Lana is checking on Ray while Archer will work on the clot. They're also running out of oxygen because TV's Michael Gray snuck on board. White blood cells begin attacking the ship and Archer must head out of the ship to attack the cells himself, with Pam acting as backup since if Lana goes, it'll risk orphaning their baby. They fight off the cells, destroy the clot, and Cyril must hurry to the tear duct since the ship is on the verge of reverting to its original size. But the ship doesn't get out quite fast enough and the ship kills the Doctor. The team has now been abandoned by the CIA and are out of jobs. But Lana isn't interested in getting back in, wanting to put the life of her baby first. She also deduces that the team was set up to fail anyway since their bosses have always wanted them to fail. Archer rallies them to stay together but not under the thumb of the CIA. Mallory points out that they need to do something for money and Archer says he has a few ideas for that.

Archer will return to FX for season 7.

Archer S6E12 - "Drastic Voyage: Part I" Recap

The team must go on a mission involving a man named Dr. Kovacs. Kovacs had developed some shrinking/micro technology. Due to their abysmal track record, the team is threatened with losing their jobs if they do not complete this mission, which is to be shrunk microscopically and go into Kovacs' body in order to destroy a blood clot in his brain. Also Ray is an emotional, belligerent mess throughout the entire time because of the identity crisis his new African-American hand is causing.

Lana forces Archer to confront the fact that if they are going to die on this mission, their baby will be raised by Lana's parents and not Mallory. Archer insists that Mallory is not the worst thing that could happen to the baby. Archer is in denial over grasping the concept of his own mortality. The team makes their final preparations as they prepare to undergo the miniaturisation, which takes place successfully. The team must then prepare to be injected into Dr. Kovacs, with only 59 minutes till they will revert to their original size. But the state of the mission is put in jeopardy when Krieger comes crashing into the operating room trying to stop the procedure.

Archer airs on Thursdays on FX at 10PM.

Archer S6E11 - "Achub Y Morfilod" Recap

Archer kidnaps Lana to bring her to Wales to try to patch things up following Lana's discovery of a vagina in his sink. He has left the baby with Mallory acting as babysitter. Lana is of course furious and tries to strangle Archer, causing him to crash the car into the yard of the Welsh cottage at which they'll be staying. Lana's still angry about Katja showing up but Archer insists that nothing happened between them and that their co-workers are clearly the ones to blame for her showing up to begin with. Lana seems to believe him but now she's still angry because of the fact that Archer drugged and took her away. Her temper further flares when Lana learns that there's a work element to their trip.

Archer expects them to help some Welsh separatists. They're on the run from MI5 and though Mallory had wanted Archer and Lana to do this assignment, Lana doesn't see the point in helping since England is an ally to the US. These two not-so-genius separatists had bombed a dam as retribution for some flooding that the English had done to push Welsh folks out of a small town. Lana also gets into a fight with Mallory over the fact that Mallory is trying to starve the baby into losing weight.

Lana overhears Archer talking to the two men about the fact that he didn't hook up with Katja but did share a goodbye kiss with her. But before she can get into another argument with him over this particular point, she spots an armed car, realising that the men must have been followed. Archer and Gordon, one of the men, must hide in the closet due to Archer's injured, while Lana and the other man must pose as "Randy," the alias Archer used on his fake passport.

The MI5 agent comes in to question them for the whereabouts of the Welsh terrorists. Lana is able to get the man to buy the story that her and "Randy" are there trying to save their marriage but then Archer comes crashing out of the closet because of his jealousy. Lana knocks out the MI5 agent so she and Archer can argue all their issues out but then they need to figure out what to do with MI5 agent otherwise he'll let the rest of MI5 know that the CIA are bankrolling their organisation. "Randy" whose real name is Lloyd decides that they need to kill the agent and then tries to kill Lana and Archer when they don't want to go along with it but Lana easily snatches the weapon back but now they need to fight off the larger terrorist. Lana and Archer kidnap the MI5 agent and leave the terrorists to fend for themselves.

In a side story, the rest of the team perform a surgery in order to give Ray a new hand but it ends up being that of an African-American's.

Archer airs on Thursdays on FX at 10PM.

Archer S6E10 - "Reignition Sequence" Recap

Archer and Lana have gotten back together and the flaunting of their affection and sexual attraction for each other disgusts Cyril, Ray, Pam, Cheryl, and Krieger, who decide to work together to break the couple up. Cyril proposes baiting Archer with someone he's incredibly attracted to, while Cheryl launches into a long-winded proposal of hiring someone to kidnap Archer and Lana's baby who will be sent to Bhutan to be trained as an assassin by Raz al Ghul.

Post-broom-closet-hookup, Lana notes how her relationship with Archer is better this time because he's more mature, caring, and focused on Lana instead of every other woman he encounters. Meanwhile, Team-Breakup is trying to figure out how to break up Archer and Lana. They're trying to find a beautiful prostitute whom Archer has never had sex with. But Krieger says they need to find a woman who holds a strong psychological hold over Archer. The only woman Archer ever cared about was Katya so they call her up and ask her to come over, which she agrees to do.

Archer is looking for Woodhouse, whom he hasn't seen in weeks, and is making preparations for a stir-Friday date with Lana. But when looking around his apartment, Archer finds Katya waiting for him. She tries to seduce him and he struggles to fight off her resists but then his sleeve catches on fire from one of the many candles she lit. Katya then aggressively begins to try to pull his clothes off, which Archer continues to resist, albeit it with much difficulty.

Lana must take the stairs (the elevator is broken) while Archer tells Katya how he is involved with Lana now, has a child with her, and is in love with his best friend. Katya must leave from the balcony and kisses Archer goodbye. Team Break-up has been watching in on everything from the surveillance footage from Krieger's hidden cameras but realises they've made a mistake at hearing everything Archer admitted. They take on running up the stairs after Lana but when they catch up, all that is admitted is that Cyril is still in love with Lana. Lana briefly gets into an argument with Archer, thinking he hasn't changed since he's drunk and hasn't cooked stirfry but when when she gets to the bedroom and finds the romantic set-up, she can't wait to get hot and heavy with Archer. But then Lana goes to the bathroom, she finds Katya's vagina in the sink. (Before Katya left, she had said that she had left something in the bathroom and Archer had promised to mail whatever it was to her).

Archer airs on Thursdays on FX at 10PM.

Archer S6E9 - "Pocket Listing" Recap

Slater is tasked with giving the group their latest assignment which involves an elaborate set-up for them to swindle the Durhani royal family. They need to steal the hand prints and retinal scans of the prince while he is going on a tour of places to potentially live in the city. Cheryl is posing as a realtor who will show him her mansion with the intent that he'll possibly buy it. Archer, Pam, and Lana are posing as butlers/maids. Archer is determined to have sex with the queen but Pam questions the state of Archer's relationship with Lana, which seems to still be up in the air. Archer is appalled to realise that Pam may very well be his best friend.

Lana is told about Archer's plan to make her jealous by Cyril, who was hoping she'd turn to him to make him jealous but instead, Lana plans to just bang the prince instead. Gillette is supposed to be on site to handle things. Ray sprays the guards with a chemical that makes them need to use the bathroom immediately while Cheryl is showing the Queen and Prince around the garden. Slater is running the show and repeatedly tranqs Krieger because he has deemed him a nuisance.

Archer is in position for the next phase of the mission but Lana is nowhere to be found, though she's supposed to be with him. Cyril tells Archer of Lana's plans to bang the prince and he takes off in a rage to try to stop her. When Lana meets the prince, he immediately becomes aroused. The Queen is set to take an elevator ride with Pam while Lana will take the prince on a more scenic route. Archer tranqs Slater and tries to find Lana while Ray must fight off a monstrous man-eating plant.

Slater and Krieger wake and find their surveillance feeds in a state of disarray. Lana is well on her way to seducing the prince but Archer tranqs the prince, making him unable to proceed with the intercourse. Slater arrives, preparing to collect the hand prints and retinal scans of the prince but Archer tranqs him and gets into an argument with Lana over the state of their unresolved feelings but then the two begin to hookup. But before they can get anything going, the queen walks in in a rage and is tranqed too, but not before she calls for the guards who come running. Slater wakes and is enraged by the disarrayed state of the mission. The group escapes through some secret passageways while Ray is shown to have successfully fought off the man-eating plant, but not without losing his hand. But Archer and Lana stay behind in a different secret room so they can hook up. Seriously.

Mallory is furious because now the Durhani ambassador will be recalled after he gives a damning speech at the UN. The group places the blame on Slater for making an overly-complicated hand and then Archer makes an insensitive joke about Ray losing his hand yet again.

Archer airs on Thursdays on FX at 10PM.

Archer S6E8 - "The Kanes" Recap

Lana and Archer take a trip to Berkeley so Lana's parents can meet their granddaughter. Lana stresses to Archer that he needs to make a better impression than the first time he met them, when showed up to dinner drunk as can be. Also, her parents are operating under the impression that Lana is studying to get her PhD (as is Archer), having no idea that their daughter is actually a spy. Lana tells Archer she'll kill him if he tells them.

Archer goes in the hot tub but is made uncomfortable when Lana's parents come in entirely naked and force Archer to be naked too. He makes things very awkward when he thinks that Lana's parents are propositioning him for a threesome when they were actually planning on sharing a secret. Things are interrupted when Lana's microbiologist father's research is stolen by a group of masked gunmen. Archer shoots after them and is able to shoot the driver which causes them to crash. Lana's parents demand to know why Archer has a gun but there's little time to talk as Archer, Lana, and Lana's father must chase the rest of the gunmen through the streets of San Francisco.

As this is going on, Krieger, Pam, Cheryl, Cyril, and Krieger's virtual girlfriend run out of gas in a rough neighbourhood while on their way to the league bowling night. Pam must then tow the car singlehandedly while no one else will help, though they certainly pretend to. Pam pushes the group to get rid of all the bowling balls so the car will be lighter and easier to tow. Cheryl does so but they end up hitting a car full of gang members. Pam recognises one of the gang members from their time in a fight club together and patches things up by promising that Krieger will fix the car while she takes him out to a titty-bar.

Lana's father reveals that his research was intended to be a new renewable fuel source out of algae which could reproduce infinitely and the only by-product would be water. It was potentially worth millions or even billions of dollars. As the chase carries on, Lana is forced to admit to her father that she is a spy. Lana's father is disappointed in Lana for not pursuing a career in science and that she could never tell her parents how she felt because of her fear of letting them down. Her father assures her that he and her mother will always love her even when she makes stupid decisions like having a baby with Archer.

Archer is preparing to ram the car full of gunmen but before doing so, he presses Lana's father to say what the secret was that he was planning on saying and it turns out it was that they wanted to invite Archer to the Kane family reunion. As the shootout was going on, they learn that the group of gunmen was a CIA-team led by Christian Slater, who says that the research is a threat to national security since it will flare up further conflict in the Middle East if no one needs their oil anymore. He then tells Lana's father to check his bank account, in which a large deposit has been sent and when he learns that this will be a monthly deposit for the rest of the life, he is more than happy to surrender his life's work. On the plane ride home, Lana apologises to Archer by hurting his feelings and not inviting him to the family reunion and Archer apologises for trying to have a three-way with her parents.

Archer airs on Thursdays on FX at 10PM.

Archer S6E7 - "Nellis" Recap

Archer decided to cope with his hurt feelings after Lana set up the kidnapping/hostage situation to test his parenting abilities, by going on a bender in Vegas. His drunken shenanigans resulted in his getting put on the no-fly and no-train lists. He uses a pay phone (those things still exist?) to call Cheryl and ask her to sen the family's private jet, the Sky Tunt, so he could get home. When the plane arrives the whole team, minus Lana and Mallory, are on board.

Ray is flying the plane so he can get some practice in and when he flies over Area 51, Krieger and Pam   are excited about being near the infamous area so they pressure Ray to fly closer. When the plane is hit by a missile, Ray is forced to land the plane in Area 51. Once they land, Archer pretends to be CIA Agent Slater. With Slater's authentication code and his fast-talking ways, he's able to keep them all from getting killed. Meanwhile, Pam and Krieger are freaking out over getting to see actual aliens in real life though the rest of the group miss it because their back are turned. So they decide to go chasing after the aliens. Pam and Krieger set off the alarms for being in sector 9, a restricted area. Archer and the rest of the group must go after the two. Pam and Krieger encounter the aliens who communicate with them telepathically. Archer gets into an altercations with the Area 51 guards while Pam and Krieger are emotional from their encounter with the aliens. The group all gets away after absconding with some uniforms and then an Air Force plane. The group also refuses to believe Pam and Krieger's story about meeting aliens.

Back at the office, Mallory is trying to pressure Lana into letting her name the baby. She's offering her a hefty amount of money to let Lana name the baby after her. When Mallory gets emotional, Lana is willing to budge and have baby Abbijean's middle name be Mallory. Mallory settles on paying $25,000 for that if they also throw in a white-church christening.

Archer airs on Thursdays on FX at 10PM.

Archer S6E6 - "Sitting" Recap

Lana leaves baby AJ to be babysat by Archer and is concerned about Archer's ability to look after the baby. But not long after she leaves, Archer begins drinking and then Slater arrives with a bullet wound and a Pakistanit agent named Farouk. The pair are looking for a safe house and medical attention for Slater's wound. Slater steps out for a moment, during which Farouk pulls a gun on Archer and shoots him in the shoulder when he isn't taking the situation seriously. Farouk wants Archer to drive him to the office so he can hack the mainframe and Archer needs to do as he says because Farouk has his hands on baby AJ. When they arrive at the office, they find the rest of the team is playing poker. Archer makes his presence known and Farouq pretends to be AJ's manny. Archer and Farouq head to the mainframe and the team realises that something must be awry. They come barging in to help Archer and AJ, whom Pam takes to the top of the building much like King Kong. Archer puts himself in the line of fire to try to get the team to safety. But after a bit, Lana shows up and reveals that the whole things was set up by her so she could test Archer could be trusted to take care of the baby. Farouq is an actor and he ends up inviting the rest of the group to come out to a show sometime.

Archer airs on Thursdays on FX at 10PM.

Archer S6E5 - "Vision Quest" Recap

Mallory has called the team in for an important 7:00 am meeting but as they hurry to make it to the top floor, the elevator breaks down and they find themselves trapped. Their phones aren't working because Krieger had installed a device on top of the elevator that keeps them from using their phone. They can't access it because the hatch is locked from the outside. Also, the elevator phone is dead. The team begins to freak out and fight over the lack of food. Archer fires off a shot to make them stop and everyone needs a moment for their ears to stop ringing. They consider rationing their food but then decide to hold onto it. Further problems arise when Pam announces she has to pee after chugging a third of a 40. They then mull over the idea of jumping all at once so they can make the elevator move down unjammed. Pam ends up peeing her pants and drops her drawers to try to wipe it up. Milton the toast machine comes back and ends up bringing back a lot of toast. Ray is able to get a half a bar of signal when sticking his head out of the small opening but when he tries calling 911, they won't take him seriously and block his number. The group then begins laughing because Ray was mistaken for a woman by the operator. The group tells Ray to try calling Mallory but the number ends up going to the elevator phone instead. The group becomes furious at Archer and a brawl breaks out. Mallory then arrives downstairs and uses her master key to reset the elevator. When the doors open, she is horrified to find the operatives all fighting with each other, several of whom are naked, and "touchable" is scrawled on the wall in blood. Mallory then says that the meeting was for a team-building exercise. Lana is angry, believing that the elevator getting stuck was deliberate as part of that exercise but Mallory denies this, saying they were going to watch "Vision Quest," which she pulls out from her purse.

Archer airs on Thursdays on FX at 10PM.

Archer S6E4 - "Edie's Wedding" Recap

Pam is an emotional wreck at work and Archer considers ignoring her but opts to ask what's wrong instead. Pam says her sister is getting married and has only asked Pam to be a bridesmaid instead of maid of honour. The main of honour instead is a woman named who had "stolen" a boy whom Pam had liked. Archer offers to be Pam's date to the wedding, which will be in rural Wisconsin.

When Pam and Archer head to the airport, they're spotted by Barry Dylan, who decides to follow them to Wisconsin and enact his revenge. Lana is angry to learn that Archer has run off because he was supposed to look after the baby while Lana went to survival camp. When Pam's sister Edie shows up to the motel, Pam attacks her. When Edie starts throwing verbal low-blows, Pam runs out upset and gets abducted by Barry.

Barry calls Archer to tell him about kidnapping Pam and that the abandoned farm they're heading to, Edie knows the location of. Edie doesn't want to help so Archer knocks her out and kidnaps her to make her do so. Archer and Barry start to fight while Edie begins insulting Pam. Edie attacks Barry instead when he insults her. Pam ends up saving Barry when he's choking her by shooting her with Archer's explosive shotgun shells. The group sets the farm on fire and leave but Barry's mechanical endoskeleton is still alive. Edie is furious to learn that her husband cheated on her at the rehearsal dinner and when Edie yells at Pam, demanding to know if she's happy for ruining her life, Pam says yes and that it's all she ever wanted.

Archer airs on Thursdays on FX at 10PM.

Archer S6E3 - "The Archer Sanction" Recap

Archer, Lana, and Ray are heading up to climb the Swiss Alps for a mission on which they must kill someone. Archer is annoyed that Ray didn't bring gum to help his ears pop. The target is apparently responsible for many political assassinations. Lana and Ray then become angry at Archer for not reading the mission dossier since now he and they all don't know specifically who the target is. After Archer and Lana leave the car, it's revealed that Ray does have gum.

Upon reaching the retreat, they meet Crash McCarron, the man running everything. There's other folks in attendance, including Hans from Germany, Mario from Italy, and Michiko from Japan. Archer tells Lana that he remembers that the target was from a country that was an Axis power during WWII. So it's not of any help at all. Crash advises the group to slow down on the drinking since they have quite a climb the next morning but Archer of course ignores the warning.

Lana pushes Archer to use the SAT phone to call Mallory and learn who the target is. Lana also wants to know how baby AJ is. The conversation is tense but it turns out the phone call is just an elaborate voicemail set up by Mallory as revenge on Archer for all the times he did that sort of thing. Lana calls Cheryl demanding to talk to Mallory but she doesn't know where she is, either. This further stresses out Lana since Mallory is looking after the baby.

Lana calls back the next morning and Pam answers. Everyone is hungover from partying the night before. The climb has begun, but Lana wants Pam to check in on Mallory at her apartment. Crash tells Lana he has a bad feeling from one of the other climbers but before he can say which one, they all go flying down the mountain and nearly down a ravine but Archer manages to stick a pick in the mountain before they're all killed. However, Michiko falls down and the team must try to pull her up but Crash goes rappelling down the ravine to try to get her and will give the signal of when to pull.

The rest of the crew heads over to Mallory's where Cheryl gets sick from the night before while Pam begins chowing down on a radish from Mallory's kitchen. Mallory and the baby are nowhere to be found.

Crash comes back up and says that the fall killed Michiko but they have to leave the body because of the oncoming storm. The teams have to split in groups of 3 and slip into the two small tents, naked, to survive the freezing cold storm. The following morning, they try to call the team and get an update on Mallory and baby AJ but no one is answering, as they're still hungover. When they go outside, they find that Hans and Mario are naked and dead in the snow. It would appear they died from hypothermia but then they find that they each have belts around their necks. Archer then remembers that Crash is the one they're supposed to kill. Crash admits to killing the other three, as they were from Interpol and after him. Crash pulls a knife on Lana, to which Archer responds by drawing his gun. Lana screams at them all to shut up, so she can demand Archer explain what he meant by Axis power, since Archer was triggered to remember that Crash was the target based on the fact that McCarron is an Irish name. Lana berates him for not remembering that Ireland was neutral in the war. Archer shoots Crash in the arm but to triggers an avalanche.

Finally, we see that Mallory had taken baby AJ because she was having her apartment bug-bombed. This explains why other team members were getting sick in Mallory's apartment. As for Archer, Lana, and Ray, they all survive the avalanche and live to bicker another day.

Archer airs on Thursdays on FX at 10PM.

Archer S6E2 - "Three to Tango" Recap

Christian Slater shows up as a cartoon version of himself to bring our favourite team of misfit spies a mission: they must extract a free-lancer in Argentina whose cover has been blown. The twist? It's one of Archer's many nemeses, Conway Stern. This is when they learn that Conway's apparent betrayal of them was all part of his mission to sell phoney technology to the Chinese. Archer is still holding onto his grudge because Conway had literally stabbed him in the back.

When Archer and Lana reach Argentine, Lana implored him not to go on a revenge rampage against Conway, but Archer immediately does just that as soon as he lays eyes on him. While the two wreak havoc in the apartment Conway is staying at, Lana calmly walks over to the stove to make herself some tea. Have we mentioned she's a goddess? When Conway gets Archer's back against the wall, Archer tears at one of his forearms and discovers that Conway now has a robotic hand (remember his was torn off in his last confrontation with Archer). Lana knocks Conway on the head with the kettle since he's out of sugar and thus ends the fight.

Conway's intel is that the Argentinians have a computer file that has the real identity of every CIA operative operating in Central and South America. The Argentinians are threatening to trade it to the Soviets and the clock is ticking to break in and retrieve the file.

Back at the office, Mallory, Pam, and Cheryl are all in a panic because they've lost baby AJ. Mallory tries to retrace her steps and then remembers how Krieger was skulking around near the time she lost track of the baby. They head to his lab and find that the baby is in there. It appears he was trying to turn her into a bear or something equally weird. The important thing is that they get the baby back. The group agrees to keep these happenings a secret from Lana and then Mallory threatens to shoot Krieger's genitals off if he ever tries anything like that again.

Archer, Lana, and Conway infiltrate their target by having Archer pose as a driver while Lana and Conway pose as higher ups. After getting in, Archer ends up in a fight with guards while Lana and Conway are still stuck inside the car. Conway tries to hit on Lana but backs off when he learns she's had a baby (so basically he's misogynistic trash) and Archer manages to take care of all the guards though he's left a bit battered from it all. Archer and Lana end up continuing an argument they've been having about who would take care of their baby if something were to happen to them. Archer wants it to be his mother but Lana is not a fan of that idea.

When the trio reach the designated spot, Conway betrays them again and gets the code so he can sell it to the Soviets himself. Lana asks why he even bothered to get them involved and he admits his primary incentive was to get revenge for having his hand ripped off. The only reason he didn't shoot Lana too was because he's "not a monster" and wasn't about to shoot a new mother. Lana slams the glass shut on Conway as he's preparing to base jump away and as a result his other hand gets cut off and the disc remains in her possession.

Lana helps a bleeding Archer outside where they are picked up by Christian Slater who agrees to take them to an airway strip. He admits that they had a suspicion that Conway was dirty but they wanted to put seasoned spies on such a dangerous mission. Archer forces the issue of what to do with the baby and Lana admits that she didn't want to hurt his feelings because if anything happens to just her, the baby will go to her parents, after which it would go to her sister if necessary. Archer is surprised to learn that Lana has a sister, asks if she is younger than Lana, which prompts Lana to press firmly against his wounded back to make him scream out in pain. Just as he deserves.

Archer airs on Thursdays on FX at 10PM.

Archer S6E1 - "The Holdout" Recap

Mallory calls Archer up, having discovered his location after he went on the run due to his fears and anxieties about becoming a father. He also resents Lana for not telling him that she had used his sperm to have a baby. Mallory has a freelance mission for him from the CIA. An American spy plane went down in the jungle 500 miles from where he is and he must retrieve the onboard computer and then destroy the plane.

The rest of the team is about to see the new office for the first time. Mallory is at first elated that the 10 million dollar renovations Pam and Cheryl were put in charge of match the vision she had hoped for, an all-white and high-tech interior. Unfortunately for her, it turns out to be an elaborate hologram of a ruse. The interior has actually been done to be virtually identical to the previous office they had, with the exception of a new robot that resembles a copy machine but makes toast.

Archer lands in the jungle and encounters a Japanese soldier from WWII that still thinks that WWII is going on since he was never relieved from his post since he was deployed on 10 May 1942. Kentoro (Ken) Sato at first thinks Archer is lying as part of an elaborate rouse. He is entirely behind on the current, social, and cultural events since the 1940's. Archer needs to go find the plane to complete his mission but is compelled to take Ken prisoner so Ken doesn't try to kill him. Ken tricks Archer into falling into a trap but is forced to pull him back up out of it when some armed enemy soldiers begin approaching.

Archer ends up with a foot injury and shares a drink with Ken. He proceeds to try to fill Ken in on the historical events of America, war, and the world. He also tells him about Lana and her pregnancy. Lana is also having to deal with Mallory refusing to acknowledge that it was her idea in the first place for Lana to use Archer's sperm, but then Mallory tries to suggest that Lana change the baby's name to Mallory. Meanwhile, Ken tells Archer that he is wasting the opportunity to be a father to his child. Archer passes out and Ken steals Archer's phone to catch up on the things he missed. When Archer wakes the next morning, Ken is angry at having learned about American dropping atomic bombs on Japan. Their fight is interrupted by Mallory calling to tell him to hurry up and finish the mission.

Ken and Archer must now work together because Archer needs Ken to help him get into the plane due to his injuries and Ken needs Archer's help in order to get off the island. Further suspense is added when they are attacked by insurgents. Ken drags Archer out before hoisting him over his shoulder but forces Archer to go back towards the gunfire in order to retrieve the detonator and complete the mission. They then head for the beach to wait to be extracted. Archer asks if Ken is ready to go home and at first Ken tries to say that his family will have forgotten about him but Archer uses his super spy phone to call up Ken's wife Satomi. They share an emotional conversation and Archer shoots at the extraction team when they try to hurry them up and thus interrupt Ken's phone call.

When Archer returns, Lana berates Archer for abandoning the baby and tells him that if he is going to be involved in his daughter's life, he will need to shape up. Finally, Mallory learns that Archer joined the planning committee of the renovations and was responsible for the office being identical to the previous one. He says that he doesn't like change, with the exception of the new toast robot, which he has named "Milton."

Archer airs on Thursdays on FX at 10PM.

"Archer Vice: Arrivals/Departures" - S5E13 (Season 5 Finale) Recap

The CIA decide to invade San Marcos. They had only been selling weapons to Calderone to monetise the cocaine in order to spend the rest of their budget, which they did by doing weapons transactions with Iran. The team realises that they had been unknowingly selling cocaine on behalf of the CIA and Lana, who is still in labour, tries to strangle Archer, thinking he knew about this the whole time.

Slater orders an air strike on the palace while Ray and Krieger are still unsuccessful in their attempts to disarm the nerve gas rocket. Mallory tells Cyril and Pam to steal the palace's valuables before they make their escape. Krieger comes up with the idea for them to just remove the nerve gas from the missile, which should make it far less damaging. Meanwhile, the air strike bombs Calderon's place.

They all head to the airport, still in possession of the nerve gas canister, where they meet Lana still in delivery. Pam and Mallory begin taking over the birth process, before which Archer had been attempting to be in charge of it while refusing to look directly at Lana's lady parts. Lana's baby is a girl and everyone boards Calderone's plane.

Lana tells Mallory she quits, still angry that Archer lied to her. Mallory responds by telling her that Archer had no idea about the deal, as she was the one actually responsible for fostering it. Mallory argues with Hawley and they strike up a deal. Hawley can seize the nerve gas, which will no doubt get him a promotion, after which he will reinstate ISIS as a private firm for CIA spy work. Hawley begrudgingly agrees to the deal.

Lana brings Archer over to see her daughter and tells him that she used some of his sperm sample before his cancer and Archer is shocked by the news, beginning to zone out. It takes him a while to understand what he has being told, but he eventually accepts that he now has a baby daughter named Abijean.

Archer will return on FX for Season 6!

"Archer Vice: Palace Intrigue: Part II" - S5E11 Recap

The shelling stops right as Archer was hooking up with Calderone's wife in the butler's pantry. The team then learns about Calderone's buying a million copies of Cherlene's album. Cherlene runs out crying, feeling humiliated. Calderone's wife is angry and is about to reveal her affair with Archer, who interrupts the moment by firing the gun at Cyril. Calderone and his wife throw dishes and china at each other before each leaving to go to their respective rooms. Cyril is revealed to be alive because he was wearing a bullet-proof vest. The team wants to leave but Mallory won't head out until Calderone pays for the weapons. Archer fires the gun again when Lana is about to reveal his affair with Calderone's wife. The news gets out anyway and Mallory decides that they should indeed leave. She also advises the team to be sure to grab Cherlene and anything else that might be valuable.

Krieger is bonding with the clones of him, deciding he's better off with them instead of the team, whom he overheard choosing to leave without him. Cyril has been tasked with finding a getaway and finds Calderone's massive collection of luxury cars. Calderone is trying to make Cherlene feel better, telling her he wanted to distribute her record to the poor to spread her music. She doesn't fall for it since she knows they don't even have record players. Archer and Lana are looking at Calderone's giant white painting and Lana slashes it out of the frame whilst making a symbolic insult to Archer's penis.

Calderone offers to divorce his wife to be with Cherlene and have him stay but Calderone's wife hears it and is furious, saying she will never divorce him even though she has never loved him. She draws a gun and tells Calderone about her affair with Archer. Calderone draws his weapon and pulls it on Archer. He fires the weapon and Pam jumps in the bullet's path. Cherlene beats Calderone with her guitar and uses it to absorb the bullets being fired by Calderone's wife. The pair get into a fight and Pam stands up, wearing Cyril's now-invalid bulletproof vest. She is injured but not out yet. Calderone makes his wife drop the gun and Cherlene still lands some slaps on her. Calderone says that his word is literally law in his country and declares himself divorced from his wife and married to Cherlene. He announces that everyone is to be executed except for Cherlene. Krieger overhears this from the surveillance feed. One of Calderone's men comes in and announces that the rebels have made it past the base. A tank comes in and the men drop their weapons and declare their surrender. Cyril then pops up and reveals that he is the one in the tank.
